Counter-serve chain with healthy sandwiches, salads & bowls using organic ingredients in hip digs.
Ive been coming here for the past couple years. I always get either the farmstead Cobb or is matcha chicken avocado. So tasty I could eat these every day.
Homegrown has some solid sandwiches for sure but I have to give them 3 stars. Their hours are super sporadic, the online ordering system never works (and they don’t accept orders over the phoneand they seem to hire a bunch of teenagers who just stand around bored while a line of customers wait. Because there aren’t any other good sandwiches on the island, I reluctantly stick with homegrown.
Food is very good but one of the most regimented places Ive ever visisted. Everything is so politically correct that it took away my appetite.
They are a breakfast and coffee joint but they don’t open up until 10 AM???
Long line to enter your order in a tablet rather than someone working there that knows how to do it taking your order.
Closed out of the blue at 1:07 PM…To the restaurant: PLEASE update Google or at least your voice mail message if you’re going to deviate from your posted hours
Best breakfast joint on Mercer. Please open more hours!
Maybe the best sandwich location I have ever been to Ive had food here twice one sandwich and one bowl which is a salad option both were perfect the staff are very friendly I would give it a five star but it is a little spendy.
I’ve stopped by several times to get a sandwich from this location in Mercer island. But you have employees who are struggling and making sandwiches in a kitchen with no air conditioning system. Pathetic how management’s seem to collect money and care about worker who are working in severe heat during this heat wave. I’m glad employees shared their voices with local news. At least customer like me will know what these employees are going through in order to make sandwiches.
Super fresh, locally sourced, and thoughtful combined sandwiches and bowls. Pleasant counter service. Price consistent with being predominantly organic. Neat local lunch spot.
Love the sandwiches here! Everything is locally sourced, well made and affordable.
I really love Homegrown. It is one of my go to places to get takeout and I havent had a sandwich I didnt like. I especially like this Mercer Island location because its on my way home from hiking out east. After a long day on the trail nothing is better than a good warm sandwich.
Good food. They would get a four or five but….Wish the atmosphere was better. The cussing staff and loud rock and roll has turned me off. ☹️
The sandwiches were delicious, very fresh ingredients. The only thing was that they took a long time to get your food, it seemed to like they need to rethink a bit their assembly method.
Grass-dws steak and bleu, get it. Id take a picture but its gone.
Great little sandwich shop chain, full of locals eating "sustainable" sandwiches. The Mercer Island one has great food. The girl calling out your name when your order was ready had such a soft quiet voice that nobody could hear her call their order.
Pricey fast food, but worth it! I haven’t had anything here that wasn’t “tasty”. From a breakfast meats to vegetarian, it’s all good.
Literally the best sandwich I’ve ever had and sustainably sourced. It doesn’t get any better
7 employees putting together orders, not a single person even bothered to say hello to my family of 4 at any point during our visit.
Food was good. Issac provided amazing service. He helped me create a good sandwich. I ended up getting the avo egg and cheese with Bacon. It was delicious
They have messed up my delivery twice. I get no call no one contacts saying my order is going to be over two hours late, nothing! Their ingredients are fresh and the food was great when I actually got it but My office has decided not to order from them anymore.
Love Homegrown but had a poor experience with this locations staff this morning. I went in to pick up an online order, poked my head in, woman is on her phone. As she is trying to walk out the door past me and I mention I’m picking up and order for pick up. “Uh no, there’s nothing on”.Not helpful, I’ve already paid. Does that mean nothing on the stove or nothing on the system? Was no annoyed I just walked out. Not sure where customer service has gone.
Waited way too long for food. 5 employees were working on the floor while a family struggled to use the self service. Waited 10 mins for them the struggle, then have an employee take the order down on the register. With that many employees, someone could have taken the order much sooner. Left without ordering, didnt want to give my money to a business that just had employees on call while a line builds up. Poor customer service.
Really delicious sandwiches - Broccoli melt, Zaatar smashed chickpea, chicken cherry pecan have been fantastic so far. Keep in mind that this place gets very busy during lunch time. Be prepared to order at least an hour in advance to get the order on time.
Delicious sandwiches and not crazy expensive (yet). Im disappointed it took me this long to find this gem. I got the chickpea sandwich and the filling was generous, and it tasted extremely fresh.Be warned the sandwiches do take longer than expected, dont come in a hurry.
YUM! What a delicious sandwich, I got the grass fed steak and blue. To start with I wasnt that hungry and I dont do well with dairy but I devoured the entire sandwich (ordered a wholeand I know Ill pay for blue cheese later but it was absolutely worth it.The steak was perfectly tender and melts in your mouth. The blue cheese compliments its perfectly along with the carmelized onions and it has the greens to lighten and balance the meal. The only thing I would change would be to add a little more of the greens or something else to help lighten up the sandwich but overall it was amazing and I really cant complain. Im stuffed and all I want to do is order another sandwich. The restaurant did not have seating inside due to COVID-19 so I cant comment on the inside but the napkins are very nice and the staff was super friendly.I will absolutely return here for more sandwiches.
I wish I lived closer to a Homegrown. Delicious, fresh, flavorful food. You feel good about your life choices after eating here. The bowl was amazing, the tomato bisque was 10/10. We even enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie. Ill definitely be stopping by next time Im on the Eastside.
It’s hard to find a place that emphasizes healthy food, but that actually still tastes good, but homegrown has managed to find that balance. I like to order the turkey bacon avocado sandwich, and I don’t know what is in there garlic aïoli, but it’s super yummy. Be aware that currently there is no dine in, only two or three outside tables on the sidewalks that are always full. We like to order it for pick up when we’re leaving the house so it’s ready for us by the time we get there, then eat in the car.
Seems understaffed? When I went for the first time, they gave me a wrong order. Had to stand and wait like 20 min to get my order. They only do not allow dine it. Tasted good though
Edit: We ordered Egg, Avocado & Cheese sandwich which had the perfect egg not very hard and not very soft and little running, just the way I like it. It has also comes with Habanero sauce which makes it little Spicy!Freshlicious! Thats Fresh & DeliciousWe ordered the Chicken Pesto sandwich with the usual toppings and hot sauce. It was a delicious sandwich, the pesto and chicken was fresh and amazing! We also ordered the breakfast sandwich - Egg , Bacon & Cheese sandwich. I am not a Bacon fan but the sandwich had the right crispy Bacon. The egg was special too!Unlike the other Homegrown locations in Redmond & Kirkland, this has plenty of parking which is an added advantage! If you do an online order and have included ice cream. Make sure to ask for it as it will NOT be packed along with the online order and will be in the refrigerator
Sandwiches and salad are absolutely delicious and nutritious. My entire family love each single order we have had so far. Organic and local veggie and meat is a must in such a toxic environment we are living in these days.
I was a little lost when I came into the store as I wasnt aware that it was a self order kiosk right away. But once I figured that out, the interface for ordering was very easy to use and read. This location was very busy and the pastrami sandwich I had was amazing! Not too messy and packed full of flavor.
Expensive, but I can understand why due to this restaurant being farm to table. I love their broccoli cheddar sandwich, all of their vegetables are fresh and delicious. Lots of options for vegetarian.
The food is good but extremely expensive especially since you order on the computer system not with a person and there is no substitute only add and subtract. On top of this the bathroom is closed, I assume because of the pandemic. This makes a lot of sense to close the place where people can wash thier hands and safely dispose of bodily fluids. Im so excited for the streets to smell of piss.
The food was super good and fresh, however the experience was ruined from the manager (? She had red very curly hairloudly yelling at her employees who were clearly trying their best. The way she was speaking to them was condescending, rude, and will prevent me from ever coming back. The atmosphere could have been great, but was destroyed by her inappropriate behavior.
This bowl cost $23. If thats your type of salad this place is for you. It was tasty but idk if I’d eat here again based on the price.
I want to start that Ive many great experiences with Homegrown until today. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado sandwich and a matcha salad. The sandwich was soggy, bacon was undercooked and avocado was brown. I honestly was going to complain. THEN...I opened up the matcha salad and a giant grasshopper emerged! I understand the food is organic and bugs can happen, but how do you miss this? Its huge! I called and they were polite, refunded and offered newly made food, but I think thats it for me with Homegrown. YIKES! :(
Super, crazy delicious, healthy and sustainable food = My new favorite spot?!?!
Food was good! I wish people were more friendly because I do want to return but I find it hard to become a regular when folks dont take the time to show they care about the customer. If you try to hurry me when Im ordering multiple plates for my friends - its not fun! I rather order online through Evergreens.
Some of the best sandwiches/ grain bowls/ and salad in the area. Everything is made from scratch and to order. The staff is always friendly and the place is kept very clean. I highly recommend their chicken salad. Prices can be on the high side but you get what you pay for! I recommend getting there when it opens or after the breakfast and lunch hour rush because it can get slammed with people eating inside and those waiting on their online orders. Ive waited one time for close to 20 minutes for my food during peak hours.
Had not been in two years. Missed the old menu options of more sandwich variety compared to bowls. But Im sure there is a demand for this so maybe the switch. We overall enjoyed our bowl and turkey bacon. Got the broccoli cheddar for our 18 month old...not what we thought lol.
Some of the best clean food available! Such great menu choices for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike with an emphasis on creating great flavor from perfect ingredients. You will not be disappointed! Excellent espresso as well!
Simply delicious and seemingly healthy food!I really like there pesto chicken sandwich for some reason i can not get enough of it. Im sure i will keep ordering it when i am in the area. Enjoy!
The food and environment are great. I would check your food order when placing an order to go from the front counter because you might be missing some key ingredients. I had this experience while ordering three salad for a friend, and I was slightly embarrassed because one of the salad was missing the critical ingredient beef. I recommend checking your order if you dont recognize the person preparing your food order. However, that wont stop me from coming to this beautiful place with great food. Im giving them three stars because I was disappointed with my experience on bringing my concerns on the order not being correct, and me feeling uncomfortable along with disappointment about the process of bringing up concerns or resolution. My plan from now on is to go there and eat and not bring up order mix up because I felt like it was my fault and not the establishment fault or I had a feeling like it is my fault and not the person fault who made my order.
Everything we ordered exceeded expectations. The pastrami sandwich was great and well balanced (removing the pickles takes it to the next level), the coffee was "the best coffee Ive ever had" according to the misses, the two egg bowl had a pleasant amount of green to egg ratio and tasted refreshing, and the Coconut Chia Porridge was loved by all four of us.
The charred broccoli sandwich is so delicious. Like the bowls a lot too.
Im changing my review. It used to be four stars but Im dropping it to two. This is the second time Ive ordered the chicken pesto sandwich on gluten free bread and it was served to me burnt. Today I specifically asked them not to burn it and I was told that they have to double toast the gluten free bread because its frozen. I dont think it should be acceptable to serve burnt food. I dont want to taste chard, especially when Im paying $15.00 + on a sandwich! How about having some thawed bread in the fridge where it will last longer then on the counter but be fully thawed out so it only has to be tested once.
The broccoli sandwich was absolutely amazing!! Love the natural ingredients and atmosphere here. I was a bit disappointed with the limited number of vegetarian and vegan options, but my meal was great and surpassed my expectations.
Great food, quick service, always crowded at lunch time.
A great choice of a healthy lunch! I even talked my boss and a vendor to meet me there for lunch and had fun trying the flavors of Molly Moon ice cream sandwiches!!
