Holy Guacamole - Love Lane in Butterworth

We loved this place, the food was the perfect Mexican food. Live music and amazing cocktails. Im dying to get back one day to have their loaded Nachos. I had a chicken taco and it was delish. The burrito is also so tasty.

I thought the 5 dips I ordered is kinda special - you get different flavours at one go. It’s a good place to hang out with friends and have drinks. They have TV and songs playing at the background so there is never a silent moment.

Really disappointed! We ordered two tacos (chicken and beefand one enchilada (chicken), all three items were served luke warm at best. The taste was not bad, but also not very good - merely ok for all three food items. The meat was a bit dry and - as I said before - luke warm, so Im wondering if it was cooked/grilled fresh to order or just reheated. The tacos had little to no sauce on them, which is why we ordered some guacamole (14rm, wayyyy overpriced for the small portion you getto put on top.We also did not like the soft tortillas used for the tacos, they had a weird texture and flavour - reminded me of paper and actually started crumbling and tearing apart because of the fillings moist. I never had corn tortillas like this before.Considering the quality and the taste of the food I think it is very overpriced!The service was not welcoming or nice, seemed kinda bored. However the drinks were served very fast as well as the food (which is not always good sign considering it was luke warm).

I’ve had the five cheese something nachos, chicken burrito, and beef enchiladas.In terms of taste, all of them were OK. Nothing bad and nothing above average about them.Portion is quite big so I would say you are paying more for the portion.I would suggest you to come here if Wheeler’s (the cafe besidehas a long queue. Hahaha. Just don’t expect amazing Mexican food here.

Nice ambiance, good quesadillas and good nachos unfortunately we took the tacos. The tortilla wasnt cooked at all so dont expect a crispy one. Overprice as well compared to the rest of the city, taxe and services not included in the price, 220RM for 3 for average food. I think the ones in the others comment never ate a real Mexican food or come only for the drinks.

Okay classic Margaritas. Tough to pinpoint the type of Tequila used -maybe local.The fish tacos are delicious, but not so consistent, with a nice chunk of fish for <us$3. The amount of salsa accompanying the tasty homemade chips is way too skimpy though.Indoors, this place is also recommended for the black light MEX mural for those tab droppers. And everyone else;)Outside seating is spacious on the quiet end of Love Lane.Recommended place.

"Dia de los muertos" themed casual dining place that serves an excellent interpretation of Tex-Mex cuisine. The first thing that greets you when you come for a meal here is the mural on the walls which represents a celebration of the Day of the Dead. The rest of the decoration matches the theme in a way that creates a colorful feast for the eyes.We ordered totopos, pulled beef barbacoa taco, baja taco, carne los burritos, pollo enchilada and frozen lime margaritas to wash everything down. Our orders arrived quickly, and were beautifully plated. Portions were generous, and the taste was bold, bright and fresh. Hot sauce was also readily available for those who want an extra kick with their food. Highly recommended.

Listed as one of the best Mexican restaurant in Penang.. Located strategically in Love Lane. Love lane famous for its pub and clubs.Good vibe inside. A normal can of Coke cost around RM8. spend around RM200 for 5 pax. you will enjoy the environment. wont say the best Mexican food I ever eaten, but still satisfied. Limited parking spot at the area. you may park at private parking beside of the shop but will cost you around RM5

So delicious! Perhaps the best burritos in Malaysia and the burger was also fab. I got the vegan burrito and it was honestly so so good… the chipotle Mayo was incredible. Great service and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Good food, nice atmosphere in the street and restaurant. However, the owner was constantly pushing for us to order more drinks, the moment we said we wanted to finish our drinks he told us to leave because they had another reservation. In total we spent 30 minutes there and everything felt as if they wanted you out of there asap.

Had very nice beef burritos for lunch today. Wish they had accompaniments such as Mexican rice and refried beans.

This place is overrated. The tacos were large but no unique flavour. Feels like anyone can cook the dishes. The same salad, salsa and sauces were used for all the dishes. Staff were not warm or welcoming.

We love the foods here. Its our fourth time here. Everytime we come to Penang for a holiday, we must come here at least once. Ranjit Ji served us,he still remember us from our last visit. Thank you Ranjit for the service.

We ordered two tacos: mushrooms (they were not very niceand chicken (very average- overall we didn’t like them. We also ordered the pumpkin quesadilla that was definitely tastier. There are better restaurants in Georgetown.

Delicious and fresh Mexican inspired food with lots of vegetarian and a couple of vegan choices. The food arrived quite quickly too.The manager was impeccabley polite.Prices are restaurant prices because this is a proper restaurant/bar with service and quality food to match.Live music nightly.

Quesadillas were super cheesy! Definitely a must order! Overall, superb food and service - Ranjit especially, served us well.He also offers a free chauffeur if youre drinking till late night (all the way to KL)!

These peeps have a few vegan options available. Had the hongos asada and the spiced pumpkin tacos, and they both tasted fantastic! Good taco size too. Youll need to add some of the Verde habanero if you want some chili.The mex bim bap was okay, not great value wise though.The place is very colourful, clean and on theme too!

Seldom go for Mexican Food, we are blur with the menu 😂their waiters help to made order patiently 👍🏼It was a satisfied meals with outdoor dining (limited seat for outdoor)

Love their food (very very much).Love their colorful interior design.Love the brilliant cutlery.Love their cheerful and interactive crews.Holy guacamole serves the best Mexican food i ever had. The way they spice up their food, crunchy nacho and warm fajitas with chicken. Splendid choices of dip, especially the guacamole and salsa are to die for. They also offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Cocktails are wonderful.Price wise is slightly expensive. Parking is a bit difficult since the street is always so happening at night.

The food was bland, which is not what you expect for Mexican food.The prices were a lot more than what we’ve paid in Penang/George town and i cant understand why. The quality was average, I guess, and the portions were really small.There’s a picture of 3 ‘tacos’ on the menu but you only get one for the price. The tax is added after AND they want you to pay a 10% service charge (which would be acceptable if it was good service).Service was non-existent and they completely forgot about us, we literally had to stand at the front for a few minutes just to get someone so we could pay.Over the main road is FULL of street food, so it suites all types, cooked fresh, cheap and looks great quality (locals were enjoying it alongside tourists which I always find to mean its good, fresh and fairly priced). Wish we would have gone there!

Was here around 6pm. It was quiet but got busier. Service was a bit slow. Had an order mix up, enchiladas came in the carne(beefvariant instead of the pollo(chickenone. Tried the five layer taco appetiser.The food was decent. Definitely had better Mexican food elsewhere. Ambiance is what youd expect for a Mexican restaurant.Definitely more pricey than the norm.Worth a trip but unsure if I would return myself.

My friends and i enjoyed our food n drinks there. Definitely one of the highlights on our trip in penang.

It was surprisingly empty when we arrived around 12. The food was tasty and came out pretty quickly. The quality overall was good; the beef taco was a touch dry but otherwise I was very happy.Definitely recommend visiting if you want Mexican food even though its more tex Mex than mexican.

The food is awesome! Must have the nachos and fajitas. The taco comes in single portion so do order more than one if you’re starving. The wait for my extra drink did take more than 20 mins hence why I am rating it 4 stars only. I dined there between 6:30 to 8pm

Went for dinner with friends..Ordered Pizza,Nachos,Quesadilla and drinks for 4 people..Theres available private parking space next to the restaurant,RM8 per entry after 6pm..The food was tasty and the ambience was really calming with live band..Fast service with attentive staff..Total was RM180.++ for the food and drinks..worth the price..Its convenient to call ahead and make a reservation..

My husband and I love to hang out here and I decided to throw him a surprise birthday party. It was a flawless experience dealing with Mr.Sunny on the venue and customised menu. The customer service rendered by Mr Ranjeet throughout the planning and the event day was just excellent! Every guest of mine complimented the venue, the food & drinks, the excellent customer service throughout the event. This place is highly recommended for their cocktails too! Perfect place for family and friends !

Wont say best Mexican dish, but better then other Mexican place I have tried. Do give a try and I am sure you will love this. The ambience is lively , you can visit with family , friends, couple or even solo. We had ordered chicken fajita, beef burrito, Baja fish taco, chicken empandas, chicken nachos

Had the crispy tacos - pollos, pato and carne. Fav was the pato: it was just the right amount of meat and generous amount of lettuce and pico de gallo. Each costs between 10-13. Would prefer for it to be folded before its made crispy. Also had the pollo quessadilla and chicken wings. Both were good and filling for sharing portion of 2. Ordered guacamole as a side - this was disappointing for me cause it was too smooth instead of chunky, which felt slightly watered down; lack in taste too. Came during HH, so drinks were priced ok. Margarita and daiquiri priced 24/26 (frozen/classicand Guinness 16/mug. Great place for hangout or birthday. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

I liked the design and ambience in this place with the latin music nice mix, for the food i tried nachos and beef tacos and it was ok, but i have tried better taste in other mexican restaurants

The food served here is pretty authentic. Loved the quesadillas, but the serving size for the tacos was quite small. The nachos also had very little cheese which makes the price to food quality and serving size ratio pretty high. Servers also take a pretty long time to take your order and serve your food as they are very short handed.

Went here for a quiet Valentines dinner. Had the quesadillas and tortillas. Both vegetarian of course. Quesadillas could use a bit more cheese and the salsa was just average. Overall dinner was nice but have tasted better mexican food. Had a good live band on that day and that made up for it.

Found this place as it was one of the drinking places on Love Lane which had live music playing on weekday . The music was alright , the food and drinks not so . We ordered two appetisers, one arrive while the other order was missed . Drinks tasted so so . The ambiance of the place though is colourful, bright and lively . Indoor and outdoor dining available. Prices a bit on the tourist price .

Ive tried plenty of Mexican joints in penang and this ones hands down the best. Order anything on the menu and you can be sure you wont be disappointed. Service was fast and friendly. Only downside is parking can be a little hard to get, but then again thats par for the course in Chulia.

The Mexican food here is absolutely delicious. Every dish was tasty and presented well. Restaurant has a colourful ambiance and attentive, friendly waiters. Cocktails were decent. Overall reasonably priced.

Great Mexican food on Love Lane. Tacos & Nachos are awesome with Margaritas too sweet for my liking. Pizza is okay.Quite a popular place with 5-6 tables. Arrived around 5pm and saw most tables have reservations at 7pm, better book in advance if thats your timing.Variety of Mexican food: tacos, nachos, Quesadillas and more. We have beef and smoked duck tacos, seafood pizza and 2 margaritas.

Nice place for Mexican food. Indoor and outdoor available. Food was nice and service was fast. This place is pork free, although they serve alcohol. Price was reasonable with the portion, no complaints because we had a full meal, totally stuffed! 😋 Their churros and smoked duck taco is highly recommended.

Tonight having dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Dont know is authentic or not but definitely suits my tastes bud. Good food with good verities of choices. Staff are friendly and the place are very lively. Oh yes, love the chilli sauce 😋😋😋😋

Lovely ambience, super friendly and warm staffs, food was so so good.. the guacamole is just so perfectly made, was good with my nachos. Enjoyed the churros, too! Quesadillas were yummy! I had a lovely virgin mojito, hubs had a coconut margarita. So good on a hot afternoon. Will definitely go back again and again and again! P.S. my son was super excited too- definitely kids friendly

This place is pretty cool. I’mFrom California and my lady is straight up Mexican. We come here because number one the staff is very humble and helpful to us. They treat us VERY well and I appreciate that. Even though it is not exactly California Mexican food it is pretty good! We were blessed with the opportunity to meet the owner, Mr. Sunny! Very genuine and helpful man. Cares about his customers and wants everyone to not only feel welcome but also enjoy the food for which why you came. You can walk next door for a pizza at the loft which is owned by them as well. We will come back soon. Oh and by the way, the bartender, I like him. I went to bar tending school in California and this guy ALWAYS makes me a drink I like. Thank you ALL
