Holy Cow Indian Cuisine - Indian restaurant in Timmins, Canada
Great take-out experience!! Brought in to work it was amazing!! Hot and fresh, on fortunately there’s a possibility they are closed in Timmins.
Absolutely fantastic. Their butter chicken is out of this world.
The food is great but the service is terrible. I ordered at 11:30 and it is currently 1pm and I do not have my food. I called to ask for an update several times and was told 5-10 minutes and that it was already sent for delivery. There is no way. The male worker from Holy Cow eventually hung up on me.
Fantastic Food,HOWEVER the menu is quite limited, and the prices are horribly inflated for a simple butter chicken and Nan you will run yourself about 20$ easily and thats without a drink.
Incredibly flavourful. Expensive. Sometimes food could be stale.
Tasty, authentic food. Great service!
Great! Dont be put off by the appearance. The food here is excellent, takeaway or otherwise. Naan is fresh!
Low test quality food with expensive money..please look back for your business..
Came with a group and got different dishes. Overall the sauce and flavours were great. Curry could use a little more spice but still good. Butter chicken was yummy but found it a little harder than average to chew. All the sides were amazing including the naan bread. It was made fresh on the spot and was a large serving. Prices are good and service is friendly.
We were craving some Indian food and drove nearly 300km to this restaurant. Spend almost 50 bugs just for 2 vegetable rice and 2 tandoori chicken. It was really disappointed.
Delicious food and nice people. I love to get the palak paneer and a mango lassi.
Awesome place. True Indian food
This place is seriously so good. My boyfriend didnt think he was a big fan of Indian food till he tried some from Holy Cow. Well definitely be getting lunch here more often!
Simply exquisite. A bit pricey, but worth it
Awesome food, very delicious east indian food. The staff is extremely friendly and this place is just perfect for everybody. Naans are so exquisitely soft and tasty. And their Palak Paneer and Lamb Kebabs and Tandoori Chicken is just out of this world. Woo hoo!
Great meal size and spice amount
Absolutely fantastic service and authentic Indian food. Naan is great. I truly appreciate this in Timmins. Friendly chef and great staff.
Uderlly butterlyI want to share my personal experience with everyone. It was my birthday on feb12. We ordered a long order when we started to eat. I just took a first bite suddenly it realized that food has a same taste as my mom made for me in my hometown. Thanks Holy Cow to make my birthday special. Staff is awesome
Honestly very low quality of food with too much price.Ordered tonight (12feband wasn’t cooked properly with horrible test and bad serivices.
Honestly, very low quality food. Not properly cooked with horrible taste. Also they need to think about their prices.
Food was boring.Never thought something cooked in duck fat could taste so bland.staff has a big head on their shoulder but nothing to show for it.i think its time for the owner to get off his horse. You should think about your prices and such a low quality food . This type of food is very bad for someone health . This is my first and last time in holycow restaurant.
My new Timmins favourite! The service is excellent. It didnt matter that I was not familiar with Indian food. They explained everything on their menu. The naan is to die for - baked fresh in their tandoor oven.
Staff were friendly, restaurant was clean, very fast service and naan bread was the best Ive found in Ontario so far
Very good food, clean place. Wasnt super busy. Short wait until food was ready.
Hit or miss. Typically great sauces, but dry meat.
They were very friendly and the food was amazing! Would definitely go back! I was unsure, because my first experience with Indian food was not great, but this was absolutely amazing!!
I was in Timmins for business for a few days. Instead of eating at fast food places I decided to try other places .No regrets. I went here my last 2 nights. Price was super reasonable for the amount you get (I got the personal combo and it was more than plenty). Food was so delicious and the restaurant is very cute and cozy. I definitely recommend this place!
Its good, but the prices are exorbitant. I used to go there all the time but the constant decline in quality and quantity makes me look elsewhere because I wont keep paying 20$ for four pieces of chicken in three cups of sauce ...
Butter chicken was a little lack listed however we also got the chicken vindaloo and tandoori chicken which was awesome and naan was great it would be great tho if they offered garlic naan
Good service. Good food. Good price.
Had this weeks special, lamb rogan josh. Great depth of flavour, and nice heat. Excellent fresh made naan bread to go along with it.
Asked for a sexy surprise meal, and recieved a sexy surprise meal. Great food, friendly staff!
Good quality, however, considering what you get for each meal, very expensive comparing to other indian resturaunts
A little bit pricey but the lunch was worth it. Highly recommended if you want something delicious and different from the usual Northern Ontario fare.
This is probably the only spot for Indian cuisine if you are food craving got some good spicy Indian curry at Timmins. It is pretty clean for a fast food place. Stopped by for lunch and have a great beef vindaloo in small portion with their house made naan. Then finally washing it all down with mango lassi.A holy cow good lunch 😁
...was instructed when coming to Timmins to approach local cuisine with caution. Hotel staff knew little.Dropped into Holy Cow and all I can say is holy wow. Diner-esque with a limited but tasty menu and the warmest greeting that I could have ever imagined.Enjoying each bite of the meal; the korma and vindaloo are delicious. Devoured the pakora and samosas.Do dine here if you do care about flavour and choice while on the road and if you are living in Timmins enjoy this space! As a side note the restaurant is not licensed but delivery is an option!
Fantastic food. Definitely going back.
Holy COW!! So good. Had the samosas and the butter chicken. The beef samosas are great. A nice taste of spices and not greasy. The veggie samosas was tasty too. Nice spicy heat. Again not greasy. As for the butter chicken with some fresh naan...mmmm so good. Very tasty and chicken tasted well. A definite stop everytime Im in Timmins. Ok
Timmins is severely lacking in a diverse culinary experience. Holy Cow fills a much needed niche in the local market, providing fast food Indian dining and take out with sit down restaurant quality food. I love being able to grab a samosa on my way through downtown. Only place in Timmins you can get authentic Indian cuisine.
You NEED to eat here!!!The food was ah-may-zing. The woman who served us was very helpful as it was our first time there. We tried the personal combos as it was smaller portions so we could try 6 different things. Dont be afraid to try this is youre worried about it being too hot, there are dishes that arent super spicy. The beef vindaloo is the spicier dish and though it did pack a kick, wasnt an inferno in your mouth.I also cant say enough... how much I LOVE their naan!!! Its made when you order it in a tandoor oven and omg... it is the bomb.. My son and I have decided to make it a mother son lunch date at least once a month from now on. We plan to try everything on the menu!Go hungry because the portions are a good size!
Having spent 4 months living and traveling throughout India, the best way to describe my dining experience is Holy Cow! Definitely an easy 5 stars with delicious, creative cuisine that was at our table in minutes - a perfect example that fast food can be healthy, tasty and authentic! Handmade garlic naan, expertly made in front of us. An abundance of menu choices that satisfied the carnivores and vegetarians in our group. Get the combo for heaps of food for a reasonable price. The paneer (Indian cheesewas the freshest Ive ever tasted. Ever! Strong work, Holy Cow.
As someone who lives down south, who would have thought of coming to timmins for the best Indian food Ive ever had!? Definitely up there in terms of best tastes ever as well. Butter chicken was perfectly moist and delicious, Naan was absolutely soft and perfect. Would not hesitate to recommend, and am looking forward to coming again!
We tried this for the first time & it wont be the last. The butter chicken was very tasty & had ample chicken. The large size was more than enough for two - we still have leftovers. The service was quick & friendly. Naan & samosas were also very good. So glad to have this option available in Timmins. We definitely will go back.
This place was great. I never would have thought I could find great tasting authentic Indian food here in Timmins but was I ever surprised. Definitely worth the money. Butter chicken was awesome. Big portions too!
Phenomenal food! We had the dinner for two and chose the vegetable rice, Navratan Korma, and Tandoori Chicken. The Korma is a mix of 9 vegetables in a delicious sweet coconut cream sauce and was definitely the winner for fsvourite dish. The meal also came with a choice of unbuttered or buttered naan. There was plenty to take home for leftovers too!
I have eaten here now three times. I am not an Indian food connoisseur, but I do enjoy it. I have found the combo deals are a bit pricey with half the dish almost being rice. Food is good and the quality is good. Four of us ate there, we had the dinner for four plus one extra medium dish and four drinks, it cost almost $100. I cannot compare value elsewhere but find that prices are a bit steep.
Overall a good effort. Staff were very friendly. Samosa was so greasy I had to drain it before I tasted it. Once drained the flavour was good though. Same thing for the naan. Very greasy but after patting it dry turned out to be pretty decent. Lentils were great. I think the butter chicken was made from tandoori chicken that was not purchased from a previous service. Taste was good. Overall, good concept but execution needs a little work.
Butter chicken was great, naan was o.k, vegetable curry was edible, vegetable rice was just like regular rice with a few peas, had gulab jaman for desert it was like 2 timbits soaked in syrup for 4 bucks and disgusting, I think theyve recently changed it to 3 pieces but eww never again
I am vegetarian and so to have an Indian restaurant open in Timmins is a welcomed event. Weve tried 3 of the vegetarian dishes on two visits. We loved the Dal, enjoyed the chole and thought the vegetable curry could be improved (they just opened so Im not too worried). I already know that this is a restaurant that Ill be frequenting!
I was very excited to try a new Indian place in Timmins, and for the most part it was a great experience. The samosas and vegetable pakora were highlights. This place also has some of the best naan bread Ive ever had. The portion size for the main dishes are a little small, but everything tasted great. I would suggest a little more description for the menu items including which ones are spicy. Also, all our food was served in to go containers which felt a little wasteful. I will definitely return!
