Breakfast to dinner à la carte menus with a carving station, cake counter, & children's play area.
When though it was late, service did seem a bit slow. We had to check where our order was at. But other than that it is a good place to go, children friendly, with their play area. Food is tastey.
went for Sunday lunch at about 1 and was super busy as expected but all the food was fresh and one of the best roast dinners ive had for a long time, price of the food is very good, kids portions very generous but the drinks can be a little steep but thats how these places make their money i guess. the only down side is the kids fun area, its very basic with a few pay machine and some of the seats in the booths are ripped with the foam exposed and taped up with black tape.
Popped in with the family never been here before. We were all taken back by how friendly and intentive the satff are. The was soooo good as well . We will all back #Barcelona
Service terrible. We got fed up of looking at the empty crockery from the starters, so took them back to the bar myself ( although staff had already noticed they were empty and stacked to oneside When the main course finally arrived the batter on the fish was swimming in grease....awful
DEFINITION OF CARVERY!! Always busy, especially Sundays so make sure you booking in advance!! Great and fast service! Fantastic and very local!!
Lied to me about a soft play area on the phone turned out it was just pay machines,1,food was terrible left 8 of us with tummy problems for 3 days and greeted by 2 rats outside.Never again.
all knives and forks were dirty, covered in dry old food. even the pots they are kept in are dirty with food drips on.was given 3 cups for a tea with tea rings inside where they havnt been washed. the cake slices were completely burned around the edges which was visible as well as making the entire cake taste burnt. wouldnt bother coming. no care for hygiene or products.
Went for my birthday. Fab customer service food lovely all come in reasonable time was hot and reasonably priced too.Fully recommend a visit
Great carvery. Was very busy when we arrived without a booking but were able to find a table. The queue was very long but it went down quickly and our server carving the meat was friendly and efficient even though he was clearly under pressure as he was the only one on. Veg was still going strong even though we arrived later on in the evening. Never had a bad meal here, never fails us.
Saturday night and the place was almost dead! Luckily we had a table of 9 although the food came out at different times, some people had finished before all dishes were out! Most of us left the food as it was a very poor standard. The burgers were awful. I think the only dish that was eaten was the lasagna that wasn’t fresh!! The cider was ok but some of the lagers were flat. This place has so much more potential.
Ive been several times for breakfast and carvery. The breakfast was fresh...and did me fresh fried eggs. The carvery does get extremly busy..so always good to book.
Been Holly Bush farm several times before and always had a good meal here. Got a table after a small wait and ordered a starter for my daughter and myself, my daughter also ordered side order of chips and I ordered a standard carvery. The lady at till was really nice and asked if we wanted the starters to come out before mains which I said yes please. As soon as Id put my order in and sat down the side order of chips arrived 1st!! Followed a few minutes later by the starter!!! Erm?! Although not in the right order these were very nice however we then got in carvery line for my main with my ticket only to be told by another customer theres no meat left if you want a carvery!! Lady on the carvery putting the last of the meat that was there in takeaway boxes for deliverys. Lady on the carvery apologised and offered me a refund, which I did but very disappointed the carvery was done and cleared of all meat before 7.30pm when Id already ordered! Would mind if it was late. Other diners still coming in the pub being told no carvery turned away. Seems the take away option is taking priority over diners wanting to come in and nothing left for us. Been in just having drinks and heard them saying before no carvery. Wont be going back now Im afraid, sorry.
Food was very good value, my 5☆rating was for the service that I received from the chap on the carvery (TJ), creditto your company 🙂🙂👍👍
I was recommended this Carvery by many people so being my first experience I was quite disappointed BUT it was extremely busy! The dark hair’d lady on the desk made us a reservation for a couple hours later, she was fabulous with people!!We returned and got the rudest girl who made us feel like a burden I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt as she was pregnant. We waited in the Carvery que for 30 minutes and got rations of of meat. Our soft drinks were not a full glass. I would suggest they limit people and give us and their staff an easier time as it was not pleasurable for either!People/atmospheres make an experiences much more desirable. Stop trying to get as much money as possible because people won’t return.
Very busy place told us table wait was 25 minutes but found us one within 10 minutes brilliant food was good service was brilliant Very good all round Nice place will be back 😀 👍
Very pleased with the service even though they were busy staff still had a smile for everyone. Food as always was good and of course had to bring home a lovely cake for later.
My 1st rubbish experience of food today. We come here regular and have the carvery. Today very little mash, no roast potatoes,no parsnips, hard yorkshire puddings. Hard and crunchy pigs in blanketsWhen asked when the food will ne coming out, least 5 minutes as not finished cooking. Whilst rest of our food will go cold. Nobody appeared to know what they was doing or seemed to care
Very busy Sunday - long wait for kids meals ( pasta and rest off carvery deck)- no small cutlery for small kids. Not great for kidsVery warm near carvery deck.Problems are pub chain related. Wouldn’t go again with kids. Would go as just 2 adults.
Me and my girlfriend went on a busy Bank Holiday Sunday, the staff were very friendly and looked after us very well, the food was very good, all in all a very pleasant experience
Ive come to this restaurant tonight as its a lovely place to get a carvery with the kids being allowed to play but tonights service was made that extra bit exceptional! Kim is the loveliest, Warmest person who was very attentive and the service was brilliant! Shes friendly and chatty and has put a sule on our faces. 5 stars just for her!!!
Depends what chef is on shift will determine how the meal will be.Either its going to be spot on or under/over cooked.Waiting/bar staff are fantastic though.
Love the food at holly tree, the carvery is amazing and the atmosphere is great, Kim was so lovely and so friendly to our dog! one of my favourite places to eat
Good points : Got table easily not busyFood arrived quickly.. pleasant staff get u anything promptlyBad points : shabby looking place filthy tables & menus ...flies all over windows ....chef & staff having big loud row in kitchen at back of carvery ......all kids activity corner requires cash
Quite disappointed to be honest, some of the family had visited before and were raving how good the place was. So decided to book a table while they were all out of town, the first thing that struck me while being shown to our seat were thick layers of tape holding the bench seat cushions together, not very appealing for first impressions and to say the place is not that old.Quite a lot of choice on the menu but most of the classics were chicken based but Southern Fried was not available on this occasion. The smothered chicken although very nice came minus the button mushrooms as stated on the menu, the steak ordered medium to well done arrived very well done in my opinion but was still enjoyed. Some of the desserts were unavailable, the ice cream sundaes arrived with desert spoons making adding entertainment whist watching the kids trying to scoop the contents from the bottom.Been advised to try the burgers or carvery on the next visit.
Arrived for lunch as a party of 2 adults and 3 children. We chose to sit close to the indoor play area in order to keep our children in our sight as they played. Quite surprised to find the seats in the booths held together with big wide strips of black tape which barely held all the sponge filling in! Not a very welcome sight! Tables felt really sticky too.We all had a carvery which was ok, the meat in particular was delicious but mostly everything else was dry.
Longest wait ever for carvery staff more concentrated on uber/deliveroo orders than customers waiting to be served. Sorry wont be visiting again.......10+ mins waiting to be served at the bar.... 40 mins queuing for carvery....
Been here a few times. Food is always amazing. Theres a good variety of things on offer so even fussy eaters can dine. Wheelchair access is good and they are very accommodating with where they sit you. The only down side is the disabled toilet isnt any good for those needing a hoist and bed!
Wasnt happy with the food today. Me and my partner both had carvery and didnt enjoy it at all. The gammon tasted off, the beef was very chewy and fatty, the veg was cooked to mush and not very tasty at all, but the gravy was really nice. We do go there regularly but have been put off by todays experience and are both feeling very unwell with stomach ache and feeling sick.
Booked a decent size table for tonight online but nobody got in touch to confirm like it said they would. The food was poor for the price and the service was absolutely awful. Waited an hour for the food to arrive, 30 minutes for drinks to come, at one point had to go and find out where my drink was. Staff had a bit of an attitude problem and said they was understaffed so wasn’t fussed about us complaining. Poor. Would struggle to want to go back
I had a veg option and carvery accompaniments. Really good value. Staff friendly and helpful, despite it being very busy with a large party. We were early for our group booking and they looked after us well.
As always only one serving at the bar if she went any slower she would stop. She was serving a family who were also complaining how slow she was. Bloke in front of me walked out. Waited ages at the carvery because he was also cooking in the kitchen. Not much choice on the carvery mostly potatoes.
I entered on my own and was immediately welcomed by Adele. She found me a table in a quiet area but instead of making me walk there (I struggle to walkshe told the lady at the till my table number then she carried my drink for me. I had carvery which was excellent. Adele came and asked me if everything was ok. I felt really relaxed and I don’t always feel that because I’m on my own.
Carvery was lovely but. Gammon , egg and pineapple was cremated and not fit to eat. Grilled on a dirty unclean grill plate had black bits of metal attached to the burnt egg. Dessert was nice though
Had a great carvery plenty of different veg big portions if u want that also veggie options and veggie gravy I liked too so did hubby staff was very helpful
On a day it wasnt busy, we waited 5 mins to be seated. There seemed to be a staff shortage. We ordered via the app. Two drinks which took +10mins to arrive and one of them was forgotten about. Those at the bar were prioritised. We ordered a veggie carvery and went to collect the pies from the counter but they werent there so we just collected all the other food and was told theyd bring them over instead. 5mins later, no sign, so I went to investigate and the chef had forgotten them. They seemed undercooked as the potato inside was hard. Also seems acceptable that kids can run around the bar area and even saw one kid riding a bike through!!! Wouldnt recommend.
Visited on Sat afternoon when it was nearly 30°C outside. It was very quiet, staff were nice but really rushed off their feet so there was quite a wait. It was a mistake to go for the carvery, the meat was nice, but thats about it. The Yorkshires had hardened so much under the heat lamp that they were inedible and shattered into dust, the roast potatoes, which there were four pots of were half burnt and half undercooked. The gravy had such a thick skin on I could get it to shift after a rigorous stir. Plus, most of the staple vegetables were missing, no; peas, sweetcorn, caramelised onions, or leeks. Hence the several pots of potatoes (plus mash and boiled of courseto make up for it.The male urinals were overflowing and smelled really bad as well.Really disappointed, been tempted to go for some time, always smelled so good from the Aldi car park. Will keep away in the future.
Order placed my order mine came just after we sat down meal was Luke warm, sent it back , came back with a different plate, by this time my other guests that were with me came back , no point sending it back, do they think a customer has a valve, mine will be not to return back but to go else we’re , I would not recommend them to any other people. Poor quality
Went for a first visit due to circumstances having closed the initial choice. Lovely helpful staff, food excellent and brilliant value. Having asked for a lime and soda but not too strong I was asked to check it was strong enough. Sat outside but then down came the rain but there was no issue to relocating inside. The carvery food looked lovely and my friend had a turkey bap and was told to help himself to as much potato, veg and condiments as he wanted. I went for the goujons of fish in batter in a cob with chips and salad. This was more than just a salad garnish it was plentiful. There was plenty of fish inside the goujons, not like some places that serve mainly batter and little fishA highly pleasant and filling lunch. Definitely one to revisit and recommend to others.
A beautiful cavery with choice of 3 meats. As much of the vegetable cavery you want. Yorkshire Pudding and gravy. Absolutely loved it. Cooked perfectly. Service to order is usually quick even when there is a line up waiting to order.Very happy.
Brilliant place to eat.with family and friends small children well looked after make.sure.your hungry the meals.are big ,very clean lovely interior decorated to a good standard, definitely I will be eating here again 5 star rating no problem 😊
I did enjoy the carvery . The downside lots and lots of butter in all the veg. I thought it was all yummy but not healthy. The food was nice.On our second visit it felt like there was only one chef in the whole place. We was waiting for ages to be served. Eventually he rushed out spoligiding. I think he had been cooking other customer request. There is a big menu if you dont want carvery.plenty if sweets, ice creams and what I call heart attack cakes. The cakes look fab. Have a lot if sugar and icing on.Thats my personal opinion. I have never tried a cake. They look very creamy
We went for a carvery mid afternoon when it was quiet. The meat was good but some of the veg was empty, dry or not hot enough and gravy had lumpy skin on. Ive been before at lunch time when it was busy but the food was fresher and hotter. The price is good for what you get but Im not sure all day carvery is a good idea.
Been here a few times for breakfast now and although the prices have increased slightly we still enjoy it. The staff are very friendly and cheerful, the breakfast is plentiful and always has a good variety on offer and is self service so you can have as much or as little as you want, will definitely be back for breakfast again
Unfortunately I have to say it was very disappointing. Of course with it being a Sunday the carvery queue was bonkers. That cannot be helped. But several of the meals that came out of the kitchen were not to a basic standard.Having a mixed grill myself. The peas were going cold. The egg was stone cold. The onion rings were just mush. The sausages were overcooked aoveru tough on the outside Just all in all could have been better
One a scale of 1-10 it has to be a 2, all the vegetables had been out for ages causing them to be dry and hard , the Yorkshire pudding was to crisp as these had also been out for ages, the meat was cut wafer thin the only thing good was the gravey. I normally go on a Wednesday for the carvery but I shall be giving it a miss for a while.
Extremely busy but staff coped without fuss. A member of staff was dedicated to one of our group in a wheelchair. Took her order for the carvery and brought it to her. Food was good, and we werent rushed to leave after eating. Overall superb.
Hi I was there for the first time with an old school friend yesterday ( 9/5/22)Everything was absolutely superb. We both had the Carvery which was excellent! The ambiance was lovely and the staff were great, particularly the young lady that served me. I didn’t catch her name but I remember she is back up home briefly from Birmingham. What an absolute credit she is to you !!When I am back down in Nottingham ( I used to live here again this is the first place I’m coming to .Thanks againSteve
Absolutely avoid on a Sunday. Lovely food but complete lack of staff. Took 40 mins to queue for the carvery which meant our group didn’t even eat together. They prioritise the takeaways to the actual present customers which causes huge delays. Probably a much better experience on a quiet week day but I absolutely will not return on a weekend again.
Amazing meal. Seven family members visited Holly Tree Farm today to celebrate my son’s birthday. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly especially Adele who arrange a surprise slice of cake with a candle and my son’s name wrote on it in icing. It was a lovely gesture and I can’t thank her enough. She is a great member of staff and we will definitely be returning.
Booked a table for 5 Friday for a Sunday, turned up and could not find our booking. The lady on the front was lovely and told us not to worry and got us a table straight away. They lady then came to tell us she found our booking and if we not happy with table she would move us. The place was very busy so i would advise to book. The food was absolutley beautiful, good service, good price and very good customer service. Will be returning.
