Hollins Mill Park - City park in Lynchburg, United States
Beautiful. And the other park attendees were all polite and respectful.
A favorite scenic spot in the area!! Water can get high on trails with heavy rains but usually it’s the prettiest part of the Blackwater Creek exercise route we enjoy!
A great shaded creek trail with wildlife, parking, and in late summer, tons and tons of Paw Paw fruit.
Great trails, picnic areas, waterfall. Great for fishing.
Good hiking trails that ended with a beautiful view of waterfall.
Beautiful waterfall. Beautiful wooded area of Lynchburg
Scenic waterfall and tree lined trails. Very nice walk in the summer especially if you walk up to the train tunnel. Highly recommend will visit again 🥾
The park looks great but the infrastructure could be better. And a little bit of cleaning would be great. Overall is a great place to visit and the view is phenomenal.
Great time kayaking just beautiful and pleasant day
Absolutely Beautiful!! Didnt have the time to hike the cave, but the waterfall and park is truly amazing. Family friendly for all ages!! I will be returning with no time limit
Beautiful park with trails to remember, and even a gorgeous water fall.Great Pokémon Go spot too.
Very nice area. Loved the dam. Didnt walk to the tunnel. I was sad to see all the trash people were leaving everywhere. Lots of geese. So watch out for poo.
Good place to spend time with your buddies. Clean. Cared for. Safe. @colossuskitty even got in the water!
A great place to take a mental vacation not far from home. The waterfall is the highlight of this place. Family, kid and pet friendly.. From walking the trail to fishing Hollins Mill Park is the greatest. We can’t wait to go back. Please go here if you are in the Lynchburg area, I highly suggest.
Very nice some trails were blocked off but very nice
This is a fun place to bike, walk your dog, or run. Its shady and there are multiple trails, both paved and unpaved, going in all different directions! Many things to see along the train....waterfalls, an old tunnel, a wooden bridge.....which makes the journey interesting as well as calming!
This place is beautiful and we got to see a beaver! 🦫
Beautiful park! Love it ❤️. Watch for snakes on the trail though.
The waterfall is my best moments and walk that 2.25miles to get to it
A good place to take a nice quiet walk or you can just sit down and enjoy the sounds from the waterfall
Beautiful park next to a refreshing river. Walking/biking trail and other activities to do.
Good grassy area by creek with picnic tables. Great for picnics or hangouts. Also connects to Lynchburg black water creek trail. Well maintained trail. Great for walking, biking, dog walking. Dog clean up stations. Waterfall access with stairs.
A waterfall which perfectly calms the nerves and helps you to appreciate nature. One love in all things and everything be Jah Airie ya dig?
Its a great and very pleasant, peaceful place. I like to take the trails to get there and watch the ducks and other animals while I sit in peace and serenity
4.4 stars not quite a 5, but a wonderful little spot, the biggest attractions are the waterfall and the tunnel, plus its a pull out for canoe and kayak who drop in further upstream... Its only a 2 mile walk to Percivals isle and there are a plethora of trail options here. Its really got the city next to and even through it with the train tracks and traffic, but its pulled back enough to still be peaceful and a great getaway for Lynchburg and surrounding areas... Everyone should stop by and checkout the tunnel at least once!
It’s nice but there are electrical poles right beside the walkway and a sign that there can be raw sewage overflow in the water. Like I’ve never seen that. It’s a nice little path but literally the only nice part is the waterfall and the little park before the waterfall. It’s an easy walk as well.
Nice park. We walked about 2 miles on the trails. The trails are paved and there was a port-a-potty on the trail we were on. Very pretty waterfall. Only negative is the small parking area.
Great little area for the family with an easy paved trail. We bring our stroller and walk through to Jefferson St without issue. I see several people fishing on the shore next to the parking lot every time I go, though I dont know if they ever catch anything. If you do go to fish, it is catch and release only.
Cool waterfall from an old mill from years past. Nice picnic/BBQ areas, ample parking. Small canoe launch and trailheads. Quiet and laid back.
Beautiful park. Great views. Paved and earthen trails.
Beautiful place! I wish we had more time to take it all in but we had to get on the road. We visited Liberty University for a possible college for my son. Also awesome by the way. Many beautiful sites in the area, this is definitely a must see!
There is a great trail that loops into Black Water Creek Trail system and now they have kayak and canoe rentals with a public boat ramp. It is a short upstream trip that can end in small falls.
Well maintained area, the family and I enjoyed the trail that took us to the tunnel and back. I especially liked the signs that told us which way we were headed. This being our first time there it was very helpful!
The prettiest intimate park Ive been to in a while..waterfall is just a few steps away from car.
We had our a pre-wedding BBQ here (it has a couple grills and tablesand frequent it with our kids now. It never changes - truly a magnificent staple. Fun to visit every season, and the Blackwater Creek Trail in general is a nice place to workout or just take visitors that are from out of town.Downside is that the water overflows under the tunnel - this could make it hard to walk across the road and onto the other side of the trail. You’re forced to use the road to cross, which can simply be inconvenient for folks with pets or kids on a simple outing.Either way, good place!
Unfortunately for me, I lost my water bottle while on the trail, but it is an easy trail, mostly flat. There are some parts that you can go exploring and its close to civilization, so if danger or injury occurred, you would be within a mile of help. The trails were well kept and the directions are clear.
A nice area to take the family to look at the waterfall and have a nice water view without having to hike to get there. The walking trail is really nice and well. I dont feel super comfortable walking it by myself, but Ive done it without any issues.
Very Beautiful Park and paved Trail walk!!!!!
Hollins mill park is my favourite urban forest area in Lynchburg. It has a number park, where you can enjoy berbeque. The stream right beside the park provides the perfect setting to test your fishing skills while the berbeque does its job. Or if you prefer, you can bring in your canoe and enjoy the stream. Multiple hiking routes provide you great options for hiking or even cycling. And to top it off, the stream jumps over a wide man made waterfall giving it a great view.
Love this park was so peaceful and relaxing nice trails to walk
This park is beautiful and unique. Unlike many other parks, this one has a waterfall that is awesome to sit near, and also a long trail great for bike riding or walking, including a large rock tunnel. Be sure to watch for snakes as weve seen a few on the trail!
Nice maintained walking/running trail along creek. Quiet and peaceful. Nice water fall for photo opportunity.
I had a very great time there. The waterfall is very beautiful
Nice little park with some good views. The flow of a river always makes it relaxing
Great place to come and relax. i didnt walk the trails too far, it did advertise boating. i saw many people fishing, but not catching anything. very unique place tucked away in a neighborhood area.
Great little park with plenty of hiking and biking trails. Saw a beautiful waterfall and got to cross just below it using some of the natural terrain. Well maintained park! Dog friendly.
I just love walking here. The waterfall looks amazing during the winter months as well. Love the trees too. Hug a tree!
Wonderful place with small waterfall. Good place to relax / hangout with loved ones. Highly recommended for waterfall pictorials in lynchburg area.
Nice scenic spot to stop for a break if youre biking, running or walking by. Also, nice spot if you would like to picnic or sit and listen to the rushing water instead of biking, running or walking. Theres a small parking lot in this area so it is very accessible.
A mess during high water or when there has been heavy rain, but a nice place to sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere
