Off I-90, this modern hotel is 2.9 miles from Black Hills Airport, 12.6 miles from historic Deadwood and 13.4 mile from Broken Boot Gold Mine.Subdued rooms have desks, flat-screen TVs with cable channels and coffeemakers. There's also free WiFi and high-pressure showerheads in the bathrooms, plus kids 19 and under stay free with an adult. Suites add living areas with pull-out sofas and minifridges.Amenities include an American pub (where kids 12 and under eat free), indoor pool, 2 whirlpool tubs and air hockey games. There's also 2 boardrooms, an adjacent conference center for 1000 guests and fitness/business centers, plus free parking.
Attended a convention here. Hotel and rooms need some TLC but a great place to have a large convention. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The bed and bedding is comfy. The room is spacious and fairly comfortable. But, the bathroom and shower needs updating!! It was clean but awkward, crowded and not planned well logistically. Come on people: lets modernize the rooms! The Lobby was modern and inviting, but once you start walking down the Hall, the "modern" ends. The price was reasonable, and we are "out of tourist season" now. The very best part is Lucky 13s Bar and Grill (attached)!! Excellent service, food and pleasant atmosphere and ambiance! 10 stars for Lucky 13!!!
Great place to land to get some rest while on vacation. Room was awesome. Lucky 13 bar/grill inside and our meal was tasty.
Holiday Inn- Spearfish is located right off the interstate near an Applebees, WalMart, a gas station and a few other helpful places. Our room was clean and the bathroom was a good size. The room was a bit dated, the pool was freezing and the layout was different than most Holiday Inns that Ive stayed in. Breakfast is not included in the price and the coffee bar wasnt always available like weve come accustomed to in most Holiday Inns.
The girl at the front desk (gages in earswas the absolute best!! So friendly and helpful. The hotel was huge and it took me the 3 or 4 days to get used to it. I gave it 3 stars, because the ac was not cool enough nor did it blow very hard. The noise with the construction was very disturbing as well. I understand a sign was posted about it, but I also feel like it should have been an option for the guest to make if they wanted the room or not. The pool area was also nice and big but the ac in there shouldve been turned on, especially when people are socializeling. Other than those little things, it was good.
We had a bad experience at this hotel. Im not normally a complainer but long story short, our room wasnt clean, had a bad odor and very dated. After complaining to the front desk, they moved us to another room. We carried our things to the new room on the second floor. The door was cracked. The beds had not been made and room had not even been cleaned from the night before. They tried to put us in a third room but by this time we were pretty disgusted. We left the Holiday Inn and stayed at the Hampton Inn in Lead. Ive stayed in many Holiday Inns but I think this was the worst.
A failing Holiday Inn. Many items barely work. Poor Wi-Fi coverage in room. Old, worn building and rooms (needs full refresh and upgrade). Poor services (e.g. limit coffee available hours).Basically, your typical worn-out Holiday Inn.UPDATEMore items not working in room. Changed to 1-star.Probably worst Holiday Inn I have stayed at in over 50 years.
The rooms are dated! We got here and turned on the ac being poolside and it started smoking! Our fire alarm went off. Our fridge made a very loud buzzing sound and the cabinet it was in, didnt shut all the way. I paid $300.00 for one night! However, the beds were very comfortable and clean! Then we ate at Luckys the restaurant attached. It took almost an hour to get drinks and put in our order. The food was good but we filled our own coffee in the lobby because we never saw our waitress except one time to see how everything was and to give us our bill.
Extremely odd but comfortable and clean. Our room had a balcony facing the pool which was kind of interesting... Despite having the door closed you could still hear children screaming pretty late into the night. Not the best thing to hear when youve had a long day of traveling and need to sleep. Other than that, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Good for the price.
Its an old hotel. The wallpaper was coming off the bathroom walls, there were lots of paint chips in the door jam. No continental breakfast. The pool area space is fantastic for gatherings. The beds were super comfortable. The lobby is nice and newly renovated.Overall, its a good hotel. Its not great but its not bad.
