Overlooking Centre Square, this modern budget hotel is adjacent to the Cleveland Shopping Centre. It's 3 minutes' walk from MIMA art museum and a 6-minute walk from Middlesbrough train station.Laid-back rooms provide complimentary Wi-Fi, as well as flat-screen TVs with satellite channels. Some rooms feature sofabeds, desks and/or views of the square. Kids 17 and under stay with an adult for no charge.A complimentary breakfast buffet is served in a casual dining room. There's also a 24-hour cafe/bar and a business centre, and parking is available for a charge.
This hotel was absolutely fine but nothing more than youd expect from a Holiday Inn Express. My only real problem with it was the was it was laid out, which was two floors of rooms that were essentially on a quarter mile long corridor. My particular room was near the far end from reception meaning I had a really long walk. However, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good and the rooms were clean and well looked after.
Great no frills hotel, near the town centre and the railway station. The room are fine for a short stay, some pleasant views from som of the rooms.Staff are polite and approachable.Breakfast a little limited for vegetarians. The parking is always a little awkward to get in and out easily, also adds additional £5 to your bill for the overall stay.
3 stars, arrived here last night and the staff are good plus friendly, downside would be how they asked for infomation and got it filled in, after that long corridors followed by a 5 minute walk for a room.2 stars got knocked off, the location for the area is easy accessible, just stairs and long corridors along with the room, got into the room and discovered comfy beds, however adding breakfast in a £75 room! Its kinda not worth the price.Never ate our breakfast here since the amount of people there, left without having breakfast, disappointed the price could not be dropped for a change to no breakfast, overall though the holiday Inn is a good hotel, just do not enjoy extra charges for services we do not use. With a minor change in the service, it would be worth a 4 star to 5, just long corridors, confusing stairwells and services that can not be denied, hence the £75 and not £65, its not worth the extra £10 for those who have budgets, overall though definitely recommend being here, just please do not have extra charges for services that those who do not require it.
Good location for city centre and friendly staff. The bad news is the hotel is very dated and expensive for what it is. The decoration and feel of it lags far behind other holiday expresses and decades behind the newer premier inns which I would recommend. Either that or stay at Jury’s.Breakfast was a farse, it was just so busy as the hotel is huge with such a small breakfast area. I also felt sorry for the staff who were running about as fast as they can changing food over and clearing plates, but the whole breakfast area requires as complete design rethink, which needs to be 2-3 times the size at least! The beds and rooms are not great either, expensive for what you get
Had a fabulous stay! Every member of staff we met was welcoming and friendly, room was great clean and tidy.Could have done woth a bigger room as we had 3 adults in one room but all in all was fine!Breakfast was good also.I also would like to thank the staff and housekeeping so bloody much for finding my purse and letting my little brother pick it up at 3am in the morning!!Nothing is to much bother. Will definitely be returning here on our next trip to Middlesbrough 🥳🥳🥳
