This contemporary hotel is a 2-minute drive from the nearest Metra rail station and an 11-mile drive from O'Hare Airport. The modern rooms come with desks and flat-screen TVs, plus ironing boards, premium cable channels and coffeemakers. There's also free WiFi and high-pressure showerheads in the bathrooms, and kids 19 and under stay free with an adult. Suites add separate living spaces with sofa beds.Amenities include an on-site American restaurant and bar (where kids 12 and under eat free), an indoor pool with a whirlpool & sauna and a fitness center, plus free parking and a local shuttle.
The lobby and restaurant areas are pretty nice and have been remodeled. The rooms are dated and in need of an upgrade or two.Very friendly staff and great food.
Room was ok. TV was worthless with such a dark picture. Holiday Inn, you need to stop buying LG.What did it for me is the early wake up surprise of the shower nozzle half way intact. It was apparently broken by someone before me and the hotel didnt bother to report it to maintenance, or maintenance didnt feel it was important enough. So sink shower it was for me, due to early flight. Of course the sink was clogged, so that didnt work out too well. The kicker was the morning desk clerk who first accused me of breaking it over my stay [late check in night before] then said he would let maintenance know and sent me on my way.As a heavy traveler and loyal Holiday Inn guest, a place like this will make me consider the competition.
Had such a great stay at @holidayinn in itasca || perfectly safe Neighboorhood not far out of the city and away from the heavy city traffic !! Great hotel, staff was so friendly and kind !!! They even comp’d our breakfast ! Clean rooms, my bed was comfy. They are also renovating and further beautifying the rooms.Downstairs lobby is really grand and I loved the Christmas tree decor ! Would recommend staying here ! Looks like it’s a bussiness hot spot many people staying there for bussiness.#socialmediapromo#socialmediainfluencer#hotelsandresorts#holiddayinnitasca#holidayinn#ignitehospitalityservices#hotelphotography#workandtravel#itasca #chicago#illinois
Rooms are very dated and the cleanliness has a lot of room for improvement. While checking in a staff member was yelling at a customer on the phone that there was nothing he could do to help so he would like for them to quit bothering him. TV service comes in and out all the time no matter the weather condition which there is nothing going on tonight and still the reception is hit and miss as it was yesterday. Front desk staff does not like to be bothered with any concerns or questions.
Love this place, we do 4 small “getaways” a year here with the kids and have had 3 parties here and will continue to have them here. Food is delicious! Their indoor pool is huge and always clean, rooms are clean as well, we have never had any problems. They offer FREE breakfast that is actually delicious and they have an awesome variety to choose from. Staff is friendly, Ramiro has always treated us very well.
The staff was Nice and the food offered at my work conference was delicious. The rooms left something to be desired. My room smelled strongly of mildew. During lunch gratitude he was automatically added to my bill without option. My hotel room television remote would not turn the TV on and off therefore you had to manually turn the TV on and off it did however change channels. I was here for a work conference so I didn’t have the option of staying else where.
I was really impressed with my stay here. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful during check-in. My room and the entire hotel were as clean as you could hope a hotel room would be and I got a great night’s sleep in their cozy bed. This a perfect hotel for anyone that is trying to pass through Chicago without going through the hustle and bustle of one of America’s busiest cities. Stay here if you want to be in a nice yet secluded area. I would call this another positive Holiday Inn experience!
This Holiday Inn is disgusting. The room was dirty when I arrived. The surfaces are dirty with food and dust. The tub had hairs in it. House keeping wont answer. Front desk doesnt pick up. House keeping put dirty sheets from the floor back on to my bad. The surfaces are dirty with food and tub has hair. This disgusting. Never again.
This place was cozy. I know i just said cozy and hotel in the same sentence, but it was that. The staff was very nice & on point. The front desk lady wasnt just pleasant on the eyes but she was quick to come from behind the counter and help us . I was very appreciative of that kind of service.Full Disclosure, We are a Holiday Inn family. So travel close or far i perfer them & this is the reason why. Thank You HOLIDAY INN staff....5 STARS and nothing else would do..
The hotel was renovated about ten years ago and it is a great space for parties or conventions. The food at the restaurant was fantastic! They have a great bar space too for get-togethers or a drink on the weekends. Also, the customer service was great. The waiter ran after us to give our two girls an ice cream treat. (Even after my youngest was a total nightmare all through dinner).
I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Chicago West in Itasca, Illinois. The room was large and very comfortable. Everything was clean and well kept. I also enjoyed using the fitness center which was well stocked and maintained. #fitness #greatsleep #gameroom
Holiday Inn Itasca hosted a mini-Comic Con art show for us where my staff and I stayed and also rented their ballroom space. The rooms themselves were very clean. The gym was very convenient and they even have an arcade to entertain the kids. The front desk staff which comprised of John, Justina, Jessica and Ramiro were incredibly friendly and eager to give us rides to various restaurants on those times when we did not eat at the in house restaurant which had really good food too. I set up the event with Sandi Schuda who was so incredibly easy to work with and met all my expectations and more. This includes accepting 3 pallets of product and about 20 additional boxes. She also assisted us in having some of it picked up too - of which they did not charge me for by the way. The Hiltons and Marriotts always charged me for receiving. Since Sandi was off on the weekend, she introduced me to other members who took over in helping us: Martin, Francisco, Esther, Elvis and Gerrardo. Its wonderful to work with people who are motivated and work hard which literally everyone here did. That and the kindness and welcome they all constantly did makes this a great hotel.
Hidden GemI was looking for a hotel just outside of Chicago for my band to stay that was of good quality and would still fit our budget. Hotels in Chicago are so expensive and the parking is even worse. This location was perfect. It sits tucked back in an area surrounded by reputable businesses such as Mercedes Benz. Not a lot of traffic and plenty of space with FREE parking. I was even able to park my truck and trailer with room to spare. The staff was on top of their game; friendly and responsive. The hotel rooms were clean, the decor was current and trendy, and the beds were very comfortable. Well be back for sure!
I have been to this hotel several times with the American Elegance pageant system. They are so nice, accommodating, and helpful. The food is good and the rooms are clean.
This was a quick stay for my husband and I as we were visiting Chicago for a weekend. The people and service was friendly, the room was ok. The bed was always clean an and the room was spacious, however the bathroom was not which we had to complain about a few times. The fire alarm went off once which was scary, they stated that it was just a glitch though. The breakfast was absolutely delicious though, and the hosting in the breakfast room was a friendly atmosphere.
Whirl pool was cold, sauna off, some staff are rude, not all, second experience and its bad, ordered food and tipped recommended gratuity for over cooked and slightly burned food. Only stayed here again because of location, never again though, didnt offer to do anything about bad experience except ask me what could they do, what do you think, seriously?
Here for part of the day for a Photography Show/Sale. The people at this place were very personable and helpful, made the day work well. Let me park in front drive for awhile with all my gear. Friendly service and desk help. My only recommendation is to update the place a bit, may already be on it. Thank you!
Clean and comfortable; feels like it could use some updating. Some staff were great and others were not at all helpful. Our room wasnt cleaned one day, when we called the font desk to have it made up while we want to dinner they told us they couldnt find anything because housekeeping had left for the day. I asked if someone could at least pick up our dirty towels and leave a fresh set I was told that they didnt have anyone who could do that either.
Great staff, great restaurant in the lobby. Excellent breakfast! Close to Medinah & Cog Hill (golfers will appreciate).Rooms need updating...when they do, itll be a 5-star review
Well, the bed was comfortable and the staff at check in was friendly. The fight in the hall outside my room at 3am, the pot smell coming into my room around then, the heater that rattles like a tin can, and the tub that drained incredibally slow after a shower were not so good. The rooms need maintenance. As I left, I mentioned the hallway incidents to the staff and they seemed to think that I was joking. I wouldnt stay here again. If you do stay here, ask for a room that doesnt have 290. Open or closed, the window makes minimal difference in noise.
Nice clean hotel. Good facilities. The interior was up to date and modern. Nice pool. The restaurant was very understaffed. Everyone in there at dinner waited over an hour for their food. Beds were full size not two queens.
I was here for a work meeting in one of their meeting rooms. The staff was excellent and the provided lunch was better than expected. The only issue was the provided projector was a little outdated and not very clear. Still excellent place for off-site meetings and very affordable.
Claims to be 100% smoke free but I must have smoked 40 cigarettes involuntarily in my room last night. I had to shut off the heater to keep the smell from being so bad. I had to choose between breathing and freezing. Horrible experience. None of the appliances in the room worked, I have to assume electrical issues since they were all plugged into the same outlet. This property needs a lot of work.
Service was awsome! They were very accommodating, especially the people at breakfast. The rooms were kinda weird. They smelled like paint and the doors on the cabinets were gone. They might have been doing some work on the room but still. Great venue also and good for events
Lobby is very nice, rooms are clean but look a little dated. Hotel restaurant food is ok but not great. Staff has been awesome. Hotel WiFi is really slow, they really need to update it. If Im in town again for a night or two Id stay here again, if longer Id stay somewhere with better WiFi.
They charged my debit card for three other rooms in addition to my own. I noticed this because I saw the holds on my debit card account. I informed the hotel right away while I was staying there and they said theyd take care of it. A few days later to my surprise the charges went through costing me over $800 extra on top of the cost of my room. This was after I already alerted them of the issue and they said theyd get it taken care of. Very, very disappointing.
We were attending an event in one of their banquet hall so I cant provide a review of rooms. In general, Nice, Clean, and well designed reception area. A huge lobby for guests to sit around for chit chat. These Halls are quite big and can accommodate a big gathering. I have nothing negative to say for the little exposure of this place I had.
We booked two rooms. Once we checked in two seperate cards were given. One room was dirty so they told us it was no charge for that room. They ended up charging both rooms to one of the cards given (not the booking card). After arguing with the manager they told us both rooms would be refunded. One of the rooms was refunded like said. Its been almost two months and the other room is yet to be refunded. We have called and left messages and the manager would not call back. We were attending a wedding, the bar was supposed go be open til midnight and they closed at 11. Would not recommend for large groups.
Its clean enough, but its very loud and breakfast is not included. No matter which side of the building or floor your room is on, you have noise from the highway or noise from the echoing lobby.Breakfast is laid out like a buffet, but apparently its not complimentary. That is unclear until you are finishing up and a bill falls in your lap.The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. Even still, I do not recommend this hotel.
Everything was great, except the maintenance. Anyone reading this likely has a phone to charge, and most outlets in the room were so loose that phone chargers do not work. Otherwise the rooms were very clean and Id stay here again if there was a working outlet to charge my phone.
Provided a clean and believable place to rest my head while on business in the area. Polite staff at check-in.Breakfast was standard and so was dinner, nothing special but good enough. Polite staff in the restaurant area.First night, the lobby music was pretty loud playing until I had to go and ask them to turn it off, around midnight. No phone cord attached to the in-room phone, therefore not ability to call reception.
My father booked this place and had a card in file for the two rooms we had. We called ahead and they said the card didnt need to be present and they could just charge the one on file. I showed up and they required we put a card down and pay with it, not just a card for incidentals. Then we her to the room (at 9pmand it is not clean. We booked Queen sized beds. They gave us a new room with full beds. When we got to the clean room I just wanted to watch the Orange bowl. They have a cable in that the game kept freezing. To make up for this they gave us free breakfast. Which is nice of them but that seems like just a cop out. I didnt want free breakfast I wanted this place not to be bad at their jobs.
The service and facilities were great. The hotel has a nice decor and is definitely suitable for your small to medium sized special events. Although, Im not sure how well a conference would work here, admittedly Id have to spend more time at the location. My only complaint is that the conference room was so cold that I had to wear a jacket indoors. It was actually uncomfortably cold.
Staff are very friendly and helpful if you need anything, rooms are a decent size, price is very reasonable - pretty cheap compared to others. Came here for a formal military dinner and our shuttle driver was pretty funny and very curtious. Wish we went down to the pool though!
I have been to a lot of hotels and the experience I’ve had at this one has been by far the worst. We came into an empty front desk, at which we waited 20 minutes for some assistance. The person that finally came apologized insincerely saying he was around the place. News flash if you’re paying for a reservation you shouldn’t have to hunt down the staff. We came back from a day in the city to a room that’s locked because they have booked another person for our room. WHICH OUR STUFF WAS STILL IN. Apparently the boy the night before had never really checked us in according to the manager. She was very apologetic but still we found it obscene. Figure out how to run your hotel and not wonder why it’s empty. Will never return here. Terrible coming back to a room that hasn’t been cleaned to find out someone else was in it
I would say this place is dated, but everyone else has already said that. Maybe I should mention how rude and short-sighted the staff was? No, thats been stated before as well. I was not greeted with the dignity or respect do a guest of a hotel, nevermind my status as a Platinum Ambassador Rewards (almost Spiremember. This is not what I am accustomed to from an IHG brand Hotel. The room was dirty, in general disrepair, and "worn out." It does look like any updates or maintenance has been neglected for quite a while. As you can see in the photos there was toilet paper in the toilet, and it would not flush -- I wont be using that! The front desk said that they were full, so I guess I will have to use the restroom in the lobby... There was also "stuff" in the bathtub, but the picture did not come out because of the lighting. Speaking of lighting, the brightness of the lamps were inconsistent due to different types of bulbs, but the room was generally dull. I also had to turn off the air conditioner because the smell of mold coming from it was overpowering. Thank God I am only staying here for a few hours tonight. Looking forward to checking out soon.
Everything was awesome. Found a great rate, which was less than the package offered to the wedding guests (the bride and groom werent happy about that. ..haha). The hotel was clean and front desk was very accommodating.
Not only is the hotel dated in its looks, but its dated in its customer service. The clerks at the counter didnt treat me with the respect expected of a customer staying. Not only was my reservation messed up (after I confirmed with them), the rate ended up charging me was different than what was booked. Youre better off taking your business elsewhere.
Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast is superb! It is THE best Ive ever seen in all my hotel stays across the US. If you ever have doubts of staying here, if you are on the fence, just do it. You will not be disappointed.
Very dated hotel. It is in desperate need of remodeling. The room was smelly and disappointing. The carpet in the hallway is very old. The lobby was nice and so was the breakfast area. This place is out of the way for most conveniences. The gym was super small.
We went to celebrate my sons birthday. It was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was a bit to cold for my liking but the rest of my family has a good time.
Rooms are clean . I was very happy with the hotel until yesterday morning that I was waking up my son and I notice something black on his leg . Paid close attention and it was a bed bug . Called the front desk . They didnt apologized or nothing they just moved us to a different room . Room # where bed bug was 102 . This was my 1st and last time going to the hotel . Dont waste your money coming here unless you want to take bed bugs with you ..
I was part of a group, upon check in the front desk couldnt find the proper information and stated I would have to be build and refunded later. This came after waiting 15 mins to check in. Finally get assigned our room, we go to it and discover our "window" is actually a sliding door that opens to the lobby of the hotel, which had very little sound proofing. There would have been little chance of sleeping in the afternoon because of it. The next morning noise including loud music started up again about 8am. The room also ran warm, however the air unit in the room appeared old and not in great order. When running it was loud enough to be difficult to even have a conversation, much less sleep. The rest of the room was also pretty poorly taken care of, there were several spots of peeling paint, poor craftsmanship and bad design. Finally at check out I went back to the desk, they still had not figured out the payment issues. Their suggestion was be reimbursed from my company rather than figuring out their error and doing it right. Finally after suggesting to look at how the other rooms in our block were being billed they seemed to figure it out. Well see in a few days once the charge comes off my card.
The rooms are old. The lobby looks wonderful but the rooms are deceptively bad. There is no free breakfast it cost 10.99 for the limited breakfast buffet. Ive had free breakfast buffets much better than this. I booked for a king bed but since it was convention week i was thrown into 2 double beds. They didnt do anything to compensate for it.
Was there for a small game convention, didnt stay in a room. I did eat breakfast at the restaurant, and the service was excellent (ordered from the menu as opposed to eating from the buffet). The bathrooms are nice & clean. So were the ballrooms that the convention was held.
Little older hotel. Musty smell in all rooms. If you have allergies maybe not the best place to stay. Tried two rooms in hopes it was going to be better. 4 floor lobby side and 2nd floor highway side. Not a lot of difference.Positive note. Staff was friendly and eager.Hope this review helps.
Ive stayed here several times, usually 5 or 6 days each time while training at a nearby company office. Friendly and cooperative staff. Called before hand to see if my room had a microwave and mini fridge. Was told they were available on request. When I arrived they were in my room. Food at the on-site restaurant is pretty good. Theres a breakfast buffet thats free with a coupon provided by the front desk at check in.
Average hotel, nice lobby, maid service was adequate. Pool we a bit cool, and hot tub had no working jets. Some rooms had fridge and microwave, some reason ours did not.
This hotel is made great by the fantastic staff who work there. They truly give you wonderful service and make your stay a breeze. After my first stay at this hotel, I knew I would never want to stay at any other hotel in the area. Juan and Christina behind the front desk are so helpful and kind! Mian, the bartender, is an absolute joy. Bottom line - the staff members go above and beyond to deliver world class service and make your stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area. Thank you!
First the good: my room appeared to have been recently remodeled and was comfortable and clean. The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. Now, the bad. The air-conditioner in the room sounded like a 747 and cycled on and off very frequently. It was impossible to watch TV without constantly turning the volume up and down. Which is just as well, because although there was a nice enough (app32" hi-def flat screen, it only provided 26 strictly low-def channels.I was here for a conference, which ended at 4 pm. Which apparently was still too soon for the cleaning staff to get around to my room. I found them still working the halls a few rooms short of mine at 4:30, so I had a choice of not going to my room or leaving it dirty. I left it dirty. The halls stink like cigarettes, and the common areas (halls, elevators, stairways, etc.are decidedly dingy. The restaurant/lounge has the atmosphere of a Dennys. No menu is posted, so I didnt chance it. I expect a big chain like Holiday Inn is rather consistent when it comes to quality control, so Ill be staying elsewhere in the future, no matter what city Im in.
