Rosewood Hotel's elegant, chandelier-decked space and courtyard for a traditional British menu.
Beautiful venue, amazing staff and great food. The pies are unreal! They couldn’t have done more for us. They came out with a birthday surprise and it just topped off a great evening.Absolutely worth a visit.
Was there for lunch yesterday. Service was top notch and the food was amazing. You have to try the pies, I had the chicken and mushroom, so tasty and freshly made to order. Can not wait to go again
Ive been here more times than I can remember and they have nailed it every single time, no exceptions.Great food, nice wine selection, excellent service and a nice location.Definitely one more for business lunches/dinners or casual catch ups with friends, rather than a typical date venue. In the warmer months, the outside area is absolutely lovely (and maybe thats more a date spot! And they do also have patio heaters when its a bit cooler out there.Top notch restaurant.
An absolutely brilliant restaurant! Atmosphere and decor is really nice with a lively and warm environment. Staff were very professional, friendly and atge tube. Service was quick and most importantly, the pies we had were absolutely delicious. Yes, the menu is expensive, but this place is worth visiting for a special meal!
Beautiful venue, unfortunately the service could not be matched.Visited on a Monday morning for breakfast, unfortunately without a reservation we were unable to be seated - understandably - so we made a reservation for the following day. When we arrived, our table was not ready and we needed to wait a few minutes to be seated. Someone offered us a beverage right away but we then waited 19 minutes before having to flag someone down to take our order.Upon ordering our food, it was brought out fairly promptly. We ordered pancakes and waffles with a side of egg. Pancakes were layered with a berry compote, so no additional syrup was needed; however my husbands waffles were quiet dry and served without syrup. We were not acknowledged until the end of the meal. We were served 2 eggs and 2 complimentary sausages (were not requestedon the side, I believe as some compensation for the delay in taking our order. This was a kind gesture, though I would have preferred to receive maple syrup with the waffles to enjoy what we did order. My pancakes were good - the creme fraiche was a lovely addition. We were not acknowledged for the duration of our meal, with a server only checking in on us at the end of our meal.Overall, servers were kind, the venue was beautiful, the food was good but not worth the money spent (approx £50 for 2 adults). The experience could have been improved with more service.Ultimately, I would not recommend this restaurant, nor would I return.
Stunning venue, superb customer experience, divine food! I just wish Id had more of an appetite after running the London Marathon....my friend had to eat my congratulatory dessert!
Caught up with an old friend in this incredible setting. Holborn Dining Room is a fantastic setting for any occasion and the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Beef Wellington was actually incredible.
We had a lovely table tucked in a corner . Our food was delicious and our server Nikko was excellent.
Very nice place with great atmosphere and employees. We love almost all food apart from the desserts! Starters are quite good so highly recommended
Over all a little disappointing Nice design environment I think the host for lunch and the floor team should communicate better , the host was saying no to food in the restaurant so we went to the bar where the waitress said she would seat us at the table. Food was okay , service from the waitress was good except that despite us saying no to more bottled water they opened and poured another bottle and charged for it , its a form of forced up selling ... Will try the restaurant again despite experience
Amazing restaurant, service is superb, food was delicious and atmosphere tranquil yet lively. Decor and comfort great. Most of all, the service was impeccable
Food is very good here, thoroughly enjoy my dinner here.
Holborn Dining Room is a conundrum. Is it good simple food done well, or just overpriced? The menu reads like an upmarket pub chain. Its decor is like the 1980s. The lamb pie was full of gristle. The chicken pie is thigh meat. At £26 per pie, this is definitely OTT. Holborn Dining Room is one of those places you want to love, but the prices for what is little more than pub grub says, Sorry - no.
Lovely staff very helpful and on hand traditional menu scotch eggs were outstanding steak pie surprisingly light and dessert was classy too
Visited twice during my trip! Very nice British cuisine! Their pies are amazing! Delicious prawns as well😋
The place is huge and beautiful. The staff is good, service is slow. The food is delicious.
Food is okay, service is outstanding. It’s an aristocratic diner. It’s more hyped.Wanted to try out the original English chicken pie compared with my previous pie tasted. This place is also called The Pie Room in google map.I had better tasting pies in Canada and Costco.
Outstanding experience. Staff are lovely and very welcoming. The food is amazing and worth every penny. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates fine dining, relaxed atmosphere and gorgeous surroundings.
Ate in the Pie room. Pies were OK but a bit tasteless and nothing special. My wife had to cheese and onion pie that was supposed to be like dauphinoise potatoes but is was very dry and couldnt see any cheese or Onion. One pie came out obviously over cooked which we sent back. Beef Wellington was overly salty. Not great experience considering the price.
£205 for one of the worst meals of my life. Pie crusts stale. Beef Wellington tasted sour. Potato cheese and onion pie tastes of nothing but potato. Very disappointing, avoid if you want to enjoy your food.
Nice but not worth the money. The pies are tasty but the potato one was a bit bland and the sides are very standard. We didnt bother with pudding for this reason. Bit of a shame as we had really been looking forward to try this place
Great experience for a special occasion. The pies were beautiful and handcrafted. Excellent service. Quite pricey which will deter me from going back too often. The selection of guns was amazing.
What a fantastic evening. Food was amazing. Smiley, lovely staff. Gorgeous room. Very, VERY happy.
Not the best food I had the lamb chorizo followed by the belly pork and the white bean stew both of which were way over seasoned.Watch out for the 15% service charge they auto add because that combined with an overpriced bottle of wine meant we left feeling less than satisfied...Nice building, friendly staff but there are definitely better options for less
The chicken pie is amazing! There is a 15% service charge, just fyi.
Really lovely time eating here, it is of course very expensive, but everything was cooked very well with the exception of some broccoli which was underdone and too crunchy for our liking. The pork pie we got was fantastic, as well as the grilled prawns. Sticky toffee pudding sponge was also a touch dry, though tasted ok.
If you like a really good pie than this is the place to go!
Definitely come for the pie. The crust is out of this world and the fillings are very good compared with the traditional pub fare.Desserts good as well, although Id pass on the tea flavoured panna cotta with plum, just a weird combo with old-age home vibes. In order to get the Wellington you must come early Wednesday evening, which we fully plan to do next time.
A very impressive restaurant on entry, and great staff on the whole. However our waiter was pretty poor and forgetful, and constantly needed chasing/reminding.This is definitely the place for meat pies - so if you go for that, you’ll be fine. The plant based options were pretty poor and flavourless which was disappointing; and not great value for money to be honest.Overall it was ok - but not great for the prices paid.
Friendly service. Incredibly overpriced for average steak with no trimmings. Fries very nice, albeit extra price and extra side salad poor. (Same meal outside of London for 60% cheaper & twice as nice)
Some fancy places make you feel unwelcome like you don’t belong, this was not one of them. Staff treated me and my boyfriend like everyone else for our 4 year anniversary which is so so important, and I have not always experienced this in the past (I’m looking at you Hawksmore). The beef wellington on a Wednesday is absolutely incredible and I cannot recommend enough for a romantic evening or special occasion. Only thing I will say is we got there at 7pm and only just got the last two wellingtons. Slightly alarming because that was the whole reason we booked it! But luckily, sorry not sorry to everyone else who came after us, because we enjoyed the last ones. Thank you!! We’ll be back xoxo
Finally made it for the beef Wellington Wednesday! Starters were ok , with the crab tart as a highlight! The actual beef Wellington was good, however found that had way too many mushrooms which made it watery , which didn’t compliment the pastry at all. The beef was excellent. The side of the roast potatoes that come with the Wellington could be better / tastier! Service was good , prices are not bad for the location.
Fabulous Pies.If your looking for a pie this is definitely the place to dine. Cheese, onion and potato pie very tasty and the pork pie also 10/10. Pies £22 each and don’t come with any sides which are an extra £6 each.If I have one criticism it’s the constant need to clean the table. Although I had finished, my husband was still eating his bread when the basket, butter and my plate were removed.Dining out sure be a pleasure and, for me, this spoils what should be an enjoyable experience.Little disappointed with the rhubarb trifle (£11which didn’t quite live up to the standard of the 🥧.
The curried mutton pie was excellent. The filling had juicy tender lamb chunks with tendon. We also had the Sunday Roast beef which did not have much fanfare, but what it lacked in variety, it made up with really great cookedmedium-rare steaks.
Absolutely loved the pies, so filling and the sides were delicious. Arrive hungry! The staff went above and beyond too - we brought a cake for our friends birthday and they cut it up for her and even let us borrow a cake stand.
Well, the service was great and if I wanted a brilliant pie in a restaurant then I would come back, but I had to send back an overcooked steak and the the food other than the pies was very good, but no better than alot of other places in London. I wont rush back
This is possibly the best restaurant in London, certainly at its price. Theres also an extensive menu if you dont like pies, but the pies really are the best!
Beautiful place, good quality and British traditional food. Excellent service and very friendly and kind staff. Slightly expensive though as mains and pies dont come with sides unless you pay £6 extra for each side.
One of the best places to taste proper English cuisine. Bread and butter is homemade and amazing. The pork pie is awesome and one if the best I’ve tried. Also, vegetarian wellington is also worth trying.
So classy, best pies! The mutton curry pie , chicken pie and pork pie in that order ! Also the scotch egg is legendary!!
This place is fantastic. Really beautiful inside with exceptional service. The pies were incredible! The vegetarian option - Dauphinoise potatoes, cheddar and caramelised onion was 10/10.
Lovely atmosphere, top quality food, attentive service - a perfect evening!
Lovely restaurant inside The Rosewood. The burrata was nice and creamy, prawns were absolutely juicy and halibut was delicious. Service was also great, with food coming out at a good speed.
Saw this place on Masterchef and thought wed try it. Wasnt disappointed. Lovely ambience and gorgeous food. Staff are excellent.
This place is brilliant. The starters were delicious followed by 2 of the best pies we’ve seen or eaten. Fantastic service and an excellent drinks selection. Will be back.
The Vibe!!!!! The Pie room serving Awesome pies to guests of the hotel and public. They have this cute window to sell on the street. Due to open to public soon. Must visit! Tasty as it can be and then some!!!
The Holborn dining room has the wow factor of a grand building without the pretentious pressure of a dress code, resulting in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, the staff were friendly and helpful with a very good knowledge of the menu.We had a party of 7 with mixed dietary requirements and the menu catered for all our needs. My steak was a little on the fatty side but cooked to perfection. The banana bread desert was also amazing. Our party tried 2 of the signature pies and were really impressed with these. The cost of the food was a little on the high side but was worth the price for the experience as a whole... Although I was a little put out by the price of the whiskys.I would visit again 👍🏼
Lovely lunch followed by great cocktails. Its a lovely room, relaxed atmosphere. Food was fairly simple in conception but delicious in execution. Went with a friend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The food was absolutely delicious, the place itself was aesthetically pleasing and just a delight to be in! They were able to accommodate a buggy and we were seated on a table with plenty of space. We had a 2 hour limit, but we werent rushed and the service was overall excellent! Really enjoyed our meal, and would definitely come back!
We’ve wanted to go here for a long time and it didn’t disappoint!Great, quick service with a smile. The setting in the outdoor area is really beautiful and feels secluded and spacious. We had the scotch egg and chicken salad to start. Both were absolutely delicious. The pies are incredible! Both the potato and cheese one and the pork pie were so wellPresented and so tasty.Great selection of drinks too. Highly recommended.
