Hoi An Vietnamese Cuisine & Bar - Restaurant in Vientiane, Laos
Was hesitant to visit after seeing reviews, but was definitely pleasantly surprised. Warm tasty food on a rainy day. The soups were delicious, the Mongolian was great but the chilli lemon grass beef lacked seasoning. Overall, a great joint, and the staff were amazing.A hidden gem opposite the Fine Art Museum.
Ate here for the first time and loved it. The meat in our dishes was tender and tasty, the vegetables crisp and fresh, the flavours were great and the atmosphere was good. Found my new fav Vietnamese dish here of beef with vegetables and steamed rice. I added a combo of hoi sin sauce mixed with their chilli spice mix and WOW!! We will be back for more.
Really liked Hoi An, I got Pho and the potato wrapped prawn, both were good. Pho is better if I eat in but the ingredients were so fresh that it was still great an hour later at home.
This is the last time we eat food from here. Policy is to ring restaurant if there is a problem. If no-one will pick up the phone we cannot explain the problems which were:Uber driver did not ring doorbell (again!). Food was cold anyway (again). Spring rolls arrived with no lettuce (againand no mint (first time). Won ton noodle soup had no chillies (again). Additional won tons were uncooked (again). The food is very good when all goes well but it is unacceptable for this extent of problems and not for the first time
Dont order here, as the food lacks in taste
The food we ordered are not tasty. Very disappointed! Never again.
Rice paper rolls & Steamed pork dumplings, delicious, decent sized, very happy 🙂
This is a great place to have Vietnamese food. Its a busy place. Staff is friendly and the food is yummy. Value for money.
Felt welcome. Food very nice. Service quick, this is good if you are going to the movies
Used to be good. Ordered chicken laksa twice recently and both times the chicken had a really strong disturbing ammonia taste I threw it out. Will not be back
Food was delicious. Really liked the idea of keeping the complimentary herbal tea on the table. The Mongolian beef was so good and was enough to share. My only issue was the customer service. The serving staff looked pretty exhausted. They seemed to be least bothered to smile. Other than that all good .
Whenever l Got to Ballarat for a weekend or a Day,this is my Place for Dinner,Beautiful Fresh Food,Good value for money as well.💞💞🙏
Great food and great service! Busy little joint with absolutely giant serves so only go if you are HUNGRY! They also made gluten free battered sweet and sour and honey chicken which was delicious. They were really quick which was awesome with small impatient kids!! Will definitely be back :D
Definitely recommend getting the pho!! Quick service and the make the best bubble tea in Ballarat
One of a handful of the Vietnamese restaurants in Ballarat. The pho was good and filling. The spring rolls were also cooked perfectly and served with the traditional lettuce to roll them up in. Overall the restaurant food quality was great and as expected. Ill definitely be going here again. I didnt see three or four colour drinks on the menu but there was Vietnamese coffee!
Never againsatay skewers where bland and tastless sweet and sour chicken purile done in doughnut batter poor service I felt sick all day after eating here
Honey prawns were like bullets in hard batter, rest of the meal was passable. Not impressed.
Fresh and fast. Tasty meal. Plenty of choice. Very clean inside
I like their soup. The service is good and youll get a pot of tea while waiting. Location is great too being in the city centre.
Food great 👍Staff should be nicer and friendly to customers I think 🤔 they have forgotten to smile 😃
The fried rice should be renamed fried bean sprouts because more than 50% of it was sprouts. There was also some type of horrible sausage in it: neither were mentioned in the description as being ingredients. The “crispy skin pork” tasted awful and old, definitely not enjoyable, it also was not crispy. Considering the lemon and honey chicken are $20 each the serving was tiny and mostly filled with some type or fried vegetable or chip. $66 worth of food and most went to the dogs, would recommend to avoid this place.
The staff were wonderful, quick service and we were greeted at the entrance. They had a diverse selection of foods on their menu. The iced coffee was bangin
Worst experience ever. So disappointed. Ive ordered from Ubereat and they canceled my order after an hour waiting .Never order again.
Our favorite vietnamese restraunt in ballarat. Great food, quick service, ideal for pre cinema meals and not to busy at the moment,we have had to wait for a table in the past
Asked for Salt and Pepper chicken which is normally spicy and salty, was unsalty, no chilli ecen after asking for extra spicy!!! Rwally poor, this restaurant used to have great food when they were Vietnamese Noodle!. Terrible food dont buy from here!!!
Good basic Vietnamese. Particularly like their noodle soups and their spring roles.... Pricing is good as well.
Variety of delicious Vietnamese dishes at reasonable price
DONT BELIEVE THE MENU Im now confident that these staff do not know what gluten-free means. I inquired extensively and believed that I was receiving a gluten free meal, only to end up having all the symptoms of being exposed to gluten. The staff were frustrated at my thorough checking and insisted that the meal was gluten free stating that he made it himself. I should have picked up the cue from this that they didnt really care; they even cut me off twice when I tried to apologise for the bother and explain why I was asking.I do not trust this place for gluten free food and warn others not to make the same mistake. This insident will set me back a week or more in recovery. I wish people would take Ceoliac Disease seriously when the diner is making ever effort to look out for themself!Minus this problem the food was ok, on the lower side of average, the same with the service. I would have otherwise given them 2 stars.
Ordered roast duck on rice. Was mostly bone with small sharp shards of bone which I nearly swallowed. The vegetables were tasteless and watery. They didnt send the broth with one of the soups and put egg noodles instead of rice noodles. The docket clearlyshowed rice noodles. The duck soup also had a lot of bones in it. Easy to choke on. When we tried calling, the phone was constantly engaged so we couldnt get another broth and had to divide the one we had between soups even though they werent the same soups and should have had different broths. The rice paper rolls and spring rolls were tasty as was the rest of the order but really annoyed they didnt answer their phone.
The best spicy beef noodle soup in town.
Complete rubbish, the pork in the pork rice-paper rolls was off, and the beef pho was fridge cold, had to heat it myself, the herbs were slimy, paying a premium price for rubbish, AVOID!
If i could give a half star i would. My partner and i ordered the crispy chicken pho and dumplings and boy was it bad. The broth had a distinct tang to it and was oily. As for the crispy chicken it was soggy and the vegetables tasted like they were straight from bag in the freezer. The dumplings were luke warm and firm without much flavour, again i suspect from a packet. Save yourself a night spent with your head in a bucket and go somewhere else!
nice food, very large portions, served piping hot..would definitely go there.
The staff is not really welcoming costumer service was poor I ordered take away and didn’t gave me any cutlery or spoon for my pho soup. But I like to gave a 5 star on my salt and pepper squid and my soup it’s very tasty. But above all it would been better if the costumer service will improve. Don’t forget to put Cutlery and serviette.
Amazing and so reasonably priced! Fantastic portions and lovely service. Can definitely recommend the satay chicken sticks
Love this place. Price is great for how much food you get. Authentic and healthy. I go here for lunch during work and actually feel great after eating. 💯 my favourite restaurant.Small things here also like the free tea 🍵 while waiting for your food and the lettuce under the chicken and free sauce I didnt no it came with it all adds up.
Absolutely delicious. Ordered the veg fried rice and veg clay pot through Uber. YUM! Larger portions than I expected. Full of fresh veg and flavour. A new favourite. *I have to edit because it seems to be very hit and miss here. After ordering tonight I had to throw away half my order it was that bad. The only part of my meal that was nice was the spring rolls sadly.
Ordered 2 beef combination noodle soups for takeaway. The employee who answered the phone said it would be ready in 5-10mins. I was there in 6 mins and when I arrived my takeaway was already packed and left on the table. I came back to my hotel and found the soup to be was very salty and full of msg. Most importantly, the soup was less than luke warm. I was unable to consume the noodles with the near to cold soup. I had no access to a microwave as I stayed at a hotel so was unable to heat the food up.The cooks should to be responsible for heating the soup hot enough to cook the noodles and beef that came with the order. This is not good enough!A bad experience for a tourist.
I hate doing this, but I feel I have to.I love Pho. I usually eat it around once a week. There are 3 Vietnamese restaurants in Ballarat. Only one delivers. I ordered it delivered once before and it was easily the worst pho I have ever had. If it had been the first bowl Id eaten, Id probably never have had pho again. The broth is cold, the noodles are hard, and I was left with a thick film of fat on my lips after, that Ive never had with any of pho. It has been over a year. I decided to give them a second chance. Unfortunately it has not improved.
Amazing food, prompt service and good staff. We loved the Avocado smoothie, the Tropical Tea they really made us fell in love with the Restaurant.Highly recommend it!
I wanted to give zero star, but it wasn’t possible. The person took the wrong orders and then came back blame the customer. Very disappointed! What’s more disappointing is the food tastes horrible too ! The texture of the meat is like leather. The food smells so bad, we had to throw in the bin and take it outside.Poor communication skills. Talking foreign language to co-workers while serving customers. Very disrespectful. Thanks for ruining our night.I recommend not going there if you don’t want to waste money like me.
Took almost an hour for food to arrive, requested for tea on 3 occasions and was told to wait each time. Ordered 6 different dishes, good quantity but averaged 3 stars out of 5 for taste. Communication poor. Would not recommend.
I tried sweet and sour pork and also fried rice with pork. With Vietnamese cuisines, pork is one of the trickiest ingredients so if you don’t mind pork and want to see how good a restaurant is at cooking Vietnamese, certainly try something with pork. Good news is they are good! Pork was fresh, it didn’t smell off, presented well, way to go! 5-star chef.Fresh vegetables were not quite what I expected, and it’s a 2-star.The restaurant door was kept open and there were flies 🪰 flying around. This is a serious issue that some don’t take seriously.Overall 3 stars, but I definitely recommend this place.
Good hospitality, quick service and food taste good.
I should have checked before to get into the shop. It was the nearest vietnamrse resturant and food was very plain. Felt like they already made rice roll before and just served to customers. Too hard to chew and had it. :(Would not recommend to anyone!
Worst dining experience ever. Food was disgusting. Inedible. Very rude customer service. Not to mention the place was filthy. Bring in the health inspectors.
I went here on Saturday and was expecting a good day. The food is good, but the waiter with the short blonde hair is extremely rude and would ignore me when I called for her and give me dirty looks.i think the boss should talk with her. I am very disappointed and will not come back.
Stumbled on the Hoi An. What a wonderful surprise. Food was amazing. Our three boys loved it so much begged to come back soon especially for the calamari and honey chicken.Reasonably priced, big plates of food and fast service. We were really happy with our first experience and will return.Yes the atmosphere could be a little warmer - but we were really happy overall.
Absolutely revolting; food was oily and had no taste. There was so much MSG in the meal! Tables were not clean and staff were less than friendly. Wouldnt recommend it - thought it would be better for the price and location. Rent there must be huge so you would think that they would attempt to satisfy customers.
Visited Ballarat today, almost avoided this place for lack of Google reviews but decided to take the risk. Was great, took about 5 minutes to cook a very tasty beef vermicelli noodles. Also had a mango smoothie which was the best smoothie had in a long time.Reasonably priced and polite staff.
