The entertainment hands down is 5 stars! The German band and costumes are awesome. Great entertainment and environment with lots of seating. But I would give the food 3 stars, this is why I have given an overall 4 star review. I had the jaeger schnitzel and my mom had the wiener schnitzel. Both are pounced breaded pieces of pork cutlet. The jaeger schnitzel has a mushroom sauce which I thought gave it more flavor. It was served with what tasted like dried up Mac and Cheese. The wiener schnitzel was plain and served with mustard potato salad. The portions are huge but a little pricy in my opinion. The soda tasted fresh and the potato pancakes were on point.I will be back for dessert and the entertainment but not again for a meal.

Great staff and venue. The quality of food ( I had weisswurt , pretzel, and applestrudel this visithas declined from previous standards. The beer remains top notch. The wurst arrived in tepid water, the pretzel was a cheap substitute for true Bavarian style and condiments were not offered. The strudel was presented beautifully and was very tasty. The ambiance was degraded due to infrequent German music over the speaker system. Id prefer more traditional German music instead of modern U.S. music when I dine at a German / Bavarian specialty restaurant.

Really nice salad with good mix of vegetables, nuts and fruits. Very fresh. Good beer too. Very large glass if you want it. This one was $13. Great taste. Easy to drink.

I always enjoy it here. Food is always wonderful and it’s always such a great time. I love taking friends here for the first time, they don’t know what to expect but before you know it they’re standing on their seats and singing a long.

I was shocked when I saw 3 stars overall. This place does deserve much more than that.It was supposed to appear as authentic as possible, and they succeeded. You do feel like youre in something different, than a regular drinking establishment. Aside from all that brewery stuff, like huge metal cans, pipes etc., what really gives it this spirit are those oktoberfest-looking benches and tables. On top of that, there is an authentic mid-european live music playing at all times... Those chimes really do make you feel like youre at German festival! Oh and of course, all the waiters, musicians and other crew members are dressed in German national outfits, which is a cherry on a cake!I, personally, liked the food. First, you can have something other, then traditional American-style appetizers and main courses. Second, they were made really well, zero complains on quality or something. I think thats what you can come here for, after tons of beer, of course. Speaking of beer, I like that they serve it in huge 1L glasses, because once the place gets crowded, waiters wont have enough time to refill everyone that often; so it even makes sense from practicality perspective. Service was fine too, visiting this place last on Thursday night (when it wasnt really packed), our server did paid us quite a lot of attention, and everything was brought out fast enough.I will definitely recommend to go through their list of a sides on the back of the menu, and substitute side fries with anything for whatever you get. Not that the fries are not good, its just you had them a million times before, try something else. For instance, I got the sauerkraut for my Currywurst and that was an outstanding combo. Moreover, it appeared to be big enough that I couldnt finish it (yes I had an appetizer before, but still).Pro tip: Every first Thursday of a month they roll out a Keg of new seasonal beer, while their brewmaster is telling about it and ready to answer all your questions regarding brewing processes. Then, they open it up and everyone can give it a try for free, which is a nice touch. Since its January now, theyve opened Schwartzbier yesterday, and I did like it. It tasted kinda like a stout, but with a structure of a lager; so it has more bubbles, and isnt that luscious. Also, note that Hofbrauhaus is amazing for parties of like 6 and more. With a help of those long benches and tables, you can still be around each other and hear each other.Pricewise it may be a little higher than average, but if you think about Rosemont as a place, where people from the City go, people from Suburbs go and people from airport go, it may start making some sense. We spend about $85 before tips for two, and I find it quite fair in this case.

I went out there for dinner for the Krampus event, first the place is huge and amazing. Built to replicate the beer hall in Munich, Germany, its a sight to be seen. On weekends they have live music and the atmosphere is loud the experience is fun. The beers flow but they have cocktails and wine if thats more to your liking. One downside was the food, both me and my dates dish came out tough, I had the jagerschnitzel and she had the saurbraten, my pork cutlet was dry and cranberry sauce looked like it came from a can, her roast was dry and overcooked, she didnt finish her meal. Overall great group experience and nice place to go if you want that German beer hall experience but the food was underwhelming.

Ive been to the Munich location, and this place is not as big but just as fun.On our recent business trip in the area, we decided to come here for our group dinner. It was lively, and fun atmosphere. I like that they were able to accommodate our big group. Food was excellent, sausage platter was amazing. Sauerkraut and mashed potatoes tasted excellent. Service was average, he did missed a few things like offer water to some in our party. But overall a good experience.

Dropped in for dinner and a beer. Lively atmosphere; sat at the bar listening to the band. Had the Bayerischer Raditeller for an appetizer and the Schnitzel Wiener Art for the main entree. The Raditeller was too large to finish.

The food is not great quality but it is ok, and it is on average $20 per plate, the steak was $35 and not tender or as flavorful as it should be. Fun for drinks! Live music, the pretzel is very good $15 Party of 8 we paid $295 plus tip we were not offered water the service was not too attentive, the place gets crowded. Overall youll enjoy but for me it is not a place that would have me coming back for the food.

Seems like it could be an OK place. This is the filth that they sat us in and they never cleaned it. We ordered two drinks, and the check so we could get out of the mess. One of the two drinks came different than we ordered. It took 40 minutes just to get the check. Wont be going back.

Great place to experience a bit of Germany in a fun and festive environment. Octoberfest is Sept 13 to Sept 30 and is a blast with music, games and entertainment. Great beer and drinks with a lively crowd. Typical German food - we had a group buffet including Pretzel, Pork, Chicken, veggies and Apple Strudel 🍎. Wish the apple strudel was warm however as cold just seemed wrong. Overall would recommend and go back.

Walking from the parking structure to the restaurant in single digit temperature was unenjoyable. This is the start of the review of HOFBRÄUHAUS CHICAGO.The rampant smell of alcohol, loud music on the weekend, hard benches, and slow service are to be expected on a Saturday afternoon. Expect to wait a LONG time for the food. The pretzel was nice and soft and the cheese dip was tasty. The wings were bland and didnt seem "jumbo" as the menu said. I sent it back. This restaurant was figurative thorn in my taste buds.

Friend made a reservation and we went with a group about 40+ people at 5 on Friday 11/30, not a whole lot of people showed up at other tables at the time and the waiting staffs were able to assist us with foods and drinks very smoothly and efficiently table by table.By the time we all finish about 7 pm, nearly all the tables were taken and the in house entertainment band starts playing, the entire place fired up, kids before and passed drinking ages all clapped along with the band and had a great time there. We end up spent another hour or so just to enjoy ourselves after the meal, some ordered additional drinks and shots (comes with free spanks if you ask for it), we left after the band played a second time there.Great atmosphere and great for groups big and small, place is seem kids friendly too, over all a great experience! An awesome place no matter where you are from, reservation ahead of time is also recommended!

Great meal and atmosphere. Jess M was our server. She was professional, polite and super knowledgeable about the menu. She did an A++ job. Between myself and two friends we got a meat and cheese sampler, then salads. Mine was a cucumber salad and the bowl was loaded to the top. I got two pork chops in beer gravy with vegetables and a dumpling. The pork chops and sauce were delicious. My first time eating a dumpling so I have no previous reference but it was a good filler for potatoes or bread. The veggies were salt and peppered which is all they needed. On top of their in house beer which I had the seasonal Oktoberfest this is an awesome place I would recommend to anyone who hasnt gone before to make it worth your trip.My friends and I went on a Monday afternoon so it was slow. There are large community tables and a huge serving room so almost any size party can go

Lots of fun but very unique so you need to know what youre in for. Delicious German food, communal seating, live German music, lots of noise, huge beers, service a bit on the slow side. Great for groups or families. Had a fantastic time and would come again with the right group.

I have been to this location several times and have never had bad service. The food is great and the beer is cold. My only argument is the Oktoberfest brew never stays in circulation long. I have added some photos of a previous visit. Check this place out next time you are in town.

We had THE BEST time here! There was a German band here that was so much fun! They did some traditional German songs and then also switched to contemporary and popular american songs. They were very crowd interactive too. The food was delicious... though wasnt feelin the hogs head cheese! Ha. The beer was also really good. Overall its a great place. Would be really fun for a birthday/bach party etc. Too!

A super fun place. Good gluten free options even though they are not all labeled on the menu. They also have cider not on the menu but straight from Frankfurt!!!We came here two nights in a row and food was consistent and tasty. Not many vegetable options if that’s your thing unless potatoes count. Might be back for a third day to try the other sausages. All in all a very fun place. The Austrian band was one of the better parts of the night with their Alphorn going from table to table.

My friend highly recommended visiting the place, and I do not regret accepting his recommendation. The beer is super good and not too pricey. As for the food, it wasnt something extraordinary, just decent sausage, though way too much sauce on it. I will come back for sure, the atmosphere is great, especially if you go there with a company. The place is pretty popular: we visited it on Monday and it was half full. I can only imagine how packed it is during the weekend.

Came here with my German husband and we both loved it. Service was fast and friendly and food was delicious and served quickly. We came for lunch on a week day and there was live German umpa music. He gave it an 80% for authenticity.... mostly cause they Americanized his schnitzel with bacon. I was very pleased they had a veggie burger and veggie schnitzel and food was delicious. So sad they dont have a Hofbräuhaus in Detroit.

Quickly seated without a reservation even though the place was quite crowded. My colleague and I started with the soft pretzel with multiple sauces/dippers. I shockingly loved the sweet onion sauce. It was so tasty! I ate most of the pretzel myself.I of course had to have a liter Oktoberfest beer. Delish. My main meal was one of the specials of the day. I forget what the meat was, beef tenderloin maybe? Either way, I wanted a second piece it tasted so good. The masked potatoes were very flavorful and creamy. Our waitress was great. Friendly and very attentive. There was a live band the whole time we were there. They were so entertaining and sounded great. Will absolutely return here the next time I’m in town.

This place is too loud in opinion for business meetings up front. Walking in you here the traditional music playing a see the dark hard woods and brewery that Germany is known for as well as the souvenir beer stines. Having spent six years in Germany I think I know what authenticity tastes like. This new chain is only located a few places across the country and headquarter in Munchen (Munich). Looking forward to the evening with co-workers we sat down and the large tables and ordered beer. The beer selection was somewhat limited, but enough to quench the demand. I ordered the currywurst mit pommes frite (sausage with friend friesand the jagerschnitzel mit spatzle and a 0.5 liter of original beer. The group ordered the large Bavarian pretzel and radish appetizers. The menu is primary German with English subtitles so no worry there. When the food was brought to the table, when I smelled the aroma of the curry wurst, i was immediately brought back to 1989 and the sites and sounds of my German experience as a Soldier. The band plays the classic drink songs. They roam around for tips and play the horn for the crowd and the man is pretty good at the notes he bellows. The flavor profile was there for the currywurst however, the jagerschnitzel was a bit bland. Maybe I should have informed them I would have liked the traditional breaded and hunter sauce. The one that arrived at the table was light sauce, with bacon and onion rings topping, and a none breaded patty. It was still quite good and the spatzle was definitely on target for flavor and texture. I would eat here again and try different menu items. Recommend and if this review helps give a thumbs up!WHDSM

Probably the worst service Ive ever had. One person serving an entire bar area. Our orders were wrong, and I ended up eating almost 30 minutes after the people in my party. On a Tuesday night, we spent almost two hours at the table. No refills on the waters that we had to request multiple times, and the food was lukewarm at best. The establishment is understaffed at best, and the help is in understandably poor and off putting mood. The music is overly loud. I would not recommend coming here unless you like over-priced, lukewarm food and terrible, slow service.
