The works of Montana artists, both current & historic, in a stately Carnegie Library building.
Very pleasant experience. Nice gift shop.
Very nice with even a self tour.
Small but great exhibits.
I would not recommend bringing your children here. They have demonic art up that they accepted from Highschoolers around town. They also have a transgender anatomy Artwork up. Very disappointing for the first time attending. Will not be going back. Definitely check it out before you bring your kids. These are just a few of what were up.
Small but nice collections.
Check out the artist work by Jian Renne, it is amazing.
There are like 12 art pieces but it was cool I guess
One of my favorite spots in town, cool building too
Neat little Art museum.
I didnt visit, i just dropped something off. The times that i have been to see an exhibit, its been great .
I live this museum. They do so much for the community. Its a great place for children to experience art and take classes.
A real treat and worth the visit
Here for the Plain air event.
Great artist...lovely city museum
Despite the “Community Standard” being that masks are only currently rarely sometimes “requested” around town, but literally not mandated by anyone (note: a few big box retail stores of the leftist persuasion in town have signs mandating masks but 95% of customers ignore and nobody enforces- the museum will NOT allow you the option to choose NOT to wear a mask - so we chose NOT to spend our time and money.
I traveled well out of my way to visit the Hockaday in Kalispell a few weeks ago and was very disappointed. There are virtually no pieces on display which are owned by the "museum" and the four galleries were filled almost exclusively with paintings and other works FOR SALE. In other words, the place is a gallery, not a museum (and usually galleries dont charge admission). One of the docents told me they own one Charley Russell painting but that it was locked away.(I note that the NW Montana Museum of History just down the street was very interesting and well worth the visit.)
Neat building, interesting exhibits and informative, helpful staff.
This museum is on the rise. Make sure you visit
Well done exhibits nice youth art programs fantastic
Such a lovely place to visit. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend spending time here.
Always go to their openings great collection s
If you love trains, if you love Glacier national park, see these exhibits. Watch the movie here about Glacier national park.
Beautiful art. The guitars downstairs are really neat.
Nice little gallery.
great
If you like art and history you need to check this place out, well worth the time
Have good art and worth walking thru
יוצרים מקומיים ויצירות מיוחדות. שווה ביקור. הסרט על גליישר פארק מצויין
Interesting museum.
The mission is: To enrich the cultural life of our community and region, and preserve the artistic legacy of Montana and Glacier National Park. But in my opinion the Hockaday Museum tends to be a little bit self-serving and that I dont see how it promotes artists outside of its own venue. Nonetheless Im sure it has wonderful art pieces and works that are worth checking out
Was given a fantastic tour by Beth. The atmosphere is quiet and the place is wonderful and affordable. I was even able to purchase a nice piece with grizzlies on it.
Lovely museum
Excellent place
Great museum with beautiful, local art work. Reasonable entrance fee. Worth a visit!
Lots of great paintings
This should be free EVERY day. The art quality needs increased, half of the paintings were not that great, poor quality. Not everyone can be an artist, no matter what others say...
This museum, built in the building of an old library, contains a lot of great works of art focusing on local nature and history. It was a great visit after a week exploring glacuer national park since webhad already seen many of the areas featured in the paintings. The admission fee is affordable and there is both artwork and merchandise available for sale.
Nice little gallery. Does a lot of community art with locals and kids including classes and shows.
Very nice museum.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The museum, however, is very small, in a remote location and probably underfunded. As such, there isn’t anything there worth a visit.
The sculpture exhibit and Western American art was wonderful. The curation was top notch. This museum in a historic building is a hidden gem! I loved the patinad bison sculpture grouping on the front lawn.
Great regional art! Love to see your regional artist. Saw the local schools kids show....it was fantastic. You have a lot of talented artist up there! Great job.
Great Art on display.
Fascinating art, well presented.
