Số 1 Ngõ Bách Thảo, Ngọc Hồ, Ba Đình, Hà Nội 118322, Vietnam, Ha Giang
Simple stilt home & former residence of Communist Ho Chi Minh, with relics, gardens & tours.
Lovely mid-century modern architecture.
So beautiful and peaceful. You must to go there
ok
OK
Compare this simple and inexpensive lifestyle Ho Chi Minh led versus the huge and luxurious Independence Palace in the former Saigon where the Southern Presidents lived and worked during the Vietnam war there is no wonder who won in the end.
Beautiful place
The stilt house is only a small part of the gigantic vietnamese government garden. Not very tourist friendly, there are guards everywhere, many areas are restricted to public. Would not really recommend to go see unless you want to kill some free time and would like to exercise on your feet.
Presidential Palace, a beautifully restored colonial building constructed in 1906 as the Palace of the Governor General of Indochina. It is now used for official receptions and isn’t open to the public.
Incredibly disorganized, do not waste your time here. The guards will send you from one end of the enormous compound to the other despite not understanding a single word of English. Furthermore the signs within the area are terrible, only saying "stop", "restricted area" or "no entry". Seriously, theres so many more interesting things to do than this...
You have to pay to go there 40K.Nothing special just places where communism activity was located leaded by uncle Ho.Quite interesting buildings with good condition. Could be combined with visiting after mausoleum.Entrance fee is overtired to my mind. It should be free. A lot of people thus long queues just for watching.
Nice and quick location while walking around the tourist areas of Hanoi.
Good place to visit if you are interested in history. But nothing much to see honestly, just an ordinary house with good landscape. Is fine to complete your Hanoi tour.
Nice to see how the upper class lived in Hanoi before.
Peaceful place
Lovely room for rent
Timetable is not fully transparent and easily got disappointed when being refused entry after a a long detour. The whole place requires a lot of walking.
Nothing worth making a way to this place. Just an ordinary park with few ponds in there. Maybe good for locals to go for running but not the place for visitors.
Managed only to view from outside as when we reached there it’s still close. So didn’t see much. The security said, it’s open only from 2pm. So we decided only to take photos and leave.
Waste of money. You can see it all from outside, going inside offers no extra value. All the buildings are closed down and any information in there is communist propaganda using Ho Chi Minh as a tool of the state.
You can’t visit in the house, only look outside. Bring fan and hat, it’s hot.
Dont spend your money in this museum, you can Not enter in the government place, can NOT enter Ho Chi Minh office, can NOT enter in Ho Chi Minh stilt house, just walk around and look through a glass window as everything is not open for visitors. Just a waste of money. And if you arrive 10.30am you only have 30 minutes because they close at 11am and the guards start kicking out the people. Employees do NOT understand a single word in English besides most of the tourists speak English. They just say "yes yes" even when I asked if I can stay after 11am inside the museum as I arrived late and they were nearly closing. They say yes yes, and after a while the guards were kicking us out. If you do not understand do not say yes yes! Should put other people to work in the museum as it is one of the most visited places in Hanoi. Do NOT go to this place. WASTE of money.
Cannot find it through Google map
Interesting to check out HCM’s stilt house if you are interested in him, I guess it’s quite iconic. As others mentioned you are shepherded but I don’t see how else they can do it, the place is very busy.
All museums were closed and the house you can only see from a distance, Id go but its nothing special
Place that the great leader lived
Ho Chi Minhs residence and office. just like the man, very simple. Fight next to the presidential place.
It was nice to see the history from a Vietnamese perspective (rather than the western one we were taught in schooland how Ho Chi Minh lived. However we were unaware it closed at 11:00am (nor did they tell us when we got tickets around 10:30and we were rushed onwards by staff so were not able to spend as much time here as we would have liked. However the price for a ticket is very reasonable (we were able to see the museum next door without paying, so that was kind of the staff, although the museum also closed quite soon after we entered which may have been why we were allowed to go in for free).
Good
Interesting to see Ho Chi Minh house and where he was living. On the other hand it is super propaganda of his person. Thats a bit disappointing to not have more looks on the topic. Even it is completely understandable.
Part of the Ho Chi Minh estate tour. The place offers a look back into the life and livelihood of Ho Chi Minh who brought communism to Vietnam. You can see both his home and office and his war time quarters.Really lovely and mostly recommended on a day of self venture through Hanoi.Loads of rude Chinese tourist takes some of the experience back.
Beautiful gardens, but why are we forced to traverse it like an Ikea? Just let people walk the common areas freely.
Very neat historical place to visit. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
House of stilt is the place Ho chi minh stayed. It is valuble place for us. Fantastic and beautyful place. As Sri Lankans we have seen true of peace.
Good 👍
Great chance to come visit the leader. The place is immaculate and is definitely worth a visit on a hot day.
Great chance to visit and explore the leader,Ho Chi Minhs Stilt House.but some places are restricted and we can only view from outside. Vietnamese. VND 40000 is reasonable for all kinds of traveller.
This is the second time I was visited Ho ChiMinh’s Stilt house, well maintained they allowed me to take some photos don’t forget to visit up stairs bcoz Ho chi minh ‘s bed & office room there, also visit Ho s fish tank hundreds of fish there you can feed them very beautiful place, Ho bond with nature, that’s the one reason he was build this also his simple life reflected here don’t forget to take an umbrella in rainy days
Amazing and respected Uncle Ho Chi Minh . HCM is the great father to us
Nice place for visiting. Surounded by fresh air and trees. Historic and simply wonderful.
President Ho Chi Minh used to live here, the place is very nice, clean and peaceful. Its free for Vietnamese but not for foreigners as i remember
Built for Ho Chi Minh but never really used by him. He built small simple resident on the grounds. Small fish pond and gardens. Well worth the visit of a simple man.
Ho Chi Minh lived in this simple wooden house located on the grounds of what is now the Presidential Palace. Its part of the tour when you visit the mausoleum.
Nice display of the place where Ho Chi Minh lived.
The visit route shows you the premises where Ho Chi Minh used to live and work in. He seemed to be a man of simple pleasures, and thus the premises are humble in size and pragmatic in deco (thus making it a quick and simple visit).
Come to see the life of a modest man who fully devoted for he countrys independence
Very nice place with trees and gardens, on some days it is rather crowded though
It was simple as the basic cell of human Uncle HoLOVE Uncle Ho
Very interesting place. It was the house were Ho Chi Minh lived for over 20 years. You can see his bedroom, office and gardens.
For the politic purposes, the house is mentioned as it reflects the simple cheap living style of Uncle Hochiminh who devoted his career for country revolutions. But in fact, the house was made by very high quality of woods which makes the house warm in winter and cool down room air in summer. The simple is also very similar with minimalism. So as architect respectives, Uncle Ho really lived in "exquisite simple" because at that time, rarely people can understand and reach to that level of living.
Lovely gardens and a great piece of history. Come early. Only open from 0800 to 1100
