Hisor Fortress - Tourist attraction in Istaravshan, Tajikistan
Amazing place with so much history, especially suggest visiting at sunset because you can truly enjoy the scenery of the surrounding mountains. Theres also a horse area once you go through the main gate and in the back.
Not bad 😊

No much to see
Very close to Dushanbe. If you want to get to see something unique, you should definitely visit Hisor fortress. You can get a shared taxi number 8 from the city center. Tell them “Zarnisor” and they will take you to Zarnisor taxi station. Once you get there, you can hear taxi drivers saying “Hisor.” In 20-30 minutes youll get to Hisor city, you can have another shared taxi to the fortress for 3 or 5 somoni from the city center. Alternatively, you can negotiate with any local taxi drivers. On the way to the fortress there are very nice restaurants with delicious chicken. The oldest and more authentic one is “Qarayev” (all the local the taxi drivers know that place). If you are up to something like a greenhouse and more fancy dishes, close to this restaurant you can find another place and its gorgeous inside.
Панарамы шыкоўныя, але сама крэпасць на троечку. На адзін раз.Панорамы шикарные, но сама крепость на троечку.

A great place to visit, while in Dushanbe
Architectural view is amazing
Hissar Fortress (3000 years old— located 26 km to the west from Dushanbe. The fortress is an open-air Museum. The history of fortress and legends around it are reflected in the Tajik national folklore. Abulkasim Firdovsi, one of the most known ancient Tajik poets, was also inspired by this unique creature of humankind. According to Abulkasim Firdavsi’s epic Shahname, the fortress was constructed by king Afrosieb to protect him from noble warrior Rustam. Before the 1917 revolution Hissar was the capital of the Eastern Bukhara province; and the fortress served as the residence of Emir’s governor. Nowadays it is a beautiful historical museum opened to travelers from all over the world.
Looks lovely, but was too crowded
Kinda peaceful during Covid-19
This place is peaceful. And It is relatively close to the capital, so accessibility is good.
Genghis Khan fortress full of tourists, commercial attractions
Not well furnished
Very nice place
Beautiful tourist destination
Ancient site being rebuilt was a disappointment as most of it is newly built with exception to the main gate
Restored fortification
とても美しいです。博物館もあります。10月中旬はバラの花が沢山咲いていました。入場料は要塞、博物館それぞれ10com。ドゥシャンベから片道7comで来ることができます。
The fortress is so beautiful and full of so much history. If you can come with a guide, you should. I’m looking forward to seeing the further development of the museum facility as they bring back much of what was destroyed during the 20s and 30s.
Incredible historic experience.
Good time to visit just before sunset. Beautiful views of the mountains from the fortress walls
Not much to see but to know that is a very, very old stie
excellent place to get the historic view of one of the ancient spots of Tajikistan.
Loved this place
TJK
Good place for couple hours
Its a nice place for a picnic or just family time. It has a small amusement park and hourse riding place. Everything matches price, meaning that its cheap to spend time there for a day, so respectively, you cant have luxury time there 😂. Though, its possible to take some hystoric theme pictures there. Schools could take their kids to hystorical places for a day so students could imagine history times recalling what they have learned at schools. So this place is a must place to go in a checklist of anyone who is interested in travel through Tajikistan.
Good place to visit for a half day
Good
Hisar fortress is a very ancient times fort constructed by the great Mughal emperor Zaheer ud Babar. He conquer sub continent with help of the local tuglaq tribes
Hisor fort, TajikistanThis fort dated back to Cyrus the Great, which has been captured 21 times, is part of the Hisor historical and cultural reserve. Located at an hours drive from Dushanbe, the 86 hectare site cover monuments from many historic eras. The town also boasts an eye-catching building in the shape of a melon- National Teahouse- designed to accommodate 2000 people at a time.
Its good historical place to visit. Here tourists can see the old Tajik architecture l
The hills that form this ancient fort are well preserved, but ⅔ of the gate and the other buildings are reconstructions. The Khan’s palace that they are building at the time of writing doesnt look much like the 1894 photos. The museum on the opposite side of the now-pedestrianised road has lots of interesting artefacts; the presentation of them is not bad.
Perfect historical place
Alexander married here, most beautiful people around this region.very long black hair and fair skin and very innocent people.a must visit for this small country.
Good time out, I enjoyed the horse riding.
This is a nice place to picnic, and is quiet and family oriented. Its certainly a historic site, but little info outside the museum. Its about 20 west of Dushanbe, a cheap cab ride really.
very good, child friendly, good guide
historical place to meet locals but lack of preservation.
Wonderful place.. We were there when there were several marriage celebrations.... Very colorful sight...
for an excellent museum guide
Nice historical place, but the door to go up is closed.
Tajikistan
😊
This one is on the 20 Somoni bill. It has been rebuilt recently, so it basically a new building.
This is what is called a historic site. Some restoration works have been done there. Nevertheless, it is a must visit place.
A lot of changes
