Hirosaki Apple Park - City park in Hirosaki, Japan
I was surprised to see how big and serene this park is. So many types of apples, nice walking trails in the farm and a observation deck to view the whole apple farm. Retail store has very good items.
Arrived just before 1600 but the apple picking was already done for the day. A bit disappointed but nonetheless a very interesting park with a cafe and a souvenir shop. Got a few good shots of mt. Iwaki as the sun set. Great place to take pictures and stroll around as its quite spacious.Parking is free and quite large.
Can enjoy apple picking in the park with limited quantity they set. Payable by weighing. The apple is superb juicy and delicious. The restaurant is too small canโt accommodate the crowd.
Lots of variety kind of apples and local tourists.Highlight : apple soft cream
Its a good place to visit. The apples are cheap and delicious, however you can only pick two of them and the orchards arent very big. The views are very nice, however, and theres plenty of apple-related foods to enjoy!
Apple picking at the park was fun, each person is limited to pick up 3 apples and the fees are calculated based on weight but it isnt expensive. The scenery is very nice and its a nice "relatively short activity".You could also buy many Apple products and drinks in the parks shop.
Didnt realise how many different apples there are. This is a great place to wonder around and spend a day just stroll around the park.
Itโs a must visit place in Hirosaki City that has various apple species. You can go here by using bus from Hirosaki Station for 200ยฅ, please do check the timetable using app/ask the tourist information center inside the station. I came when a festival was held, so it was very fun and can eat various food inside. Not only apple trees viewing, you can also buy some products made from apple and even pick the apple itself when it was during apple season. Also, you can see Mt. Iwaki perfectly from here when the weather is good.
Great place to relax and view the amazing scenery.
Good garden with free apple viewing and picking
went apple picking here with family. delicious and fresh off the tree. also apple milkshake is tasty.
Very good place to buy a lot of souvenir from ! All the apple ๐ product related you can think about. Also, very apple pie cafe.
During July, off peak season, the park is quiet. You can look at growing baby apples and hang out around the shop/picnic at your own leisure. If you have the JR pass, take number 6 bus from the station and it may be free with pass.
A big park/garden of appleI came during the apple flower festival but was not crowded at all. It is my first time visit an apple garden. Apple flower is not famous like cherry blossom but it is very pretty. The park has many type of apple. They are selling apple juice there as well (of course). You can reached this park by car or by bus from Hirosaki station (bus stop number 6 - 300 yen- visit the tourist information center for timetable of bus.
Experience of a lifetime for me. Trust me youll not regret it. The colder the temperature the better your experience is going to be. Go there with your entire family.
An absolute must-visit if youre in Hirosaki during apple season (August to NovemberWe arrived at 3pm and stayed until 5pm close. We did the apple picking experience where you can pick two apples from the varieties they have available that day. A guide (ours spoke good Englishleads you there and shows you how to pick the apples and then lets you choose your two. We picked kiou, sansa and tsuguru apples and they were huge and delicious. They charge you for the weight of the apples - I cant remember how much but it wasnt expensive. Some people may think its bad value that you cant leave with a whole basket of apples but considering how expensive fruit is in Japan we thought it was a good deal.It loses a star because its difficult to get to from central Hirosaki. The buses are very infrequent and the timetable is not easy to find. We caught a taxi there and planned to get the bus back, but found that the last bus had already left well before 4pm (on a SaturdayWe ended up walking back to the town centre, which took us about 40 minutes. Cycling there would probably be a good option, or if you have your own car. Its also not great that the cafe closes so early - it was already shut when we arrived at 3pm.
Interesting place. You can pick your own apples here.
Lots of apple-oriented souvenirs, gifts and snacks.Plenty of parking and very easy to get to.If you are eating at the cafรฉ , do try the apple flavoured soft serve. It is surrounded by lots of apple trees and great views of mount iwake.
You probably never thought that its possible to make so many things out of apple. Its a very educational trip indeed. In winter, the apple farm itself isnt open for picking (no apples in winter), but the museum and retail shop will still be interesting enough for a quick visit.
Good view &good teste
Just a tourist spot, not so interesting
Great place to spend the day
Visiting Hirosaki Apple Park is a must-do when you visit Hirosaki.Travelling there :Although it is hard to travel there without a car, most of the time, your hotel or homestay will either guide you there or even drive you there.Upon entering the apple park, you are greeted with apple trees on both sides of the road. The Main Event:You should head into the main building and check the apple picking time as it is not usually fixed. You will be allowed to pick a selected breed of apple and a max of 4. You might think 4 is very little, trust me, it is a lot of apples, they are huge.Side Options:Consider to take some time and rent the bicycle. Riding around the park is very relaxing. There is also a decent-sized play-ground for kids if they do get bored. Lastly, you will be able to learn about every single type of apple worldwide.Food:The apple ice-cream is great! You really the flavour of the apples in it and the ice-cream is not too sweet.Do also try the cold soup, it is weird but tasty!Ok, time for the only bad.The apple park only serves food up till 2 pm, after which, you will only be allowed to order sweets and drinks.I ordered the apple pie, thinking that it will be great... I was sorely disappointed. The pie was pre-made and re-heated, the crust was not crispy and the apple was dead.Overall:It was indeed fun and I would have loved to spend more time there. As you may know, exported Japanese fruits cost a bunch so, pick them fresh here, guaranteed delicious and cheaper... way cheaperWill I return? Depends on who I am with. If alone, no real reason to.
Great for people like me whom have not have the chance to pluck apples. Park only allows each person to pluck 2 apples from the few designated trees. Apples will be charged by weight. They allow us to roam around the farm to look at their apples after plucking. Thanks for opening this place for visitors.
You will love this Place, All Nature with Many kinds of Apple. Very good Apple Soft Cream. #HighlyRecommend
Must go place when you travel to Hirosaki, there are tooooo many apple trees and they offer an Apple Picking Session in every 20mins. Each person is allowed to pick 2 apples in a designated area and there will be a guide to instruct and lead you to the apple trees area. It is highly recommended for every local and foreign tourists.
Apple Park that is a must to visit while in Hirosaki. Great place for picnic as well. You have a chance to pick apples. It costs nothing to enter but just pay for the apples.
Family holiday goers must visit this place.
Its fun to pick Apple if the weather is nice.
We enjoyed our stroll amongst the apples trees and our apple-themed lunch at the cafe. You can also get really delicious apples here. Giving it three stars as I feel the place is lacking some English-friendly information / attractions - perhaps include a tour? Or boards to explain the apple growing process.
A very tourist place to visit if you come to hirosaki, aomori. The home of apple from Japan. A lovely place to visit
As it is not during Apple harvest season, it is just a greenery park for guest to take a stroll and kids to run around the open field.Wind is cooling and nice, albeit the sun.Climb up the knoll to get the good view of the surrounding town view.
Beautiful place to visit from late May onwards, before that time its most bare trees though from then on its often all in bloom flowering or with apples growing which looks incredible.
This is my apple and Cider place
Wished I came during harvest time. No sight of apples in winter but still worth a visit.
Great experience for harvesting the apples.
Hirosaki town in northern Japan, is the largest producer of apple and it has this beautiful Ringo (applepark, well within the town limit. You can reach here by taxi in 15 minutes from Hirosaki railway station. The park is great for a day outing, you can easily spend couple of hours or right upto sunset time. The park provides a complete experience of an apple orchard. Mt. Iwaki is clearly visible from here and it provides a beautiful sunset point. The apple store inside the park sales various souvenirs and it also has a restaurant. Apple harvest time in Hirosaki is from August to November and this is the best time to visit Ringo park. The park could be closed during peak winter season. You can find my detail review of the park in tripadvisor (pramod_PP)
Good for family trip
Not much to see, a souvenir shops and some apple fields. Not worth a visit if you have no time.
Great place for apple and cider lovers. Must try the octopus meatballs and the apple curry. The orchard was free to visit, lots and lots of different apple types. A nice view of the mountains nearby. Worth a side trip if visiting the Hirosaki castle. Taxi from the castle to the Park was only 1000 Yen (if you miss the hourly buses).
Ideal place for souvenirs
Better come here during Nov!๐๐I went there in April , no apples left~ but the view is good and you can see the mountain full with snow!
Park & Staff is good but you have to wait for another bus for 2 hours back into the city which apple picking activity is just 20-30 minutes.
Payment and pick apple you want. Lots cookies which related apple for gift.
Apple curry was less interesting than expected. Park was nice, but not much to do, best part is the view of the nearby mountain.
You can pick apples all you like and enjoy soft serve ice cream and apple pie
Relaxing. Has food and souvenir. Can pick up Apple.
lovely place for apple lover and also beautiful even winter season
The Googlemaps direction to this place takes you into some poor farmers orchard and ends in you having to reverse down a very narrow strip to get yourself back out of a messy situation. Googlemaps is not reliable at all to get you here so instead, mark it on the map and then follow your own sensible path to the place. Once there, entertainment is mostly free. The apple trees are lovely. The museum areas are small but interesting and the shop is excellent for buying everything related to apples. The cider is excellent if you like cider.
Beautiful place while the apple blossom trees are in bloom! the google directions were not great, but we made it.
