Himalayan Restaurant - Nepalese restaurant in Den Haag, Netherlands
Despite a cheaper price than most indians in Den Haag, there is a reason for that, the naan breads are tinny, for €3.5 its outrageous for a 10cm diameter nan bread. Shame on you. Further more the curries were bland, were clearly watered down and less tasteful, it is shame a shame since the poppadoms were a nice touch, but with no free water and expensive prices for drinks or any extras i dont recommend this place.
Good food
Except Tandoori Chicken nothing is good. They served Indian tea for 3 euros it was like 3 drops of tea into the glass of water. Its a waste of money. Briyani is the worst one. No raitha nothing. The compliment papad also will be served very partially.
HORRIBLE SERVICE.. The lady at serving was extremely rude.
We got ordered mixed grill (lamb, shrimp, chickenwith vegetables thai or smt, it was absolutely fantastic, highly recommended, do reservation otherwise you will not find any spot
Very delicious food, lots of varieties and very authentic nepali taste
Good, authentic cuisine with amazing people onboard. A lot of positions in the menu to choose from, will definitely come back there.
Ram and his family provide an unbelievable and delicious experience. Few words can describe, better try it out yourself
Happy to find a perfect place to dine in Luxemborg and that too proper Indian cuisine. Nice ambience and friendly staff. The employee named Tenzing was a good host and felt at home.
Sorry, but 16 EUR for dahl I can make better at home doesnt quite cut it for me. Also the paneer tastes nothing like it should, sweet and bland.. How? And why oh why did it take an eternity to make?
Great food !! Everything was very good and made with a lot of attention. I would give 6 stars if I could
Restaurant lady was very rude. No hospitality for us. I dont recommend this Restaurant for desi people.
Only ok. Had the lamb madras. Nothing special, it was a Thursday night tho.
Tried momos, raw from corners, no chutney with samosa, sweet chutney with momos. Is this even Nepali ? Recommend not to visit.
We had a very tasty dinner yesterday, lamb curry and mixed grill. Very authentic taste and definitely looking to come back soon again.
A little gem of indian food in Den Haag. The food is well worth the wait. They have a big menu. If you dont know what to get ask the waiter/owner. He will help you out and is a friendly guy. My personal favorites are the dal bat (tast like does in Kathmanduand the himalayan mixed gril.
Our order did not taste fresh and portions were about half of what we’d expect. Also they charge 9€ for two tiny naans that taste old.
I ordered Dal curry and Mixed tandoori. What was delivered looked nothing like the pictures in Deliveroo. Dal Curry supposed to have several side dishes according to the image. Mixed tandoori just looked half the portion of the photo. Immensly misleading.
Friendly staff and great food. Warm ambience.
A sham of a restaurant. Theyre serving Indian food in the name of Nepalese and/Bhutanese. Very bad service. Rude staff.
I visited 3 months ago, that time i feel Its very small place and unclean. And also i didn’t like that they decided that where i had to sit, Its really disgusted.
Food and service are excellent, but the prices are a little bit salty. Still worth a visit.
Great food for good prices. Excellent service too. Worth checking out if you like Indian food.
A nice authentic restaurant. I myself is from that region. I liked the taste here as it was more closer to original.
Loved the taste of non-veg mixed starters.. seriously yummy.. (In India we get chicken/mutton sukka masala, it was thatand the chicken and lamb curry were lip-smacking & really really tasty..the Nan was good too . the service was adequate, she gave tap water as well... So overall super experience!!
Authentic and tasty food, friendly service, and honest portion sizes. What else could you possibly wish for?
We have been in Den Haag for holidays and read in our guide book about the Humanity House Museum in the Prinsegracht Street 8. There you can hear and learn a lot about refugees from different countries. One of these refugees, who tells his very personal story about leaving Bhutan, is the owner of this restaurant. We directly went there in the evening and had an excellent and very delicious dinner. 2 days later we have been there for the second time. Again the menuwas excellent! Our daughter loves the mango lassi and coconut icecream. The owner of the restaurant is very friendly and cares individually for all his guests. When we stay in Den Haag next time we will go there again for sure.
We had our dinner here with Thali and other food items. Great Indian- Nepalese food. The owner and staffs are very friendly. Located in the Hague Centrum. A bit high price though food is delicious.
Relaxed and great food, just go in the end of the day
Made a reservation for a Valentines day dinner through a common reservation site this morning. They offered openings at every half hour between 18:00 and 21:30h and I made a reservation for 19:00h. Around 16:00h they called me they were not going to honor my reservation, they had other things to do. They offered me to serve me at 20:30h, which we could not accept. Thank you, Himalayan crew for ruining my Valentine dinner. I will never visit your place ever again and I wish you all the best.
A wonderful gem! The food is always fantastic and the waiter is amazing! Simply amazing Indian food! One of my favourites in the Hague!
A very nice authentic restaurant. Their food is good but the quantity is little. Ordering one portion is not enough food for one person. We end up ordering more than needed to feel full. The price is very high, with €15+ for it’s main dishes that aren’t filling. As an Indian/ Surinam girl I expect rice in big quantities in an indian restaurant. But with half a portion of rice, not nearly enough to cover the curry, I’m disspointed. The quality of the food is good, I’d like to eat it more but the price keeps me from it.
When asked for recommendations, the owner/manager decided to order for us and created much confusion as that was not communicated to us clearly. After some discussion in which we were told that in the two minutes since taking our order, they had already started with our food, we reluctantly agreed to stick to his recommendation. Although some dishes tasted nice it wasn’t the quality or quantity we expected. Very little meat in the sauce. VERY little. Tikka masala was bland. When booking here I had expectations of trying the food flavours. Sadly this wasn’t to be. We din’t like being pushed into an order as was the case here. I got the impression that there were a few dishes that needed to be shifted. Service was friendly, place was clean, but there’s clearly a system here in selling specific items, not what the customer wants to order.
Arrived at the restaurant based on the great feedback on Google. After placing our order and waiting for 15 minutes, we asked the waiter how much time will it take. Instead of responding with appropriate answer, the waiter rudely told us that if you want stale food I can get it right away. This was a shocker. We paid for the water and walked away as we could not really take a risk with our food. Thanks to the waiter though that in the heat of the moment he confirmed that they can serve stale food as well.
My parents, who are visiting from France, and I just came back from a truly wonderful and delicious time at Himalayan: wonderful thanks to Rams extremely friendly, kind, and efficient service, and delicious for the variety of tasty dishes. I HIGHLY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend Himalayan restaurant to whomever wants a genuine, flavorful, delightful experience while in The Hague.
Superb flavor. This restaurant is off the beaten track. But well worth it to go and find it. The spiciness is good. The services is nice and authentic.
People are great. Food is fine. No complaints given the fact that I have travelled half the world and am trying Indian and Nepalese food at Den Haag. Plus point, there is a coffeeshop nearby. You can get high and finish your craving for munchies here.
My b/f and I went about a week ago and ordered one of the special menus with tandoori mixed grill and curry. The server asked if we liked spicy, and we told him that I love spicy food. They didnt disappoint. The curry was a bit sweet, but definitely spicy. I asked about it being a bit sweet and he said it was what they make for themselves at home, except they made it spicy for me. Gotta love a restaurant thats willing to serve you what they make for themselves. Authentic. And yummy too.
Maybe the best Himalayan restaurant Ive ever been to. Maybe one of the best restaurants Ive ever been to. On top of that its a small family style restaurant with great service. A must try in The Netherlands.
Love the food and the owner Ram is attentive and makes sure the service is impeccable. Us being Indians, weve been looking for the perfect Naan and I guess weve found it. If youre comfortable with extremely spicy food, do try the Chilli Chicken. Its brilliant with a ton of coriander and green chillies and the meat is not dry and chewy unlike a lot of other places.
Great food and very nice service. Personally Im not so find out spicy, so I went for a medium version (which was just on the edge for me, so for other non-spicy lovers Id recommend a non spicy food). Was not so wowed by the naan, but the main meals were awesome
We went there with my family and all of us highly enjoyed the very delicious food! Also, very friendly and good servics
Very Average. Congested sitting, Ambience and food is very ordinary.no where close to be Asian Indian food place. Only advantage is close to city centre Kalvemarkt!
Good Indian food, though quantity is a bit low as per the price. Staff is friendly and was willing to customize the options for us. Do try their naan, very crispy and big.
Excellent food. Very tasty and very helpful staff. Off the beaten track a bit so not too touristy. Very much recommended.
Good food, low price and very friendly service. The restaurant is fairly small and cozy which results in short waiting times and a great atmosphere.
Great food for an amazing low price. Cozy atmosphere and the owner runs the whole place. Really apreciated his hospitality.
It was quite okay. Nothing too fancy, but filling and edible. We went with waiters recommendation and were happy with it.
It was really bad experience. The food tasted like something you could buy for 3 euro in the worst area and the cooks looked very dirty. The waiter did not look in the eyes and was always running in the middle of conversation. Seriously, they charged almost 50 euro only for the rice and some smashed bad cat food... and even no thank you... No words. Never never coming back!!!
