Had a fabulous stay for one night.Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Food was lovely and well priced.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will be back again.

Often stay here when visiting family. Super comfy beds in an unpretentious hotel. Busy family pub if you want to eat and /or drink there, good prices. Plenty of parking, although temporarily reduced due to works going on (which did not cause us any disturbanceand still plenty of space to park. Oh, and you can bring the dog too 😊🐕‍🦺

Visited for the first time on September the 5th to have a meal and watch Middlesbrough v Sunderland the staff were really friendly and the mini grill I had was of good taste and quality the meal was really good value the person I was with had steak and ale pie eating all will be back

Quality place cheap drinks lively evening and very nice on a summers day, massive garden space....defo needs a park and it would have it all, otherwise take a football and you can lets kids run free on field

Well priced, good deals on throughout the week. Menu has some "fun options" like cheesecake kebab and vimto burgers. You can also use Tesco clubcard vouchers towards the bill (50p=1.50)

Went in for some food and wasn’t happy with it, table’s were dirty and sticky and toilets were disgusting.

Breakfast was fine should add more drinks to the "included in deal" section. Clean place, friendy staff. It was good, but Ive had better.

Comes into its own in fine weather with the seating outside, however a reroute of the road in should be given to the side of the existing car park using an existing road off Marton Road. Young kids and toddlers are crossing the road to get to/ from the seating area. Big refurb going on in accommodation, hopefully that will extend to the bar area which looks decidedly dated, dark and dingey. Good selection of drinks which they are not charging the earth for, great plus point considering they are a hotel. Food is typical pub type grub, no fine dining Im afraid but would stave off the wolves.

Great place , staff were understanding and helpful to my disabled family members needs , A young staff member Tyler was professional in all aspects of our visit and looked after us impeccably, will definitely visit again , thank you. James

Great family pub, helpful staff and lovely food

Been going for a while now, nice and local so when feeling lazy its great to go for food been in for breakfast, dinner and tea (not all in the same day, but never say neverGreat value for money, never had a complaint about the food or service. Plenty of deals not only on food but on the drinks always look forward to the menu shake ups to see what new things I can try

Great friendly pub staff are always polite, Food is good with plenty choice. We often visit with our dogs who are always welcome and provided with water and treats from the staff. Pub is clean and tidy anything you want just ask if they can do it within reason they will.

Just had tea with my wife and daughter its the best steak in Middlesbrough the staff are always great thank you and see you soon

Went in the highfield today about 2ish. I thought with the first time coming, I thought I would try it out. The food was nice but quite pricy.Then afterwards I went to the toilets, I refused to do my business. There was tissue paper everywhere, toilets weren’t flushed & there was a dirty nappy at the side of the toilet. Definitely won’t be coming back again.

The more I go to this pub/restaurant the better it gets...The food is top class and the service superb.. The craic with Alex behind the bar is great, never a dull moment in that place....Top place in the Boro....

Popped in here for a drink, lovely, spacious dining areas, looked at the menu, lots of choice and reasonably priced. If this hungry horse food is as good as ours in marske it will be great. Staff were nice and friendly. The whole place looked clean with a nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit. Good size car park.

Shockingly awful cooking a greasy spoon cafe would be far superior. Then when politely mentioning the drop in food standards - the member of staff wanted an argument... the gentleman on the next table then said his was awful too and he had complained.Finally, I received a very obviously ingenuious "sorry you had that experience" from the member of staff... I left 70% of the food and departed.Its a toss-up as to weather the food is going to be acceptable or deplorable. This location should not be your first or second choice for food.

I came during the lockdown and the food was lovely and service was great. Today the food was over cooked and inedible. I hate making complaints and made to feel even more uncomfortable once we had complained.Dont waste your time coming.

The waitress didn’t wanted cater for us. She was very dismissive and really tried her best to discourage us to stay.I asked her where the highchairs are and she said they were all being used. I took my little girl and went to have a little look myself and found them all stacked up. Really disappointed with the service.

Firstly I’d like to say the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The room on the other hand was a huge disappointment. The shower went from cold to hot to cold so showering was difficult. The toilet wasn’t working properly neither. I’d say the most disappointing thing was the wifi, kept dropping out. Made it difficult for me to work whilst there on my stay. Rooms could seriously do with updating. There’s definitely better hotels in the area for the same price.

Meal for about 16 people. Superb service and food quality. Staff were great and couldnt do enough for you. Great experience all round. 👌

First of all, the staff are amazing. So friendly and helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself needs a bit of an upgrade, which Im told its getting soon. If it does...you wont go wrong fir sure. The meals I had there were good and I enjoyed. Overall...Id definitely recommend this hotel.

A very good Hotel, a fully functional pub with a good room for a pleasant stay.The bathroom needs attention but was informed theres an upgrade in January,The bathroom didnt spoil our stay.Will definitely stay there again.

I spend most of my life traveling and this is one of the best managed hotels I’ve ever been to. The staff are beyond wonderful. Everyone from the managers, the door staff, the receptionists, the bar staff, the chefs, and the brilliant cleaners are warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. The Highfield Hotel may belong to a big chain, but Rosie, one of the senior staff is an artist, so the pub chain decor in this beautiful mansion is meticulously placed and perfectly lit to create a magical, super cosy, old school pub feel. For this very reason, on most nights this place is absolutely hopping, and how the staff manage to cater to and feed so many people is beyond me. Its so dog friendly that my dog, who also travels around the world with with me, loves the staff here so much she falls over when she sees Mandy, one of the lovely cleaners, and squeals with delight when she sees Dan, the general manager. Its impossible not to fall in love with this hotel. I’ll be back!

Great service, felt very welcome and enjoyed every minute! We were on b&b from Saturday to Monday plus had our little dog with us. Ignore the poor reviews Highfield hotel does a great stay package and we would gladly stay in the future.Kathleen , Kenneth and Pooch Kiki

All in all my weekend at the Highfield was a great experience, the room was large and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious 😋 and very well priced easy 5 stars.

Went for lunch was awful all veg frozen all rock hard mash potatoes were like chewing gum. Awful.

Its with sadness I give 2 stars! We stayed at this hotel on our wedding night 25 years ago, I surprised my husband with an overnight stay to celebrate our anniversary but the surprise turned into a shock at the state of the room to say the least the carpet was thread bare mould in the bathroom, we did however enjoy each others company, the meal however was beautiful and the staff were amazing, we will visit again for a meal but unfortunately wont be staying over

We stayed for one night here. The over night stay was bought as a Christmas present as a voucher from my husbands son and the room was terrible curtains held up by string, bath side was falling off and around the bath was lots of mould. The mirror in the room has a big rip in it and wardrobe also had holes in it. Staff were came into contact were lovely and helpful. The breakfast we have to say was lovely though

We had 2 steaks both very nice and great value for money. The staff Chloe Chantelle and Courtney so friendly and provided a brilliant welcoming service Great value for money nice staff will be returning

We eat here as a family quite often, nothing fancy but ok for the price. I really enjoy the burgers. Shame they removed the childrens play area outside.

Dont ever stay here the place needs condemed rooms r a digrace and service is horrendous.
