We visited on a weekday during school time so not many children about. There are lots of things for children to do here. The Gruffalo trail, adventure playground, spotting leaves, trees, birds as in nature trails. Bike hire. Go Ape I think theres more but as I say we had no little people with us so didnt look at it all. The walks are many and flat, you decide the length, the forest is big enough to spend more than a day exploring and not see the same spot. Very calming and soothing walking around hearing the birds and wind in the trees. The noise of the aircraft is quite loud but soon gets lost in the vastness of space, it certainly didnt bother us, they were hard to spot even though you could hear them. The cafe served food, plus there were sandwiches to order, hot and cold. A couple of soups as well as sausage rolls and pasties. The cakes also looked good, the coffee was delicious . My only gripe is the cost of parking £9.50 for 4 hours and I believe £12.50 all day, this did seem a lot but they clearly spend the money maintaining the whole area to a high standard. You can park elsewhere in the forest for free but all these amenities are close at hand, well maintained, clean and tidy.

Had a little day trip to Thetford woods at high lodge, we used the main car park and stayed all day which is £12, less than 4 hours is £10 and reduces down to £2 for 1 hour. We went on many walks and played on various activities all around the place, swings, climbing frames and slides, even has a high ropes section which you can pay for but we left this too late in the day and didnt have time to complete it. On the walks you will come across other play areas and in the musical trail all sorts of devices to play. We also used the restaurant for light refreshments but I would recommend taking your own as the prices are on the pricey side I felt. all in all a great day out we went in midweek with the kids at school so it was nice and quiet. Will be back again.

I think that you need to look after. I need to run to such an extent that there are a lot of trees stacked up in a pile of branches that would need to be removed, because it is all the rot that creates diseases in the entire forest, in principle, to be. There are a lot of people there for kids. This is a very good place, but if you consider how the state of the territory is also a terrible kitchen, the prices for food go off scale, there are few garbage cans where you can throw garbage, many simulators for children are designed only for 4-5-6 years old, my child is 3 years old and his hand does not reach keep not on all the simulator adults can be next to the child because the house is too small. in general interesting but food and forest care and safety does not meet the requirements

It was very busy but we expected that for a Saturday. We did have a free parking card that we used, I will mention parking isnt the cheapest here (cant remember fees now). Toilets were OK, not the cleanest but to be honest thankful for a proper toilet when going out for a long walk for the day. Grounds are maintained to a high standard and the place is beautiful. Plenty of walks to do.Have also done the goape here and it was brilliant. The team were lovely and even offered us to go round again (which we didnt do as we were so knackered after so much fun).I will return here again to do the fir trail at some point but the parking fees do put me off.

Went to High Lodge to see a screening of West Side Story shown by Luna Cinema. Parking was included with tickets. Easy to park, great venue excellent picture and sound. Great atmosphere, despite a bit of rain overall a great experience of watching a film outdoors in the forest.

Went there to cycle around Thetford forest for some change of scenery whilst wracking up some mile for the Mind 300 charity bike ride, nice trails, good parking during week days, but gets busy at weekends, finished off in the cafe with a Lavazza coffee & a Norfolk pasty.

One of the best places to enjoy outdoor activities. We have been there so many times. We usually go there to have a picnic, kids play in the playgrounds and then we walk. The only downside is car parking is expensive.

Car park fee is at very good value given the amount of effort they spent to maintain the forest. Safe and relaxing family forest trails with carefully designed road signs.

Great day out with the family. Good playgrounds, good options for purchasing some food.We did the treetop adventure course - and it was actually a bit more adventurous than I had expected. A few folks ahead of us kept having "wobbles" and slowing up the course for all behind... But they eventually got through and so did everyone else behind. Its a fun morning or afternoon with an adventurous family.

Love this place. I have a 6 & 9 year old and we have been visiting here for a few years now. We always take our bikes and they have great bike trails for differnet abilities. Great main play area and great smaller ones located around the forest to break up a bike ride or walk. Good clean facilities.

Visited Go Ape. We did the Treetop challenge course. It took 2 of us, one adult and a child (10 years oldaround 3 hours to complete but that did involve some waiting as we accidentally veered on the wrong course which we were rudely made aware of by our instructor. If it wasnt for the rude and sullen instructor I would have rated Go Ape 4 stars. The Treetop challenge was easy for a 10 year old who enjoyed it but not too easy. I didnt stay longer than the 3 hours as the parking gets more expensive. We received free parking for our next visit so I would go again and visit the forest next time, maybe do the bike ride and have a picnic. You can bring your own bikes or hire them there at the bike hut. The forest definitely looks lovely and would be a great day out for all the family as there is lots to do besides Go Ape. Hopefully you get a nice instructor who doesnt try and put a dampen on your day. Ours tried too. Despite the 3 star rating, I would definitely recommend a visit. Children and families will have a great time as would adventurous adults.

Really gorgeous woodlands here. There are all sorts of activities available such as cycling, Go Ape, walking. If youre an outdoorsy person, this is definitely a must! You can definitely spend all day here and not get bored. The food is pretty good, but you can also just take a picnic and relax.Make sure you remember to pay for your parking before you leave, we saw a few cars that had to turn back as the barriers know which cars have paid up or not.

Had a lovely day out with the family, my only gripe would be with the prices of food & drink here which are egregiously overpriced. That said if youre having a picnic and enjoy a good walk? This is an ideal location on a beautiful day.

The play area was perfect for a hot sunny day. It was shaded. I also liked that there was a great variety of play areas together and apart. So I found 8t very easy to manage my 4 year olds and a dog. The food was also very tasty too at the cafe.

Lovely place to go. Plenty to do for all ages. Lots of little paths and bits to look at off track. We took the bikes and there are various trails for all abilities to go on.ANPR parking, all day £12.50 is the most youll pay. Personally thought the food place was a bit on the steep side, however it did taste good.Well worth a visit.

Been here a few times. Great place for walking and cycling but also for the children, with various activites, climbing frames, slides etc for them to find. Parking price is reasonable bearing in mind you dont pay to enter. Cafe is reasonably priced too. I wish we lived a little closer as I think I would be here every weekend with the dog.

Went to see Keane last night here (17.06.2022we had a great evening. Very well organised. We didn’t book a taxi as it was a last minute thought and everything was fully booked, we was really stuck at the end of the night. A lovely lady who worked at the venue (Jen I believeorganising the pre booked taxi’s gave us a lift back. This review is dedicated to her for being an amazing human. Thank you 🙏🏼

Went here for the Rag N Bone man concert, we got in very quickly and we stayed until the end but still got out within 20m. It was very well organised with great marshalling. We didnt have to pay for parking, but parking does look expensive so check it out. We obviously couldnt use any of the other facilities so I cant comment on that

I absolutely love it here! Second time visiting and there is always so so much to do! Kids always enjoy their day and never want to leave! Really fun and cant wait to go back again! Carpark is always full and yet so many quite places to walk! Only downside is how expensive the parking is but I think there is a deal if you go before 11am!

Great fun, lots of good outdoor attractions, Go Ape is brilliant for adults and older kids and the Gruffalo trail is perfect for the little ones. Mountain Bike trails are good, not hard-core but a fun workout through the forest, youll definitely need to pay for a full days parking!

We did the long walk, with the yellow signs which has recently been changed to follow a different pathway than what it used to. Beautiful forest, eventually comes to a very old building you can look well into. Good signs throughout the whole walk as to where to go. Good toilet facilities at the centre. Went on a monday afternoon and saw two other people along the walk. Beautiful.

Love it here. Loads of parking and the walks are beautiful and the pump track was great for my little girl who hadnt been on one before. However they NEED more food outlets on busy days... the take out cafe had run out of food and the cafe had a que out to the green. Maybe they should considerhiring a coffee van on busy days to help keep up with demand!

We adore this place. The whole setup is well thought out, and there is so much space that loads of people can be here but not get in each other’s way. You don’t need cash, and you can get food and drink here but are welcome to bring your own picnic. There are lots of picnic tables and BBQ areas, just don’t bring your own BBQ. Not sue if you have to book the BBQ areas as the had padlocks on, this may be because it was out of season when we visited.Lots of things for kids to do, from really young to really old!

Had a number of good visits but some of the walks could do with better signage or better communication from the staff. Ended up walking one of the Gruffalo trails backwards but still had a good time with plenty of distractions with carved wooden statues and musical interactions to keep the kids entertained

High Lodge is great. Lovely walks through bracken brilliant if you take bikes or rent them. We took the heritage trial on foot today with interesting bits of audio on the way round and some good wildlife spotting opportunities. Loads of people there today enjoying the Gruffolo trial, picnicking, on the fantastic outdoor play area etc. What always lets this place down is the cafe, staff were lovely, but poor layout, long queues and in the to go area today they were all out of kids food by 1.30 and no veggie food left at that time. The food here could be soo much better, if they cant do it why not let a couple of catering vans on site to give people better choice? Would advise taking a picnic until they sort this out.

Very quiet when we went. Trails are well-managed and clearly sign-posted. Trails arent very natural or rugged, and the sections of forest that we walked through were obviously planted; pine trees of various species are dominant. Parking was expensive at £5 for a couple of hours.

Came here today for the first time, would definitely return. My toddler enjoyed it so much. We did the Gruffalo trail, perhaps missed a couple of animals but she wasnt too bothered. So many climbing frames throughout the trail (some closed off due to maintenance but these are clearly marked). Several different trails to do if youre cycling, walking, interested in certain trees.Parking is easy and close to the site, no tickets plate registration (enter your reg at the pay point when leaving). Card payment accepted.Cafe is well stocked. IT IS CARD PAYMENT ONLY.
