THE PLACE TO GO! I’m from Iowa, grew up riding and racing MX and ATV, this was a point of interest from the start. I thought it would be a course for beginners but it has an awesome difficulty/ease balance. The “view” as our guide called the spot was breathtaking. Wish I knew our guides name, had blonde hair and was very knowledgeable about the land. He made it a personal experience, told us about the history and his hand in making some of it. An experience I will never forget, and I will be back with more people next time!!! The drive to get there is almost as awesome as the tour itself!! YOU MUST GO TRY IT!
We did the 2hr ATV-Tour with our great guide Tim today and it was so much fun and what a great ranch!! 🤠🇺🇸 Definitely recommend it to anyone!! 🙂👍
Called in at 10am scheduled a 2:30pm one hour ride for two people. I called back an hour later 11am to cancel and they still charged me for the ride. Pretty bad customer service to still change when I gave them a three hour cancellation notice. They never told me up front about any cancellation policy. Poor business ethics
A fantastic get away at Bair Ranch! Did the ATV ride and our guide, Josh, was very informative, knew about the history of the property, and made sure we were comfortable at every point of the ride. The views were immaculate and their space for group events and weddings was beautiful and secluded. I would suggest this for anyone looking for an evening adventure or for a beautiful location for a reunion, wedding, or even bachelor/bachelorette party!
First time on a horse and had a wonderful time. Beautiful country and friendly staff. Will go again for sure!
The overall trail ride is great, beautiful views and is about 2 hours long. The guide did an excellent job helping the riders and super friendly. The horses are sweet and well trained. The only thing that was disappointing was that there was no restroom by the stable.
This was for the off-roading Jeep tour. First I want to say, the guide we had was amazing, he truly tried to make the best of the tour but it was just not enough. First off, after being told it would be $275 for 4 people, when it came time to pay, they decided to change the price to $300 for some reason that I still do not understand. In total we paid $330 with taxes for a tour of the ranch. This was not off-roading. We never exceeded 5 mph. It was a super slow and boring 2.5 hr ride. It was not at all what was advertised. We saw barely any wild flowers, the guide stated there were multiple animals on the ranch, thousands of sheep, we never saw ANY. Supposedly the day prior they were all ‘moved’ somewhere else and we couldn’t see them. They showed us an abandoned shack, a cabin they rent for weddings, and that was it. The rest was small talk with the guide for 2.5 HOURS. We were desperate to leave but did not want to be rude. Even the guide asked if we wanted to head back early because ‘most of the people who get the jeep tours are ready to go after an hour and a half’ I can definitely see why. But again, to avoid being rude AND to get our moneys worth of the trip, we stuck it out. Please do not do the jeep tours. It wasn’t even worth $5. The same views you see in the ranch you can see throughout Colorado, you can drive yourself, can go fast, and never spend $300. As for the ranch owners, shame on you for charging $300 for a jeep tour. And even bigger shame on you for labeling it ‘off-roading.’ I felt like an idiot with my seatbelt on going 5mph. Hopefully with this review we can save someone from having such a frustrating and annoyingly expensive day. There’s much better things to do in Colorado and less than $300.
Horseback riding was the best and the tour guides were very nice and helpful to me because I didnt know what to do while I was riding on the horse. I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in horseback riding
TOTALLY GORGEOUS!I was terrified of riding horses but the guide made us so comfortable and relaxed. He matched me with the sweetest horse, Dunnie. The trail was steep, uphill and downhill, but it was worth it for the amazing views. And, he took our picture at the end!!!Thank you for making our vacation so special!
Feels like home away from home. So beautiful and breath taking!
Myself and a friend went horseback riding and had the best time. It started out with Emma and Kenyon in the office being the best host and then we had Grace, Shannon and Eric be the most wonderful guides. Emma and Sam cooked a bomb dinner. Such a fun, kind, hardworking and hospitable group of workers. Would recommend to everybody.
Myself and my son did horseback ride and dinner it was a good time and a lot of fun, the steak dinner was great. Coltin our guide was and really fun to ride with, the whole area is beautiful.
Tom was the best tour guide.
Loved it! Great for families and couples. Beautiful. Ran by a fantastic family for several generations. Must do.
Great ranch for a horseback ride. The views were amazing.
I am so sorry to see the poor reviews here. I did not stay over night, just did the 2.5 hour ATV tour. All I can say is WOW!!!! We had the most amazing experience!!! Ralphie was our guide and was SO awesome. He was very personable with my boyfriend and I, he was knowledgeable and a real great guy. The views were AMAZING. If you are looking for a day trip DO THIS, I am so sad we didnt do the full day adventure. Yes its expensive, but worth every penny!!!!
It is a great place if you know what you are getting into but unfortunately the website and staff are not informative. The basic cabins are beautiful and secluded but to get there YOU NEED A 4x4 DRIVE OR SUV bc its up a 1.5 mile rough dirt road. The staff/owners were not very present or accommodating and while they said there was a bathhouse, only the toilets and sink worked. The views are stunning, it is very peaceful, and the cabins are very basic but nice. Just either be prepared to hike in 1.5 miles or have a vehicle that is cut out or you will be at the mercy of the owners driving you back and forth and they are not flexible or accommodating. Oh and VRBO says that there are solar panels with USB ports, that is non existent.
We rented the Elk Lodge here for $500 a night plus tax for a night. SO I am only writing about their night accommodation here. The other activities maybe something better, but DO NOT STAY HERE if you want a good night of sleep! We were hoping for something relaxing, and nice, far away but yet close enough to the two. We were told theyre about 12 miles from downtown Glenwood Springs. To be honest, we were scared out there with just us and young babies. For $500 a night we did expected a little bit more that what we got. What was advertised on their website was different than what we got.-No TV/ Satelite was not working. Owner said it broke that winter and havent got a chance to fix it. I guess, ok fine, we arent here to watch TV anyways but itd be nice to have since you said you had it.-No Cell Phone signal-Very far from the main road, at least 5-6 miles up the ROUGH dirt road on the hills. Not easily to leave in and out, we were told they are about 12 miles from Glenwood Springs, but we werent told that our room would be that far from the main road. So DO NOT bring nice car!-We never received the towels we requested,.-The rooms were dusty.-We were up all night because carbon monoxide detector in one of the room with the double kept going off all night. It really beeped all night. We basically just got up and move to the open/fresh air. This was about 12:30am. We really didnt want to drive down in the dark to come find you, but we cannot call anyone because we DID NOT have a cell phone signal. We waited 30 minutes to check out, but nobody was at the front desk, finally we decided to leave and waited min on the bridge to just get out of the property because the gate was broken. The guests in front of us who were visiting from Utah waited 1 and half hour before someone finally came to let us out.Again, I am writing about my experience, which was not a good one for us, but the attitude we got when we mentioned all these things made it even worst, "we are not here to try to compete with hotels, so you shouldnt expect the same accommodation" was pretty much what they told us. It may not be the same accommodation, but the friendliness and customer service should be similar. NO? I guess NOT.
