Great atmosphere, great customer service. You really need to stop by.

You will not find a better selection or service at any wine shop anywhere from here to Charlotte. Zero pretentiousness in service, plenty of 99 point wines on the shelf as well as affordable favorites. Enjoy your $8 glass of wine or $500 bottle with a smile in your shorts and flip flops. Great people.

If you are in Hickory do not hesitate to come here. Great customer service, the orange wine is fantastic and the mozzarella is amazing. Couldnt ask for a better experience.

This shoppe has a beautiful and welcoming interior. The shopping center in which it is located is also quite beautiful. I was impressed before I even made my way to the wine racks. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I called ahead to make sure they had a decent sake selection, and to my surprise the young woman that answered the phone seemed genuinely excited to help me. When I arrived, and made my way to the sake, she approached me, ask me a couple questions about what I like, and helped me pick out the perfect bottle for me. The entire experience was very comfortable and relaxed, and I left with a smile feeling confident about my purchase. The sake she helped me select was absolutely wonderful. Normally I try to be objective and find at least one flaw when leaving a review, but I simply cannot find one. Hickory Wine Shoppe will be the only place I buy wine from this day forward. They have earned a lifetime customer. Thank you for an amazing experience, if I could give you more than 5 stars then I would.

Selection and service are top-notch. They will chill your chosen wine to the perfect temperature and the menu items are delicious.

My husband went to the wine shoppe this afternoon to have drinks and something to eat. We came in and sat down at an open table, it wasnt very busy. We sat there as the bar staff looked the other way talking to each other disregarding our arrival. We finally were approached very matter of factly; Here is our menu, Ill get you some water. We ordered a couple of drinks to decide what we wanted. 20 minutes later, no one bothered to ask if we were okay of if we wanted anything else. We decided to go somewhere else with better service, In a word.. it was like we were an inconvenience to them. Not looking to return and definitely wont be offering any praise.

This was our first trip here, but we will be back

Went in yesterday to get wine for Mother’s Day. Don’t know a lot about wine but the ladies in the store pointed me in the right direction of selections that my mom would like. Kristi rang me up and another lady was very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back for gifts and even for a wine tasting once things are back to normal! Nice decorations and environment too!

New owners & staff who are very knowledgeable and friendly! They’ve got a great selection of wines, champagne, cheese and have a few beers on draft. They also have a wine dispenser where you can sample wine or pour yourself a glass before you buy a bottle.

I was in town for a night and stopped in to pick up a bottle of wine for my sister. They immediately made me feel welcome. They helped me find what I was looking for at the right pace. It was a very enjoyable experience.

I really like the new wine dispenser. It makes tasting a few new wines easy. Staff is very attentive.

Loved the fact I could a drink facing Union Square. This Friday evening, live music and many people filled the square. Great reasonable priced wine and beer menu. Perfect place for groups for long conversations.
