Hickory Creek Park - Park and Garden in Farragut, United States
Beautiful area!
Great kayak launching park. Has picnic tables. No porta potty.
Good place to come if you want to be alone...Very small spot of the picnic table and I kayak a lot but I would not use this as my kayak spot...lol...
Peaceful quiet very relaxing park close to the I 40. Smallest park not overcrowded and the only one at the park. So peaceful all I needed was a blanket and some sandwiches my day could of been filled with joy.
Love stopping by this quiet small park when in the area - could launch small boat off boat ramp ..very peaceful close to major truck hub ..
On a backroad…out of the way.. but not really!! Peace and quiet but just two minutes from I75
Small local park, used primarily by locals in the immediate vicinity. Nice quiet spot for fishing and grilling. Most likely Knox Countys most remote, and outlying Park (because of its close proximity to the Knox/Loudon County line). However, be aware when visiting that this is a very basic park which offers few niceties (playgrounds, lights, bathrooms, water fountains, etclike you might find in the larger urban parks. This isnt necessarily a bad thing, but would-be visitors should know ahead of time that there are no bathrooms. It does have 2 covered picnic tables, a single street light, trash cans, a grill, and boat launching ramp on the waterfront--though the grill is quite neglected and rusty, so you would almost certainly want to bring your own.Unless theyve been installed recently, the park does not have gates, but does have stated opening and closing times of sunup to sundown on the sign (which seems to be a general rule for Knox County parks), and if youre there after hours, your presence there at "odd hours" could be viewed with suspicion if youre spotted by the Police, or a Park Ranger/Game Warden. The Park Service told me when I called them to get permission to host an astronomy club star party at Stony Point that there have been reports of some of the more remote Knox County parks being vandalized, used as druggy hangouts (or as rendezvous spots for drug deals), and general mischief during off hours, so even remote, outlying Parks (like Stony Point and Hickory Creekare either having automated gates installed, or are being more frequently patrolled (or both). It isnt difficult to get permission from the Park Service if you want to use the park to host an event (like a Church picnic, Boy Scout camping outing, or astronomy club star party for example), and getting permission reduces the likelihood of you being viewed with suspicion if youre seen there after dark.
Nice launch point for human powered craft.
Great place to paddle!
Great. Rarely crowded. Just very shallow for launches. Probably limited to wave runner and kayaks.
Calm water, good fishing, nice area for kayaking.
Nice small park, fishing and kayak launch
Nice place.
The ramp is not ideal. Very shallow and falling appart.
The water level was down so much you cant even fish from the bank without getting knee deep in mud. The water was very clear and cool, this place is perfect for kayaking or just hanging out with a 6 pack and some friends.
The soccer fields arent good
Nice clean easy access
This place is so gross. There is trash on the ground, there is duck poo everywhere, there was human poo down at the water, and this place is just not where I would come to bring my kids or have a picnic.
I caught my first fish here... it was even on my hook...i pit it back... it was only 5 inches long.
Unkept,lots of trash around
Under construction
It’s a decent place to launch a canoe or kayak, but not great. Boat ramp is a little torn up, and when water is high it is stagnant in the first 1/4 mile downstream. A lot of utility work going on.
Avoid now due to construction!
It has a covered picnic area a boat ramp not much parking but not alot of traffic either. Nice quiet place to spend the day with your family.
Great for fishing or grilling
Quiet place to visit for fishing out picnic...
