Heroes Square - Historical landmark in Amiens, France
Nice place to visit
This is a lovely old square with a selection of bars and restaurants. Its dedicated to the resistance from WW2. At the end is a gorgeous old town hall with a really impressive tower if your in Arras its well worth visiting.
A beautiful place to visit!
Wet pretty square in Arras which is so beautiful and wide open. A few stores with clothes and shoes however all you can see is cafes. Nice tables and windows and a visitor center at the top as well. St in the sunshine for a salad and dessert. Wonderful open space
Fantastic big square. Beautiful buildings and plenty of bars, restaurants and cafés. Lovely place to while away time.
Had lots of old interesting buildings.
Great
Awesome public architecture
Beautiful square! Make sure to try the Easy Bar!
Top ...
The square is huge and on Wednesdays and Saturdays they have venders and food merchants filling the square offering fruits, vegy produce, baked goods, rotisserie chicken and lots more. You need to plan to be there.
Nice place, but need more security, especially at night
Great place for evening drinks, sunny and fun
Really nice place to visit! Its a piece of history with verry interesting buildings
We sat in the square and had lunch. It was a lovely warm day to be sitting outside.
Great stop on way home from the Alps!!
What a beautiful CityI highly recommend a visit here.
A beautiful town beautiful square and wonderful friendly people.
A beautiful square in the centre of Arras with lots of bars and restaurants surrounding it. Great picturesque Hotel de Ville on one side.
Lovely square. Great place to watch the world go by with a beer or glass of wine.
Quiet and peaceful
Impressive square. Most surrounding houses on 3 sides are in great condition despite 2 world wars nearby. And all houses are different. The Beffroi witness of rich Guilds is remarkable
Nice tidy square, plenty of pubs and places to eat..nice atmosphere...
Beautiful place love the historic arts on buildings.
Amazing architecture.
Magnificent historic square - a must see!Splendid buildings, some dating back to the 1460s & all beautifully preserved - and free parking through the normal lunchtime hours. Lots of eateries providing excellent food at quite reasonable prices. A remarkable sight.
Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful sunset too which helped. The square is lined with bars and cafés and everyone seems to congregate here at nights. Apparently in the summer the numbers of chairs and tables outside increases too. Lets hope they employ more staff as service was a bit slow at the bars we tried.
Wonderful place to visit lots of places to chill and have a nice drink watching people go by. The cathedral has 4 giants inside that apparently are apart of the tradition
Beautiful town square with lovely shops bars and restaurants
Such an informal and lively place to meet, eat or drink. Apart from that the history is fascinating. A tourist must see, yet still reasonably priced and used by locals as well.
A huge and beautiful square, but...full of cars
A lovely square, dominated by the town hall and bell tower at one end. Look for the free Augmented Reality binoculars in the SE corner of the square
Beautifully preserved French Town Square. A delight to see. Parking close by is free.
A vast square with large town marketplace. Lots to see and plenty of places to eat al fresco.
The square is absolutely breathtaking, its filled with charismatic stores and a beautiful church.
Commemorations for WW 1 fitting and appropriate to mark the centenary in a Square given such a name and at Arras cemetery close by.
Loved Arras in general. Lots of places to eat and a large market in the belfry square on Saturdays.
A very moving experience and a great tribute to those men of France who gave their lives
Well worth a visit
Fantastic place to spend a late summer afternoon. Full of locals enjoying a drink and the prices are reasonable from most of the cafes. Colouer Cafe was my favourite.
Beautifully restored town centre following the horrors of the First World War. In the Town Hall there is a statue of a bugler given by Canada in memory of the men killed. There are also commemorations to the British soldiers who fought and died there.Heroes Square is a lively place, with loads of cafes, bars and shops. A delightful place to visit.
Had dinner in the square and got the hear the bells chime at 9pm. They play a lovely song first before starting the chimes for the time of day.
A beautiful location to listen to the bells and have a great dinner. There are lots of different options with all cuisine’s available in local restaurants. In the early mornings on the weekends you can catch a market nearby, throughout the day they are local shops and in the evening the shops close and it’s mainly just restaurants. In the centre of the courtyard there is sand pits were you often see kids playing in the sand and playing ball or soccer. My favourite place in the city to have a glass of wine and relax.
Been here a few times it never disappoints lovely just to sit and watch the world go by. We did the underground tour of the caves this time it was fascinating you just have to remember to duck.
Beautiful square surrounded by stone buildings in the centre of Arras. Hosts many fine restaurants and retailers.
Beautiful town well worth taking the time to stop and explore.
Very nice historic square with lots of restaurants.
Great place to visit and explore with the beffroi of Arras within walking distance. A lot of bars and shops in the neighborhood.
Very nice place, typical from the area with a lot of restaurants and bars.
Simply beautiful, both day and night. A little gem in North France only 100 miles from Calais. Loads of restaurants and bars to choose from, all great value. And a night the whole place is lit up making it extra special to see.
