Hermanus Fish & Chips in Hermanus

Went for lunch. Meal was freshly prepared, steaming hot. Fish batter crisp and chips lekker slap with salt n vinegar. Hake and snoek both well cooked. Seating area nice n clean. Meals reasonably priced.

Was so excited to try the chips and samosas they are selling. When you walk past it smells lovely! Different story when you walk in to the ordering area, where you get met by very unfriendly staff members that can’t seem to bothered to help you what so ever. Staff seems very sour. Chips were ok. Won’t return

Best fish and chips I have ever eaten.

Absolutely disgusting taste. Thats all. Just a pity its on the main road and will probably get a lot of overseas visitors. Really have to up their standards. Rather paying the extra few rands next time and go to Walker bay fish&chips. Highest quality.

Situated in the new Hermanus harbour it is ideally positioned to give a beautiful view of the ocean with Hermanus in the background. Found the prices to be a little on the high side. Not everybodys cup of tea. Strict covid protocol is observed.

This is the third time my colleague and I got bad takeaways. Fish was smushy and slimy and had a ammonia-like smell to it. The colour of the fish didnt look right. The lady had an attitude when i phoned to ask if i could bring it back. She wanted to give me something different I told her i wasnt interested as i lost my appetite. The tartar sauce was nice..

For a great fast food meal, well prepared and reasonably priced. If you prefer to eat in you could actually do so and have a bit of a view too...

Everything is extra, and if you want to add a cooldrink or a sauce after you paid for your meal you have to spend atleast R20 as a minimum otherwise you cannot pay by card.

The only place to buy Fish and Chipd in Hermanus. The best ever and price is easy on your pocket

DONT EAT HERE! I have never had such bad food in my life! These people have zero passion for food.The food is really indescribably bad. Even the fries were really the worst fries you can imagine. Just dont eat here!

I dont buy a lot of take out food, but today i decided to. Bought calamari it was so disgusting like the taste of old oil. 2nd i asked for medium chips, also old oil taste and under cooked. 3rd ordered the hake and got home and it was snoek. I will never go there again. Totally disgusted.

Absolutely shocking. Bought the x-large chips today (R42 or sothat is suppose to be 700 grams. I weighed it when I got back home and it was not even 450 grams. Ive bought from their other shop by Fruit and Veg for years and this never happened but that one is now closed. Not only that, but they were stale too. Pathetic service and quality.

Nothing special, average priced. Nice gesture that a hamburger roll and russian vienna is included with a snoek parcel but the russian tasted horrible. Fish batter lacked flavour and chips had some black edges.

Their calamari and chips is pretty nice, and the staff were really helpful during the unrests in Hermanus.

This is the worse fish I ever tasted . Looks and tasted rotten. Had to send the counter lady back with fish that looked like someone puked on it when I cut into the fish. Firstly the fish arrived cold and then asked them for a fresh warm piece and they returned with it having been microwaved. Presentation of the food terrible. Small piece of fish with loads of disgusting batter.

Worst ever hake fish, oily and full of bones and over cooked. Chips was oily and felt like it was re-heated in old oil.

Service is fast and efficient. The fish and chips are freshly made. Overall just the best fish and chips in hermanus! Absouloutly obsessed!

Also only giving one star because zero isnt an option, you have to pay for takeaway cutlery that isnt available, the staff was appalling rude and unfriendly would not serve me unless I moved a different customers from his spot at the counter, where he was packing his own purchase in a bag. And the fish is only average...

This place Rocks as they serve good clean & fresh seafood at a Very reasonable price! Always crowded. ....But worth the wait for Sure!.....

Best traditional fish n chips Ive ever had. A must try when in Hermanus.

Only giving it 1 star because zero is not an option. Our takeaway order included what was supposed to be high priced Perlemoen samoosas only to find out later it was soya mince. Also, another special was ignored until we queried and then it was substituted without apology because they were out of stock of the special item. Food was poor quality and tasted like old oil. We were only travelling through Hermanus and could not return to the shop.
