Henrys bar in Torghay

We asked super last minute if they could get us in for a Sunday lunch. They were so gracious with us and moved tables around for us so we could sit in last minute. I have never been to a pub restaurant with such incredibly friendly, helpful and just warm feeling staff before. I cant recommend this place enough. On top of that the Sunday lunch was beautiful, and coming from a bit of a picky eater than means a lot! The care that went into the food and the tastes!Highly highly recommend this place to everyone. 15/10.

Been using this bar for years!Im not local so I use this bar around 2 times a year, the staff are friendly and welcoming . . . . Dog friendly at all times.They serve fresh food that is to a high standard, in 10 years Ive only had 1 meal that was not upto its normal standard and the staff dealt with my concern very quickly and professionally.The toilets are located upstairs so if you have mobility issues you will struggle.Good traditional pub with lots of character.

Friendly staff.Very reasonable prices.Had a Sunday roast, theu fitted us in past minute and food was great.Only thing Id suggest is asking Yorkshire not using frozen ones!

Do not be fooled by how this place looks from the outside.Be brave walk in and enjoy.Henrys bar is a great place to have a drink in Paignton.It has a great selection of Ales and lagers.Staff are good.Food is served and the place is clean.Plenty of tables available as well as seating outside too.Probably the best place for a quality drink in Paignton.

We pre-booked a table for a sunday evening. Nice atmosphere in the pub. Dog friendly so got people talking to each other.We both had Steak & Ale Pie which was delicious. (Wish Id ordered the new potatoes instead of chips to go with it though , as came with fresh veg as well).Drinks kept well . Friendly staff and toilets nice and clean.

We come from Medway Kent, and visit Henrys Bar every year. It is the reason we come to Paignton.Always good food value for money and great beer, and even more so it very dog friendly (says our dog Ronnie). Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Cant think of a better pub to visit and always a warm welcoming a wait you.

Service was outstanding, food was superb. Value for money. Cracking British pub. Staff are amazing and give you 100% attention. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back

Friendly staff, 30 minute wait for food, burger was obviously cooked from frozen and same with the scampi. Fish and chips had sold out. Prices seem reasonable. Toilets were clean. Air conditioner was set a bit too cool.

I booked a meal as a surprise for friends who had just got married and Jo the lady I dealt with was incredibly helpful- my friends had a fab time delicious food and lovely place thank you all at Henrys Bar who made their night so special!

Not been in for a long time (2019), but surprisingly its not changed. Still a nice cosy pub without the bright neon lighting of other pubs. Quietish pub with good service from staff.

Working away and staying very near. Definitely worthy of a visit. Had rump steak. Was lush. Good drinks on and 10/10 staff. If your lucky, you might get the cocktail lad who makes all sorts. Definitely coming back when i come back

Popped in while on holidays! Nice place friendly staff and good selection of drinks, they also serve food but we didnt have but looked nice when being given to other customers, the place itself was clean and tidy toilets clean and tidy would definitely go back.

Pub was like a greenhouse with heating turned up too high. Ordered Thai cod and prawn fishcakes with salad and new potatoes. The only decent thing on the plate were the new potatoes. The salad came with a dressing on which I didnt ask for. The fishcakes were just discs of greasy mush. Wont be going there again

Best bar on the short sea front strip, nice beer and friendly staff. The food looked nice and was very popular with locals and tourists. Dog friendly, paws on the floor and not running around. Tables can be reserved. Due to the age of the building no disabled toilet. Overall very enjoyable experience ❗

Great pub with really friendly locals. (Especially tony and his crew)Staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming.Choked on some food while dining and the locals rallied round to help out. Staff were were very reassuring and helpful too.Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars.Will definitely return but without causing a drama next time hopefully.

Went away to Paignton for a short break away and after a very good experience here on the first night we couldnt to eat here every night after!! Food is of very good quality and really tasty, drinks are of good value and staff are fabulous. Customer service really on point, very pleased and really clean inside to! Will definitely be returning.

Excellent food and proper food not part of a big chain.

We made a decision to go here for something to eat and were not disappointed, had the Cod and chips not large but tasty and filling without breaking the bank

Had a lovely meal here , mrs had steak , I had lasagna. It was really nice . The service was great. The chef was really nice . Stayed for drinks after too . Good value for money . Staff were really polite and friendly. Will definitely return .

I enjoyed an evening here a couple of months ago whilst on business in Paignton. It was a sodden night and there was little open so when I passed Henrys Bar, it was just a relief to get out of the rain. Service was OK, I did have to ask more than once for a drink I had already paid for but, within the scheme of things, a small criticism. Jo was lovely, the food was excellent, good pub scoff. I certainly return in an instant. Recommended!
