2410 St Johns St, Port Moody, BC V3H 2B1, Canada, Anmore
Small, down-to-earth stop offering French & Italian cuisine such as pastas, grilled meats & seafood.
Made a return visit for the good food.I seem to remember there used to be chicken kebabs on the menu, however the combo, which consisted of lamb, chicken, haloumi, falafel, bread, salad. Was good as was the meat mezze and haloumi salad. Too full for most of us to eat dessert, apart from one who had a very thick waffle with banana, chocolate sauce and cream. Worth calling in and giving a try.
I have been living in the area for 5 years now and Henry’s used to be my favourite place to go for a Sunday fry up. It seems to have really gone down hill in both the food and the service. Such a shame.
Not very welcoming. We went to have breakfast around 9:20,and this big guy on the door turned us back as they open in 10 minutes. Well, that’s not the way you treat clients especially when you can easily choose another place that’s more friendly and care to serve you. They don’t seem to care about that. Shame!!!
we ordered 3 of the carbonara it took 40 mins to come and showed up with a sauce less carbonara with roadkill .it advertised bacon and came with an bright orange meet which i couldn’t even place what type of meat it was so i assume it was squirrel for 13£ a dish i have no clue what i’ve payed for because as far as i’m concerned everything i ate tasted like it was found on the street . the food is eating me from the inside out . it’s caused pain in my side 5 mins into eating this monstrosity.WOULD NOT recommend the carbonara to anyone .
Beautiful restaurant. Kids friendly place. Family friendly place also. Eggs Benedict dish is delicious. Try their Traditional breakfast which is also tasty and filling. Peach and Apple cold drink is delicious.
Appalling service by the owner who was rude. He took an order for food to then say it was unavailable and served a fresh juice warm.
Two stars for 2 good coffees! There was no welcome, shown to our table and then left. Had to ask after 20 mins for them to come over and take our order for brunch. Quite frankly this was disappointing but the worst was yet to come!! Brunch arrived, a stale dry croissant on a plate, no butter or jam, not even warm?! The cooked brunch was ok, eggs overcooked but edible. Then the unwelcoming maitre de then put on air con, not asked the customers if they were happy to have it on? It then blasted us with very cold air, chilled our food in a minute!! Very disappointing, unfriendly and quite frankly felt ignored.
What I liked about this place is that it’s a pub/coffee shop style open all day restaurant. The flower decor I felt was very out of place and in need of cleaning, also what worried me is that those dead/plastic flower can at any time fall into your food.I was happy that they had a vegan section but I had to pay an extra 0.65p for gluten free 🤐When the food arrived it was okay and because of the price increases everywhere I also felt their prices for what you get is reasonable.Yeh, the 3h free car park on that street encourages me to go back and sample more of their dishes.
I give this place two stars and that is because one the decor is lovely and two the traditional breakfast I had ordered came out undercooked, my beans were cold and the mushrooms were stalks not the actual mushroom. The staff were mucking around chasing each other around the cafe which I thought was totally unacceptable because of my child were to have done so they would’ve had something to say. Heard the lady waitress shout at the chef (well if you can call him thatabout do you not know what’s bagel is. Well!Just an all round not to great of an experience had here. Will not be returning which is a shame as the place looks really nice and really goes well with the Tudor theme they have on the menu.
Its average, nothing bad, nothing special, its a good meal, plenty of choice, not definitively one thing or the other, it is a bit of everything.Ok came back 6 months later (july 2022 service much improved. Btunch good (halloumi salad). Scome very good. And apple pear drink perfect. It is good or we made better choices. Either way this is somewhere to trial. I liked it this time.So it is a solid 3 stars
Visited Henrys Kitchen after a wander around Hampton Court Palace. Plenty of options for all diets and appetites. It seemed quite popular with locals as well as cyclists who were passing by for a quick refreshment stop. I got the vegan carbonara and a smoothie. The indoor decorations were very cute
Great food, drinks and service in a lovely spot. Happy to visit again!
Still not impressed with this place. Food is very basic. My son had a bacon Avocado salad and that was literally a load of iceberg lettuce, undercooked bacon and a small amount of Avocado. Our order was no better. It was a share board but was not enough for two. Disappointing.
I ❤️ chocolate cake in 🇬🇧Congrats
If you want to sit al fresco pick any of the other ones on the street, as they force seats to be arranged so you can get no sun. The only place that has a tall building in front blocking the light.
A very nice dessert, with an excellent milkshake and café late.
Great ambience, attentive staff and super tasty coffee and food. Fantastic choice of food for any pallet. Highly recommend it.
Love this place, really clean inside and quality ingredients. Staff are really nice too. Kid friendly, veggie options
Fine, fresh, tasty, was quite many guests, toilets are good size, clean & have water in taps)typical cakes with much cream, colourful, we had breakfast, tea, flat American coffee which wasnt good but in common the food is nice.
Served Burnt toast. Burnt tomatoes and canned mushroomsBetter go next door
5pm on a Friday- not busy - coffees, hot chocolate and a juice - and a slice of cake. - everything was good - ambience was nice, perfect for a hot chocolate on a chilly afternoon
Great bistro cafe to have lunch after antique shopping or before heading off across the bridge to Hampton Court Palace. This cafe is family friendly and has amazing deli food if youre looking to have a hearty lunch or just stopping for coffee /tea. Dont forget to check out their delicious selection of cakes while youre deciding what to do next. When paying make sure to get their loyalty card so youll remember to pop in for a coffee or lunch again at some point.Their menu incudes kids and vegan choices.
Efficient, polite service and the food was lovely.
Stopped for a quick coffee. The coffee was nice but unfortunately it was let down by its slow service. We waited 15 minutes to be served (only to have to go in and find a waiter myself because they hadnt spotted us), and then it took another 15 minutes of waiting for someone to take our payment (again, I had to go inside to find someone).Table service needs to improve drastically.
Visited with a friend as we were just catching up and it was lunchtime. Menu choice suited us. Sandwich was nice, no trimmings, like other places add. Salad or crisps on the side would have made the dish.Drinks were good especially the fruit juice mix.
Cosy ambiance. I had the piri piri chicken which was a big portion and tasted well. My friends tried original, lamb and vegan burgers - the lamb burger was good too.
For Burger’s sake!I know you might be attracted by the scenery of cakes by the window shop, but Guys! For me it’s about burgers, thick, tender burgers!I almost tried all of them and Lamb is my fav. These used to be served with generous portion of really chunky chips during the first lockdown, now it comes with thick cut chips, still great.Floor team are welcoming but sometimes kitchen is on the slow side whilst doing the magic with patties! (4/5 Stars)During first lockdown, we ordered to take away several times and it’s our new normal now, as you can grab your meal and casually have it by the Thames or push your picnic at the bushy to the next level!
Wonderful food, I had a halloumi, avocado, tomato sandwich that the kitchen were able to add grilled chicken to, super delicious and a generous portion! And the chocolate brownie with ice cream was to die for, perfect chewy and slightly crispy outside and gooey inside 😋 the white Trebbiano wine was very smooth and crisp, an exceptional wine for the price. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and were able to deal with difficult customers (not me!with grace and ease. In particular Ruby was lovely, very kind, and professional! If I lived closer Id for sure be a regular, I will endeavour to visit again when Im in the area
Drawn here by the hot chocolate with marshmellows on their board, never seen anything like that. A delight for children for sure and perfect for the cooler weather. Huge variety of treats and sweets on display. Didnt try any so dont know if they are good. One star down because I had the impression that they didnt particularly want or need my business.
Amazing service, food was good but average . At first I thought sweet potatoes fries on the breakfast menu was strange but the sweet potatoes themselves where amazing. The staff where wonderfully patient and helpful with the kids.
Vegan reviewGreat staff very friendlyI dont want to be negative so Ill be constructive with bullet points.Myself and 3 others all had the vegan full English with a side of hash browns.Once the food was served luckily a waitress popped to make sure we all were indeed vegan and then proceeded to say she needs to Check if the hash browns are vegan (they arentgreat spot by her and thanks in for the vigilance, and I dont know why dairy butter was served with the food? Maybe chef was a bit rushed.Bullet points are:.Ensure staff know items that are not suitable for vegans or list on menu.1 rasher of vegan bacon? Disappointed. I have no idea what the vegan scrambled egg was (more like slightly yellow semolina). Have a non dairy spread available theres some amazing options out there (floratreat yourself to some ramekins. Try using some herbs it would transform everything especially the "egg". get hold of some real hash browns Ive never encountered a non vegan one before (Iceland and Aldi ones are great even Tesco have had a good go £1 a bag think of the mark updont use McCains as they fall apart. Last one, not great value knock off 30% and then youre about right. If you take this all into account let me know when its sorted and we will come back.Otherwise thats 4 vegans/vegetarians in one that wont come backIm sure its not your biggest business at the moment but if you get it right we tell people by the masses. Thanks
The cake was good, however, I had a sub par service, with me being ushered back to outside of the restaurant in a non friendly way when all I wanted was to look closely at the menu and what cakes they had to offer (bear in mind I apologised for everything). On top, instead of delivering the cake to us by the table, like how they delivered the food to other customers, the waitress decided to hand over the plate of red velvet cake from afar with one hand, expecting me to slouch over to take it. Cant help but think were having a different treatment due to our race lol
Happy Easter 🐰!! Very busy road today. My husband and I try to grab some hot food 🥶 we order cup of tea, Sausage roll and ham cheese sandwich:paid around 9.50 GBP Enjoyed food and tea, sausage roll very delicious 🤤 sandwich 🥪 tasty fresh but I wonder order again. Seems like they served hot beverage with cantuccino :Hotchoco serve with mash mellow 💕 looks very nice and delicious 😋 we will try next time. 🌼🌸
Lovely freshly prepared food. Helpful, friendly staff .....& BEST mulled wine Ive ever had (the shot really helps 😊)
Amazing cappuccino and super fresh pastry. Even received a loyalty coffee card. Very pleased.
The staff were pleasant enough and helpful too and the location was great. However, the service was very, very slow even though it wasnt busy at all. We decided to share a Meze after a long wait it arrived nicely presented but all the meat was very dry and not very good at all. The salad was fresh but the 2nd drinks order didnt arrive at all. With so many other choices on the road I would give this one a miss.
Just ordered chicken noodles for delivery ....just awful ...no flavour, I mean , some coriander or chillis or lemon grass or ginger , this was just tasteless brown and like they were simmered in gravy ...bloody atrocious...and from their reply below it appears its my fault, it certainly wasnt teriyaki. 😂😂😂
Very nice place for breakfasts. Delicious food, nice staff and good music.
Did I die and go to heaven? So good we ate here 2 nights in a row, vegan and gluten free options. Lovely staff.
Plesent establishment,Rustic charmVegans retreatRegrettably slow service due to new staffOtherwise prommising.
If you fancy good quality burger, please visit Henry, so yummy. My first visit with friends definitely will come back, great customer service too.
Good food and great service. Friendly welcoming and staff.
Food was great for the most part, 3 burgers, beef and chicken were good. Fish cakes were a bit dry.The service left a lot to be desired, only offered drinks once, 10 minutes after we were seated. Food was quick to come out, but was never offered drinks again, or desserts, and staff were not attentive at all.Saw a group of 3 stood at the bar waiting to be seated, completely ignored by the bar staff. Seems like there was only 1 person in the room (if you were luckybut three ignorant staff stood behind the bar.Won’t be back, although food was good.
Lovely restaurant, member of the sustainable restaurant association, with warm and cosy atmosphere and excellent food.
A pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast/brunch portions are usually hearty and tasty. Smoothie and fresh juices are delicious. Not tried the other menu options but there seems to be something for lunch and dinner too. A lovely local spot and place for tourists to visit though I wouldnt recommend their cappuccino or mocha - so much milk you cant taste anything else!
Lovely place for afternoon tea after a long walk by the river from Kingston to Hampton court. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We had afternoon tea, coffee and cake and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lovely breakfast/brunch/lunch food selection. Food is great, good selection of eggs with interesting twists. Would recommend Catherines Breakfast if you like fish, mustard sauce is yum! Can get busy so be prepared to wait or book ahead. Staff are always friendly and accommodating.
This place was terrific !!! Best meal weve eaten since we came to England !! On our way to Hampton Court !
Nice looking place and very busy and popular early on a Sunday morning. Waited a long time for our order to be taken and for the drinks to come. Maybe because they are so busy? The smoothies were quite nice, but not really worth the wait.
Came for breakfast. Was choosing between the different restaurants on the block and that had the most atypical menu. Among those that we ordered was haddock and deep fried quinoa. Especially liked that they use locally grown and sustainable sources.
