Great Irish Pub. Had the Guinness pie ,how could I not, it was a big portion and very tasty. Guinness on tap very good. Great atmosphere, will not disappoint.

Loved having my food here and affordable with a cheeky beer on the side. Enjoyed the seating experience outside

We had a group of 10 adults & 2 kids for dinner last night for Mums 65th . Great hospitality especially from the main man and quick service. Open chicken sandwich & loaded wedges were yum, great pour on the Kilkenny. Classic Irish pub decor, sport on and good music.

Every trip to Rotorua requires a dinner at Hennessys Irish Pub!The interior decor is straight from the Old World, the music is classic Irish (and always just low enough to still have a nice chat), theyve got a good array of drinks on tap and the food, THE FOOD, is quality pub food that will warm your soul. Try the Seafood Chowder (big enough to shareand the Irish Lamb and Beef Guinness Pies! They will warm you right up on a cold night. The portion sizes are generous and the prices perfectly reasonable.The service is very welcoming, warm, and attentive.We cant wait to come back!!!

First of all Im not a Rotorua local. Was in town for the night and went to Hennessys around 7pm. I ordered the Fish ands Chips $20 and a pint of beer $9. Food and service was great. The name of the place reflects exactly what it is, a bar and a good one at that. Would I recommend to others?..... Damned right I would.

We had our daughters 21st at Hennesseys and wow they were so awesome to deal with. Reg made everything so easy which allowed us to relax and enjoy our night. We will be back no doubt.

Use to be the best place to go for a hearty meal...not so great any more..although bangers and mash were the same very yummy hence 3 stars. If you go there choose wisely xxxx

Visiting Rotorua for a few day, had a fabulous meal tonight, tried the Sunday Roast of beef, it was excellent followed with a desert of cheesecake, great value along with excellent service. Will defo call in again before we leave.

I really wanted to write a great review. The lady who served us was super warm and friendly, the pub was a really nice location and the food was delivered in reasonable time—but the food let it down. Yes, its pub food (which my husband and I really like), but theres pub food done well, and pub food done not so well. Alas, for me, Hennessys was the latter. I ordered the steak (medium rare...and it was, indeed medium rarewith salad (which was lovely and freshand chips with garlic butter and aioli. I ate the salad first. There may have been a tiny bit of dressing on it, but it was hard to tell. It just tasted like I was eating a naked salad (dry). Then I started on the steak, which was on its way to being cold because they brought our hot meals out on freezing cold plates (my pet peeve!). The aioli was meh, served in a plastic pottle, and was, I would say, not made in house. The garlic butter was also meh. It was that bought-in stuff that is really airy and doesnt taste much like actual butter. Anyway, I wish them well....nice people....but I wouldnt eat there again. If youre not as fussy as I, Im sure youll enjoy the food.

Highly recommend the pork and gravy Sammi. $10 value and yummy with crackling on top. Nice lunch menu.

Great pub meal on a fine evening with great staff, good outdoor seating and meals to match: steak, liver & bacon, bangers, guinness pie, garden salad were all better than we expected.Speights cider was a great accompaniment, very like a beer.

Just a quick stop as we were driving through Rotorua. I grabbed a plate of fully loaded wedges. Pretty bloody good, and a massive portion. Washed it down with really nice Guinness which can be hard to find. Usually stop at another pub nearby but think Ill give this place another go. Recommend you try.

We find this Bar the best in Rotorua with a great old world but modern charm.We aleays visit on a trip down.The staff are so friendly making you welcome. Good range of drinks as you wouldexpect always fresh Guiness on tap.The food menu has good variety from Chips to a full meal all realistically priced.Monitors around the walls showing current sporting activities & Pokie Room.

Nice place, good service. Very disappointed to be served a small thin frozen commercially produced chicken breast with some salad and chips for $25 which I thought was very expensive.

Very good service. Had a lovely lambs fry and FINALLY bread/toast to wipe up gravy. Grand children had burgers which were perfect for kids with no fancy garnishes. Wifes steak looked prefect.Deserts looked large and very nice

Great place to go for some good beers and good food, plus the have a very fairly priced lunch special.They even turned on the NFL football game for me and provided great customer service.

Service here was great. We came for dinner and wanted to have a couple of beers beforehand. The waitress was very understanding and made us feel comfortable without hassling us to order. Was a great night. And when we did eventually order the food was delicious. Lamb shanks were perfect!

Went here for lunch last Friday and the seafood chowder was beautiful and the garlic bread was perfect. The $13.90 lunch deals are a great grab. Service was a bit slow but the wait was worth it. Thanked the chef on the way out. Its also a good thing to see the owner as well 😊

2 Adults & 3 kids...We had a lovely family meal here on Boxing Day 2018. Very friendly staff met us at the door and escorted us to a great spot. The menu was easy to choose from...2 kids had the mini burger & fries which was actually normal sized and delicious. Our eldest ordered the chicken fettuccine which she gave a 5/5. I ordered the lamb shank which was falling off the bone. My husband ordered the steak meal which was cooked to perfection. Overall very satisfying and affordable.Highly recommended family meal.Thank you Hennessys Irish Bar.

Great place for food and beer, especially draught Guinness. Several sports screens for viewing events. Owners/staff friendly and accomodating.
