Henderson's Family Restaurant - Family restaurant in Killeen, United States
Awesome environment. The food was amazing. The customer service was stellar.
Good customer service. Nice and friendly staff. Good food.
Great food and service... Wonderful place all in all... Passionate people and a true family diner... I go there to celebrate the memories of my late wife... Her dad and her mom as well as her grandparents...
The staff is extremely friendly and kind here and it makes the environment comfortable. I think the biggest upset was the portion size of the $16 omelette w/browns I ordered. Trash Can omelette that comes with everything but the kitchen sink and the plumber who installed it. It was maybe about the size of a 4x6 index card and almost as thin. It tasted great, but I finished it in maybe 6 or 7 bites and I only had on my fork what fit. Overall, Id go back, but Id probably select something less pricey. Oh, and the sweet tea 🥴 chefs kiss 💋 🤌🏾 Ask for water to dilute if southern sweet tea is too sweet for you😅
This is an old fashioned family diner, with incredible food; the taste and portion size. The service was outstanding, as our drinks never emptied. They even made all desserts in house.
Understaffed only 1 waitress in the whole place on a Saturday . Food good when it finally arrived 45 minutes later
Bustling atmosphere, nice people food was good the wait was moderate
This local spot hit the spot! Best steak and eggs in town that I’ve found 🤤 Those home fries 🔥 Service is super welcoming and friendly ❤️ I’ve ate here a hand full of times and it’s always been the same order every time, steak 🥩 medium rare, over easy on the eggs 🍳 home fries 🍟 English muffin and coffee ☕️ will definitely come again and highly recommend!
When I was ran off they were there to catch me as I fell like a leaf in the fall... Ever so gently.
Catfish Fridays are my familys favorite. We go to Hendersons family restaurant often, good home cooked meals, and a laid back atmosphere.
Good home cooking food,,peaceful atmosphere, I will be back.
Great breakfast and lunch dinning. Good country cooking and family owned style settings. Table of four or more. Friendly staff.
This was my first time visiting this restraunt. Of course I had a ham and cheese omelet, which was about average. The service was a bit slow, but the server was friendly. Will be back.
I think I’m going to find another place to eat . I go here all the time and today I called to ordered some food it’s 1 o’clock the web site says closes at 2 . The man answered the phone and said we are already closed . The way he said it was like I need him . No boo I can find better places and better food to spend my hard earned money . Don’t have to worry about me and my friends anymore
The first time we went we had a waiter tell us there was no liquor in our drink as a joke. The staff are friendly and nice, food is absolutely delicious.
The food was great. Nice family atmosphere. Staff was friendly and provided amazing service.
No photos - the food was that good. Really enjoyed the home cooked food & friendly service we received. Lots of local tables creating an ambience of laughter and familiarity. Enjoy the historic photos, this place really feels like your coming home for breakfast.
Sometimes the wait can be a little long but the food is so good, they have great prices, and the staff is so nice and accommodating that I always look forward to going to this restaurant!!
Seems to be a nice place to eat. I was there for a meeting and only had tea.
I will recommend this place to anyone been going there for many years and waitress or the waitress are absolutely great and courtesy.
Great service and yummy food!! April was awesome and took care of us with a smile and made great menu recommendations. Were not in the area often, but well be back whenever we are!
Good for some plain old American down home country food. Reasonable price reasonable place
This place is amazing. Everyone is super respectful and sweet, hands down the best breakfast in Killeen.
I went there Wednesday, and got a Bacon Burger and it was delicious and I will be going back there with the family this time. I dont like burgers to much but theirs is on point.
Came here without any expectations. It’s a small mom and pop local diner that I think is catered for older people. The server, Mr. Andy is what really captured me. Friendly and gave a very welcoming vibe. The food was okay, it’s like eating brunch at your grandmas. The Henderson chicken meal was pretty good and the gravy as well. The sweet tea is probably one of the best sweet tea I’ve ever had! It’s not the cleanest, not the fastest but definitely an experience I believe to be tried once if you are a local. I think if you are a little older and have a simpler palate/taste buds then this is the place for you. No frills breakfast, lunch, dinner. Bonus is they treat you like family. I would choose going here than going to Dennys or iHop any day.Location: 3.5/5It’s located in Downtown Killeen. There are ample parking spots.Service: 5/5Mr. Andy is one of the best servers I’ve encountered in my life.Price: 4/5The food ranges from $10-20Food: 3.5/5Simple, homemade style cooking, tastes like southern grandmas brunch
If I could give more then five stars, I definitely would for this home style cooking! Go see Andy, he’s a top notch server with great attention to detail and a friendly personality. The food tastes like your at your grandparents house, very well made and decent sized portions. I didn’t even have to ask for ranch, as he provided it on the spot with my fried zucchini, okra, and onions. It was hard to pick between breakfast, lunch, and dinner because of their wonderful menu selections. If your ever driving through town, this is the restaurant to stop at since it topped all of our other food experiences in this area. Great prices & atmosphere!
Excellent service and amazing flavor, the best breakfast I have so far!
Eeesh, been here twice and the second time was even worse than the first (one was a work function). The food is a solid 1, the service though nice people may take a good 45 minutes to clean your table and take your order, which is partly because theres only two people working a lunch rush. The setting is such that you feel like an out-of-towner even if youre from Killeen. All I can conclude is that this is one of those places that really needs to go out of business because it shutting down would immediately improve the average quality of the surrounding area.
We waited for 30 minutes on the table to be cleaned (at the end we did it ourselvesand then waited another 40 minutes for food to arrive (it was cold). This place is dirty, bad food, and unsafe. We recommend to stay away from this place. Less than OK, almost horrible. It overpriced. Poor quality.
I went their this past Sunday, and their omelet was good, and their biscuit was disappointing. Also, the table was dirty, and the booth seats had syrup all over it and not mentioned that the booth seats were way too low and uncomfortable. It was my first time there and definitely wont be back
Great food just wish portions were a little more.. but other then that great stuff and friendly our first restaurant in Killeen, Texas we just moved and barely arrived the night before with my famy and wanted to try a local restaurant not a Dennis or IHOP.. they didnt disappoint
Great food...not the cleanest atmosphere. The biscuits are sooo good! My husband says its the best catfish hes had
Food was great. Nice quiet place to eat and have a conversation with whoever you are there with.
This was not the cleanest restaurant but the food was delicious. It reminds me a little bit of a Waffle House. I ordered the fried catfish, grits, eggs sunny side up and hash browns. I would not recommend the hash browns. They were bland and not cooked well. The server was friendly. A nice place for breakfast with a friend or two.
One of the only places I have found that is still mom and pop style. My wife got a normal bacon and egg breakfast while I got the trashcan omelette. Now its one of my favorites. 3 meats 3 veggies, cheese and chili in side an omelette. I thought the chili would be overwhelming but they gave just enough for tasty ummy food. The staff was freindly and joked with the repeat customer, they were kind to us and prompt. I have no complaints at all about this location and suggest you give it a try.
Delicious food with fluffy, warm house-made biscuits. It has a classic hometown ambiance and a mom-n-pop shop feel. Prices were fair and portions were big, came for brunch and I know I wont be hungry until tonight. Id strongly recommend giving it a try if youre feeling like some Southern comfort food.
My wife and I have been on the road for six weeks and we were in Killen because I was stationed at Fort Hood many years ago and we were in the area. We decided to stop at Hendersons for lunch. It was by far the worst meal we had in those six weeks. My wife ordered pot roast, the special for the day. When it came it was a skillet full of potatoes and three very small pieces of meat. I didnt try it but my wife said it was terrible. she took out the three tiny pieces of meat but she could only eat one it was so bad. The whole meal went uneaten. I had a hamburger that was so overdone I figured it had been forgotten on the grill, because it took so long to get to the table. Six weeks on the road eating every meal out, we had a few that werent great but this meal was by far the worst. Bad food and not very good service. I wouldnt suggest this place to my worst enemy.
The food was really good. Wait staff was good as well. They didnt mess around, got the job done, fed us and out the door we went.
The food was really good. Couldve used a little more seasoning, but thats better than being overly seasoned. The potatoes are so delicious though! The food was plenty and filling. The server was so kind and smiled. Attentive, but not to the point you couldnt enjoy your meal. Really great experience. The place is clean too! I will go back.
Absolutely GREAT FOOD! Just found this gem of a restaurant and am SUPER impressed! If you have about 20 minutes you can have the most delicious meals and filling portions!!
Yummi Good ....... CFSteak n Country Skillet n Single PCake ......
I was excited to try because of the reviews but...service was meh. Waitress did not smile until a guy came in and then I got a nice smile from her. Omelette was dry, grits were luke warm but the biscuit was very good. Coffee of course, was good. Waitstaff make all the difference...
Mom and Pop atmosphere. Decent food.Love the Schnitzel Thursdays. Deserts good. Most servers great. A few have occassional rough days.
Had an excellent breakfast this morning. Delicious homemade food. It was like having breakfast at Grandmas.
I just got to my 1st duty station, and my little family went to Hendersons. Its a comfy small town diner vibe. We both got the catfish plate. The catfish was excellent! And so were the hushpuppies! Service was a bit slow, but it was worth it! Good food, and clean establishment! Ill be back!
I had a nice meal with roast beef and mashed potatoes, a side salad and a piece of pumpkin pie! Good service. My son had the half pound burger I was impressed with how the burger looked. Good food and a small town feel.
The restaurant has a pretty cool atmosphere and very small town feel to it. Unfortunately this does not compensate for the rediculous prices on the menu. An egg cost $5 really? A pancake is $4? An instant hot chocolate costs 3? Pretty much everything listed is about 3-5 dollars more than what youd pay eslewhere.
This is where locals have a great time seeing one another and enjoying great food and wonderful, friendly service. The staff is very accommodating and willing to make special dishes when possible. The food portions are very plentiful and the onion rings are the best weve had so far in Texas!
Okay....Ive eatin here a hand full of times. Great family oriented restaurant. The second time going there they knew me by name which was cool because you feel like they know you. The plate portions were great for me because I can put away some food. But if you dont have a big appetite you might need a to go box. I like the catfish breakfast the best...
Food is delicious, service with a smile, very fast and reasonable prices. The staff here makes you feel like youre a part of the family. The huge quesadilla I ordered was only $6.99, hot and fresh, salsa tasted like they make it in-house. Love this place!
