Heavy Do Chop Bar - Chop bar in Accra, Ghana
Local food is ready all the time
Lovely local meals
I dont like the taste of the food
Its a nice place to have lunch
Good Nd healthy food
Wow..such a cool place to have good meals too..love it
If not Heavy Do Annex then wat else
Ok the food is excellent but sometimes you would have to wait for quite a while before you get it.. or sometimes you get there and they have run out of fufu and you have to wait to get it done.. Understandable though because of the huge volumes of clients they serve on a daily basis but I guess they could beef up their staffing strength to solve this problem..Adieu!!!!
For all your delicious local meals, fufu, banku and konkonte with variety of soups
I couldnt get any better place all the way from Accra Central I really enjoy myself at heavy do chop bar.
Their food is very nice
Awesome awesome food. All kinds of local dishes
Food was good. Music was good. Service was decent. Recommended.
Infat theyre very nice and localIt a lovely cool place to be and feel comfortable
Very nice place to have your favourite futu and all types of soup 🍲 not forgotten the Bush meat....
The go to place for the best Ghanaian dishes. I don’t miss a heavy lunch meal anytime I’m the central capital
Nice place but customer service is extremely slow. The is alot of flies too
Very poor and impolite customer service. I arrive there around 5:15pm. No host to greet and seat me. After standing for a while looking to get one of the servers attention, I wave one of them to come and help but she didnt not come instead she is asking me questions from far that I couldnt hear. I came closer to talk to her but she was responding with attitude. the table cleaner standing by offered me a dirty table which is about to clean. I sat down waiting to be serve for a while but no one was coming. So I asked them but they all ignored me. After few minutes I decided to leave. The owner needs to train the workers well.
The food is delicious, especially the palm nut soup. Just a little too oily. Staff are friendly and it was nice to return there after a 4-year absence.
Authentic African food wonderful atmosphere, great service.
Amazing fufu and light soup. The cow meat is well cooked! Great atmosphere too!
The food was very nice, everybody should try and go there
I love this local place to eat, you can taste the spices and flavours, would highly recommend anyone to go.
One of of the neatest chopbars in town. Very good food at an affordable price
Best fufu in Accra so far. Proper Home cooking with no spices overload . 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
Good still good like in the 80s, esp the fufu and goat light soup.....they have the VIP section across the street
Got a good and tasty local meal in a clean and airy environment. Not crowded and noisy but spacious and relaxed.
Best Fufu n Banku plus Tilapia n goat meat chale!! very tasty local dishes available here
Undoubtedly one of the best fufu joints in Accra. Affordable and tasty. You cant go wrong with their food. Down side is that, you can wait a very long time during peak hours (Saturday afternoons). Unfortunately they dont operate on Sundays.
The best fufu I have had in a long time.
Superb local dishes. I want you to pass there one day when youre in town and have a taste for yourself. I enjoyed their food and the environment.
If your reason for going here is to eat, by all means go and you will eat well and smell well..If your reason for choosing any restaurant is ambiance, this place will surprise you with its unique set up..If your budget matters to you in your choice, this place is middle middle range. Quite affordable comparatively..NOW this one may disappoint you a bit. Their waiters DO NOT seem to enjoy waiting on people. They smile little. Perhaps because I am not their regular customer but shouldnt that be all the reason more to smile. Or perhaps I got the one unfriendly waitress in their midst. And it took forever to bring my drink because another waiter was in charge of that..Overall, I left there satisfied (all puns intended). I would go there again if the opportunity comes. The food is too good to allow one seemingly unfriendly waitress to dampen my appetite.8 out of 10
It was good their food was very delicious
Good customer service and delicious local meals. I enjoy the hand washing water; warm and soothing to the hands. Actually prepares your hand first a hot meal.
One of the best local food joints you will find in Accra. Meals ranging from banku, fufu, omotuo and a variety of soups, meat and fish. The prices are not cheap but the food is delicious and the service is not bad. The only thing that irks me sometimes is the blaring music thats played especially on Sundays.
Must be in operation for more than 50 years. Still the Chop Bar of choice in kokomlemle. Shout out to all them dedicated kitchen mechanics that keep the quality the same. Kudos.
One of the local eateries located between Accra New Town and circle. They serve tasty meal just pass through and have a good meal of your choice...
One of the best local foods Ive ever had. I always have their tilapia with light soup... For all the spice lovers ask for some extra ginger on the side and for my local food people order some green soup on the side as well. Youll be sorted out nicely👍
The goat meat light soup was amazing. The meat wasnt too tough and the soup was thick. Very sweet soup. The fufu was also well made. Theyre also quite efficient in the way the place is ran.
Heavy-Do Chop bar is one of the best chop bars in Accra , Ghana. Before I even share my experiences first and foremost the food there is amazing. I have eaten there twice and never got disappointed . For foreigners reading this. Chop bar is a place where you get locally made Ghanaian food that need a lot of muscles to make haha. But yeah fufu, banku, rice ball , konkonte etc.Customer service can be a bit challenging here just because if you are there during lunch time from 12pm till 4pm then there are possibilities that there are so many people and the workers are not able to attend to you or you have to find your hard way out to get your food. But immediately you are almost served things get easier and better. Not all the time but yeah it can happen. Workers are nice but because they get so busy during some periods they seem not nice but they are. :)
Great food. Friendly staff
So you need to understand that this place promises a local experience and they deliver just that.Warm water to wash your hands, wonderful Ghanaian music and food well prepared and served. You can even go to the "kitchen area" to make your own customised order or you can be waited on.Food tasted good although I thought GHS 5 worth of fufu should have been bigger 😂Limited ranges of fish, maybe I got there at a time that was later in the day but the options for fish could have been more.Overall, wonderful experience. Oh, its a bit expensive here, but with GHS 30, you can enjoy good food with a drink.
Great food, friendly staff, good assortment of drinks, overall wonderful service, washrooms available. Unfortunately no wheelchair accessible parking and entrance. On street parking is however available.
Good place for eating but they should improve their structure and become modern. They should change where they put their waste bin as it greets you first before entering the eatery.
For me, they represent Ghanaian eatery done right. Theres such attention to detail that you dont get from most local places. Only sad thing is that they dont have fufu on Sundays.
One of the very best local restaurant in Accra where local Ghanaian dishes are served. The likes of fufu, banku and everything in between. Youll love the experience of indigenous Ghanaian culture in the way the place is set up. Its hygienic too
I have been eating here for 30years.... And yesterday was sweeeet Paaaaaa!! Even though the liver was finished
Tasty Ghanaian food and a friendly atmosphere
Worst chop bar Ive visited in Accra. The staff isnt welcoming and basically wait around for you to approach them. Shows signs of dissatisfaction with their job or their boss. PRICES ARE EXORBITANT AND RIDICULOUS! We went, sat for 5 minutes and left to go to a cheaper and much more welcoming chop bar in the area.
If you plan on having a hangover, this place and its fresh, numerous soups will be your best remedy.Excellent variety of indigenous foods and at fairly affordable rates. Well, maybe the meat products are a bit overpriced.Saturday and Sunday mornings are typically the most patronized times. An old favorite. The ambience hasnt been changed since inception decades ago. Theyve stuck to short tables and even shorter chairs. Ideal for those feeling nostalgic for the proper chop bar setting.
