Health Freak Cafe North Ryde - Health food restaurant in Sydney, Australia
They have organic, gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free and refined sugar free cakes and theyre delicious!Plus everything else on the menu looks amazing, cant wait to come back again and try all the options.PS. Theyre a completely gluten-free cafe.
Service 5/5. Atmosphere 4/5. Intent for health 5/5.Food. 1/5.Very very! squeaky door that is being opened every 30 seconds = 1/5 experience. The Keto Eggs Benedict was a huge disappointment. I know I couldnt expect Belgium waffles. But the texture and taste was like eating a wet soggy book. I insist you try it yourself for the novelty. The hollandaise sauce, again, a very huge miss on being a healthy alternative.Eggs Benedict should be the experience that takes you on a textured adventure. Creamy eggs with a pop covered in thick sauce, contrasted with that pleasant, pronounced crisp of the base. Be it sourdough or waffles. All of this is missing. The taste.. again... no alternative, just an imposter.
Service was great food was on point the vibes were groovy. Health Freak Cafe combines the charm of a healthy life style whilst itching that unhealthy fast food itch. All in all my friends and I were impressed with the food selection along with the service.Definitely try the Red Cappuccino.
Been dieting for a couple of weeks now with salad options around the centre pretty lacklustre in taste.Intimated by the name of the place and being a larger/heavier person trying hard to get healthier, I thought "stuff it" And put my own trepidation aside to give it a go.I was not disappointed by my choice at all after I ended up getting the chicken salad which was both tasty and fresh. For those on the go or on the shy side they do offer take away.
A fantastic Cafe with all gluten and sugar free dishes. The food is delicious and looks amazing. There is such a big variety on the menu, too.Service is very friendly.Would come again and recommend.
Outstanding quality food and the coffee is amazing!! Service is 10/10, really polite staff. Therell be a line around the block soon as word gets out about this place! I drive 1hr to get my fix haha
This is my 2nd visit. 30 mins wait for the burgers, and there were only 3 tables of customers (include usin the shop. And they got the burger bun wrong. The cashier was genuinely apologetic but the guys in the kitchen seemed to have enjoy some paid chatting fun time while customers wait hungrily.
I wish there were more of these around everywhere - its so hard to find food that is this delicious, healthy, and also gluten-free. No matter what your food intolerance, they have so many options. Really hope they stay in business and open more stores while staying this amazing.
Stopped by for a coffee. Quick service. Wheelchair accessible, family-friendly and adequate COVID19 spacing. A quiet place away from the main buzz of the centre. Convenient place for husbands to wait up while spouses prowl Coles. While the centres fire alarms were ringing no-one was panicing or departing!
My favourite place to eat in Sydney. Everything is gluten free and most things are vegetarian or vegan as well, plus they cater to other intolerances like onion/garlic. Their menu is seriously huge - allow an extra 20 mins just to choose what you want!!
Amazing healthy and super yummy breakfast inside the Macquarie shopping centre, the place is just next to the Coles supermarket. Free guilty and super fresh good, super tasty and very accurate service. 100% recommended!
Delicious food! Great variety in the menu, especially vegan and vegetarian options! And lots of healthy of options too (as the cafes name suggests). I would highly recommend 👌🏾
This is the first cafe that Ive been to that caters well to a keto diet including macros and a varied menu. Service was lovely, brekkie was excellent, burgers and coffee were good too. Prices seem to be standard given quality and area. 💯 recommend!
Love this cafe. As a coeliac is great to have somewhere I can eat out and not have to worry about what I can and cant eat. The food is very tasty and they cater for lots of diets including keto and paleo.
Delicious breakfast spot, I had the Thai chilli tofu scramble & matcha late & my friend had the big breakfast. It was great! The bread was a bit weird though, maybe it was gluten free. I didn’t see that on the menu but over all still great!
What a find! Tucked away near Coles is this oasis of gorgeous food. The coffee is fabulous and the staff are lovely and friendly. Thank you for my egg white keto kale omelette. It was really tasty and good for me!
Fantastic food great variety of healthy, tasty, delicious meals and delightful treats. Lovely hot and cold drinks choices too. Friendly people, fabulous place.
Not just great food but the best options for kids both tasty and healthy, unfortunately this is so rare. Will definitely visit again.
I love this place! One of my go tos every time Im at Macquarie Centre. The food is super delicious and theres a huge range so I always have something new to try. The loveliest staff as well, who once even stayed open for my friend and I to have some dinner before they closed. So in love with this place! Highly recommend.
For those following a low carb eating program this is a great place to eat out. The menu shows the nutritional values of each choice and they have a whole section of the menu dedicated to keto. The coffee was really good to.
Its never a good thing when the staff hold your coffee cup by the rim. Basic hygiene! The coffee was weak, lacked body and took an age to arrive. Food is tasty but very expensive for what you get. In general, service is slow. Thats fine if youve got the time, but on a Friday at lunch time with the place half empty, why did everything take so long?
The food here is quite nice and the portions are decent. Service was excellent. They have very good healthy options. Would come back to try other menu options.
Wasnt to impressed with the speed of service, taste of food and value for money at this place.Wont be returning anytime soon...Disappointed with my decision to go here. The presentation was the only thing it had going for it.Save your money, go elsewhere.
This place was a welcome discovery for me. Its so convenient to be able to walk in and order anything knowing it is gluten free. Coffee is nice and every dish I have tried is awesome.
Excellent food, definitely add this one to your list of health food cafes to try
My favorite gluten free place! Love the variety and the unusual taste of each meal! The salad bowl is big I just wish it would be in a flat platter..and a must try the pork with sweet potato! Wow brilliant mix! I enjoyed it so very much!
Ordered 2 eggs (no bread+ bacon + some spinach and the manager was about to charge me $21! I always order this in different cafes and costs max $11-12 so I was shocked and cancelled the order. Then went and got the exact same at coffee club for $9 lol
I have been coming here for the past few weeks and can say I’m impressed by the whole ethos of the place and the owners. Food is prepared with care and they seem to take pride in what they do. Weekends are usually packed but plenty of room through the weekdays. They cater to Keto/Vegan Gluten Free or just plain old tasty. Coffee is nice too. Staff so friendly. I’ll be back again and again
Nice place near the grocery and food court area. Location is very easy. Staff could be friendlier. They could be a lot more generous with their condiments like butter and jam. Pleasent cafe to do your morning run sheets. My favorite part about the cafe was the back wall. It is so pretty with tile designs. Makes you feel like in cute Portuguese cafe.
Mate, Health Freak Cafe is the ultimate place to hit up if youre a coeliac. Its a 100% gluten free and refined sugar free cafe and its packed full of choice. As a coeliac its nice to go out to eat and be able to pick anything from the menu. Their Nutritional Lattes are so tasty and all go great with soy milk. Ive gone a few times and they have delicious keto and paleo options too. Last time I went I got the Mexican Nacho Bowl + Lean Beef and Beans (sans sour creamand it was full of flavour as well as being very filling (calories 593, protein 43, fat 27, carbs 35 w/ sour cream). The menu tells you the calories, protein, fat and carbs of each food item which is great if you track you intake. The meals are a good price for what you get. By no means are the meals/drinks/desserts the cheapest however they are all gluten free and the quality is top notch so I think the prices are justified. The staff have always been lovely plus the free water they have for customers has fresh orange slices in it - such a nice touch. Health Freak cafe looks dope as well; it has a clean, cute vibe and is casual. I love this place and totes recommend it. Will 1000% go back (:
3.7 - Had a smoothie here whilst I did some tasks on my laptop. It was a really nice warm spot and allowed me to enjoy some time on my own. The Matcha Blueberry Smoothie was nice although the paper straw got very soggy when I was halfway through so I just grabbed another one. It also needed a spoon as big bits of Banana was on the bottom. A tad expensive at $10.
Im a vegan, my wife has Coeliac disease. Were a really annoying couple to cater for. This cafe, however, is where we go for mini-dates since it handles both of our needs. The service has always been excellent and the food and coffee are always on point. They even do uber eats, so if youre ever dealing with difficult eaters, just order something and get it delivered to you. We love this place.
Love love love this cafe! As the name suggests they have lots of healthy options and have sections on their menu specifically for Vegan, Paleo and very specially for me...Keto diets! Absolutely love their coconut breakfast waffles!
Nice coffee. But the Eggs Benedict savoury waffle didn’t really work out for me. Pick something else.
Great variety of healthy food and all gluten and sugar free. The pear ice tea is nice and refreshing though. Recommend trying it. Red ice tea seems like an acquired taste as it is quite tart. Not convinced the flavours work.Moroccan chicken salad was good but dressing was bland. Chicken was good.Sweet potato fries were a fail. Soggy and tasteless.Chicken avocado protein burger was ok but as it uses gluten free bread it falls apart.
I would have put a 4.5 star but couldnt. The burger I had tasted great the only thing was it little dry. Great menu with lots of options for various health goals and diet requirements. I.e. gluten free, refunded sugar free, high protein, vegan etc
Had the paleo chicken burger which has this amazing sauce on it and the boyfriend had a keto stack which he really enjoyed. We shared the coconut ice cream and blueberry pancakes and some raw desserts after which were AMAZEBALLS! The staff were so genuinely friendly! Highly Recommend going.
We discovered Health Freak Cafe today and decided to give it a try. My daughter is coeliac and with concerns over cross contamination we just dont go to cafes anymore.Given all of the food served here is gluten free we didnt have to worry about cross contamination. We tried a couple of deserts and the coffee. We were a bit apprehensive regarding the deserts. Gluten free, sugar free AND dairy free? We werent so sure they would taste nice but THEY DID!!! The deserts were so yummy we bought an extra one to take home. The service was great, the staff were friendly and really helpful, the food was great. The only downside for us was that the tables for 4 were all taken so we sat along the counter. That just goes to show how popular they are. The coffee could have been a bit warmer.Well go there again for sure. We re keen to try some of the lunch options.
Love the food! Great to see delicious vegetarian and vegan options available. Coffee is a winner. Staff are always helpful and very friendly.
Expected more based on reviews. Too much dressing. Not asked if I like it. Plates get taken after people leave. Relatively quiet at Saturday 08:30.
Sugar and Gluten Free!My family of 5 were in foodie heaven. My daughter is coeliac so this place is perfect.
So many options, which as a coeliac, I was in heaven! They have so many fresh options, keto, vegan and all GF and Sugar free. The meals we ordered were packed full of flavor and came out very quickly. My new favourite place for sure!
Coffee not so amazing, otherwise these guys would get a 5 (they need better coffee beansI’m a tough marker. Pancakes are awesome and guilt free with the coconut ice cream and Nutella sauce (very light and not over the top). Friendly and fast service so overall I would highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back
Just go here for goodness sake! Friendly staff, and a tasty range of gluten free, sugar-free, dairy free (gets my vote), raw and non-raw dishes. I demolished this slice of raw caramel raspberry cake in 1 min flat. Tucked in a nook up on level 3, a great place to chill between epic shops.
The food here is creative and delicious.I love the variety and the fact that I can choose anything from the menu and know it works with the way I like to eat- nutritious and tasty without any nasties; just real, whole food. The coffee is great too, but I especially like their hot cacao 👌
Very good vegan and vegetarian options. They have coconut milk as an option for coffee. I have tried several dishes and they are always delicious. I highly recommend the vegan banana bread, vegan big breakfast, vegan burgers and vegan zucchini fritters. The service is always friendly and fast.
Love the smashed avocado served here. Friendly service, with a nice ambience. Love the lemon infused water, together with those blue glasses. Only sugar free, healthy gluten free food is served here. Thank you very much, keep it up.
Staff are friendly, cafe is clean and the food looks good. I only had a coffee which was $5.20 for a large and not that great. Would not recommend for coffee unless youre having it with their food.
Lovely staff and great food. A must if you have special il dietary needs since everything is gluten free. A large selection of vegetarian, vegan or pale dishes, so theres something for everyone. The staff are also more than happy to adjust the meals in case you got a specific preference. The breakfast options and the smoothie bowls are definitely our favourites.
Awesome gluten free food! Sydney needs more places like Health Freak Café that are dedicated gluten free kitchens where people who suffer from coeliac disease do not have to worry about contamination of food. The food is fresh, healthy and delicious. The sweet potatoes chips are amazing - crispy and not fried, but double baked. I’m looking forward to trying more of the menu soon. Thanks very much!
