Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Fargo in Moorhead

No continental breakfast, dirty room, couch is stained and yuck! Prices are $$$! Front desk check in was decent but weird. Interstate could be heard through the window and air conditioner. The bathroom needs updating and was filthy. If you expect a quiet night’s rest… you won’t get it here. Would I stay here again? No!

Currently staying here in a1 bedroom suite. Upon arrival to room, it was clearly not clean. There was powder on kitchen counter, hair in bathroom, and a sock on bedroom floor. My room smells like smoke and the bedding smells like the Dove shower soap in the bathroom. The laundry room has 3 washing machines, but only one works- it is in use every time I look. I admit that I havent asked management to fix issues, but I work long hours, and do not want to deal with it. I will probably just never stay at a Candlewood again. Lesson learned.

For long term stays, laundry services are a necessity. I intentionally booked this hotel for accommodations of kitchenette/laundry. The laundry room is utterly disgusting. Either the washer/dryer are constantly broken or the laundry room is in disarray. This area of the hotel needs better up keep!!!!! The washer machines are filled with grim and I can imagine the bacteria its harboring.One morning the front desk attendant had to literally help me clean out the washing machine because it was filled with grim and filth. The housekeeper literally saw us cleaning it and did not even attempt to help. The detergent trays should be removed by housekeeping and cleaned daily to prevent excessive buildup. The amount that I had to clean up prior to using the machine was horrible! It clearly showed this area is not being monitored as it should be. Management and Corporate need to completely order new machines or have a massive disinfecting cleaning system!!! If the whole building was recently renovated, why was this high traffic area not included for new machines? I’ve stayed at other Candlewood Suites and the upkeep was 100% better. I’d expect management to keep tabs on frequently used items and either fix what’s broken or order new sets! I imagine it should be in the budget! I shouldn’t have to hear on the elevator from other guests how horrible the laundry room is. If I’m paying for an amenity I expect better service!
