Fantastic day at the hawk conservation fabulous displays and informative staff well laid out. We spent around 5 hours there. We took a packed lunch but there is freathers cafe to buy snacks and meals. We all had a drink from the mobile drinks area at the mid display. we had taken a picnic and there are enough seats around to enable you to picnic around.

I went there as it was hired for a private party in the evening so we werent there for any of the falconry displays, but we did have a opportunity to look at the majestic birds. They are impressive the enclosures were large and stimulating and the birds and owls were great looking, the sheen on their coats of feathers were shimmery. I would imagine that during the day they would be more impressive especially when the falconry arena is open for use by them. I would recommend going

Visited the Hawk Conservancy Trust tonight for their Hunters at Sunset event, and yet again I cant recommend them to visit highly enough. We arrived to be greeted by two helpful members of staff who gave us quick itinerary for the evening, then went through to the bbq. Im vegetarian and as always was fully catered for. The food is always great here! We were then treated to two amazing flying displays, and thanks to the very knowledgeable and entertaining team (Tom, James, Jenny & SImonit was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.Cannot recommend this place enough, whether its for a daytime visit or to attend one their evening events, you will have the time of your life!

Brilliant place to visit. Excellent displays with very informed and entertaining commentary. A truly wonderful experience. Staff were fantastic around the Birds. The only negative on the day was the Coffee offering in the Restaurant. The Cappuccino was tasteless, weak and can only be described as warm Milk with a dusting of Chocolate. The filter Coffee was even worse. The taste was a mix of swamp water and the inside of an old Thermos Flask. It was beyond palatable. All that said, well worth a visit but taking your own beverage is recommended.........

Absolutely brilliant. Exceeded all expectations and the displays were magical. Not just a handler in a glove but a whole performance leading up to several birds together swooping down above our heads.Set aside several hours for your visit as you wont want to leave.

A really lovely place with lovely knowledgeable staff and some beautiful birds. As its a permanent place, its so much more than a falconry display that you get at various events. The have 3 themed arenas with specific shows to display specific types of birds. Theyre all designed to have them fly really close to you. A real spectacle. The rest of the park is modest in size, with generous enclosures. The cafe is nice and reasonably priced. The shop has a lot of locally produced things with a game for the kids to do as they go around the park. My only criticism is, the shows are spaced throughout the day and its hard to have enough in between to fill the gaps if the schedule of talks doesnt appeal.

Great day out watching the wings of Africa, valley of the eagles, and the woodland owls displays. Get ready to duck as the birds fly over your head. The talks are very informative about the birds you are watching and about the conservation work they do. They have a gift shop, cafe and a picnic area.

I have been here a couple of times before, and the experience is constantly good.I would advise planning on spending the entire day here as there are events all through the day. There are usually 3 main flying events, and they are spectacular. 1 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.Large birds of prey and Owls flying a feathers distance away - through the audience, just above the audience, and occasionally perching between or on the visitors! There are also a number of other talks and demonstrations throughout the day.The site facilities might appear low key, however, they are just right for the setting and very good. Lots of picnic tables and chairs- some under cover (turn right out of gift shop / entranceso you can bring your own lunch. There is also a great canteen that seems quite adept at dealing with the mad rush just after the morning flight demonstration. Reasonable food at reasonable prices - think local pub grub.Such a visit will be affected by the weather, as flying displays may not happen in adverse conditions. The money spent visiting does good work.

Had a really lovely day out today. It was really amazing to see just how well loved and cared for the birds are. We thoroughly enjoyed the flying displays and spent 6 hours looking around - and didnt get bored for a single second. The Trust is doing an amazing job and well worth every penny. It was also emotionally touching to learn that some of the beautiful birds are so close to extinction. The Trust are doing an amazing job and I would describe it as a fun experience, as well as educational and emotional. The only negative was that we qued in the rain for the 3.30pm Woodland show, which was delayed by 10 minutes due to guests paying extra for a photography experience that remained in the arena. It left me thinking that regular paying guests take a back seat to those paying more money into the trust. (even though it was tipping it down with rain!I would suggest they did something about this to ensure greater customer care, as it was not nice standing out in the rain for an additional 10 mins. I would not say it put a downer on the experience - but it was off-putting! I would recommend they look into this as if it happens often it is not acceptable! As it is never nice being treated like a second-class citizen.Would I return, 100% yes, but if they repeated the above, then I would not return again even though it was a brilliant day out. The Trust let themselves down on that one!

Visited from Devon for the first time yesterday after hearing many good things from friends. Wow… absolutely did not disappoint. You can tell the staff care so much about the birds. They were left to fly-freely during their flying slots and were encouraged to fly far and high to explore the local area. It is so healthy to see falconers having a trusting relationship with their birds. The flying displays were just incredible and some wild red kites and buzzards even got involved too (including Ian!). It was all natural as there were purpose build areas for flying, big aviaries and very close up performances (sometimes a little too close with the vultures…!!the music made the atmosphere so special and even comical at times. The barn owls flying in the woodland was just so beautiful and I cannot wait to go back there. Food was amazing, staff were so knowledgeable and had much time for questions from the public. Such a wonderful place and you can tell the staff love what they do. Something for everyone there and incredible value. Thank you Hawk Conservancy, I will be back!

Amazing flying displays that were well paced throughout the day that meant it was easy to spend all day here. There are good toilets and baby changing facilities, although these are at the front of the park. The entry fee is a bit pricey at £20 for an adult but you can use clubcard point to make this more affordable.

Had an amazing time at the Hawk Conservancy this weekend. The place is so well kept, clean & tidy, beautiful grounds and really loved the wildflower meadow. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We paid extra for the burrowing owl experience and it was totally worth it. These cute little owls will just come and sit on your hand. All the flight demonstrations were brilliant, I wish we hadnt missed the first one of the day, would definitely go back.

Brilliant day out to see a variety of birds of prey including owls, hawks, falcons and vultures. There were several shows including a vulture talk, wings of Africa show, eagles show and owl show in the woods. There also was a nest building workshop and trailer rides on as well. The restaurant had a good range of lunch foods including jacket potatoes, toasted sandwiches, baguettes and other cooked food. There was a good range of cakes as well, with some gluten free options available. The gluten free Victoria sponge was lovely. You can also have weddings here, there was one today in the building next to the wings of Africa display area, where the wedding guests watched the show from their balcony. It was mentioned they had a barn owl carry their wedding rings during the ceremony. You can also purchase a membership to the Hawk conservancy trust and have your days ticket price refunded for joining up.They do a lot of great conservation work at the trust.

A wonderful day out for the family. The trust is not a large place, but that only adds to the experience. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. There were 3 displays with a number of different birds on show. All of the information placards were informative and good for the children to read themselves. The cafe is good serving freshly cooked food. I’d highly recommend this to anyone, especially if you have a love of wildlife.

A fantastic day out especially in glorious weather like today. The staff were so knowledgeable and engaging during the flying demonstrations which were brilliant. We also sponsor the nest box programme.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This evening we went on the Winter Woodland Lights tour at the Hawk Conservatory Trust. What a fantastic job they have done to bring the essence of night and nature to life with lights, music and words. You have to go to appreciate the magic 😉The second half of the evening was a close up display with beautiful owls flying so close that you might have one brush your hair as they fly over and around you. .So well done I feel a renewal of my connection to nature that I have missed through all the grind of life through the last couple of years.I feel grounded, educated, peaceful and a sense of wonder , once more for this beautiful planet.Thank you team.Inspired would be an understatement! 🙏🙏

Amazing place! Would highly recommend to all nature lovers. There is a real intimate vibe to the centre which sets it apart from zoos. The resident birds are all beautiful and clearly very well cared for by staff. The two displays were incredibly well done and quite emotional. I also did the burrowing owl experience which was such a hoot!My only suggestion is please provide more vegan options at the restaurant.

Some of the enclosures have seen better days, but supporting the Trusts work and the flying demonstrations make a visit absolutely worth it. Planning your day around the demonstration times is essential, with hawks, owls and vultures flying close enough overhead that youll need to duck, and the staff are friendly and enthusiastic to share information about the birds on display. Plus the burrowing owls are adorable.

A great day out with a friendly and clearly passionate team that conserve and promote the safety of wild birds around the world. On site there is a nice cafe and shop, plenty of seating around the reserve, 3 or 4 flying displays and information about the work they do. At additional cost you can take part in other falconry and bird experiences.I personally love vultures (not having any native to the UK), it was great to get close to them and see them flying.

I eventually really enjoyed visiting the Trust! Initially I was put off by some of the stationary birds in their cages... must have been nap time. But the bird displays were outstanding! Where the handlers fly the birds in large outdoor, not enclosed areas, so the birds could just fly off. Very enjoyable! The large birds end up flying over, through and around you!! (And in some cases large owls actually perching on the bench you are seated at! Tip: when you walk into the owl woodland display, sit on the back row close to upright wooden posts just over a meter tall behind the outer row of benches - the owls fly between the wooden posts and perch on them and the nearby benches). Another tip because you are deserve it is... at the furthest "meadow" display where they get loads of birds flying around sit on the upper deck at the back or two rows from the back in the middle - birds fly from each of the sides - you will note wood covered with green fake grass the birds land on - they fly very close back and forth. Amazing!!! There are about 4 of these displays over a 6 hour stretch of time - worth it for adults but kids might get a bit stir crazy? Great facilities both indoors and outdoors for refreshments. Nice gift shop and ample parking. The only thing I wasnt keen about which give this otherwise 5 out of 5 review was some of the birds get tethered to the ground whilst they are being displayed. Im sure it doesnt hurt them but it made me feel uncomfortable. So go visit and decide for yourself and make sure you plan to hit the bird display event times as they are amazing!
