Laid-back cigar bar with a stocked humidor, classic cocktails, wine & spirits, plus a patio.
This is a great bar. Night we went they had all doors open, live 3 pc band. Nice peeps & relaxed vibe. IT IS A CIGAR BAR! There will be cigar smoke and smoking. They pour a good drink! Nice selection of liqour!
Great place to share a cigar with friends. Only reason for the 4 stars is they are so popular they were out of stock on many of their cigars.
Utterly amazing whiskey collection and an absolutely fantastic setting to relax and enjoy a fine stick!
Went there a year ago and had an ok experience albeit two non-friendly bartenders. Figured it to be a fluke. Was WRONG! Went back last night while visiting Omaha and the bartender was even worse. Stood at the bar for close to 10 minutes. No acknowledgement or interest in helping at all. Cool vibe but horrible service. Will not return. And it was not on a holiday as the owner points out in their reply. It was on Sunday night, the night before Labor Day. How about you stop replying to peoples negative posts with garbage as you did below to others.
Humidor is out which hey it happens. But there was a group who kinda pushed their way in front of me and were asking questions about the 4 sticks you had for sale and the guy says, "well theyre basically all the same so just pick one". He finally gets to me and I quickly tell him exactly whst I want and said Im not part of the group he gives me a smarmy reply and says something like well none of you are together so I dont really care. Yeah I walked out. And I was sure to tell everyone on my way out that they shouldnt give you their business. I will never be back learn how to do your job and be a decent person!
Austin was a wonderful host and made my experience very enjoyable... Im really glad I got to check this place out while in Omaha.
Im not experienced with wines or cigars but familiar enough to describe what I enjoy. The staff was knowledgable enough to make an excellent recommendation in the price range I was looking for. Great place to be casual or formal. Either engage socially or keep to yourself and this is the perfect environment for either. Fantastic location in downtown Omaha. I quite look forward to visiting again soon.
My friend and I went to have one drink and it was a good atmosphere. Our bills came to about $10 each but when looking at our bank statements we were both charged $25. Would not recommend unless you want to be charged double what your actual bill was without your knowledge
It was okay. Its a typical bar thats trying to be atypical. It has potential but the bar tender was wishing that she was somewhere else and it got loud, really loud.
Great service amazing cigars kick back for sure
Never had a bad experience its a pretty chill cigar here in omaha. Its also a convenient location downtown in the old market.
Went in here with a couple of friends who know a lot about cigars. The bartender seemed totally put out by the couple of questions we had because they cigars weren’t priced. We ended up buying three cigars, but would definitely not come back. Totally unfriendly service. It’s unfortunate because it’s a great atmosphere.
The bartender was very aggressive!! We left immediately because it felt like an unsafe situation. Be warned, it isnt safe environment for women!
First time being here and the male bartender was way too rude, hostile, and aggressive. My friend and I quickly drank the one drink we bought and left right after. Will never be back.
Worst experience I’ve had at a bar let alone a cigar bar that you would expect to be a classy and inviting establishment.
Absolutely horrible experience. Came in to grab a shot and the male bartender was EXTREMELY aggressive. There were other customers at the bar that stated their uncomfort as well. The entire experience was horrible. After receiving our drinks my friend and I were talking at the bar and the bartender slammed two glasses down and asked what our problem was, I asked him if we had done something wrong and he loudly explained they had closed at 1. I was confused as we had walked in around 1:05 and asked if they were open prior to ordering. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable and as stated before, several other bar guests expressed their discomfort as well. Disappointed as the first time I came here was an excellent experience so I had decided to bring friends that were visiting and we were treated so rudely it was humiliating and honestly the way he spoke was completely uncalled for. Sadly will never be back.
Was in town last night and stopped in. Had a wonderful experience and awesome staff! Can’t wait to stop back!
Pros: Atmosphere is chill, the people and bartenders are friendly and interesting, and the prices are fair. The occasional live music is a good touch.Cons: The cigars sold at the Havana garage are limited in variety and the humidor is not properly kept. Invariably a cigar bought there will be very dry, at least what I’ve seen in the last several months; bring your own. I’ve been to better cigar lounges in regards to cocktail/liquor variety.Overall it’s a good spot, but the dry cigars/lack of diverse classic cocktail options kinda kill the vibe for folks that don’t want just straight whiskey. For what’s available in Omaha, however, it’s your best and only option.
Love this place! No better atmosphere then their back patio.
This place is fantastic! The bartender greeted me & my friend right away and he was very friendly & helpful regarding selecting a good gar and a fabulous table at the entrance. We will be returning for many visits to come.
Don’t show up. They are absolute losers. Lost key to humidor and acted like it was my fault. Would give 0 but then can’t post this review. Never come here.
I was sold a defective cigar, was told they cannot do refunds or exchanges and Id have to go to a separate business if I wanted to ask about a refund. Wont be back, buyer beware.
Great bar. Go to their cigar shop across the street to get a better selection of sticks. Then spend the rest of the evening here.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff, good drinks, good cigar selection. Patio area where we sat was a bit dirty but otherwise a nice and relaxing experience
Low key bar with a few cigar selections. I would suggest bringing your own stuff to smoke and allowing the staff to help you find something interesting to drink. Exhaustive alcohol selection with emphasis on letting the alcohol speak for itself rather than building fancy drinks.
Absolutely love this place! Favorite place to go when I want to get away from life! Love the vibe love the owner and the people he has working behind the bar! There attentive and remember you! And because it is downtown the regulars that come in make it a place that have to go to to just catch up or have a little piece and quiet!
Great selection of whiskey and perfect location for airport travel!!!
Its a real busy but yet still peaceful bar. everyones friendly knowledgeable about drinks the service comes with a smile and the drinks are always made amazingly and theyre amazing at remembering your drinks and always checking in when your drinks getting low whether you need another one.
Update March 2022; the look and feel of the bar is much better. The humidor had been moved upstairs and the cigar selection is paired down, is stocked, but still a good selection. The full cigar selection is at S.G.Rio Tobacconist across the street. The staff are attentive and personable. And you are treated like a regular even if it is your first time.Have stopped in multiple times for a cigar and beverage only to find empty boxes and empty space where cigars should be. One could look at that and assume business is good, which it may be, then the Tobacconist should be mindful of the stock and replenish. Overall for a bar, nice cozy feel. Bartenders have been friendly as well as wait staff. The spirit selection is standard for a cigar bar.
Short walk from our hotel downtown. Band was playin, place was feeling it. It was little crowded but it died down, finally moved to a seat at the bar. If your a WHISKEY/ BOURBON/ SCOTCH etc, drinker this IS the spot! SERIOUSLY..There is some rare stuff in here, from around the region, some that is bottled from allocated casks..Scotches, Whiskey from Scotland, Ireland, Hibiki, Pappys. Hell, Templeton Distillery is right across the river in Iowa (Council Bluffs is across the river). Anyway...Check your ego at the door if you dont wanna smell like cigar smoke, because the whiskeys goood. We were here at an annual volleyball tournament, well definitely be coming back! 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃
Incredible selection of bourbon, rye, scotch, and other whiskeys, with a full range of prices. They offer beer and wine, also. We originally came to see a singer-song writer perform, but stayed even after finding out he had to cancel. Just a great place to chill and have a cigar if youd like.
I have been off and on coming to this place for years and love the decor and atmosphere. With that said why does the service continue to get worse as the years go by. This is the Old Market one of Omaha’s finest places to visit and hang out. I have taken many of my clients here after a great dinner experience all to leave this place in continued disgust why the Managment/Owner condone this lack of service and pure laziness from its bartenders and servers? Oh sorry I said servers and they have lost that title long ago. To be completely ignored with 2 staff members and 7 patrons is not what I would expect out of any service business in the area. We finally walked out after being rudely ignored multiple times.
The location is great and it is a gorgeous bar! The bourbon selection it top notch! They also had a great selection of cigars. My husband and I went early, between 5:30 and 6:30. The older guy behind the bar seemed miserable and treated us as such. Maybe he was just in need of a nap or just sick of people.Thank goodness the two lady bartenders showed up while we were there, they were in Halloween costumes and brightened our visit tremendously. The older lady was super cool and friendly and talked bourbon with us for a minute.I give it four stars for location, selection of bourbon and cigars, the kind lady that saved the customer vibe and a cute puppy at the bar that I got to pet.
Back patio is nice, however; they have almost no cigar selection now(because "they make more selling drinks"), the bartender was uninterested in helping me choose a cigar from their paltry selection, my cigar was given a straight cut without my being asked(I prefer a punch cut), and my whiskey old fashioned tasted like it was made by a drunken teenager and had chunks of sugar that werent dissolved as well as being made with muddled orange pulp(instead of a neat garnish of orange peel). Really just a shoddy bar at this point. I gave 2 stars because I like the patio.
I wish I could give no stars. My friends and I walked into Havana Garage and was not greeted at all. What actually happened is the worker stared at my friends and I as if we are not supposed to be there instead of welcoming us and offering seating or a menu. I have to say this is by far the most unacceptable behavior towards potential customers. My friends and I are military vets and never expected this type of treatment in this town. Very disappointing and I would not recommend anyone to come here expecting great or even basic customer service.
Tyler and Gerald are knowledgeable (and hilarious). This place has the most impressive whiskey selection I’ve ever seen. Awesome experience - I’ll be back next time I’m in Omaha.
Relaxed atmosphere. Old fashion is excellent. Great place to relax meet new folks and enjoy life
Excellent whisky selection. Prices may not be what one might hope for, but they earn the difference in knowing what they are doing. Im not one for smoking cigars myself, but members of my party are, and they got really good advice on what to try and how to enjoy it. If you have just decided to take up either whisky or cigars, they know enough to give you info a first experience and coach you through finding your pleasure
Always an excellent spot. Back patio cant be beat locally, front is great for people watching/convo (big tables promote some random interaction if desiredProbably the best lounge around if you enjoy cigars of which they usually have in their walk-in humidor - currently under renovation - you can also bring your own or one from nearby S.G.Roi. When theres bands, theyre just right for the occasion. Great array of spirits and bartenders who know how to use them. Taps are solid and overall pair well with most cigars but, used to be better imo.
Have never been here. It was 130 am and my phone was dead. Walked by this place and curiosity and need for adventure took over. Set myself up by an outlet, a Crown & Coke served with a smile, amongst a group of obviously satisfied patrons. Loved it. WILL BE BACK!
Love this place to relax. Good cigar selection and good drink options. Can be heavy on the wallet though, but dont let this discourage you. Great atmosphere.
So I have one for sure thing that I do when in Omaha... I go downtown and have a cigar at Havana garage... It might not be an option for much longer. I hope I am wrong. My father and I showed up after dinner to watch some Monday night football. We walked in and immediately were told to put mask on and keep them on. Ok your place your rules. I will follow the house rules. But when the bartenders friends walked in with no mask it was not an issue! So that’s small potato’s. Walked down the stairs to grab a cigar from their humidor. I have always been excited about that because that have a great selection of cigars... well at least they had a huge selection. The humidor was 90% empty. My guess is they only had around 50 sticks in the humidor total. So we inquired about the lack of cigars and were told some story about the suppliers not having enough cigars to supply them! The two other cigar shops we had visited were completely stocked from floor to ceiling. So I don’t know why their supply would be limited. Upon sitting down and lighting up my AVO cigar which was a nice smoke. We turned our attention to the game. Trying to enjoy the game when the biggest table in the room just started to get really loud and obnoxious. I am ok with loud, but when it’s F this and f that and f you it’s just uncalled for. So that was a put off. I hope that this place survives, lord knows Covid put a hurting on everyone. But this place felt like it was on its last breath. Again I hope i am completely wrong and when I head back up next year get to enjoy a cigar there.
Nice bar where you can smoke cigars. They have a front and a back patio as well as a downstairs area.Located in the old market. At least 3 pokestops can be reached while sitting in the back. (It might have been 4)Parking is on the street for the most part or walk further and there will be a few paid lots.
Havana Garage is one of my favorite places on the planet! Enjoy a cigar and a great beverage. Ask the bartender for a recommendation. Great service and amazing ambience. Enjoy!
I have been to numerous cigar bars but this is hands down one of my favorite. Their humidor offers a wide variety of options to fit anyone’s liking from first timers to seasoned smokers. The staff was friendly and attentive. Add this to a superb location in the Old Market and you can guarantee your experience will be top notch.
Sweet little spot in Omaha. Great cigars and bourbon selection. Also great prices! Friendly staff 😁
This is an excellent place with a ton of whiskey offerings totaling from low to high end I enjoyed the staff and the people there I went around 3 in the evening and it was kind of slow but many people started showing up around 4:30 to 5 they have a limited selection of cigars I only saw a couple of things that I smoke the humidor is downstairs and they have to buzz you in to the humidor for you to be able to make a selection the ventilation is very good the glasses were clean the restrooms are clean the staff was very friendly and very professional they will let you order food from venues that are nearby and either theyll go get it or the venue will bring it to you they do not serve food natively they also have beer on tap I think I counted somewhere around 7 to 8 taps its in a very cool area on a Brick Street in the downtown area they also have an outside sitting area I would recommend anyone who is in town look this place up if you want to go have a smoke they also have a sister store around the corner that has a much larger selection of cigars that you can buy and bring to this place to have a smoke you have to be a member to smoke at the other place with the largest humidor.
Amazing selection of bourbon and cigars. You cant go wrong with this place if youre a bourbon lover
I cant say enough good things about this place. Im in town several times per year and this is a must visit spot for me, every time. Great cigar selection (or bring your own), the service from the staff is AMAZING, and the drinks are great! Great for groups to get together over drinks and cigars or to simply come by yourself to relax and unwind.
Great cigar bar with terrific service and an extensive menu of high end scotches, whiskeys, etc.
