Hathor Hotel in Aswan

This is the second time I visit Hotel Hathor. Good budget option compared to the rest for a small private double with hot or lukewarm water, AC, fridge and Nile view. I have always stayed in the rooms with a Nile view, both in the large triple with view from 2 windows and in the small romantic double with a beautiful view. If you are careful, you can go up to the now dated terrace to enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Aswan and the Nile. Historic 2 star hotel from the 70s that feels its age but decently clean for local standards and above all comfortable beds and nice pillows. Very helpful staff and family atmosphere. The director Mohammad Ibrahim is a true gentelman, the sweetest and kindest person I have ever met in Egypt. He also speaks various languages ​​including Italian. Tours at the best prices. The staff of the Hotel is always helpful and friendly. Safe place where they dont let strangers in. Dont expect western standards. As a good traveler I always carry with me personal sheets and a towel which also in this case are useful for having the same comforts as at home. In any case, the hotel provides towels, hand soap and clean sheets. There is a room cleaning service every day even if I prefer to disinfect the environment by myself at least on the first day (especially the bathroom). Within walking distance you will find the main market where you can buy everything. The location of the Hotel in the center of Aswan, the comfort of the beds and pillows, the kindness of the staff and its enchanting view are its strengths. You will never find anything better for the same buget. I recommend this place to both locals and tourists like me.

Rooms are very small, dirty bed linen and blankets, old furniture, the only advantage is its location at the center of Aswan on the Nile Corniche.

Maybe it is old, but very clean and comfortable and the owner is a respected gentleman and popular. They have a very good staff, provide everything for customers. Price is reasonable with execelent service and execelent view and location.Very safety and beside all the service, markets and shops.I recommend everyone to try it.I like it, I am lovin it.(Attached photos took from the hotel room, this is the view from the hotels room)

ا زباله فندق شوفتو فى حشرت

الموقع جميل على النيل فى وسط المدينه ولكن تجهيزات الفندق والخدمه لا تتناسب مع الموقع

This is the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in, found it in the lonely planet guide and knew it was budget but didnt expect this. The walls where dirty and bathroom wasnt clean. Had to request towels and toilet paper, shower was just a shower head in the corner of the bathroom and woke to find there was no water. The roof terrace is a deathtrap with a pool that looks like it hasnt had water in it in years and a toilet that has been used but with no water in it! AVOID

The hotel owner speaks Italian and English and was a very nice decent man. We got a nice room (basic room for three women), we always felt very comfortable and safe in the hotel. There was no breakfast but we were just 1 minute away from a street with a lot of delicious street food and also small market for fruits. We booked with this hotel our tour to Abu Simbel to a fair price and with very good conditions. They came to wake us up for Abu Simbel (you need to be ready very early in the morning but it is totally worth it), and they also gave us a breakfast to take away with us for the trip.

غرف سيئة لكن هناك خدمة و أناس جيدون يفعلون كل ما يرضيك و بدون مقابلحقا الخدمة جيده جدا

I wish I had a 0 or negative rating to give this place. Imagine the worst hotel you have ever stayed at, then try going down 10 levels below that. That is how bad this place is. They shut down the Air condition whenever they want. Ask for tips even to use the lift. Rooms with bedbugs and lizards. No water in the toilet. We ran off in a day.

Good budget option. 125 LE for single private with hot water, AC, and fridge. Old but totally clean with comfy beds nice pillows. Very helpful staff. Tours at fair prices. Stayed 3 nights and son of hotel owner even drove me to the bus station to figure out travel to Marsa Alam.Wouldnt recommend the wake up call as a solo female traveller. A guy came to my room instead of calling (room has working phoneand stared when I answered door in bed clothes. It was for the Abu Simbal trip so 3:30a night staff. Day staff is great tho.
