Hastings City Art Gallery - Art gallery in Napier, New Zealand
Great exhibition a highlight of my stay
We attended the vr tour and it was a good experience but the time given wasn’t enough to try all the different vr sets unfortunately. The lady that was taking the tour was just trying to kick us out near the end of the tour so it didn’t feel very welcoming.
Excellent!
Freindly and helpful staff who wanted to help you have a great experience. Very sffordable for anyone to visit. VR experience is anazing.
What a pleasant surprise! We came in for a pitstop and discovered this gem of a gallery. The VR exhibition on display was visually stimulating and above the quality expected.
Thumbs up to the front desk ladies, everyone was welcoming and friendly! 😊
Nice and Quant venue for an Art gallery
Interesting activities for children. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.
A wonderful gallery with very welcoming, well-informed and enthusiastic staff. The four main exhibitions (Printing, Out of the Shadows, the Maori womens writing, the video about sea currents and the topographic pieces were varied and compelling. A real pleasure to visit. Nga mihi

Amazing experience i gained a lot of inspiration from Artist Floor Talk: Kathy Boyle with members of the Print Council Aotearoa New Zealand and the amazing exhibitions currently on show at the gallery. Especially Flirting with Form exhibition which im so glad I got to experience before it was gone.
Was with a group of children who loved the time and seeing art for the first time

Something different to expect
Not an extensive range, but interesting in content.
Really loved the "lamentation" exhibit!
The gallery is a little small to rate highly. But its free entry and had 3 small exhibitions, so is worth popping in if youre in Hastings.
It is a little treasure ,hidden in Hastings. A beautiful space. My 14 year daughter and her friend were captivated by the Bob
For what is a small city in global terms, the Gallery consistently features a wide range of exhibitions. It also keeps children in mind with activities and space to show their creative abilities. The white Lego bricks last year was a (literallya huge success.
Love this space, always something cool on
Awesome art gallery. I got the chance to learn more about Jan Nigros work. As an Asian, her artworks are abit thought-provoking, but you can begin to understand her point of view from the well designed art gallery. Kudos! 👍🏼👍🏼👌🏻👌🏻
Good variety and great exhibition

Great little gallery, quality exhibits with quality works.Great childrens art room, I.interesting and engaging activities for the young.
Free to visit with some really interesting pieces. Quite small and compact so easy to just stop by on a whim.
Great little gallery, super friendly staff, great holiday programme, good parking, entry from civic square, it was free to walk around and look at the displays, the kids enjoyed themselves, there is a fountain in civic square too.
From it culturally aware lawn which acknowledges the Maori tribes of the East Coast to the warmth that is extended to the visitor is something you will also remember. This small gallery is home to great New Zealand exhibitions. When traveling to the Hawkes Bay this Gallery is one of first things I chose to do .
Quite a small gallery - they dont have any permanent artwork so really depends on what is on display at the time. They work we saw was awesome but it could probably be a bit hit or miss.
Friendly and helpful staff...great place for whole family...great exposure to some different concepts and perspectives...a lot of the exhibits are interactive... Keep up the good work
