Harvey's Smokehouse - Kosher restaurant in Jerusalem, Israel
Just great, the only smoked meat joint in Jerusalem, and its great, nice place great service and the meat is top notch
We tried a sampling of several types of meat and they were all great. Cant go wrong.
Nice atmosphere, nice concept, food decent but nothing stood out enough for a return visit
Was told it was amazing.... Worst BBQ ever... Was it a new pit master??? Tasted like it was his first time in the pit...
We made a reservation and they made us wait for over a hour and then said the kitchen is closed
Herveys food and drink are excellent.Their meats courses are yummy and not stingy. The smoked beef cuts are definitely worth a stop, and the dipping sauces are paired with the dishes in a way that really opens up more nuance and horizon in the flavor of the main dish. I was surprised by how good their cold-served dishes were, and I enjoyed them a lot too.The selection of beers to order is varied and intelligent - serving both foreign and delightful local brews. I only have this second-hand, though (since my friends ordered the beer, while I ordered cocktails). Their cocktail are good too, although leaning more into the alcoholic than sweet (which isnt my preferred direction, but I know others do like itbut they were still worth it.My friends and I sat outside in the cooling heat of Jerusalem, and got to enjoy the food and the conversation. Its not the first time weve gone to eat at Harveys and probably wont be the last. I recommend it to you too!
Did not enjoy the food. The ribs were completely overdone
Good food but they use hit spice when theres no need
This place is a taste from home, but not a good taste, it’s the taste that you can’t get rid of. The chicken wings are spicy and bland, and their main thing, the smoked beef, tasted like nothing. It’s over priced, and what you get is bland flavorless meat.
Bad food. Bad service. These guys really don’t care if you are happy or not. They just shrug their shoulders if you aren’t happy because they really don’t care.
One of the best steaks Ive ate. Maybe a bit much pepper, but very good. Expensive, but worth itEdit: went once again, they didnt have filet so I took entrecôte, it was way too fatty. And then the barmen tried to persuade me that there is a "law" to leave at least 10% tip, which was not nice at all.
Very disappointed. We ordered takeaway for the second time (the same sandwich), yet surprisingly it was nothing like the first time we ordered from them. The bread was dry and soggy. The meat was very dry, oily and salty. Plus the overall sandwich was very spicy.
Food quality is ok, steak was with too many fat - almost half of the portion. 170 ils is a bit expensive for such meat (and they were out of filletMoreover when we asked for a bill (around 500 for two), the barmen insisted we leave him bigger tip then we intended. He said otherwise he wont be possible to pay taxes and started to invent some other stuff which sounded absolutely unreliable. So we left with bitter taste.Though we used to eat here every time visiting Jerus now well look for some other meat house.
Harvey’s was a real treat to find, and so close to the old city. All four meats that we tried were delicious. The chopped salad that we got was also very good. And the service was excellent, they were happy to speak in either Hebrew or English. For you beer lovers, there are ample taps to choose from. The meat is of course kosher.
Very good place for a GREAT dinner. Friendly and pretty, wait staff, amazing food, good drinks and a nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for tasty, smoked meats in Jerusalem.
Really good service and decent cocktails, though we sent back our ribeye steak as it was tough. The burnt ends are a must have as is the brisket and the smoked turkey breast.
Didn’t meet the expectations, sorryFilet mignon - big noRibeye steak - mediocreSalad - not tastyGravy - big noPretty priceyIt’s not terrible but we won’t come back
Excellent food. Really good flavor. Smoked meats are great. Smokehouse salad is amazing. Asado is outstanding. Popcorn chicken and burnt ends are a favorite. Amazing appetizers and sides. Even an excellent non-dairy creme brûlée for dessert. Service was good. Great overall experience.
I probably gained 10 pounds and it was all worth it. Quality meat smoked to perfection and served in large portions.
A carnivores paradise! Its impossible to choose just one dish, which is why I loved the "build your own bbq platter" for a chance to taste a variety of Harveys delicious meats. The fire poppers and popcorn chicken made for delicious appetizers, and the apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (non-dairy, of course, but it didnt taste like it!for dessert was simply perfection. I cant wait to go back for more!
Great location, great food, great service. They do a meat olatter system where you order different meats on the menu by 100gram. So we got 300grams each of the brisket, cornbeef, shoulder, and lamb i believe. Some of us got cocktails and enjoyed them too. Also the harvey salad is delish with little facon(fake baconbits. Would recommend.
Great place. The brisket is delicious.
I love harvys anything and everything you order is delicious and also good priced
Really friendly and helpful staff. Food delivered quickly and up to a high standard. Really well seasoned and full of flavour. Would highly recommend.
Good service, make sure you reserve first. Tons of good options to order.
I was very much looking forward to our meal at Harveys so much so that I ate a very light lunch so I would have room for what I had hoped would be a very delicious meal. I was utterly disappointed to say the least. We met up with friends who were visiting from the States and wanted to show them a nice night out. At Harveys we were seated next to a generator and a dirty wall. The outdoor seating area was unimpressive with no effort made to make it look nice. Even with all that I still had high hopes that the good food would make up for the lack of decor, unfortunately that was not the case. The menu was not too overwhelming, which I actually like in a restaurant, but when we ordered there were multiple dishes that were not available from the appetizers, mains, and sides. The bbq wings we ordered were actually delicious and perfectly done with a tasty sweet bbq sauce. We all ordered cocktails and they were all very refreshing. The only problem was that three of us got the drinks with the appetizers and one of us didnt get their drink until a half hour later when we asked why it never showed up. Nevertheless we were overall satisfied with the first course and our drinks. Then it all went down hill when they brought us our order of french fries. We thought all the other food we ordered would be coming shortly thereafter, it did not. After finishing the french fries and waiting patiently we realized 45 minutes had passed and no one ever brought us more food. I went inside to ask what was going on and it seemed they had no clue what happened and it looked like they were cleaning up the kitchen for the night. The waiters and kitchen staff scrambled around trying to make heads or tails of the situation. A waiter then came to our table and apologized for the long wait and that the food would be out soon and wed be getting a 20% discount off the meal. When the food was finally served about 15 minutes later it looked like they slapped together the side dishes and meat we ordered and hoped for the best. Well it wasnt the best it was one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had and I was embarrassed that we brought our good friends to eat there. The mashed potatoes were inedible (they kindly didnt charge us for that), the onion rings looked like they were fried for the bear minimum amount of time. We barely touched any of the food, aside from it not tasting great we were just in the worst mood after waiting so long. They offered us two free desserts which was nice of them but we really just wanted to leave at that point. Honestly I think the discount should have been more than 20% off, it was painful to have paid over 500 shekel for such a lousy meal.
Pretty good bbq for Israel. I come from Kansas so I have high expectations of BBQ but for being in Israel its not too bad. Large portions and good cocktails.
Awesome smoked everything and then some!We were visiting from Jamaica and getting a little tired of the typical Middle Eastern flavors so we decided to try this spot. Everything was awesome.Top notch service. Our waitress was super and so were the chefs. You can tell they enjoy their work experience.Burnt ends were the best and the serving is definitely entree size. Shared with my friend and we could barely get through it along with our main meals.Chimichanga was also delicious and large.Smoked meats were good.Creme brûlée was great.Zero complaints. Wonderful all-round.
We had a large group of teenage boys and could not have chosen a better place for our night out. The food was perhaps the best bbq many of us have ever had and the portions were huge ( we stuck to the sandwiches for our mains ). The service was terrific and the desserts capped off a perfect evening !
Service was professional and highly attentive. Meat was flavorful and tender. Onion rings were handmade. Everything came with delicious sauce on the sideBathroom was spotless. Very clean.
Really poor service - I was shocked that after we ordered sandwiches to split between three people what we recieved burgers. When we told the server that wasnt what we ordered and if we had known we would have asked for the bigger option all he said was that they were out of that bread. We had originally ordered with that same waiter and he didnt seem to care that that was problematic. We also requested well dont and got a rare burger and the chips are the smallest portion I have seen in a restaurant. Really wasnt impressed and still shocked about the waiters demeanor with the sandwich issue.
Was a bit hard to find the new address but we did it :the new place is bigger and decorated every nicely.love this place and the food here is immaculate! So tasty🤤 If youre a meat lover this is the first place u should try when u come to Jerusalem.
The restaurant is amazing! Everything is really great. Delicious meet. We visited twice out of 4 times in Jerusalem. We will definitely visit again.
Delicious, succulent and well-worth the visit! Well visit again!
Wow!! Really really really good barbecue. The beef short ribs are amazing and the smoked brisket is among the best I have ever tried. This is a very small restaurant so I recommend you make a reservation.
Amazing restaurant! This is the 3rd time I went. Theyve recently extended their menu. Amazing smoked meat, and a good place to go with family. You buy meat by 100g, so you can order different types and taste everything this good restaurant has to offer. 10/10 would go again!
The meat was well smoked, the entrecôte was very good, the brisket and the chorizo were great. The filet medallions were too much salty. The side dishes were well, no more... Great for people that like spicy food and smoked meat, less good for fine cuisine seekers.
One of the very best restaurants in all of Israel. Everything is really great. Real Kosher BBQ. Great prices and so many different wonderful food to choose from. The mix of flavors is really incredible. Harvey has brought something completely new and innovative to the Jerusalem culinary scene. You have to experience this and then come back again and again! You should definitely make reservations as I saw disappointed people being turned away all night as there was simply no room.
Great place for barbecue! Our waiter was very friendly and we had wonderful dinner here. You can build your own platter from the meat options on the menu which is what we did, getting the brisket and asado (ribsalong with a couple sides.
Food was delicious I really liked it very good drinks I took the brisket sandwich it was very good one of the things I ordered was cold already when we got it so they gave us a new one which was very generous very good service very good seating very nice menu
An amazing restaurant, with an amazing chef and staff. Food is great
The food is good, though quite pricey. The service was well and the atmosphere was right.
Amazing smoked ribs! - we took a little bit of everything but the ribs OMG! - need to rob a bank and then buy the place so theyll have to deliver all the way to Qiryat Shemona!!! (Yes! Its that good!)
This is the best barbecue you can get in Jerusalem...oh wait, the only barbecue you can get in Jerusalem. The meat here is very high quality, it is smoked to perfection in a traeger smoker, which is one of the best smokers on the market, and the service is great. The prices arent cheap but you get what you pay for...I always get the asado its always good. The pulled shoulder is okay but some people might think its too dry. The brisket is usually great but sometimes its a little dry. I wouldnt bring a vegetarian here (or anywhere for that matterbut their Jerusalem salad is delicious and goes great with the meat. Highly recommended.
Delicious food. The staff was very nice. Make reservations!!!
Most amazing and only Smokehouse in Jerusalem .food was great, service was good and prices are fair .
Really great food!!! Service was very nice!! Highly recommend this place!!!
Finally a kosher BBQ joint in Jerusalem! The service was great, the food was perfect (asado, pulled shoulder, and burnt ends are all superb). Sides were great as well! 10/10
Amazing food, great service! Definitely coming back here
When in Jerusalem, get fajitas, they have a different taste, but they were great. A little sweeter than most of our Texas style fajitas but very good. And the free bread they give you, instead of chips and dip, WOW, it was awesome, especially with the tomato/pepper "spread". Id come back again and again if I lived here.
