80 Pyrmont St, Pyrmont NSW 2009, Australia, Sydney
Buffet-style, all-you-can-eat mains, salad and dessert menu, offered in a laid-back dining room.
Cut to the chase, I’m disappointed with the varieties. No salmon sashimi. The oysters were pretty small. Condiments such as tobacco sauce was hidden away from patron to access. As I’m not a fan of cooked prawns and poached cold crabs, they are mediocre to me. As a roast duck and bbq pork connoisseur, sorry to say they are not worth trying at all.Recommended: Sirloin steak and roast lamb were flavourful and succulent. The roast eggplant along the pizza area was well cooked and flavourful!By and large, $99.90 per pax, there are many other buffets around Sydney to choose from. Don’t think we will be going back.
Been there for celebrating our birthday. They have lots of seafood options at night time. We have to pay $5 extra each person for unlimited soft drinks. The dessert section also good. Bad luck that 90minutes for buffet wasnt enough to try all of them.
There is a plenty of seafood choice like oysters, shrimps, crabs, scollops and, mussels and it’s so fresh. Moreover, there are a wide variety of desserts. The service was very nice. However, It’s a bit overpriced, $99 not include the drink.Bookings online are essential as lines are long.
Pretty good quality buffet, clean and attentive service. We went on a Sunday for lunch and had unlimited oysters (had to queue for that of course). Good value for the price we paid.
I came here with my family for lunch and everyone from my group enjoyed the experience. So I am very surprised to have read some of the recent (negativereviews and how it wasn’t worth the price etc. For $60, we didn’t expect to find freshly shucked oysters, live lobster cooked with mafaldine, black truffle sliced in front of you, toro tuna sliced to order or wagyu beef carpaccios. Not sure if this is what people expect for $60 in this day and age? How much food can you get at an a la carte restaurant with $60 these days?Being a picky eater for freshness (and having been a chef and having worked in hotel buffet kitchens), I thought everything I had at Harvest Buffet was of good quality. The clams, mussels and prawns were tasty, the lamb roasts and chargrill sirloin were legit, the hot foods were cooked well, fish of the day was perfect, desserts were fresh and delicious, and we loved how coffee and tea were all included. We were well looked after by the staff who were very helpful too. Most important of all, we felt the restaurant was well managed with covid still not completely behind us. Harvest Buffet is definitely miles better than ‘Star Buffet’ (which has been a horror each time, to say the least, in my experience).
Entrance was superb I must say looked good for the amount offered for premium seafood buffet? Wasnt alot of dishes to choose from, which sort of ruined the evening with kids. Seafood buffet was average have been to other places an paid less for a higher selection. Food had tasted great just a lack of more dishes to choose from so wasnt impressed.
Seafood selection is great! The staff are also welcoming and attentive. Everything else was okay though. For $100, youre probably better off spending just a little bit more to go to Epicurean
Incredibly disappointing for our first visit. There’s lots of variety and the food was generally tasty but it is overpriced. $5 extra/pp for unlimited soft drink but the whole table needs to purchase to get this. The staff are rude, clearly annoyed with everyone dining. I noticed the ice cream machine was leaking from underneath as I walked passed, and was spreading fast all over the floor. I tried to let the staff know of the issue but they wouldn’t even look at me and pushed pass me. The place is very unfriendly. A huge contrast from the service we receive at other venues. Would not come back and would not recommend.
Its a good buffet, the price is a bit on the higher side. However, if youre new to Sydney, and want to enjoy some good seafood, and international cuisine, hit this place up. Im happy to see this reopen after the pandemic, but getting a reservation is another thing. Try to book, at least two weeks ahead, if for special occassions.
Fantastic!!! I had my fill with oysters, mussels, clams, calamari rings, Asian fried rice sprinkled with toasted garlic, French beef stew with a beautiful sauce and mushrooms, and some dimsum and dumplings. For dessert, I had my chocolate platter. Theres so much more cuisine for everyone, I opted for seafood and what I felt goes well with my meal. Given a chance, Ill be back!
Had Sunday lunch here and great selection of food including oysters, mussels, clams, and shrimp. Lots of hot foods and desserts as well. Make sure to sign up as member (it’s freeto get discounted prices.
Yes its back and we missed it.Excellent service from the start to the end always as we remember it. Deepak and the staff made our dinner experience amazing which will make us always remember the day.The food fresh, perfectly cooked and big variety of food and desserts. We love their food and the staff always amazing
Good selection of food. We dined here using the 2 for 1 promo and it was worth it. No oysters if dining there on lunch though. Long line at the entrance even if you have a booking, so better to come around 10 mins before your time slot
AVOID! They have cockroaches roaming around inside and the food quality is worse than your average food court. We took the premium seafood buffet on a Sunday for my brother’s birthday and in a nutshell the experience here ruined the day. This is not what you expect when you are paying $110/person. The whole place is dirty and insects can be seen on the dining area. The staff are also absolutely hopeless. After complaining to them, they didn’t offer a proper apology. The manager just gave some complimentary soft drinks which we didn’t drink. After seeing the cockroach , we were too grossed out to have anything else.Never again! Please don’t waste your money here.
Good food. Great selection of food. Good service too.
First time returning to Harvest Buffet since the reopening and its basically the same as it has always been but at a significantly higher price. Its now $109.90 for an adult on Saturdays and Sundays, and even more on public holidays. Soft drinks continue to not be included but theres coffee and tea available.I made myself an affogato using the vanilla soft serve, and an espresso from the machines. The food being offered is fairly tasty. Theres a good selection of seafood, like oysters, prawns, and crab. The hot food selection is nice but not that special. The dessert selection hasnt changed much.Overall, I think the food offered doesnt justify the price unless all you eat is the seafood. The food is tasty but thats not enough for the price, especially compared to competitors.I guess the advantage of the higher price is that fewer people are dining here, so the queue (Saturday eveningwas nearly non-existent.Still, probably wont be returning any time soon though.
Tonights dinner was very disappointing compared to my last visit in May. It is like under a completely new management. Firstly the atmosphere was quite dead with lack of staff servicing, slow in collecting plates. Secondly, the most important seafood feels neglected. Oysters are tiny, yellowish and not cold, in the past they were white, icy and taste fresh. Some crabs has powdery texture rather than firm. Prawns are worse which taste stale and salty, can tell from their mushy shell that they are not the best, I only ate two pieces. Basic hot food like spring rolls and fried items are overcooked. Going to the roast meat section and no one bother to look at you and slice any meat so you just self serve so part of lack of atmosphere.I did enjoy the fish dishes, beef sirlion and pizza hence the two stars.Overall experience feels downgraded and price has gone up which doesnt justify. Manager chasing for feedback there, now I got home and have time to write. Please improve. I visited many times and this is by far the worst, hope it can regain its glory. Business must be tough right now.
Everything is good here still - nice, fresh food, quite tasty, and good variety. Lots of sweets, chocolate fountains, ice-cream, cheese. Friendly staff. But I didnt appreciate that the first thing we were told when escorted to our table, was: you have 90 min from the time you took a seat. Everyone knows that, and yet they found it necessary to warn us, instead of welcoming the group to the restaurant. Also, we were told that not once, but a few times. Didnt feel right. Not coming back in a hurry, sorry.
Great food sooo delicious. Even the chief went out of his way to make me oyster kilapatrick. Yum. Prawns yummo. The seafood was so fresh everything was beautiful and the staff were friendly.
Visited Harvest Buffet for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the meal!Theres a great selection of classic hot breakfast items such as bacon, scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage and hash browns as well as a fine selection of breads, pastries and fruit. You can also some Asian breakfast dishes such as a hot bowl of congee. The chef on the egg station was awesome whipping me up a super fluffy and delicious ham, cheese and sauteed veg omelette. Will be back again!
No more crabs during lunch buffet? The oysters served was tiny too. The quality of food was average and some of them doesnt taste good, lastly, the food selection was few. Been here several times before the pandemic, and the food was great back then. What happen Harvest Buffet?
Gave this seafood buffet a go on the weekend since it’s been a while since we have done one. There is selection of food from around the globe such as Asian, Indian and Mediterranean cuisine the seafood section was only fresh seafood which was ok but would have liked to see some whole roasted fish or any kind of hot selection, I found the ambiance a little over whelming compared to the likes of the others I’ve been to in the past it’s very bright and chaotic inside felt like a Vegas buffet compared the others with softer lighting. Overall the buffet was ok just because of the bright lights and seating i probably won’t be back but for the price it’s fairly decent.
I went to the Harvest buffet as part of a staff dinner, but holy cow was I impressed. The food options were, obviously, vast and delicious. But as a Gluten-intolerant person I was worried my options would be limited. I was blown away at the amount of delicious Gluten Free options available, I may not have had any meats with Gluten, but I still enjoyed the duck and some other tasty meats with no worries.
Very good variety of food. Excellent dessert. Plenty of staff, service is quick. Very noisy and crowded, if having lunch surrounded by screaming running children doesnt bother, then the place is worth visiting.
Its one of Sydneys most well-known buffets. It has a good range of food from entrees to main dishes and desserts. The quality is good but somewhat overpriced.
Great! It is a children’s heaven. The chocolate fountain and icecream stations were a hit! I loved trying some new things with my family. The staff were friendly, efficient and made our morning a delight.
Based on the shambolic and aggressive group of people trying to be first in line. Then the chaos of getting seated I was expecting the food to be out of this world. It was okay at best. Mildly better than the local RSL club. If it wasnt for the seafood buffet I dont think youd hear about this place.
Seafood and dessert were good. Seafood was fresh, prawns and crab tasted great. oysters were and other shellfish were fresh. The other sections of food are okay, but the steak and roast lamb were a bit dry.Thought it would be a bit more classy atmosphere, but it felt more like a canteen seating. Plus 2 customers that were very rude which is why I give 4 stars. Staff did handle them professionally, but still ruins the atmosphere for others seeing that behaviour.1st, a lady took a handfuls of strawberries for her and each of her kids. Emptying the bowl (maybe 15+on her first visit. The at staff filled it frequently but her kids would go back and get another plate and empty the bowl again.2nd a man elbowed himself in front of me into into the queue for the bar.The bartender noticed but the rude man claimed he was there first, bartender was nice enough to serve me first and told the man he saw me first. Thank you bartender!!
$89/person.. eat all you can.. Indian cuisine, Italian cuisine, Seafood, and English food.. plus sweets and desserts
This review is based on the lunch buffet.Price: $49 plus $5 for drinks; if you are a member you get 10% off buffet price! Membership is free! (An FYI: if one person at the table orders drinks everyone else has to buy a drink.)Customer service - friendly and courteous. Now for the food… Let me start by saying, I have gone to this buffet numerous times since 2019 to present and it has definitely gotten better. I believe the people in charge must have listened to customer feedback and have included a bit of everything in their buffet. At first there was barely any chicken options and most items were fillers of 4 different types of potatoes and a ton of vegetables. However - I went last week Thursday and the buffet had definitely IMPROVED! It had items like roasted lamb, chicken and potatoes. Not to mention a delicious cheesy cauliflower dish and a ton of other goodies. I absolutely loved the beef bourguignon but unfortunately it wasn’t there on this occasion and it was replaced with a very tasty lamb dish.In all honesty - I am not much of a seafood person, so I relied heavily on the other dishes and this buffet does offer something for everyone. There is plenty of veggie dishes, curries, meats for those meat eaters and of course the dessert for those of us with a sweet tooth. I loved that they had pastries at lunch time and offered more fruit! I do wish they would offer small cakes instead of the large serve yourself cakes. All those small jelly cakes or whatever those small desserts are, just aren’t my or my families cup of tea. They’re all similar variations of the same thing. Some ideas could be mini cheesecakes, tiramisu, Black Forest, opera cake, carrot cake etc. These would definitely go a long mile, or even a decent chocolate cake that doesn’t have that jelly consistency on the top.Harvest buffet you’ve definitely lifted your game with the main food. Now focus on better desserts and you’ll definitely earn that fifth star!
If you are a seafood lover then this is the best place for you to binge eating. Lots of varieties, from prawn to oysters. However, theres no crab leg when we went there on lunch time (Sunday). Maybe, the crab leg is available if your pay more. Nonetheless, I am still a happy customer and I will definitely go back to this place.
Really good Buffet, may be a bit pricy but good for what you get. There is an hour and half time limit. It gets busy so if you can book ahead , book. There is usually a line. They are known for the prawns, but they have a good selection such as Asian, roasts, pizzas, cakes etc. Nice treat once in while.
Bookings online are essential as lines are long, both weekdays and weekends. Great assortment of foods. The food is fresh and full of flavour. They change it up a bit depending on when you choose to dine. Pictures below are from weekend lunch. The organisation might need a little improvement. I went there and was told to line up with those who didn’t have a reservation. I questioned it, but was told that once I went inside, it would be sorted out then. Half an hour later, I spoke with others who lined up in a seperate line and I was informed that there was a seperate line for bookings / reservations. I think having someone on the outside to greet / inform the customers of the procedure of how to go about things would be greatly appreciated.P.S. Would also make things a lot quicker if payment could be made prior to the booking so that customers did not need to waste time paying at the counter.
Great atmosphere! Delicious food! And soo many choices! Be sure to make a booking they get extremely busy.
Was very excited about the dinner buffet but was slighly let down. The price of 90$ per head is quite stee but the quality of the food is only average, the location really bumped up the price.I really liked the prawns and the oyster, the service at the seafood bar was quick. The chinese barbecue was good too.Rest was not memorable or fell a bit flat.Dessert was ok too.
In all honesty, I thought this would be a good buffet considering it is in the “star”. First of all, it is incredibly stingy that you have to pay $5 for unlimited soft drinks on top of the 89$ if you want drinks. Why is this not included in the buffet? It makes no sense. For the price you pay, there is also not that much of a variety. There are some Asian Dishes, Indian, Italian, and seafood. I do not eat seafood but my friend who loves eating it, said they did not enjoy the seafood either. The highlight of the buffet was definitely the dessert and truffle mash potato. The truffle mash was absolutely delicious. The dumplings were also really bad. You can buy any frozen dumpling pack and it will taste better than that. It was super mushy and did not taste good.
Good quality dishes and services. Great variety to choose from.
The food is average compared to the price paid. Nothing was bad however nothing really stood out - except for the oysters which of course would since they are expensive. We still came out very full but I think our expectations were too high coming in.
Lots variety of international food and nice interior and serve all kind of main dish to light to desserts and so with all kinds of hot to cold drinks as well highly recommended ;)
My last visit was ages ago so its a bit surprising. The layout and decor much better than I remember and so is the food. Good variety.
Walked in off the street last Wednesday 19th Jan, and enjoyed an hour of feasting fit for Kings and Queens 😀 I literally had 2 plates full of a variety of food (steak, spring rolls, fish, chips, prawns, pork buns, potatoes, chicken nuggets, drumsticks to list items off the top of my headand 1 plate and bowl of dessert (cheesecake, sorbet and fresh fruit). Probably the best value for money in town particularly in terms of location, quality and menu! Recommend to book in advance because its usually packed, we were lucky to walk in on an unassuming day (everyone was probably self-isolating due to covid spreading). Enjoy if you go, youll love the food. Staff were okay. Theres also street parking or venue parking available.Edit: I went back for the dinner buffet on 28th Jan and I noticed crab, scallops and oysters and salmon were on offer and I didnt hold back. This time I had 3 plates plus a bowl of dessert! Again, amazing value and succulent flavours!
The breakfast buffet is of a great variety with amazing Chinese style BBQ pork, fresh and juicy Byron bay bacon and perfect omelette. The pastries were of beautiful texture and taste ….light and fluffy inside and crispy outside. Fresh whipped cream and maple syrup with mini pancakes and crepes are a must ! There are even freshly grilled steak for breakfast !It can get really busy with lots of families and children during school holidays. The service is efficient and friendly.
We have always had a good experience here. The staff are wonderful and attentive, despite clearly being very busy. There are usually lines to enter, however you will have 1.5hrs from the time you are actually at the table, not from the booking time. On the weekends they open a cozy quiet area next to the seafood stall, but during the week couples be ready to share space in the louder area with families and kids 😊 my only negative observation is the quality of oysters varies from visit to visit. They do their best though to give plenty of seafood choice, and it keeps coming, same as other foods. We think it’s a good value for money and overall a lovely experience. We would recommend to a friend!
Went there for Christmas eve dinner, services was good, foods is hit and miss. Not all the seafood are fresh, couple of oysters from my plate was bad, sushi didnt taste right neither, first time I had a SOUR vanilla icecream. Other than that, all other foods tasted normal. Nothing really great from Harvest buffet just a so-so experience.
A bit overrated. If you come on the weekend or during the holidays, expect kids running around everywhere. Honestly didnt expect this many kids at a casino... They started letting riff-raff in and theres not much of a dress code here anymore. The food is serviceable but if youre paying the $50 full price, theres no way youre gonna eat enough food to cover it. I would avoid this and spend a bit more and go to a nicer restaurant at The Star. Your mileage may vary. Come at your own discretion.
Absolutely love our experience. Love the made to order omelette. The staff were really friendly. I love that they have a big selection and all are very flavoursome. Danish, crepes, crossaint and pancakes are delicious.
We had a very enjoyable experience at Harvest Buffet. The decoration is spot on, the staff are professional and accommodating and thumbs up for the cleanliness. In addition to fresh seafood, there are international cuisines such as Chinese (roast duck, char siu), Thai (DIY noodles bowl), Indian, Mediterranean, desserts (my fave is cheesecake it is perfect), and beverages. I just wish there is a lemon water bowl to wash my hands after eating seafood, just like the other seafood buffet places. There is an option to top up $5 per person for unlimited soft drinks, which I don’t recommend. Just order a jug of drinks later and share it with the group. Also, if you have a membership with The Star, you get 50% off for everything, including beverages on the menu.
Had a lunch buffet here with kids, variety of choices. Seafood bar isnt too bad. Lots of clans, oysters, prawns, seafood salad. Deserts has many choices too. Kids love chocolate fountain and recommend fried rice. The price for lunch is reasonable and kids under 5 is free of charge.
It was a sumptuous dinner! Everything is fresh and well-cooked! A different ranges of food are available. Staffs are accommodating and willing to assist. If you want some discount, you better be a star member. The mango sorbet is a must try dessert!
Excellent environment and good service, however the people at the check in can improve on their manners. The Harvest buffet has just recently reopened its doors to the self service buffet after Covid. The ambience is modern and welcoming. The star of the show is the Seafood selection on weekends. The lunch buffet includes oyster, prawns clams, scallops and mussels.Other usual selection includes carvery, pasta, pizza soup, salad, sushi, Indian, nachos and Asian dishes. To end the meal, you cant go past the decadent dessert on offer which includes a chocolate fountain and many other cakes. Highly recommend.
