One of my favorite places to eat in Minneapolis. It’s not the fanciest and I’m pretty sure sometimes Harry does the serving as well as the cooking. His food is amazing! Definitely try it out if you love curry based foods and spice.

Discovered this place a few months before I moved out of Minneapolis and I was hooked. I still crave it all the time. The spiciness, flavor, and roti are just perfection. Harry is also super nice. I had my friends ship me his hot sauce; we call it liquid gold. I’ve moved to 2 subsequent cities since and I never lose track of it.

Tries charging me more than the posted price at the state fair. Then followed me outside and berated me for calling him out on it, in front of my family, the entire time blowing cigarette smoke in my kids face. Seriously, are you trying to hussle a dollar at a time with over charges, or is it a staff member taking advantage?

I found this place by accident-- I got turned around looking for a different restaurant, but didnt have too much time left on my lunch break to go exploring, plus I had never tried Caribbean cuisine before, so I took a chance. Its a bit small and has hole-in-the-wall kind of vibes, but the owner was super friendly. And his recommendation of the jerked chicken was spot on! The container he gave me was basically overflowing with spicy, tender, juicy goodness. It lasted me two meals, there was so much. Im a glutton for punishment, so next time I go Ill probably ask for the hot hot spice level, but whatever level of heat he made it at this time was still enough to make my nose run.

I cant say enough good tings about Harry and his restaurant. First hes a super nice, genuine guy. Food is amazing, just be advised if you say you want something spicy, Harry doesnt play, it will be spicy. I dont mean MN spicy, I mean Port of Spain spicy

Best Roti Ive ever had. The food is elaborately spicy with thousands of layers of flavor buried underneath it. The house hot sauce for an added kick is well worth the pain.

Harry does not mess around. Get ready for some of the spiciest food you can find. He makes his own hot sauce as well and I suggest picking up a bottle.

Ordered the lamb curry dish for take out. I was told it takes an hour to prepare, which was fine by me since I had quite ways to drive there. After I picked up my order and got home, found out he gave me goat, not lamb. Jamaican patties were not home made. He took them out of package and microwaved them while I was waiting. By the way, I paid $122 for just 4 items. Feel ripped off and the food quality was very subpar. I don’t know why he’s got all the decent reviews. I honestly think anyone leaving this guy any good review must be smoking something!

Ive been a customer of Harrys since 1986 when he was on Central Avenue and have never been disappointed. I almost always order the Curry Potato and Chickpea Roti Dahlpourie. It is so good that I havent ventured too far from that one, especially when paired with the Dhal Split peas and Red Beans. The Dhal mitigates the heat from the most excellent hot sauce that Harry makes from Scorpion chiles imported fresh from Trinidad. For those who complain about the wait, rest assured that it is well worth it. Harry operates on Island Time, so settle in and enjoy.

Likely the spiciest restaurant in the Twin Cities. Food was delicious but beware of the spice! Theres no indication of spice level on the menu but trust me that its about as hot as you can find. The owner, Harry, is super friendly which made the experience even better.

Delicious food and awesome customer service. Surprised my dad for Father’s Day with Harry Sing’s food. My dad grew up eating food from Trinidad and he enjoyed his curry chicken roti! We also had the curry shrimp roti and chickpea potato curry on red beans and rice with the roti on the side. We also tried the jerk chicken roti, very good! But it does have a kick to it :)

The beef patties are frozen patties that are microwaved, they by themselves I would give 3 stars to. But besides that I got jerk chicken roti and curry chicken roti. The jerk chicken in the north Ive been noticing is different from jerk chicken of the south its not as sweet making it a bit more tangy which is kinda sad but thats not Harry Singhs problem its just a difference overall from all other places in the north that ive tried. Now the curry chicken / the roti itself was everything I was looking for and more 6 out of 5 stars which made up for the beef patties. Amazing flavor from both curry and roti will definitely be returning for them. Nom nom nom🤤

If you are sad about Marlas closing this is the place to go. Harry Singhs food is amazing, we asked for "extra hot" and it was HOT, enough to make me sweat and I had to eat slowly, so be careful, he doesnt mess around with the Scotch Bonnet peppers!! We had the Jerk Chicken on Roti and the Pelau, both were super duper good. You can tell that this restaurant uses fresh ingredients, lots of fresh herbs and spices, and they serve large portions. The dishes are not as cheap (usually more than $10but they are worth it both for the amazing flavor and the larger portion, you can probably have left-overs.EDIT: in the past I talked about harrys credit card reader being down, but its fixed now.

Had a great experience and great customer service owner is very kind and funny. In mn its hard to find spicy food but this place serves it up by the boat load. You can get a massive serving, just verify the price as there are two different menus online if your not ordering directly from the store.

I loved the food. Real Trini cook making great food! If you don’t ask for spice, you will get a bland dish. I enjoyed the wings, beef patties plantains and curry goat. Next time, I plan on eating the doubles and rotti.Ask him how long he’s been in business. He’s been doing it a while.

First time. We got jerk chicken, rice, beans, carribean wings. This place was fire. Flavorful and super spicy just like we like it. Lots of heat so beware if youre a spicy eater. But we loved it. The gentleman was super nice and our order was done with little wait. Will definitely be coming back. Price was very reasonable. $40 for everything.

They take their spice level seriously here. Ive gone to Asian restaurants and ordered food 5/5 on spice level and Ive ordered food "spicy" from Indian restaurants before. But here, just a "medium" level veg roti was already close to enough for me. Im starting to think those other places were going easy on me because Im white, lol.

Delicious! Always stop at Harrys booth at the State Fair, finally got to visit the actual restaurant. We had a party of 5 who all got different dishes, I sampled all of them and would order each. The chicken fried rice was the hit of the table though. Also if you ask for it hot (spicy), it actually has heat!

This is a great place. The vegetarian roti with chickpea and potato pairs wonderfully with the jerk chicken (get it with rice and veggies). I love how Harry can crank up the heat!! The food was flavorful and not just spicy. Ive been multiple times and leave with exactly what I wanted -- A tasty meal and a warm belly. One of my top favorites In the twin cities.

Harry Singhs has high quality food for a very reasonable price. Although I left sweating afterwards (in wintersince the jerk was so spicy, it was an incredible mix of flavors. I cant wait to go back here again and eat food that exists beyond the level of "Minnesota spicy".

Just visited this place for the first time. Tried the curry chicken and it was delicious. The portion size was very generous, especially compared to other Caribbean restaurants in the area. Harry was very friendly. I ordered a beef patty and he forgot it, but thats okay. I had plenty of food to fill me up. This is by no means a fancy place but food is good.

Not only is the food here delicious, perfectly spiced and spicy comfort food, but they also have lots of vegan options and the service is great. We were served by Rob, Harry’s son, who was really nice and helped us figure out what to get. Can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s a great staple of the Twin Cities.

Harry is a trip! Id love to give him 5 stars, but the issue is that one cannot plan to eat here because he just might be closed with no warning. He is an interesting man...he will be your host, your waiter, your cook, your cashier...he is also very neat to chat with. The food is delicious. Kind of expensive, but you will get a monstrous portion. Consider sharing a meal with someone. The jerk is incredibly spicy. Consider yourself warned.I wanted to bring my son here for his birthday after talking it up, but when we arrived, the doors were locked. There wasnt a sign on the door or anything to alert us to why he was closed or when he was expected back. We left and returned 30 minutes later, but he was still closed. We had to go with plan B that day.

I had the curry chicken which was good but not special. Maybe I should have gotten something more exciting because I added some of Harry’s sauce to the rice and it had a strong kick. The time from ordering to presentation was 25 minutes (3 tables / 9 peopleso I recommend you go with someone you enjoy being with or make sure you don’t forget your phone. When I visited, there were three tables so I’d say try to go when it isn’t busy. I’ll try it again with a more adventurous choice.

While the quaint decor and serious spice give this a point or two, the overall experience at Harry Singhs was very underwhelming. Harry himself was there, and appeared to be the only server and cook. He didnt say a word to us, just grunted in the direction of a table, and then pulled out a notepad when he wanted us to order. The food was also subpar. While very spicy, there was little flavor, and both my chicken and my wifes pork was dry and tough. Would not recommend.

Harry Singhs is the spiciest, most comforting, most flavorful restaurant in the twin cities. The curry potato and chickpea roti is nourishing, soothing comfort food and milder than much of the menu. Which is handy, because you need something to alternate when eating anything marinated in his incredibly intense jerk sauce. While a lot of menu is meaty, there is at least one vegetarian option in every category, and they all stand up to their carnivorous counterparts. The only caveat is that Harry cooks and serves at a truly Caribbean pace, so give yourself ample time to relax while waiting for your food.

Harry Singhs is amazing Caribbean food. I especially recommend the Curry Chicken Roti. You need to be prepared for a couple things going in though. First, hot means hot. Not Minnesota hot, more like Thai hot on steroids. Youve been warned.Second, this is not a quick meal. Most likely, Harry will take your order, then Harry will go cook your food, then Harry will bring it to you. It takes a while. If youve got time and want a unique meal, this is a great stop.

I want to like this place. Its the only place I can stop in for my cultural foods. But they were only open from 12-3 yesterday and I was told the food wouldnt be ready for another hour when they finally opened at 12:30. Also their hours are different than online.

Excellent food. Asked Harry for recommendations for not spicy options and he was very helpful! We were picking up food for my grandma and grandpa as well who prefer more bland options and they were even pleased by the food here! Jamaican patties as good as in Jamaica! We got our food to go and it took less than ten minutes.

Harry Singhs is the BEST! If you love Caribbean food, this place is a must. I havent found any restaurant in the Twin Cities with Caribbean food as authuntic as this! Lots of spice and so much flavor! The Curry Chicken is delicious with a medium spice level. If you like very spicy food, the Jerk Roti is amazing! All the food tastes home-cooked and prepared with love, and Harry Singh is always there to make sure you enjoy everything. Thankful this gem exists in the Twin Cities!

This place was a little strange to me overall. I havent eaten here before so I decided to try it out one day. My first impression was dated, stale and highly expensive. The inside of the place was looked very 70s and the service was extremely slow. I was the only one in the place when I had ordered. It took 15 minutes to take my order but he was very apologetic about the wait time. So, as I sat down waiting for my food I head a lot of microwaves going and I did necessarily feel good about that seeing as how they post everywhere on their restaurant walls advocating for fresh food. When I got the food, it looked like warmed leftovers of stewed chicken and tastes like it as well. I was so skeptical on the chicken, the sauce was unappetizing and I am not sure why there was a bunch of raw cabbage slaw in my meal. It was all just a bad experience. I couldnt eat the rest of the food as I had to throw it out. The only thing that was somewhat redeemable was the hot sauce.

What an awesome spot! Harry was great, food was awesome, atmosphere was authentic. We are a Caribbean family and finding this place was like we were a little closer to home. Dont plan on getting in and getting out, it takes time to be served and time for the food to cook and get to your table; however, its well worth the wait. Add a Jamaican Ting to wash it down and WALL-LA the night was perfect!

Excellent little hole in the wall restaurant. Really laid back atmosphere. Hours do vary based on Harry s personal schedule, but Its a family run business, get over it. Last time I ate there he closed an hour early to go buy a goat.If you love spices, jerked meats, and homemade curries you will love this place.Side note - the hot sauce is incredibly hot, but very much worth trying. Just take it easy and dont ask for the HOT hot unless you have a death wish.
