1920 N Forest Ave, Orlando, FL 32803, United States, Orlando
This 50-acre botanic garden & estate on Lake Rowena includes roses, camellias & a butterfly garden.
Beautiful gardens displaying several unique and exotic plants. In some areas the vegetation is so lush one can easily imagine small dinosaurs might be hiding in their dense tropics. I love sampling the scents of the various roses in their rose garden. Another favorite spot is the herb and vegetable garden. There are a variety of paved routes and plenty of benches along the way. Anyone who enjoys gardens or nature will enjoy. I do miss the lake overlook and hope that it reopens soon.
Pleasant and serene escape from the hustle and bustle of Orlando. We enjoyed a nice leisurely afternoon strolling through the beautiful gardens. The recent hurricane had done some damage, but there were crews busily working on cleanup and repairs. We have annual passes, so well be back to enjoy the different seasonal displays.
A beautiful hidden gem in Orlando. This is a lush green botanical garden with one of the most stunning collections of floras. Rainforest garden, rose garden, butterfly garden, bamboo, banana and so much more to explore here. There is also an Arid garden with stunning display of drought tolerant plants like acacias, cacti, succulents, agaves, bromeliads etc.My personal favorite was the rainforest collection, bamboo collection with its tall timber bamboos and the Camellia collection. You can spend hours and hours at this park, and you will still feel like coming back the next day again. An absolute must do in Orlando!
Loved it even though it poured like cats n dogs but enjoyed the fairy doors and the beautiful plants
Clean. Peaceful. Beautiful. Well manicured. I took my daughter to see the Fairy Doors. We had fun finding the doors, it took the experience to another level for her.
Lovely gardens, quiet, peaceful and well kept. If you expect rain, bring an umbrella, its very nice to walk around if its not storming as it brings out the wonderful smells of the plants and flowers. This place takes probably at least 3 or 4 hours to walk it all and its worth it.Would love if the dock was open.
Beautiful, well kept, and interesting gardens. Loved the fairy doors and bird houses. I will visit often.
A must-visit gem of Orlando. The variety of plants and flowers here are amazing to see. There are plenty of paved areas through the gardens that make for an ideal walk and escape from the city. The entrance price is well worth such a peaceful experience as exploring these gardens.
Beautiful! First time here. Very organized , I loved they have names for all the plants. Lots of flowers, birds, butterflies and bees. Shaded areas to sit down and enjoy. Don’t forget to look up :)
Very hot , muggy and way to big no air conditioning, to many golf carts in the way . Very boring, no restaurant. They took the big clock away and still advertising it. Children screaming and making a non peaceful place. Paint chipping on stairs . I definitely dont ever wanna come back its a waste of time and if you dont get free admission money . This is nothing like advertised . My favorite part of this place was exiting.
Love my local botanical garden. Come any time for a nice stroll or for any of their frequent special events. My favorite areas are across the bridge in the shade gardens as well as the palm gardens & around the lake area.
Living in Orlando for 20 years its our first time visiting the botanical garden. Theres a lot to see and the garden is very well maintained. Bring sunscreen water and the insect repellent. What an amazing find.
These gardens are lovely although the roses always seem disappointing and challenged. Not sure Orlando is the ideal climate for roses. But the regional and tropical gardens are stunning with the bamboo especially enjoyable. The butterfly garden shouldnt be missed. Its beautifully designed and picture worthy. One note, the main house is closed for renovations, so the interesting (and air conditioned!exhibitions as well as the very nice gift shop are on hold these days.
We went there yesterday on their free admission day and it was so beautiful. The gardens are huge so bring some water and stay hydrated. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.
I came in late May, paid $15. There was some flowers but not many.I found an owl. It was a bonus.
We had an amazing time doing the dragon quest here. Really beautiful day out. Cost per person is a bit high for our family of 4 it was $50 entry fee. If we were not doing the quest or planning an event we would probably go to a state park where we could experience the outdoors for under $10.00 realistically. But I got married here in 2009 it was great location for a wedding event and its still really beautiful if you dont mind the trek. Follow a map its easy to be side tracked here and with 3 miles of walk ways veggie and butterfly gardens bathrooms and benches through out. You can easily spend a day enjoying this garden. Also watch out for special events like Jazz concerts, movie nights and dragon quest.
These gardens are quite pretty. I wish wed had more time to fully enjoy them. Unfortunately, it was difficult finding our way with a map and the signs. Wed come upon a sign that pointed somewhere we wanted to go, but when we reached the next fork, whatever we were looking for wasnt on the sign, so we were left wondering which direction to go. We wanted to see the floral clock but never could find it, and we were on a bit of a time limit, so we didnt get to see everything we wanted to.
This was my first time visiting Leu Gardens and I have to say the gardens surpassed my expectations. The photos I viewed online prior to visiting do not capture the beauty of the gardens (in my opinion). There are 50 acres to walk through. Paths wind around throughout the grounds and the garden well taken care of. There are a wide variety of plants and a bum er of stunning views. We had to wait in a line to purchase tickets and the ticket/gift shop area was busy. But once we got out into the garden, it didnt feel like there were a lot of people. We only had about 2 hours to spend here (and thought that should have been enough timebut quickly realized we needed more time to see and appreciate everything. We will definitely visit again.
This garden is so enjoyable for adults and kids! I’ve been here twice and both times they had something for the kids to look for throughout the garden. The grounds are beautiful and every plant I saw was identified.Highly recommend.
Very enjoyable, beautiful plantings. My husband and I went while the dragons were up. Would recommend for families or people who enjoy plants.
What a special oasis in heart of Orlando. Peaceful, well take care of, exhibiting countless exotic, tropical plants that are mesmerizing. The ticket is only $15 and annual pass $75 which can be used across United States gardens. The photos speak louder than words. If you in Orlando must visit to enjoy tranquility.
This is one of the gems of Orlando, that not everyone knows about surprisingly. 50 acres of botanical gardens with many different areas and types of plants and flowers to admire. Years ago we were lucky enough to be married in the rose garden, and it was absolutely stunning. They have sections for so many other things as well as many events. This time of year they have their annual plant and flower sale, which is a sight to behold. So many vendors come in and sell high-quality often uncommon plants. In the vegetable garden, they had specific offerings of vegetables and herbs that you take home and grow. There are numerous trails throughout the garden, some secluded some open. We’ve enjoyed coming here many times and just sitting and admiring all that is present. Definitely check it out, and take a look for the many special events, like movie night which is always a good time.
Amazing place!!! One of the best place for nature lover in the City of Orlando. I loved this place because of it’s beautiful Green, lush vegetation. Have seen some flowers but this might not be the seasons for flower. Trees are nicely grown, and there are many locations that are well maintained. I will come back. So many varieties of trees, flowers and scenic spot for observing nature closely.
A beautiful set of gardens in OrlandoThe entrance is located at the intersection of Corrine Dr and N Forest Ave. The park takes up 50 acres on the south side of Lake Rowena. There are two parking lots. One is near to the main building and one is just to the south. Together they can hold about 150 vehicles. The entry is through the main building and costs about $15/person. The gardens are used for events. The day that we visited, there was a wedding event set up outside the house on the south of the grounds and the reception was set for the main building. It seemed a perfect place for it. The gardens are self-guided and have lots of paths to follow. Recently, they have made a “dragon” challenge treasure hunt that is a lot of fun. People have to find clues and decrypt the message that leads you to the treasure. The gardens have large dragons and night-time lighting for these very large creatures. The gardens are beautiful and have many paths and descriptions of the many plants around the grounds. Overall, this is a wonderful set of gardens that is very pleasant to walk through.
They have beautiful gardens. Full of lovely colors! Pathways are very clean always and it is always peaceful there. Going on walks with family is special there. The last time we went we did a dragons & fairies scavenger hunt. Kids love it and the dragons are large sized and impressive!!! The fairy houses were on trees. Leu Gardens put up these fun events from time to time. Last time we got to see part of a wedding in progress and got lucky to run into the beautiful bride in white by herself and we got to tell her how beautiful she looked! Very kind staff too. We were not turned away when we forgot our membership cards with Bok Towers once as they are affiliates. Nice lady up front still let us in. We go there so often. We always love it there!
We love going to the different events that they have at this garden. Always a beautiful and great time! These pictures were from the Dragons and Fairy show.
We went for their night dragon and fairy event. It was a great experience and my kids had fun. The actors did a great job diving into the experience and keeping the crowd moving and active. You travel from little vignettes for each scene. The garden was set up with different lights and speakers that was very well done.
I’ve come here a few times for walks and photography but the very last time I went was for my wedding! My wife and I decided to have a small intimate wedding and focus our budget on our honeymoon (the very best decision we could have made). We couldn’t have been happier. The location was beautiful and made for some wonderful images.
During the pandemic, we have visited numerous botanical gardens, and Leu Gardens is a treasured find here in central Florida. We visited in the autumn, so not much was blooming, but it is a great place to go for a stroll. The gardens are very well maintained, and big enough to get lost in, if you want to. (They have little lettered signs to show you where you are on the map.Pro tip: grab a family annual pass and get free admission to Leu and dozens of other botanical gardens for a year.
If you’re in Orlando why not and stop to check out these beautiful garden, you will be amazed with all of the great flowers that you will find here.
Wonderful place to stroll around in the cooler winter months. Note that the humidity is consistently higher than most of Orlando, so the temperature is going to seem hotter than what the area forecast claims. As of this writing, the house tours only allow up to 8 people at a time, and the gift shop is closed due to leak issues.
Absolutely gorgeous 😍The gardens are extremely beautiful, this is an amazing place that provides a gorgeous walking path through peaceful nature, along with benches and spots to sit and enjoy the relaxing views.
This place is beautiful and peaceful. I will be back and hopefully soon. I didnt get to explore the whole place so, need to back and see even more. It was nice to be outside and in nature, the birds singing just added to the magic of this place.
Great timeThank you Adventhealth and Leu foundation for hosting a great timeThe lights were amazing and price was reasonable for the amount of safety and work that was doneWould prefer if mask was mandate because of water droplets that could spread and would give 5 stars if that was the case. I think safety should be implemented for the kids . And if all the adults wear mask the kids maybe do not.Overall great time and would recommend to anyone
Lou Gardens is great but DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON DAZZLING NIGHTS! Compared to past set ups, this year is a scam. Which is interesting because it would appear that AdventHealth, the multi billion dollar healthcare system overrunning this city, was the sponsor. I’m curious where the budget went when at the height of covid last year, there was twice the staff, twice the lighting elements, and much less corporate branding every where you looked. There is a ton of dead space leaving a plethora of uneven ground and tripping hazards for patrons to navigate in the dark. While yes, it is an evening event of which they have made sure to pad with language across the website when purchasing tickets, we had no previous issues navigating the path because lighting was in abundance. The walk felt more like my neighbors backyard holiday set up than something worth $50.I’m curious as to why there was no staff either. Given last year was ripe with staff at the height of covid not only along the path to ensure safety and provide support but monitoring the photo ops as well. This year, we saw hardly any staff and we couldn’t enjoy any of the photo booths due to people having a field day of photo shoots at them and no staff to keep the lines moving.Yes. There are going to be people who visit and find this entertaining. Perhaps they have nothing to compare it to or perhaps they set the bar low for what their money is worth. There will also be people who have been in previous years who know what this event is capable of and who will experience this very disappointment. The lack of creativity and budget is very apparent. If you do go, bring a flashlight or make sure your phone is charged. You will encounter severe tripping hazards without it.Need a holiday activity for the family? Check out the Central Florida Zoo & their Chinese Lantern festival. Less money. More lights and art. Better experience.
Very big place and long walk, super relaxing, theres not many lights, but the ones they have a really pretty and nicely placed, lots of pictures must be taken
Beautiful place. Allow a couple hours to see everything. We went back for the Christmas lights. It was decent, but not like Newfields in Indianapolis, Indiana. The fake snow was our niece’s favorite part of the event.
The Dazzling Nights experience is absolutely incredible! I have been to countless of light events in many main cities and this is one of the best I have been to. Worth the $24 price. Takes an hour to do!
Beautiful and peaceful garden with hundreds of native Florida flora. Demonstration gardens of 800 Sq. Ft. Each to help homeowners picture what their own property could look like. Handicapped demo gardens with wheelchair access. Veggie garden with Florida in season fruits and vegetables. A great day out with ample volunteers and staff to assist and answer questions. Shade provided by dozens of huge live oaks!
Wow! What a variety of interesting plants! Definitely recommend bringing bug repellant of some sort and comfortable shoes are a MUST if youre planning on seeing all the gardens. We went in October and the roses were in bloom and it was very pretty. My favorite part was the succulent and cactus area, but there are definitely a lot of different plants for everybody! We went somewhat early in the morning and saw some little raccoons playing too, which was very cute and brightened my day :)
Wow! Impressive gardens. Beautiful plants and flowers even in hot September. We only saw about 10% of the gardens before the skies opened. Got to love Florida weather. We need to return every season.
Such a cute place to visit. I’m a little late writing my review but I was there while they had the fairy doors and they were the cutest! Great place to go and social distance. 👣
Admission to Harry P. Leu Gardens is free to the public. Parking is limited so you need to arrive early in the day or you may have trouble finding a parking spot. This will also allow more time to enjoy the gardens as there is limited shade and seating in some areas and the gardens can fill up quickly with tourists and other visitors. There are vendors who sell hotdogs, soda, popsicles and water. Several families brought blankets, snacks and small coolers and set up pinics under the trees. Several trails lead you to the grounds where you will see a wide variety of plants and trees native to Florida and from other parts of the world.
Please go and visit this amazing place. I didnt want to leave it was so nice, best believe I will be back again.... for more splendor amongst the beautiful flowers and grass. Great job to everyone that takes care of these gardens and the front desk.... much appreciated. Such beauty.
Absolutely amazing gardens such a great variety and plenty of shaded areas to be comfortable in the middle of the day in August. We came for the fairy gardens which was fun and exciting for my daughter
Gardens are a great place to relax and unwind. Put your phone down and follow the map around the complex. Youll find a host of unique and interesting plants and if you stop to read youll learn some cool facts. As a tea fan I really enjoyed the camellia forest.
Harry P Luke is Orlandos nature park located near Orlando downtown. The park was established by Harry Like in early 1900s. It has over 200 exotic plants and trees with everything from fruit and vegetables garden , arid garden, tropical garden, rose garden, palm gardens etc. The lush landscape can be explored by concrete walkways with well placed benches under trees. There are well placed water stations and restrooms. The original home is converted into museum but recommended to call if its open prior to visit. Visitors can bring water bottles and snacks, but picnic is strictly not allowed. There is approx q20 thousand SF main visitor area available to rent for events. There is a small library and gift shop in main lobby area. There is $10 entry fee for adults and & $5 for kids. Bicycles, skates, roller board a not allowed. Kids stroller are allowed. There is vending machine for soda and snacks in main lobby area. Please enjoy your visit and keep it clean. Mosquito repellent strongly recommended.
Amazing and beautiful place! If you love nature, it is a must to see! More plants and flowers than I could have imagined and the way everything is integrated through winding paths and tall shaded live oaks makes it the perfect place to relax on vacation! It has that natural magic that Disney cant give you. Even the paved walking paths are covered in moss that gives extra charm! Not to mention, the fairy door exhibit was great for my little ones. They provide a map with a story for each fairy that lives in each of the fairy doors ("will not open for humans"). If you have little ones who love stories/booke, its the perfect opportunity to grow their imagination!!!We did see some wildlife: a black snake, grasshopper, plenty of lizards, birds, turtles, an owl, lots of beautiful butterflies, and.... mosquitos.... So, keep an eye out and wear bug repellant. The shade does keep the temperature down and we had a nice breeze blowing throughout, but I do recommend bringing a water bottle if its a hot day (July.... Lol). They have a water bottle filling station by the restrooms.
A beautiful hidden gem in Orlando, and easily worth the $10 admission. The plants, butterflies and birds are absolutely beautiful. Nice and shaded so even if it is a little warm it is not too bad. Highly recommend bringing bug spray, water and comfortable shoes.
Its the first Monday and then you can tour the gardens for free. Very nice walk around the gardens and plenty of benches to sit on. Hot summer days you will need to rest if your not used to the weather. The museum was not open. There was a popsicle stand with a lot of unusual flavors. Great gift shop and clean restrooms.
