Sizable restaurant & sports bar offering seafood dishes, a raw bar, ocean views & outdoor seating.
Top notch seafood, fresh from the ocean, good beer and great food. Staff is always on point. Only complaint is finding seating at the bar, and in the shade.Horseradish is amazing HOT!! I can never get enough. Do yourself a favor and go get a dozen on the halfshell.
After a mishap with the texting to be seated (an hour wait), we sat outside. Had the crab nachos- amazing!, shrimp tacos- delicious, and shrimp pasta in white sauce- perfect! The island breeze bucket was adorable and delicious. Mike, our server did awesome.
The service here is great but the food was ok. I ordered seafood platter, which is more like a French fried platter. The drink was ok. I was looking forward to try the seafood and was disappointed at the overall seafood flavor and quality.
Food was fantastic. The waitstaff were great. I would definitely recommend this place.
Came here for a late lunch during the week. Service was good, I didnt go crazy for food and simply got the fried oysters and a Pepsi. Food was tasty, I actually enjoyed the tartar sauce more than the cocktail sauce, and overall my experience was more or less what I expected. The fresh oysters other folks were ordering looked really good. Perhaps if its still around next time Im in the area Ill give another go!
Packed but had a great time Definitely would recommend making reservations ahead of time covid has affected the amount of workers available very short staff but but awesome job trying to keep up
Absolutely great food. Best meal we had in AC in a long time. Great atmosphere (we dined outside). My wife and daughters went back and they raved about it too. I cant wait to return. The seafood bake I believe they call it is awesome. All the portions were huge. Crab tacos!Did you sea that bucket sized drink? Now I do understand that they dont want to overserve with these big drinks, but the only complaint I would have was they were a bit weak. Maybe it was just the bartender we had.Its been a few months since I was there that I am writing this review, and just looking at the pictures I wish I could go today! I am several hours away in New York so its not exactly convenient for me to visit regularly. That being said, I will go every time I visit Atlantic City! I wasnt a big fan of Ballys Casino. I really dont even like walking through to get to Harrys! But it is well worth it.An absolute must when in Atlantic City.
Very nice restaurant. Nice place. We had the fried shrimp, sliders, and crab cake. The food was very fresh and excellently prepared. The service was excellent. There could be more lump meat crab in the crab cake.
My first visit to the legendary Harrys Oyster Bar was not a good one. The interior is so dark we needed our phone flashlights on just to see the menu. The service was horrendous. Not sure if it was our waitress or the food runners or the bartenders but something was completely off.The restaurant was not crowded in our section. Our waitress had literally 5 tables, including ours, the entire time we were seated. She was not in the weeds or overwhelmed with tables. First we waited over half an hour just to get our drink order taken. My guest ordered a chardonnay and that alone took our waitress another 25 minutes to bring it to our table. Our waitress blamed it on the bartender who she said just kept ignoring her. (We think it was because she forgot to put in the order. When we received the wine, we ordered 2 appetizers. When we finally got the starters we had no napkins or silverware. We asked the food runner if he could bring us some. He said he was "on it"! He never returned.Ten minutes later we still didnt have any place settings. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. We asked another runner for some utensils and napkins and finally got some. The jumbo shrimp at $3 a piece were slimy and far from being jumbo. The calamari was now cold and tasteless The sauce was just a pizza sauce, also with no flavor and cold. Things were not looking good. When our waitress finally came over to the table we were almost finished the appetizers. We told her about the utensils and napkin issue and she blamed it on the runners. (Funny because I personally witnessed her giving them to customers when she first approached their tables.)Also told her about the slimy shrimp and that the calamari was cold and tasteless. She said "sorry about that" and just kept it moving.Next we ordered our entrees. I ordered a caprese salad with a chicken upgrade for $5. My guest ordered a crab cake sandwich with fries and coleslaw. For no reason that I could see, the food again took 20 plus minute to come to our table. My plate had exactly 3 tomatoes, 3 small pieces of mozzarella and 3 tiny leaves of basil. I asked for the balsamic vinegar on the side and instead it came splattered on top of it. The extra chicken was a small grilled breast that was completely dried out and cold. I had one bite of the chicken and that was enough. The crab cake sandwich my guest had was ok, but she had no ketchup for her fries. She didnt want to have to ask again for something that should have been brought out with her meal.At that point, neither of us was too hungry anymore. We ended up leaving with 2 doggy bags of our food that we barely touched.Nothing was comped off our bill even though we told our waitress all of the problems we had from the long wait for just a glass of wine, to no napkins and cold lousy food. All she said over and over again was she was so sorry about the bartender, and the forgetful food runners, and the cold lousy food from the chef. She totally threw everyone else under the bus and hit the gas pedal. Never once did she take any ownership that any of it could have been her fault. It was one of the worst experiences I have had dining out in a long time.If this is the way this restaurant is run after a year and a half of covid problems and shutdowns and loss of income, they need to change for the better, and quick or theyre going to have real problems. At this time I do not recommend this restaurant. Go elsewhere until things get better here...that is if they ever do.
Come on... cant go to AC without stopping by Harrys. Great deal and price for a full seafood tower... always fresh and tasty. Make sure you get some horseradish with your raw seafood. Its extremely potent, will make you tear but its worth every bite.
I went here for my birthday, expecting seafood. What I got was "were all out of lobster tails and crab". I tried the cold whole lobster instead. It was terrible. $33 bucks for cold rubbery hardly anything there lobster. The shrimp cerviche wasnt much better. It was so blah I had to add salt. The waitress kept trying to excuse the restaurants lack of seafood options with stories of a "gas crisis" and thats why they didnt have anymore. It just made things awkward. The best thing I had to eat there was some of my boyfriends steak. That actually was very good and flavorful. Go figure. If you still decide you want to try this place out be sure to make a reservation, otherwise, youre stuck eating at the bar. They do have outside seating as well, however, it was raining when we went so Im not sure if the service would have been better or not with that option.
Very good food and friendly staff. We particularly enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the fish tacos, but the lobster, steak, and appetizers were all delicious!Outdoor seating is first come first serve, which is a shame, as it would be very nice to be able to make reservations and get the option of indoor or outdoor seating.
First time here! A friendly man payed for my oyster as I tried it for the 1st time ever in my life and it happened to be pretty good. I also had the Buffalo hot wings and they were good. I would go back.
The New England clam chowder was fantastic! Service was quick and the waitress was very friendly. The crab cake sandwich was highly disappointing. It was way too heavily fried (why do you even need to deep fry a crab cake?and half the size of the bun.
It was ok to much breading on the seafood combo and my girl had the tacos they fish was over cooked and not eddible. I dont think i will back to dine
Good food and drinks menu. Sit inside or outside.
Super popular raw bar - make a reservation.Service: wonderful. Server, host, and hostess worked together to get us a table for a wheelchair and a minor (cant sit at barat a super busy time. Server, Maria, was outstanding. She was patient with us and made great recommendations.Food: great selection of raw items - oysters, clams, lobster, ceviche and more. Clam chowders were excellent. Crab nachos were creamy and more like a crab dip - yummy! The only thing to be careful of is the hot and cold items come from different kitchens - which meant our meals came out at different times. However it was only a couple minutes difference, and Maria warned us it might happen.
New england clam chowder was not appetizing.. huge chunks of celery & broth is like gravy *not good gravy*. Ravioli tasted freezer burnt & filet was horrible charred. Blackened mahi mahi sandwich was NOT blackened. Not worth the price at all seriously dont recommend. Calamari appetizer was so bland. Service & atmosphere was the only thing i cant complain about unfortunately
Awesome sea food for a good price and friendly service. We love it I recommend
Decided to goto Harry’s since the Fiancée was craving it.Our server wasn’t as much attentive and apologized for our food taking so long to come out.I ordered the Fish and Chips and my meal was actually good. On the other hand my Fiancée disapproved of the crab cakes entree because it had no flavor with an unusual taste. Good thing fries are my favorite side dish because there were a lot especially on hers.Don’t let our experience justify your decision to go here. Who knows you make like it.
The food here was delicious. They have the best calamari and oysters! The atmosphere and live band was great!
Was very busy when arrived they sat us at bar outside which we didn’t mind. Bartenders were quick with drinks and paid good attention when drinks were low. Had the Buffalo wings which were amazing and the steamed clams white sauce were very good! Live music too
Oysters were amazing! Great outdoor space and atmosphere! Kids could run around in the grass and let the parents finish eating. Plus!
Our 1st meal of the New Year - oh boy were we HAPPY! We we able to dine in and our experience was just wonderful ❤ As our pictures have capture a plethora of oysters that we enjoyed from Sweet Jesus to Wianno to East & Blue Point to local Cape May simply delicious 😋 We also indulged in creamy New England Clam Chowder & Fish and Chips.
Outdoor seating had about a 45 min wait. Not bad. Just get on the list and they text you. Other than to tell us to move our seat for someone that wasnt there or ever came back, We had a drink at the bar and the bartender pretty much ignored us when we sat down. Once he finally served us, it was fine. The dinner outside was great. Oysters and seafood were awesome. The best part of our dinner... Our waitress. Missy was incredible. Very attentive and personable. We even made sure to let the hostess know how great she was. Will return and hopefully get her as our waitress again.
We had a delicious lunch. Best Tuna Tatar 😋Nice patio.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Great wings and oysters and even better cocktails. Will definitely come back next time Im in Atlantic city.
9-13-2020 - Service here was excellent. The food was delicious. Ordered shrimp ceviche, cesar salad and linguine with claim and Gardiner fresco sauce. The only down fall is there is basically no social distancing being done on the outside area dinning and bar. So Im giving a 3 star because this is a serious issue.9-17-2020 - I went back during the day this time and as the issue stated above about the Covid-19 self distancing issue. Everything seemed pretty good this time. I got shrimp ceviche again and it was again absolutely delicious.9-18-2020 - I got reservations this time and everything was by far was awesome. The service to the food. I ordered salad, lobster tail, shrimp ceviche, claim chowder and I tried row Oysters for the 1st time. This meal was by for the best Ive ever had excellent food. Upped the rating to a 5 star.5-14-2021 - I went back here for the week of the 14th several times this week and I had a wonderful experience here. The two managers I met done an excellent job and they were extremely Nice and polite. The bartenders was wonderful. All in all the experience here was exceptional.
Best service from Cathy! Not sure which oysters to try ask. We had the sweet ones. Delicious. Mussels in the white wine trust me youre going to want more bread. The Mango wheat beer 🍺 was outstanding.
Food was delicious 😋my oysters were fresh and succulent. Jalapeño Margarita 🍹was fantastic. My waiter was delightful and friendly. Overall I enjoyed myself.
We love it here!! Our favourite place to eat when we go to Atlantic City. If youre looking for really good oysters dont think twice!!
Oysters were fantastic. The menu had a decent variety of seafood and drinks. We also got the crab nachos. Nachos came with tons of crab meat. Meat was sweet. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely return to try out other things on the menu.
Clams on a half shell were terrific!!!!!!! We also had oyster shots. Reasonable pricing and great service. If your visiting Atlantic City, you have to come here
As a seafood lover this place checks all the marks. Great food. Lovely ambiance. And right off the boardwalk enough to have cool views but tucked away from people walking by. Such a cool spot.
Service was good, seafood was so fresh it was like it was just caught from the Atlantic Ocean right before you put your order in. Definitely going back
Todd out bartender was great. We watched the game enjoyed the oysters on a happy hour $1 sale I was shocked plus after dinner the desert was so yummy. Great ending to our day. Thanks
This oyster bar and seafood restaurant is a hidden gem just off the boardwalk. My server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some helpful suggestions. All the seafood was very fresh. I had the Bacardi Carribbean Punch. It was great.
The staff was very nice and helpful. I ordered for takeout and the hostess saw me waiting with me son. While we were waiting she came and offered a picture and crayons for my son to color while we wait. This gesture meant a lot to me. Food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
Last Sunday, we attempted to be seated at this location. We were told we could not due to the fact that seating was reserved and completely booked for the day, but had the option to order food to go. We waited about 20 minutes while they took our order. We were a party that had 6-7 people, and decided to order separate to avoid confusion and possible mistakes with our orders. While we were waiting for our food we sat in some nearby seats for a reserved table that had been empty since we got there but were asked to move by a waitress who said she could get in trouble if her boss saw us sitting there. Mind you, we are a party of 6-7 and had to be crammed in the nearby walk space of servers rushing out food and other patrons sitting there. The bartenders did not ask us for our name while taking down our orders so we had to stay close by. We waited for at least an hour before everyone in our party got their food being asked to move twice by two different servers. Upon arriving home, we noticed one of our burgers were extremely rare, barely even cooked. We thought, no biggie, we still have nachos. But, as we were about to begin eating those, we pulled an entire metal string from it. All of us immediately lost our appetite. Our party had spent easily about $150-$200 for terrible food and service. Never again will we visit this restaurant. If we can give this locale 0 stars, we would.
Great food . Service could have been better!
Wow, all I can actually say about the oysters!!! The 2nd best I ever had next to NOLA! John, the bartender, was great to talk to & recommended the Mahi Mahi tacos. Happy hour is the best time for oysters. Will be back for more!
Absolutely incredible food. We go here every year for the oysters and are always delighted. They have a great selection, their seafood is always super fresh and high quality, and most of the staff is really fantastic. If you love any kind of fresh delicious seafood DEFINITELY GO HERE. 100% worth it.
Honestly, for the place who has word oyster as a part of its name, its a shame to serve dirty oysters... The atmosphere was great though. Live music and cheerful waiter made up for bad oysters experience.
The staff were very polite. First, I was seated next to the rear outside exit. So customers kept exiting and entering as the cold air kept blowing at my face and food. As to the food experience, the presentation was nice but the taste was bland, the clam had more pieces of shells than meat which I had to keep removing from my mouth after constantly crunching on it. They gave me the wrong drink(I asked for a strawberry margarita. I got the plain one which I didnt like. Then when I asked them about it they tell me my drink order is no longer in stock. So I wasted almost $50, including tip for bagged doggy food I couldnt eat and liquor which was left full glass on the table. Wish I could get my money back.
Ate lunch with my wife on a quiet Tuesday in January. My wife had the shrimp and pasta, which was a generous portion wonderfully seasoned ...very tasty ....she took half of it home for another meal! I had the lobster roll which was 100% awesome!!🙂🙂
We just happen to past by Harrys and decided to try it . A great choice the staff was very friendly, we started with the new England clam chowder a large bowl great tasting, the seafood was delicious and fresh, large portions. The drinks from the bar were good not weak . The server was extremely helpful.
Great place for seafood. We loved the fried oysters and the shrimps. We had crab sandwich and a raw seafood platter (the small one). It was more then enough for us. Serving was fast and professional. The whole place is just really cool. By the way our favorite was the fried oysters. The shrimps were fried with honey we think, it was great as well.
The food in here tasted so good. I had 3 shrimp tacos and it was seasoned so good. My boyfriend had a seafood platter everything fried and it came with fries. That was really good also.
The good was delicious. Had the Sweet Jesus oysters with an Island Breeze cocktail. The cocktail was served in a bucket. The ambiance was suttle with a backdrop of the beach while sitting out on the patio..I definetly recommend this place. The customer service was great!
I visited this place while on a short vacation with a friend. We werent expecting the food to be so good and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The lobster roll is small but delicious and packed with lobster. I also love that its not coated in mayo. The drinks are not watered down and are worth every penny. I loved the atmosphere with all the wood. The bartender was great.
