Harry's Bar, James Street in Mpwapwa
Description
Privilege
Lovely dishes and knowledgeable waiters. We had a lovely experience and e got some great photos. We would definitely come again and recommend it to everyone
MoreAmazing food as always. Great alternative to Cipriani or the other Harry’s in Knightsbridge. Good if you want to chill around the area after as it’s very central.
MoreGreat food with huge portions and really good value. Highly recommended.
Harry spa is one of my favourite places in London for lunch. Service is very good and the food is outstanding. you know what you’re going to get here and I couldn’t fault it at all. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant is very clean
MoreCame here for Saturday Brunch. Sat outside by the street, but was not bothered by the noise. The food was good, the service was excellent and the ambiance was welcoming. Would visit again.
MoreNever got to taste anything… sat there for more than 5 minutes nobody came to take my order… nice welcome at the entrance, sat me down with menu’s… then nobody showed up. maybe next time I’ll get a taste of their food, hopefully it will be worth the second visit.
MoreI always enjoy Harry’s Bar anytime I’m in London or Rome. Tonight’s experience was poor. Awful service and was told, by my server, the bartender “cannot make a limoncello spritz” and was then treated very poorly. Really? Are the bartenders so inept they cannot craft a cocktail from existing ingredients or did the server not want to be bothered? I’ve had them every time I’ve been in London and Rome. Not typical Harry’s Bar style.
MoreI took my friend here for her 24th Birthday and the waitress that took care of us was super lovely. Absolutely loved the Lady Mayfair Cocktail and would return here for drinks. My friend got a cute surprise at the end with a salted caramel dessert which was nice of the restaurant. However I thought the food was just okay nothing stands out. Would return here for cocktails though!
MoreWe had a birthday celebration of my friend here and I must say that we had a wonderful time! We were looked after, the staff was friendly and helpful. Francesco was the star! Super professional.Food was delicious, cocktails too.The place is busy, therefore a bit noisy but this even more gives a feeling of being in Italy 🇮🇹
MoreMains were nice, however got served gone off-milk and vodka instead of an espresso with the ice cream for an afogatto. Waitress decided she disagreed, with there incorrectly being vodka in there, but conceded that it was not right. This didnt go down well.Furthermore by the time I left, my stomach felt terrible and I think the prawn starter I had was the culprit. Avoid at all cost, there are better places only a short distance away.
MoreFriendly staff and nice atmosphereThe mushroom desert doesn’t worth it , but highly recommend to try olive oil ice cream!!!!
MoreFantastic restaurant with friendly and helpful waiters, very tasty food and surprisingly generous portions. The Zucchini starter was fabulous and could be easily shared if you wish. A lovely lunch!
MoreIts a super nice bar with really nice interiors. Food is good and the menu is interesting. Everything looks delicious but there is room for flavour improvement. Excellent service!
MoreExtremely rude customer service.Having spent thousands of pounds in this restaurant since it opened, I felt very disappointed today, when the receptionist told me I can’t have a table for two, unless I order three courses plus drinks (!)When I told her we’re having food and drinks , but uncertain about the amount of courses, she promptly refused to seat us. Even though plenty of empty tables. How can you demand of a customer in such a place to order three courses? I’m of not a big fan of desserts, thus cannot be forced to order such when booking a table.Asked to speak the manager. A nice chap came along named Stefano. Little did he do apart from telling me he’ll have a word with the receptionist in question. Like, how about you seat us then ?Rudeness beyond measure. Harry’s Bar big fail 👎🏻
MoreService was awful!! I cannot describe enough how much the waiter was rude with us, most of our orders were taken wrongly!Food was a v e r a g e !!! Really every dish was worse than the other. Will never ever recommend it and will never ever come back again
MoreThe food was excellent, the dessert is average tbh but looks pretty. The service is bad and very slowww
MoreMy Sister and I came in on the 7th August 2022 for brunch. The service was impeccable, the waiters and workers were very friendly and very attentive. We had reserved a table outside but at 12ish, there were a few tables but it had started to get a little busy. The food is absolutely incredible and mouth watering. I had two small plates and my sister had 1 and a bread basket, a mimosa and some bottled water; the total was £75 so a little on the pricey side but well worth it. I would definitely come back here! Thank you for your hospitality.
MoreFood was good in general. Desert was amazing, exceptional service, as we asked to change one of the pastas after trying it and not liking it, they agreed to change it straight away with no questioning. Overall good experience. Will definitely visit again
MoreIf I could give zero, I would. I honestly cant believe how we were treated in this place tonight. I ordered the chicken Milanese and asked for a side of macaroni. I was fully aware that the side was an extra which I would have to pay for. The waitress came back and said "sorry do you want chips or green beans with your chicken?". Given the way the question was phrased, I assumed that I had misread the menu and that the chicken came with with either chips or green beans so I said chips believing I was still getting my side of macaroni. The meal then came without macaroni and I asked when it was coming to which the waitress replied "you said you wanted chips". I explained the confusion and she said no problem, that shed take the chips off the bill. I felt this had been managed appropriately given that it was the waitress who made the mistake and forgot my order, then asked me a misleading question. However, when I asked for the bill, a very rude and rather aggressive manager came over to explain to me in a loud voice that sides are not free. I found this quite embarrassing in front of other customers as I had every intention of paying for everything I ordered, but not for mistaken orders by staff. I was absolutely appalled that a manager would think it is appropriate to speak to customers in this manner. Im bitterly disappointed because I was looking forward to coming back to Harrys Bar but the whole ordeal left me feeling completely embarrassed and furious, not the way Id like to finish a nice evening out.
MoreFrom the food to the service it’s been a total disappointment. I had booked a table at 3:15 and still had to wait 20min to be seated. The food was average from the parmigiana that’s lacking flavors to my lobster spaghetti which was the worst I’ve ever had in an Italian restaurant. Now, let’s talk about the service and the delay. The waitress was rude and non attentive. We waited half an hour to get our order taken. Whenever calling the waitress she would look unhappy and she forgot to bring us the water until I asked the manager to. However she took good care of other customers and constantly was pouring their water constantly. The food arrived after a long wait and wasn’t even served properly on the table. We were 3 and the food was dispatched randomly and rudely on the table as if we were 4. It’s been anything but total disrespect from the start. My sister and grandmother are visiting me in London and I thought I’d bring them from all the reviews I’ve read but DO NOT make the same mistake. The restaurant does not live up to the expectations of its reputation which I consider long lost. The manager or owner needs to react urgently to the chaos that’s reigning at Harry’s. I have heard similar notice from friends who visited previously but wanted to try for myself. Save your money and go somewhere else. I hope this helps.
MoreCute little brunch spot with outdoor seating that looks a bit like you’re in Paris. The food was ok, we had the brunch menu (avocado on toast). I wouldn’t return for the food but it’s a good spot for drinks outdoors, especially as it’s so close to the busy Oxford Street but feels a lot more peaceful.
MoreThe staff at Harrys was rude, disrespectful, dismissive, discriminative, just out right abysmal. I went bridal dress shopping with the girls and my mum. We wanted to grab a cute lunch between fittings. Harrys staff looked at us, and told us the entire place was reserved. Even though the restaurant was completely empty on a Saturday afternoon. There was literally 3 tables (if thatfilled. Mind you we was not dressed up to the nines, but we defo fitted the shopping for a dress attire (light summer clothing). They were so rude and gave us no option of waiting. They didnt let us know whether a reservation had been cancelled. Unhelpful!! We told them it was a special girly shopping trip for the bride, and that did NOTHING. As we where talking to them, two ladies walked in and sat down. I thought that was quiet strange. We all walked of and found somewhere else to eat. James Street Kitchen Indian food Cuisine. Welcome us gracefully. There food was lovely, nice and spicy. Customer service was excellent! They made us feel loved. While we were there we phoned Harrys to book a table and they told us there was availability. Thats was very unsettling to have discovered they lied to us. I have never experience blatant hostility in my life. They should be ashamed of there selves.
MoreI love coming here, the food is always so good and the atmosphere is great. I can’t fault anything and the service is attentive. We started with the calamari fritti, gamberi e nduja, and Harry’s tagliolini. Then we had pizza funghi, truffled chicken and rosemary chips. Our drinks were Sicilian margarita and the Lady Mayfair. To finish we shared a Tiramisu.
MoreAmazing dining experience! Food was 10/10, definitely want to come back and try other dishes on the menu!
MoreGreat food and drink, amazing service! Thanks to Martina for the wine suggestions!
MoreWe were meeting some family members for brunch. It was empty when we arrived at about 10.45 a.m.1. Coffee.I ordered my usual double espresso with hit milk on the side. The waitress forgot the milk and then brought me a small jug of mainly froth. By the time the milk arrived my coffee was lukewarm. Not a good start.Harrys bar did redeem themselves with the food.2. I ordered courgette fries which were really nice. Also the mini arancini were very nice. Probably one of the best I have had.Macaroni cheese was also very nice and cheesy.3. MainsOne person ordered the Eggs Royal and another the avocado on toast. Both were excellent. We also ordered the pasta verdict which was excellent.4. DesertAfter stuffing ourselves, we only ordered one desert to share. It was visually beautiful and delicious.
MoreHad a wonderful time at Harry’s with the family, the staff were amazing with my little girl & couldn’t do enough for us. Food was delicious & we finally got to try the famous toadstool dessert. We had a great evening & would definitely return in the future.
MoreThe food is good and nicely served. The service is kind and fast. The decoration is pretty and welcoming. Great for having dinner and cocktails.
MoreCame in for a night cap and was not disappointed. All drinks were made right and a bit on the strong side, so we had a massive headache the next day, but as expected. Our waiter, pictured, surprised us at every corner so we had a fun night out. Aqua panna to top us off as we walked back to the hotel.
MoreAmazing place. Beautiful interior, lovely atmosphere, great drinks and food just beyond imagination. Evening with friends well spended. Definitely gonna come back when we will be craving for some nice Italian dishes.
MoreA little bit on the pricey side, but really nice for a birthday celebration or when you want to push the boat out a little. Great food and service is attentive whilst still being discreet and unobtrusive. Best to book in advance. Go on, you know you want to.
MoreThe lady Mayfair must be the best cocktail I’ve ever had! The place is beautiful the decor the ambiance - real boujeeand the food was delicious..tried the hyped mushroom 🍄 dessert not a huge fan of white chocolate but it wasn’t bad think the pistachio crumb cut into the sweetness of the white chocolate and ice cream, really well made. the truffle tagliatelle was heaven so rich and creamy and the prawns nduja sauce had a real kick to it10/10 experience
MoreMy friend and I were very excited to finally come to this restaurant!Unfortunately weve been a bit disappointed. Our table was very small and placed behind a corner basically in the dark. The whole place seemed to be very chaotic and there where not even space for the staff to walk through between the tables. The food was nothing special, almost everything was tasteless. We ordered their famous "mushroom" dessert and but apparently somebody messed up with our order and it took ages to arrive, it came basically after we paid our bill. Not a great experience unfortunately.
MoreFirst time here and honestly such a great experience 🙏💯 cocktails are amazing, especially the bloody mary and the white negroni.. food is delicious and the staff is extremely professional and friendly. One of my best experiences in London so far !!
MoreFood was really good, service was slow and couldnt get around to getting dessert. We were there for two hours..We got the clam pasta, and seafood pasta.Zucchini fries and bread basket. Fragola as a drink.
MoreCool vibe, great service, exquisite selection of Italian food, lovely decor and restrooms. Highly recommend the aubergine parmigiana, truffle chicken and toad stool dessert. Looking forward to returning again.
MoreFood was filling, not as flavoursome as I expected but the seafood was well cooked. The atmosphere and decoration was lovely. Dimly lit but it added to the dining experience. Staff was friendly, efficient and provided good service.
MoreHas been on my list for a while now! One of the best places to find Tiramisu around central London. It’s not too sweet allowing you to have the complete pot in a single serving. Also had a toadstool & the way fresh basil cuts. Through the sweet flavours will blow you away!A party of the Ivy group, Harry’s Bar lives up to the standards & the name earned over the decades.
MoreAmazing place, great service, and well prepared and presented drink and food. Dont go for a quiet night because this place has tons of energy and happy people.
MoreThe food was okay. The zucchini fritti was too oily. Focaccia was too dry. The service was quite bad too — everything was chaotic.
MoreThe place was very beautiful. Food was very average. They first served us risotto and arancini to start. Risotto was too salty and the arancini was really nothing special at all. After receiving our starters, our server didn’t really come back to ask if everything was okay with the food. We tried to call a server to the table multiple times but no one noticed us because it was too busy. When a server finally noticed, we asked to send back the risotto because it was too salty and he seemed like he was arguing with us that it risotto is really that salty (lol). Gladly they took it out of our bill. For the mains, we ordered the fish and spaghetti vongole. We also had the polenta and creamy mash as a side. We were very disappointed with the fish because the skin was burnt. We didn’t really bother complaining about the fish anymore because we already complained about the risotto and it seems like the servers were really busy anyway. The spaghetti vongole was delicious but I feel it was slightly over drenched in butter. The creamy mash was really good and the polenta I feel could have been cheesier. To finish, we had a tiramisu for dessert which was very good. Overall, I feel like some of the dishes were good but we were just unlucky with the risotto and the fish. I also feel that the service could’ve been a bit better considering how much we were paying.
MoreGorgeous restaurant, lovely staff all of who were very accommodating to us and my 3 month old son. I had let them know we needed space for the stroller and we had a lovely table, no problems with having stroller next to us. Menu had some amazing dishes on it...difficult to choose! Everything we had was so tasty, service was quick even though restaurant appeared to be quite busy. Coffee afterwards was also delicious. Would recommend a visit to Harrys!
MorePop in here while in the area. The service was very quick and friendly. Order and sirloin steak medium rare. The sauce was so so. Streak seemed more like a rare but very nice nonetheless. 👍
MoreGreat food...well presented tasty too nice to sit outside very busy ambience staff friendly and service great...dessert amazing...Great choices...
MoreGreat food and even better service.Waiting staff brought us the wrong bread to start and couldnt be more apologetic - bringing out the correct order and removing it from our bill as a good will gesture. The food was a very reasonable price and we definitely will be returning
MoreThe place is very nice and staff are very friendly. However the food arrived late, and it tasted average for their prices. The pasta was overcooked and the bolognese sauce was quite runny. Although, would give it a second chance by visiting again to try other dishes, as the atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing!
MoreA lovely Italian restaurant in Marylebone - great food, friendly staff, impressive interior…high prices 🙈I had a lovely brunch here with my girlfriend. Menu features a good mix of traditional brunch dishes with Italian twist (for example, eggs royale…on focaccia!and Italian dishes (risotto, pasta, you name it)I had eggs royale (served on focaccia with rosemary chunky chipsand avocado on a side, my girlfriend had truffle risotto. We both loved our food! Coffee was also delicious - ask for chocolate on top no matter what you order!
MoreHigh end Italian restaurant just off Oxford Street. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food is a little expensive - all sides are extra. The mushroom dessert was amazing - a real wow factor!
MoreGreat spot for lunch - amazing food, prompt service, beautiful decor and a truly lovely experience on a sunny summer day! The location is next to a number of restaurants at the end of Marylebone, so it’s quite lively and buzzy. Will def be back!
MoreSaturday night drinks and nibbles. Took some appetizers and enjoyed the special truffle menu, for the fresh truffle season. The truffle carpaccio was great along with the focaccia and the Burrata.Iconic Zucchini fries did not disappoint either.Drinks were quite nice too, especially the North to South Negroni. Some disappointment of the Tiramisu which lacked coffee and rum (or another alcohol flavours and was quite plain).Lovely service overall.
