Harrogate Flower Shows - Places of interest in Leeds, United Kingdom
Brilliant atmospheric good countryside viist in sunny day. Lovely to see open field areas and its soo eye catching. Defo will visit again
The Show itself deserves 5 stars but, they desperately need to sort out the traffic situation. 2 hours for a 45 minute journey is ridiculous. Entry price has increased substantially.
We all love the Yorkshire show. Lots of animals (obviouslybut lots of other shows and demonstrations. Plenty of country clothing shops and food. You see plenty of cars, tractors etc also
GYS is always a fab event and one to have in your calender if you are into horses/farming/food etc theres always plenty to see and do for everyone. It was so much better only doing advanced tickets and limited numbers for each day, you could actually see the stalls and speak to the vendors etc.
Expensive but amazing day out. Took our nearly 2 year old who loved all the animals and especially the tractors. Got to sit on a few and a police motorbike. He was ecstatic! We also had a great time when he slept in the buggy. So much to see and do. A few bars about and plenty of food. Spent a fortune but it was well worth it!
Very nice staff with great food. The grassmen stand and the ripon farm services is a must see with all the latest kit and all the latest clothing. The sheepdog trails are a must see as well with the handling on the dog which is just amazing coming from a farmer.
Really lucky with weather. Plenty of stalls exhibitions animal judging. A really worthwhile day. Food demos and samples delicious. Value for money day out. Courtesy bus an extra treat.
Loved the Great Yorkshire Show, weather was perfect. The food and drink was outstanding as always and there was lots to see. Even met Peter Wright the Yorkshire vet. Great time was had, we will definitely be back.
Was very disappointed that the cattle were not being shown, one ring does not a show make! The stands were also in the way of watching this year. The judges food was very basic, not up to standard, with not enough vouchers to cover the meals available. All in all disappointed
Amazing site. Great people. Beautiful . All that is required for an amazing day
Not been for the last 30 yrs so although it was a great day out it wasnt as good as I remember, less machinery, less shopping and no where near the livestock but the efficiency of the car parking has been vastly improved but there was a serious lack of signs on the way in until we got quite close, and even though the parking attendants missed my disabled badge and directed us to normal parking the bus made getting to the show very easy
Great traffic not so great sat nav trying to send you down some narrow roads so ignore and follow yellow G YS signs all good beer prices not can of Carling £4 50 if you are ndaft enough took Nour own food and had a meal out
Its the first time weve been to the, Great Yorkshire Show. Its best to get there early. Everything we saw, we really liked and I can always say that Ive been. Plenty to eat and drink and lots of animals to see. There could have been more signs, pointing to where things are, the show was so big we missed a lot, with not knowing where to go. The free maps were OK up to a point, but if you didnt know where you were, the map was usless. There wasnt enough seats for people sit down. When it got busy you couldnt get to see any of the stalls as the amount of people was overwhelming and the people with pushchairs and disabled buggys had no chance of moving, it was a nightmare for them. Although we would have liked to have stopped a bit longer, there was no point if you cant get to the stalls.
Good show as ever, didnt see any of the free water stations though. They should have had water stations at every major point especially in this heat.
Despite living in Yorkshire my entire life this was my first time attending the great Yorkshire show, and I loved it. There is something for everyone here, whether you have small children or go as adults. Farmer or no farmer; farm animals, plants, birds, food, alcohol. Highly recommend.
We visited while on holiday from Scotland,it was a fantastic day out, lots to see and loads of stalls to browse
It was a brilliant day. We had so much fun. There is almost too much to do.
Great show, very varied exhibits, lots happening in all the rings anddemonstration areas, worth every one of the five stars!
Prepare for lots of walking. Lots of food places, stalls and plenty of toilets. £5 books a seat all day in the seating area at the main area.
Absolutely loved The Great Yorkshire show well set out and fantastic staff who were always happy to help.I will have to attend 2 days next year in order to fit in all events I want to see.
Great day out, lots of things to see.
Me and my family went yesterday (13th Julyto the Yorkshire show, fantastic day wide variety of activities for the children. Lots of store and loved that Yorkshire water had set up water stations to fill up your water bottles...however they was in awkward places and not always the closest to where you was. They is also loads of toilets around which was really handy. Food was fab wide selection of different types of foods. Lots of animals to see and animals rings to see the horses and cattle. Absolutely love the hounds always make sure I go on the day theyre there! I arrived at the Yorkshire show at 8.10am and I was parked in the field opposite the gold Gate so I didnt have far to walk. However those arriving very later in the day had to park in fields alot further away with quite a walk, so I would recommend you going at an early time. We also took a picnic bag with sandwiches ect to eat throughout and then bought something hot in the afternoon which helped alot as children are always hungry. Highly recommended.
Good day out, well organised, plenty to see. This year is ticket only so dont turn up expecting to pay on the gate. Ample parking and stewards directing where to park. Its a big day out so arrive early to make most of your time there. Its the biggest Agricultural show in the country I think, so plenty of different animals to see and farming practices to hear about.Definitely one for your bucket list.
Fantastic and huge show, so much to see and do. Pity I could only attend the first day. Well organized on site although traffic management in / out of the site leaves much to be desired!
Not my cup of tea .Overrated in my opinion. Not really into Horses ,hounds and livestock .Not enough seating area for the older folk who can find it difficult to sit on the grass and finding shade from the sun when its not is difficult.Wont be going again.
It should be called " The great Yorkshire Queue". Only in England would they dig up the main road. You then have to queue up once you get out of the car, as they believe we are not grown up enough to cross a road on your own. 2hrs to get in. Do not follow signs at junction 46.Go your own way , it will save you hrs
The Best Agricultural Showpiece in The Country. Now a 4 day event. Stalls, Stands, Activities, Exhibitions, Crowd Participation.Competitions, Livestock Judging. Its all there. Plenty of Bars and Refreshments. Given Good Weather then this is a Crowd Pleaser every time. Located off Wetherby Road and held Annually (unless Covid or War intervenesin the second week of July.Highly recommended.
Brilliant day out in the country, plenty to see plus lots of top quality food and farm products to buy, good for shopping maybe for a gift or for yourself, rather expensive £30 for an adult ticket but as the event is only on one week a year its well worth it
Brilliant day out for all. Many things to keep you entertained throughout the day, from agricultural competition - cows/sheep/pigs so on. Horse riding and competitive shows. Sheep shearing. Experiences from Land Rover, Ferris wheel, rock climbing. Many stalls filled with independent goods such as clothing, food, gifts. Giant tractors of many shape sizes and brands e.g. John Deere/JCB. Plenty of food stalls/street food vendors to quench your appetite. You may even be lucky to spot Royalty walking around tooThink of a summer version of a Christmas market but themed around animals and agriculture.
A great show. Extending to 4 days and a limit on maximum daily attendance has worked well in my view.
Great day out as usual. So much to see and do.
2022 - Great day out! Food good, animals awesome, beer, spirits and wine yep theyve got plenty, loads of things for kids (1Y+to do for free from colouring-in, seeing birds of prey to friendly creepy crawlies up close! Brilliant, see you all next year!
