550 N Harbor Dr, Milwaukee, WI 53202, United States, Milwaukee
Upscale spot with Lake Michigan & skyline views serving steak, seafood dishes & a lengthy wine list.
We have been to several of the Bartolottas restaurants over the years and by far our favorites are Harbor House and Lake Park Bistro. We had been planning on trying one of the newest restaurants downtown, but they were not open on Saturday for lunch/brunch. Lucky us! Harbor House came through as usual with their food and ambience. Our entrees were excellent. I love the attention to detail that Harbor House seems to excel in. Our waiter, Joel made our dining experience even more enjoyable. He was well informed with the menu, friendly and so professional. Joels demeanor was everything a customer could ask for when dining. Praises to the chef and his staff, the hostess and of course, Joel. It appears excellence is the norm for the Harbor House. Thank you all for a job well done.
My wife and I went fir our anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves. The food qas delicious, if there could be a complaint, my wife asked for onions on her steak but did not like them. She loved the ateak but not the onions.
really amazing seafood. we had lots of oysters, crab, lobster. delicious, with great views of downtown Milwaukee. Not something Id come to each year, but will definitely be back at some time or another - realize that this place is quite spendy.
On our first night in Milwaukee, we end our night with a delicious seafood meal, with views of the lake, and we were able to catch the wings at the art museum close.Swordfish plate was delicious! It was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The herb crusted halibut was just as amazing and well prepared. To perfect end to our meal was the pear galette, with a scope of vanilla ice cream.
We had a fantastic experience.. Denise was our server.. she went above and beyond for us. We were celebrating a special event.. she went the extra mile in cake decorating.. she did a great job.. wine choice also excellent.Food was excellent. We appreciate all the staff.Thank you for a fantastic dining experience
Everyone was very pleasant, and service overall was good. The 3 stars are purely for the quality of the food. With 1 glass of wine our meal for 2 was almost $200, which is fine, but a certain quality is expected at that price. Tuna app was fine, but store bought Wakame and raw ahi with fried wonton can be found at quite literally every other restaurant, at 2/3 the price. Caesar said croutons were actually so hard my wife couldnt eat them, burrito was actually delicious, maybe the star of the night. Salmon was overcooked, not to the point of having to send it back just too much for fine dining. Lobster roll was also just fine, with sysco fries and just not a ton of flavor. Overall again it was not a bad meal, just no where near the quality that their price demands.
Wife and I went expecting a top notch experience to celebrate a birthday. The location is very very nice with great views, so thats a positive. The service was very good also, but the most important piece was terrible - the food. I had one of their fish dishes (for the life of me I cant remember which as it was so forgettable). My wife had the scallops. Both dishes were bland, worse than Id expect from Red Lobster. They also didnt time the meals for the both of us, which resulted in one dish being a bit cold by the time it was served.I wouldnt recommend it if it were half the price, let alone what they charge for their meals.
I absolutely love the Harbor house! Amazing food, great options, fantastic wine list. If you want an amazing view while enjoying a delicious meal, this is the place to go. Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Appetizers were delicious! Main entrees equally wonderful. Dessert was pretty darned great as well. I can not wait to return in a few weeks for a birthday celebration!!!
Really good service and food. The ambiance and scenery completed the whole experience.
Was there for brunch with a party of about 24. Only one waiter was serving the table. Drink orders were messed up, some didnt get a drink at all. The waitress kept on filling my club soda glass with pain water (from the pitcher). My scallops were way too salty, my wifes crab legs were way too salty, prime rib was way too salty. Dessert arrived, but the waitress didnt even take our coffee order. Overall I was expecting a higher quality of food and service. Didnt get either. The waitress was overwhelmed and not happy. The best part about my experience was the valet guys and the hostess.
Great seafood and great views of Lake Michigan and downtown Milwaukee. A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We had oysters on the half shell, they had a wide selection so we had a tasting of a couple different kinds, and then mussels and scallops. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. We had a minor hiccup in service and our servers, Maddie and Caleb, quickly corrected it. Thats the sign of a quality restaurant.
Perfect spot for date night! If you want a place with great field along side a great meal go here! Was really impressed by the service and how quickly the food was prepared.
Brought out of towers from Florida who frequent seafood restaurants there and they couldnt stop raving about the food. Our service was great as well. You can always count on their restaurant group for top notch service and food.
BAD SERVICE! Valet guy was an jack wagon with a bad attitude. Valet guy tried to get more money from us, when it clearly says lunch valet is complementary! What business closes 3 hours to reset? Dumb! Come on, At least keep the bar open. I asked for a drink and was denied, saw I guy walk up to the bar get a drink right after me. You must need to be a rich guy to get served during reset hours! Never going back to this stuck up place! Learn how to do business!
Our experiences was tainted by the greedy valet that wanted to charge us $20 for parking during lunch , which is normally complimentary. Bar staff did not appear to be enjoying what they were doing, reluctantly serving us. The drinks were good and the food was also. Unhappy staff ruined the experience. Will not return.
Absolutely delicious. Fresh fish cooked perfectly.
This was my first time going here and it was so amazing. I really enjoyed the mango mule, and the cup that they were in was so cute. The lobster steak and mash potatoes were on point. And the view of the lake was just amazing. I can’t wait to go back.
Went here to celebrate my fiancés and my engagement. Told them in the notes that we were celebrating this. When we checked in, they acknowledged and congratulated us. We were seated at a table outside, which was fabulous. Food, as expected was wonderful. Our server never once asked us if we were celebrating anything special. This seemed odd to me, especially considering that it is a place where many people probably go to celebrate special occasions. She asked us if we wanted dessert, and I stated to my fiancé that we should get something since we are celebrating- a little treat! I assumed that at least the dessert would be on the house, but I was wrong. You would think when you are spending $75+/person for a meal, the least they can do is give you this treat ($12). Was even more taken aback when I walked to the bathroom before we left and saw many tables with desserts that had "Happy Birthday" spelled out in chocolate on their dessert plate. They can celebrate their special occasion, but not ours... There are many other places in Milwaukee where we can celebrate from now on. This will not be one of them.
It was so good, our waitress Diana was very nice as well! Definitely will come back!
We had a great experience at Harbor House. We initially had sat outside but the weather looked suspect so we decided to move inside. They were very accommodating. Food was excellent. Tried the lobster and fillet and it was really wonderful. Steak was cooked perfect, as was the lobster. Would highly recommend for a nice/special meal experience. Tyler our waiter was funny but still very professional and made the experience even better.
We had an awesome experience. Our server Alex was fantastic and very helpful, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was very cool. Made my wifes birthday dinner a huge success!
My husband made a surprise reservation for my first visit. It was really special and the patio was beautiful. Loved the lobster roll, bisque and mimosa.
The food was excellent! The service was excellent! The views were beautiful! Very pretty restaurant and nice views of Milwaukee lake front. It is very expensive but definitely worth special occasions. We went to dinner at 8PM and watched the sun set.
We loved our experience. Our group of four was celebrating my moms 75th birthday. Several people greeted us, as well as giving my mother many happy wishes for her birthday. The food be was exceptional, cooked perfectly and the service wonderful. Thanks for a memorable evening for our family.
Great place to have a special dinner! Great views of the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Veterans Park area and the lake. The distribution of the tables allows for views of the lake at any of them. The service was impeccable: they even showed us their favorite finished dishes before we ordered. We ordered lobster tails, Alaskan halibut along with a special scallops appetizer offered by the server. Everything was delicious, one of the best places in Milwaukee to eat seafood!#Milwaukee #Seafood #Lobster #Lake
Food and Service from restaurant staff is excellent, if only corporate communications and culture could be raised to same standard. I had a group reservation and needed to make adjustments and despite multiple requests to and from Barlottas for a call, email or response, nothing was ever forthcoming. Considering my party cost was over $1000.00 you would think they would care to engage.... sadly not. Cannot state enough however how wonderful the actual restaurant staff were and are. Owners... not so much!PS. Dont be fooled by response from owner saying they wanted to respond and engage in a conversation... I have done as they asked and they just ignore my key questions..... truly hopeless!
Wanted to love it as much as the hype built it up.Table was wobbly and unbalanced.Got sat for a 7:45 reservation, did not get our first round of drinks until 8:15.We saw our server when he dropped the drinks off and took our food order.Food delivered in a timely manner.Food was hot. Flavor was good. Portion was unimpressive.Next time we saw our server was to pre-bus our table, and then we never saw him again.Another round of drinks was never offered. The overall experience felt very stuffy, muted, and underwhelming. I’m going home still hungry and bummed out.
Beautiful views and great food. This was our first time here and it didn’t disappoint! We had a few cocktails each which were superb, especially the old fashioned. We shared the seafood bisque, which lacked salt in my opinion but my boyfriend loved it! I had that steam pot and he had the Connecticut lobster roll. Both were amazing! We’ll definitely come back when visiting Milwaukee again.
The food is HOLY EFFING expensive. Like I’m totally fine with 15 dollar clam chowder (literally cup sizedand 38 dollar salmon, but at least make the food memorable. The view was nice so I guess we were mostly paying for that…
Great view, wonderful service and delicious food. Went for Sunday brunch with our daughter...great place to go if you can get in. Need reservations. Pricey, but worth it.
Im vegan but mom wanted to go for brunch and so called ahead and checked if there were any options I could try. The chef whipped up a really nice veggie pasta off menu and even came out to check on my dietary needs. Im sorry to have caused such a ruckus but it was nice of the restaurant to accommodate me and the food was great. Mom enjoyed her eggs Benedict w Salmon and crab cake. The outdoor seating has a nice view of the lake and museum and is pleasantly shaded. The server was on top of things too and homed in on the punk vegan ready to go when we got there for the reservation.
So I made a reservation. I which I recommend. It was for husband birthday. So I included that in when I book it. We arrive early ,dress was smart casual. We valet Park. It was $6 for those who were eating at the restaurant. They had us sit the bar until it was are time. It was nice view looking out on the lake. They were prompt with sitting us . There was a cute birthday card on the table. They whish my husband happy birthday right away. The food was yummy the staff were great. I was kicking myself for not getting a picture of Sam Adam beer batter. I got the small one it came with scallops, cod, shrimp, and french fries ,and it was delicious the shrimp was gigantic. My husband got the clam chowder soup and then his main course was the Alaskan halibut and I got the African Maine lobster and it was all scrumptious melted in my mouth it was truly divine experience. And I would definitely go here again. For the bonus they gave my husband a birthday treat. I took a bite I was like wait I have to take a picture. We truly enjoy the experience. You can bring your kids however we left are crew at at home. Great place for a date night. We spent $165 for the two us we didnt have alcohol. It was worth it. The day before I was sent a reminder and confirmation to make sure that we were still coming for a reservation they also send you the menu which you can look over beforehand they tell you how you can park. It was truly appreciated because this was our first time. Were going to have to go back and try their Sunday brunch.
We made a reservation at the Harbor House and it was absolutely beautiful. The view was breathtaking. The cost was a little pricey. $80 for 2 crabs legs, potatoes and spinach. I didnt get to pick the side dish of my choice ☹️. The part that I really didnt care for was that there was a long blonde hair in my bread and another hair on my entire. The staff was awesome. We were seated promptly. I never told her about the hairs but the table behind us saw them and were more grossed out than we were. Just a little sad I paid $200 for hairy food.
Visiting from Michigan and dined here for our Anniversary last month. We were seated by a window with a nice view of the lake. The service was excellent and the food and drinks were SUPERB!We had reservations
First time there. Wait time was zero and we were seated right by the ocean view. Food was EXCEPTIONAL. Appetizers (Crab Cakes and New England Clam Chowder). So good...We ordered the fish basket(Cod, Shrimp, Scallops and Fries). Will definitely be back.
The food was perfectly tasty and the service was excellent. The view from there was stunning!
High end Milwaukee dining with a good atmosphere and better service. Great place to celebrate anything. You cant beat the view of the art museum on lake Michigan while enjoying a delicious meal.
Harbor House never disappoints. If it is a special occasion or their Sunday brunch or just a nice lunch I have never had a bad meal. Today we went for a Saturday lunch which is not their brunch menu but they do have Bloody Marys and mimosas to keep you happy. Their lunch portions are slightly smaller variations on their dinner menu. It was fantastic.
Harbor House is on the jut of land that formerly held Pieces of Eight north of the Summerfest grounds and by Discovery World. It has been beautifully refurbished and the views are phenomenal. The restaurant is dual owned by the popular Bartolotta eateries and the City of Milwaukee Harbor Commission. For many this area is a Milwaukee landmark. It is pricey, a party of two can expect a check of @$150. We love it for a treat every now and then. Reservations are recommended and they do a have great bar area that serves apps.
This was a great experience on the water at night watching the sun set. The food was perfect and the atmosphere was even better. I highly recommend you experience it.
Cant go wrong for special occasions. Picturesque locstion and perfectly prepared menu items. Very few places open on Mondays they figured that out and was quite busy. Lobster, oysters and fish solid preps. Cant miss with the New England Clam pot which is a twist on a bulibase. A little pricy but view, food and great service made it worth it.
We were unable to get into Brunch on a Saturday morning and Milwaukee Museum of Art was the next stop so we decided to try Harbor House. The people/service were exceptional and unpretentious. The infused gin was an amazing morning starter! lol I had the burger. While not anything special it was good AND this is a seafood joint. Isaiah had the lobster tail, spectacular and Kevin had the lobster pastry, also amazing. Prices are fair. There is free parking if you get lucky and the museum is an easy walk from the restaurant. We took a high top table in the bar and had a great view of the museum and the lake. Highly recommended!
We rarely go high-end when dining but wifes birthday was calling. Not cheap but the location and food made it worth it.I got a brie mushroom app as part of my meal along with veggie pasta. The app wasnt quite warm enough but had killer flavor. The pasta was delicious and was more than enough by itself. Each was among the more reasonably priced items. Maybe $20-22 each.Wife got lobster and 8 oz filet. She LOVED it! Think it was $77. Definitely worth a visit for a special occasion.
Service took a really long time for a reservation of 10 I expected adequate staffing, drink orders were overlooked, overall servers were very nice though and the food made up for other inadequacies. I would give them another try! Staffing shortages happen. Thanks Alex and Austen (I think, sorry if wrong)
There were issues with our reservation this weekend but they were able to find a seat for us and we were greatly appreciative of that. Overall the drinks I had was great. Although I do believe the food was a bit overpriced, each of us did the four course meal and spent a little over $500. The scallops were cooked perfectly but I believe there was a need to work on the desserts, they were overly sweet and or pungent with ginger (the cheesecake). Yet it was definitely a delightful experience.
We had an amazing time celebrating our marriage at Harbor House. The food was absolutely delicious, the scenery was awesome and we felt celebrated by everyone. The host even congratulated us again as we were leaving the restaurant. Thank you so much for an awesome time :)
Got the Halibut and husband got the Filet. Steak super tender and amazing along with the fish. Just request the grilled shrimp to be seasoned. Love how they had my favorite champagne by the glass but ended up getting the bottle anyway. Which was a great price!! We sat inside by the window and it was a great view of the lake!! Beautiful. Great food service and setting
An iconic restaurant location for Milwaukee. It’s a Bartolotta eatery so you can expect great service, nice atmosphere and good food. A little on the pricey side but it is fresh sea food (as fresh as you can expect in the Midwest).
From making the initial reservation to the actual visit this was a great experience. We went for our anniversary and were given a fantastic table with the best view. The food was top notch and the service was really awesome. Harbor house made our evening very memorable.
We visited last week for my birthday. This place is gorgeous. Elegantly decorated, cozy on the inside, and topped with the harbor view to the Calatrava, which is just beautiful. We were greeted as we arrived (RSVP required due to the COVID-19 situation, keep this in mind so they can plan everything aheadand masks should be worn while moving from your table and when any staff member goes to your table.Service was over the top, our server was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. She walked us through perfectly. The place is New England style food. We started with an assorted half dozen of raw oysters. Definitely the closest oysters that Ive had since my last visit to Boston. Not the most affordable ones, but definitely worth what you pay for (also, they have happy hour deals, you might wanna check on that)Our meals were followed by the crab salad and the raw shrimp cocktail, which were that refreshing dishes that I was looking just to contrast a cold night, so delish. All these while hubby ordered the scallops, just beautifully cooked. This is the kind of place that we visit whenever we get to celebrate an special occasion. The whole experience just brought us back to our days traveling the east coast. Plus, they gifted me a little dessert plate decorated with a birthday message. That was thoughtful and really cute! Very much grateful for itWe are hoping to visit again during the summer time, to enjoy their delicious food and the outstanding view in their patio. Also heard their brunch is great!
