Hapi Hotel - in Aswan, Egypt
Very bad experience I booked a room by phone and when I arrived at the hotel the receptionist gave me a room that was not the room i booked and she said that my room has not yet been checked out and she said we will change it the next day and it was a bad room and the bed was small and uncomfortable the next day she told me that no other rooms were available
Horrible place. Pictures on booking are misleading. Please do not book this place if you want a good night rest.
Very nice place to stay
Basic hotel on par with the standards of the area. I had a room with a friend facing east with a balcony wide enough to stand on. Disappointingly on the opposite corner of the hotel is a literal rubbish dumbing ground in the street, which is indicative of most of Aswan. Local businesses really need to be investing to improve their local areas and clean it up, as it just draws more rubbish (as evident by the trucks dumping more rubbish during the night).Rooms were fine, a/c is loud and breakfast very basic. Reception gave us good advice on a good local restaurant.
Good place to stay in Asuan.
Very nice location. Some rooms with an amazing view
We were going for a visit to Luxor and aswan me and my foreign friends so I called them to reserve 2 nights and they told us the prices then we reserved 2 rooms, after we arrived we found the room so small and the AC was very loud, when we told the front desk they said because its different category you have to pay extra fees for upgrading so I had no choice but to pay. At the night we asked them to stay on the roof they said it closes 8 PM and its not allowed to enter the roof.So we went to buy some food then we stayed together on one room to eat finding the security outside the door and the reception called us saying its not allowed for you to stay together in one room because they are foreigners and you are Egyptian also he mentioned that the owner of the hotel is so devout and he doesnt allow any group to stay together . Very bad experience, the security was so rude and disrespectful. Ill never return there.⁉️‼️
I booked and requested to have a quiet room but ended up staying on the lower floor with a room adjacent to the market street. Noisy outside as well as inside because of old air conditioner which affected my sleep the whole night. The toilet had flushing problem but the issue could be solved by pushing the button “really hard and long”The plus side is that the room was clean with firm mattress which was to my liking but it won’t change my thought to recommend you to stay somewhere else.
Pretty view over the Nile and walking distance from the port. Easy to board cruise ships from the hotel (500m). The rooms are clean and neat. Their breakfast very basic. Boiled eggs, bread, cheese and that was about it!!!
We stayed here for one night whilst visiting Aswan. Nice, clean hotel with a great shower and strong Air-con (though a bit noisy!). The lovely surprise was the view of the Nile from breakfast in the morning (see photos). 😁👍
Location was good, we had a quick stay to sleep and leave. Staff were really nice and tried to help us find a cab at 4 in the morning to get to the airport. Rooms were okay, it was really loud and no sound proofing at all but seems to be common in egypt.
Basic hotel which is clean and has air con. Staff are all friendly, breakfast is basic but they give you a packed breakfast for early morning trip to Abu Simbel. Hotel is opposite a rubbish site and bird market which is off putting
Clean, affordable, friendly. Stayed for 1/2 day because we had a late flight and needed a place to chill and clean up. It’s a bit tough to find, as you will enter off the Main Street, which by the way is busy and chaotic. When going out or the the airport, give yourself an extra 30 mins to get anywhere just because it is so crowded when trying ti leave. I’d recommend this place to ‘experienced travellers’. 5/5 stars for staff, 2/5 for location, 3/5 for room amenities, 4/5 for concierge/lobby, 3/5 for wifi.
Great place, excellent location. Very clean room with AC. Everything that you need right around the corner.
Lovely and polite staff who will accommodate your every need - in a manner you would expect from a place called happy. Yes, it’s a simple 3 star hotel without much charm, but if you’re after somewhere clean, functional and at an excellent value for money, Hapi Hotel is a safe haven from noisy Aswan.
Nice hotel with friend staff will visit again
This is a basic hotel. If you are looking for luxury than you may want to go elsewhere. But if basic is adequate for you, you are at the right place. The location is good for walking to the river and cruise ships. Here are all the plus points:>Friendly and helpful desk personnel during check in.I had made a mistake during my internet booking but Magid fixed it with a smile.>There is an elevator, always a plus.>We had a room with two beds facing the street with the usual chaos we expect in Egypt. The A/C muffled the noise. There are rooms with a Nile view which are considered very quiet.>Our room had a mini fridge which we stocked with drinks from the store next to the hotel.>The room and bathroom were very clean. The beds and pillows border on the firm side but we slept well.>There is a breakfast included and a friendly attendant takes care of you.The usual fare. Banana, rolls, jam, cheese, hard boiled egg....It was satisfactory.I am not hesitating giving the place 5 stars in the category of affordable hotels.
Nice hotels compared with price, new and simple decoration and design
This one was a step up from our first hotel. The room was clean. It had a balcony that overlooked the street below. It was on the third floor. It can be noisy so bring ear buds or plugs to drown out the night owls in the streets. We had a early morning and the hotel made nice sack lunches to take for the day that was included with the room. Bonus*
Nile view rooms are super small, the view of the Nile is blocked by a building in front of the hotel. The place is very noisy. Customer service is terrible and not helpful at all. Avoid this place
Horrible place, nothing accurate about it either on booking or google. Customer service is the worst, cheap poor breakfast even the nile view is blocked by old buildings. Rooms are super small. Not recommended at all
Great view when you get a Nile view room. Clean.
Nice hotel to stay in when you visit Aswan.Friendly staff and reasonable price with accepted quality of services.Breakfast is served from 7:00 am. To 10:00 am. & Is available for all guests.Hapi Hotel location is very good and closed to Cornish, downtown market and Train 🚆 main station.
Nice and good location in Aswan downtown.Just a little noisy nearby street during noon
Very nice hotel in the city center of Aswan. The price quality was excellent
How about Mediocre Wifi hotel or Noisy Hotel as better names? The Wifi in the room I was in- 207- wasn’t great and nonexistent for other members of our, G Adventures tour group. Thank GOD I had a air con/heater in my room, but others did not so froze. The heat is directed at the pillows though so it makes for an uncomfortable night. Also, you HAVE to leave it on bc there is so much street noise, and then barking dogs, at all hours of the night. No double-glazed windows to block out anything. The room is very clean though and it was GREAT to have proper hot showers after not having them at Pharaohs Hotel in Cairo. The room is also fairly large, and the pillows big and firm.
Really disappointed stay. We booked there because of the lonely planet recommendation and upgrade to a nile view room but the room was very tiny and the view was just ok. Beside that the window had at least a 1 inch gap that blowed cold air into the room so it was very hard to sleep at night. Breakfast was the only thing good about this place since it was tasty beans and a very nice view from the 6th floor.
No good cleaning service. Unexact information about the touristic information and lack of confidence in the clients claiming for paying everything before. Why to pay for services after receiving them?
Good value for money hotel. Bit noisy though.
After check-in, we went to our room which was clean for the most part but outdated and in need of a major renovation. After settling in, we went to the reception to inquire about local tours and pricing. We received options and pricing by the clerk who was on duty that evening. In the morning, we were greeted by two different clerks...Ana and another female who was her superior. We were told that the previous clerk was new and quoted us an incorrect amount. There was no apology or verification of information from the previous employee. Ana, who I spoke with initially was very dismissive and inflexible. I told Ana that usually whenever there is a discrepancy in pricing the lower amount is honored. She was still inflexible. I asked about getting a clothing iron to which she said that they did not have. Still very cold and dismissive. I decided at that time that I was not satisfied with the service and chose to check out. At this time, Anas superior decided to intervene. I told her that I was dissatisfied with the service and decided to check out. Suddenly, we were given a variety of tour options, the original price quoted was honored, received list with laundry services and room upgrade. Anas superior lied and said that I could not get a receipt for the 1 day stay. Unbeknownst to her, Ana handed it to me then tried to attack us to get it back after her superior spoke in Arabic and told her to take it back. We took a picture, handed it back, then left. Tourist police notified.
The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Comfortable rooms and great amenities. 👌🏻
This hotel was hands down one of the cleanest places we stayed at during our visit to Egypt. The lobby was very clean and there were hand sanitizers every where. The rooms were extremely clean as well. The washroom was outdated- our bathtub had a crack in it and it felt squishy underneath our feet. Apart from that our stay at this hotel was AMAZING. The hotel even made us complimentary breakfast boxes to take with us on our early morning tour. The front desk staff- Ibrahim was very helpful. He gave us many tour option packages and answered all our questions promptly. Will 100 % recommend.
Dirty, smelly. Extremely loud.... Neighborhood is awful - all night long someone would shout, scream and drive around. Even if you are staying for 1 night, please pay extra 20 dollars and look for another hotel in a better neightborhood. You will not sleep - no matter how tired you are... And the process of taking a shower - Overcoming the disgust.
Stayed here for one night, the location is good, breakfast included, hotel staff is friendly and helpful. They helped us book a tour to Abu Simbel Temple. The room was good, but a bit overpriced.
Great hotel in a great location!Super nice view from the restaurant on the 6 floor! Incredibly helpful and nice staff, special thanks to Crolos for sharing the local spirit and the trips that he organize for me was super nice! Definitely recommending!
Very good location at a fair price. The staff was really helpfull. Also they change our room (becuase of the noise from a nearby construction sitewith a better one with the same price. Totally recommend!
Good and very hospitable staff. They need to give some more love to tje rooms. Clean in General. Vfm for Aswan. They provide us what we ask at oir breakfast boxes. A bit noisy. Close to amenities. And places of interest. Ihed was great receptionist. The tall guy. Sorry if tje name is not 100%correct.
Thanks for the manager,Heba. she did her best to make us happy. The rooms are small and very old. It is cheap compared by 5 Stars hotel but for me adding a little bit money is better than staying there. They sent us to cleopatra hotel, the rooms size is bigger than Hapi but the place is old as well. In general sleeping 1or 2 nights is fine, but you need to spend all the day out side otherwise it is different to spend time in your room.
A very well located hotel, cozy and so neat with affordable prices. We were a large group but the staff was friendly and helpful always. Highly recommended.
A good hotel that is well located near the center of Aswan. Everything is nearby (like the market, train station, the corniche, etc..and most importantly it is affordable. Rooms are clean, staff are very nice and polite
Three stars for the room but five 🌟 for the very helpful staff. The location is good for coming from the train station and going to Abu Sembel (youll get an extra half hour of sleep compared to other locations)
Unbearable noise! If you are staying on the city side of the hotel, expect incessant dogs barking, people constantly shouting or talking under your balcony, horns beeping, loud music from cars cigarette smoke, under my balcony til 2am each night. Then loud again at 7am. I had specifically asked for a quiet room being sick in the first part of my trip and really needed rest. I was miserable fighting to get some sleep. They kept promising to change my room to the Nile side and each day told me nothing was available. This has ruined my trip feeling so exhauted from little sleep.I will say its very clean, otherwise terrible location for city side rooms!
Very good service and Reception staff particularly helpful and cheerful. Good size rooms, very clean. Lovely view over the Nile in breakfast room. Would recommend.
I stayed here for two nights with G adventures. The room and bathroom are nice; however the A/C unit kept making really loud noise and the breeze was at full blown the whole night. The view from the breakfast is really nice in the morning so don’t miss your breakfast!
Its acceptable hotel, the reception staff are good. The room acceptable for sleeping but the city view is very bad and if youre trying to reserve a room check for Nile view. The food is not good its very basic and less than basic.
4 stars . They tray to be better . Service very good . Breakfast is limited somehow but fair enoughStaff are perfect and high attituded . Room services in 5 mins by maximum very good comparing with big hotels
Rooms were very very small... May be thats what we get for the price we paid... Bathroom is also very tight... Internet is slow as a snail... Decent and helpful staff... Okay to stay for a couple nights... Advantage : located right next to a local market Street...
Very strange hotel, personal barely speaks English and our room was tiny. The bathroom was one big mess and disaster. The breakfast is far from great and employees werent nice. I would not recommend this hotel, especially not for the price we paid.On the plus side the taxi we got from the hotel was really nice and brought us all the way too Luxor. This is the only thing this hotel managed to get right.
Very nice hotel for low-budget travellers. Rooms are pretty clean but the AC is noisy and the bathroom is not as expected. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great, but I would not recommend a Nile-view room because it is only a partial, distorted view.
Very nice and recently fully renovated hotel. We were very well welcomed and the rooms are modern and confortable. Located on the centre. Breakfast in the roof top with a complete view on the Nile and town. No hesitation, best quality price of Aswan.
