Hansa Coffee Roasters - Coffee shop in Buffalo Grove, United States
Wonderful coffee place. It has only one comfortable seating area right at the entrance but it has a huge hall where folks can sit and work / study. They have good collection of coffee. We orderedBourbon Pecan Latte and Blueberry Muffin Latte. I requested for extra hot and girl who was making my coffee was very considerate and kind and made sure she gave us extra hot coffee. Unfortunately, the guy who took my order was not a kind of pleasing personality. We loved both the lattes we ordered. They have lot of things to sell too like, coffee beans, coffee machines, merchandise. Loved the place. Will definitely go back there.
Nothing to much out of the norm, thats kind of what I liked about it. Great pastries, friendly staff. Over all well managed business.
I think out of the handful of times Ive gotten coffee from here theyve only gotten my order right twice. Some of the employees are nice while others arent. Coffee tastes old and burnt, not like a quality Colombian coffee. They are good with giving you your order quickly and the atmosphere is nice as theres plenty seating.
Adequate drinks… coffee wasn’t great. Decent place to study but there weren’t many outlets available to charge laptop.
Come for the coffee, stay for the atmosphere! Hansa has great coffee (I got the Bourbon Pecan latte from their Fall 22 specialty menu), friendly, welcoming staff, and great vibes! Definitely worth a stop.
People are very nice and helpful, but the coffee isnt great if you like pour overs. It will get you by in a pinch, but it really doesnt compare to a lot of other options that are local. Newport is a good local example of better coffee. What it lacks in flavor, it makes up in cost. If youre looking for value, this is a good choice. If youre looking for an excellent cup of coffee, this probably isnt going to do it for you.Atmosphere is pretty good. You can come to hang out or study, or just read a book and its a comfortable place to be.Service is excellent. People are friendly and helpful. Really doesnt get better.
Fun place. Great coffee. Appreciate you guys!
Great environment to study and socialize. The staff are really nice. Sadly something about the cold brew taste off...
Driving into Hansa, it was refreshing to see something new. I love that they took a building that was not originally made for a coffee shop and made it work flawlessly. I ordered a cold brew with oat milk from a friendly barista whom was very patient with me, I wasnt disappointed with my choice. Though its an easy drink, I can be picky and it was smooth and strong, just how I enjoy it. Though I did not sit in the "garage" this time, it was very cool to see and loved that while they were packed it didnt seem hectic and everyone looked to be having a wonderful experience. Cant wait to go back and try out their tea and pastries.
Everything about our visit to Hansa was a delight. The lady who took our order was patient and kind. The order came out quickly and at the perfect temperatures. The drinks were not too sweet (something that bothers me elsewhere), but there was also sugar and simple syrup to the side for those who prefer a sweeter treat. I got a lovely chocolate croissant and my husband got the chocolate chip bread. Both were good, but I was especially impressed that the bread wasnt overly sweetened or greasy. Would gladly come back next time were in the area.
Awesome coffee with cool vibes. Worth a stop if you are in the area.
very cute and appealing little coffee shop, the atmosphere is perfect. the cashier told me I owed 531 pennies after I ordered.however, truthfully, Ive been here multiple times and ordered many different drinks, but Ive never gotten something that was good enough that Id want to order it again. I dont know if its the coffe itself or the add ons they use, but the flavor is always just slightly off. Their iced mocha uses the same Ghiradelli chocolate syrup every place uses, and has a strange aftertaste. Their iced vanilla latte is fine, but not super flavorful, and not very sweet either.
Definitely the best coffee shop in Libertyville. Great selection of drinks and plenty of seating.
Nice environment, friendly service
Cool and delish. Hansa has become a wonderful cafe with excellent made drinks that are worth the trip from wherever you are at. Stop by Hansa and try one of everything because they are crafted with care and delicious
Always great coffee and friendly staff. Inside seating is well situated for small group conversation.
Best coffee and most friendly and knowledgeable baristas in the area hands down. I just wish their management would allow the baristas to get tips on electronic sales.
Cute little coffee shop. Love spending time here on a sunny day - seating area has garage/bay doors that they open up to allow fresh air and natural light to come in.Great place to bring a laptop for personal work, or books for academic study.Great place to bring a friend to catch up!
Excellent coffee, lattes, cappuccinos and more created with love! Highly recommend!
An absolutely delightful experience with great service and great coffee
A top-shelf coffee oasis near the Metra station in downtown Libertyville, this friendly laid-back shop is as warm & welcoming as they come. I live near great coffeehouses in NJ, and live for the cafe experience -- Hansa Coffee has superb brewed coffees, a broad palette of coffee bean options to purchase, and tasty baked goods for whatever your preference. If I lived anywhere near this excellent cafe, it would likely become my "happy place". Its a genuine find!
Good tea, delicious donuts & good energy 💖
I have been buying coffee here for 10 years. I was denied service this week for not wearing cloth over my face - the only business to harass me in the last two years. I will not return. Its sad when businesses choose to discriminate based on ideology instead of being accepting.
super fun coffee shop! Katie and Rosey helped me when i was in! Katie made the most amazing drinks and both girls were super friendly and knowledgeable!! i had such an amazing experience can’t wait to come back
Hansa has great coffee drinks and even gluten free snacks and treats. The only thing that I wish they would change is they need to allow tips for the baristas on credit cards. It is very rare that I carry cash, and I feel bad that I cant tip on my credit card.
Love this place … the coffee is delicious.Great place to work if you hate working from home .
Generally have good experiences here, but the wifi has been consistently bad here for months. Even when the shop is almost empty my computer disconnects maybe every 10 minutes lol. Cant tell if the router is just too far away?
Very unique building, very cool..Honey latte was really good - not too sweet.Wanted to also try the pour over... maybe next time.
Good coffee! Nice selection of loose leaf teas for sale; bought Moroccan mint. Looked like there was a nice seating area, but we were heading to work and couldnt stay.
Some of the best tasting coffee I’ve had. The flavor is really rich, and not masked by excessive sugar in the lattes or the mocha. Great selection of pastries. The ambiance is also fantastic — kind of rustic, a lot more character than a lot of other cafes.
Great coffee shop! They have a lot of space to sit and relax. Love it when they open the garage doors! They also have such a wonderful selection of roasts. Great coffee if you enjoy more fruity and nutty flavors of coffee roasts. You are in for an experience if you think that dunkin or Starbucks is good coffee! This will blow your mind because you can actually taste the coffee instead of needing to mask the flavor with cream and sugar.
I bought some beans from them and got some great beans. Very flavorful and fresh! I didn’t explore the inside much but the vibe in there seemed chill. Would come back to hangout with friends and drink some great coffee.
I really enjoyed Hansa, the coffee was pretty decent, I had a Cappuccino, and the space it self was really well laid out. This place is pretty ideal for doing your work with plenty of outlets and spaces. It does have an interesting smell inside which I suppose is due to coffee being roasted in the vicinity. If you actually enjoy a good coffee, not just something like Starbucks, or want to experience a good espresso and all the delights that come with that then this is place that I would go. I can recommend and I do recommend. I would love to venture back whenever I get the chance and try more of what there extensive menu offers.(5 stars)Hansa is the coffee place to be from my experience in Mundelein and Libertyville, (Granted my experiences are few). ☺️👍 Thumbs Up
Very nice unique place! We got the chance to speak with the owner, Kevin! Such a nice guy! They definitely know the business and their coffee is the best!!!! You can drink their coffee while enjoying the great view of the river! We also loved Bourbon and Autumn lattes!
Coffee was excellent. Lavender shortbread cookies are awesome too. Lemon and zucchini cake was pretty tasty as well. Girlfriend got a scone, she was disappointed it was stale however. She did enjoy her tea. Drove all the way from Wisconsin to try them out, was definitely worth the 30 minute drive. Very clean and friendly environment. Best coffee around.
First and foremost, excellent sourcing and roasting. I’ve found really interesting beans here, and I’ve always been pleased with the roasting. Great cafe space and menu offerings. Honestly shocked to find coffee this good away from downtown, and it’s tucked away in downtown Libertyville.
Hansa is a really great coffee shop with excellent atmosphere, amazing employees, and a good selection of drinks. Their brewed coffee is a bit too acidic and lightly roasted for my taste, but their espresso drinks are really good and I enjoy their darker "Signum" blend. I would highly recommend this shop if youre meeting someone for a casual conversation, want to do some light reading, or just really need a cup of something warm and comforting.
The product, retail location and people are all amazing! I’ve had the pleasure of buying Hansa coffee for six years now from MI and my first visit to the retail store in Libertyville was the exact reason why we love this company. Great coffee with a touch of a hometown feel and first class taste / service! Kevin, Tom, Jan and Justine were superb hosts.
Woaw, what a place... where the coffee is beyond perfection!! The service was so good that I’m already planning to come here over again... good job guys!!! Its local coffee places like these that keep my faith in good coffee quality alive...
Very interesting coffee shop for coffee lover who enjoys coffee from all over the world and a variety of tea also very diverse patrons right across from the metra station and it is expanding from the first time I was there awesome young ladies truly remarkable service though opening hours arent your typical 5 or 5:30am.
This is a very nice coffee (and teashop that has taken over an old auto repair shop. It lets them roll up the doors in summer and let the breeze in. They have a constant rotation of single origin, and some blended coffees from all over the world that they roast fresh. They serve both specialty coffees and teas with excellent service. If you like good coffee and tea, this is the place to get it.😎
This Coffee shop makes me feel urban. The employees are personable. They have multiple types of milks to choose from and even vegan muffins.
Great atmosphere and high quality drinks! Personally, I dont drink coffee, but the hot chocolate was amazing, and everyone I go there with adores the coffee! All the employees are very pleasant and happy, Id even venture enough to say that they actually enjoy working there! And theres plenty of seating available
Excellent coffee-Macchiato perfection, helpful baristas, Chemex pour-over with freshly ground coffee. Hansa is a must visit.
Hansa roasts the best coffee in the area. I have been going here for years and have never been disappointed. Whether I order drip, pour-over, or a specialty drink, it is always great. Recently, I have been partial to their Flu Shot latte - delicious! The atmosphere is industrial, yet comfortable. Hansa is a great place to meet with people, get some work done, or just read a book.
Great coffee and they carry Holcomb hollow vegan/gf sweets. Comfortable spot to just hang out for a bit. They have a larger area in back they lend out for events. Went to a hear a speaker there.
Wonderful coffee experience! Staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and upbeat. The coffee was artistically poured with a perfect heart ❤️ foam design.I’m from PA, and finding this place was perfect for my trip. Will definitely be buying more of their coffee beans as well!
I love their coffee and the atmosphere is lovely; however their cupcakes and breads are very dry and not appetizing to eat. I got 2 cupcakes the peppermint and pumpkin chocolate chip and both were so dry. The only thing that was really good was their small fudge. I would come to visit again for the great coffee and lovely atmosphere.
In my book, Hansa and Conscious Cup would place one and two as best coffee roaster in the Chicagoland suburban area. Espresso quality of a coffee roaster is typically the foremost indicator I use to evaluate a shop, and Hansas is outstanding. Always a good pull, full of flavor, with delicious crema—appropriately served with sparkling water. The accessory products curated here are also worth noting. Take a seat inside during pleasant weather and the garage doors will be open.
My #1 for coffee. Very nice people, excellent coffee, relax atmosphere. Please do not pay Starbucks when you can have Hansa - the difference is humongous!!!!! :)
