It appears that the higher floors are being revamped. The first floor is a nice exhibit of cultural artefacts, and near the museum there is a traditional crafts exhibit that is just as interesting. It might seem a bit lacking right now, but I will make another visit later and give an update.

The building itself is interesting due to it being an unusual upside-down pyramid, but the interior has no permanent museum exhibits, as of this writing. Check ahead of time to see if there’s an exhibit to see. Otherwise, the exterior grounds are quite beautiful, & could be a pleasant walk in good weather. All free!

Google says its open. Actually its not (closed for renovations). A big museum like this should keep the opening hours updated online in my opinion

The Museum of Hanoi is located in Nam Từ Liêm district of Hanoi, Vietnam. The museum displays artifacts from Hanois 1000-year history and the history, culture, heritage, and architecture of Vietnam. It showcases over 50,000 artifacts in a total area of nearly 54,000 square meters.

Convenient location. The space inside is spacious, with parking spaces for both motorbikes and cars. However, there is almost no exhibiting space at all, but mainly used as the venue for events, seminars and overnight parking.

I came here while there is an exhibition of digitized masterpieces "Magister Raffaello".Thanks to current state-of-the-art technologies, the works are displayed in a chronological order marking the life and career milestones of the painter. The exhibition goes beyond the concept of a “multimedia production”, blending together scientific rigor, technological innovation and artistic talent, designed to have a unique emotional impact on visitors.Along the exhibition itinerary, the visitor will encounter a variety of media, including images, narrations and music, which provide a comprehensive experience of the artist’s genius and explain the essential place he holds within the History of Art.Last but not least, the plus point is the exhibition was freely open for audience to come :)

Beautiful museum with top notch design. The garden is well kept. If only they have a proper collection and exhibition calendar.

I think they might still be working on setting up this museum. Either that or its currently undergoing work, as a lot of it seemed less than organized. A lot of the displays dont have English explanations, and some dont even have Vietnamese explanations. Theres also a lot of empty areas, as well as an entire floor not accessible between floors, with visible work going on.So, if/when the work is done and the flow better arranged, I think it will be a better visit.

I walked to this “museum” since it was right next to my hotel... i used this term loosely since it only had the 1st floor exhibit open at the time of this review. The spiral walkway to access each floor was quite unique and there is a coffee shop on site... but outside of that there is really nothing of worth to see in it’s current state.I would wait for an update before spending your time making your way here to visit.

There are also a lot of old and beautiful artifacts and pottery. As I noted above, might be worth waiting this one out a bit, although entrance was free so nothing was lost.

Good building design for the ancient Chinese thought: square and round. But this museum is too small and too few people to visit, so maintenance is not so active.

Very interesting visit. Mostly all about the Vietnam war and invasion from the French and the negative impact and poor treatment to the people. It is very sad to see the hardships these people have been through from past invaders but also glad to see how Vietnam is showing positive signs of growth and prosperity. I would highly recommend a visit to Hanoi because it’s totally at the crossroads between modern and old style Vietnam.

Building of the museum itself is very interesting. Design is like reverse pyramid and it looks pretty awesome.Museum has got two basement floors , ground floor and three upper floors. Basement is just for some events so it leaves 4 floors for exhibitions.Currently only 2nd and 3rd floor are occupied.

Goods: Edgy building design, spacious, accessible even to people with disability, located outside of the Old Quarter but still easy to access (v good alternative for people whos getting bored staying in OQ)Bads: The exhibition needs to be made more appealing, or at least having a good story to tell. Every exhibit feels detached with each other and I feel like just wandering around with no aim.

Big, Spacious and continually developing. Their are usually some small activities down below such as Calligraphy, and another interactive exhibit on a middle floor. We take the students on field trips from time to time here due to the open space, feeling of silence, and the cultural heritage that they get to see.Plus outside theres a nice empty are to run around in.

Abandoned hollow place... It was designed as a super modern, super cool museum but now it looks terrible. Exposition is not interactive, not attractive, not interesting at all. One level is entirely closed. A half of lamps doesnt work. Poorly English translation. There is only one plus: its free.

Possibly the worst museum Ive been to. Mostly pots or vases in half lit or even completely unlit displays. Wife got shouted at for using a toilet!? Plus its miles from the old quarter with nothing near it. Nice building I guess but avoid, Hanoi has so many better things to do.
