Sandy, seasonal public beach with lifeguards & a popular clothing-optional area.
Nice space to visit in summer. It is a quiet place to chill out with friends and family.
Super chill, not awkward as I thought, everyone was super nice and it was a great vibe. Good music, lots of guys wandering around chatting and having a good time. Lots of eye candy without being over the top.
Very nice beach to enjoy in the Summer. Includes a clothing optional area.
Amazing place for enjoying the summer!
Very nice clean beach. Friendly people. Lovely view.
Great place to hang out with friends. There is a clothing optional area where you could throw your clothing, frisbee or football into the wind.
Great place for a swim and a tan. Just be careful, the sand gets hot! Lol.
An awesome beach for swimming with a great view of GTA skylines.Unlike what some may tell you the entire beach is NOT a nude beach. There is a limited Clothing Optional section that many signs on the Hanlons side of the islands will point to. The majority of the beach is clothing mandatory.Lifeguards are present at the areas where you are meant to swim. The waters are clean and warm!
Great beach we fought for to be nude, city council voted optional. If you want to be on the nude/optional side, be nude or your a str8 up creeper! Theres a million textile beaches, including next to the optional beach, go there.
One of my favourite beaches, the waters always fantastic. Great vibe and view of the city.
We accidentally went to the clothing option section with my two year old. It was fine, friendly people! But we didn’t stay long.Lost some stars for rocky beach & slight sewer smell.
Warning: this review is for the clothing mandatory area (southeast end toward the public bathroombut if you’re there when it’s busy expect to see several or many nude (mostly malepeople walking past along the shoreline. If you’re NOT OK with that you should probably go to one of the many other beaches on the Toronto Islands. Even though it’s not “technically permitted” it happens and there is no one there to really enforce it.Recently the beach has been restored and is absolutely stunning. There is lots of fresh deep sand with sand dunes and a shoreline that is great for swimming. If you plan to visit for the day/afternoon pack refreshments and food because there is nowhere close to buy food or drinks. You can get city drinking water from the bathrooms nearby. There are plenty of garbage and recycling bins everywhere so USE THEM and leave the place so everyone can enjoy
A mostly clean beach with amazing views for sunset! Be careful when walking on the shoreline as there are broken glass bottle pieces sometimes that are left behind. You dont want to have a medical emergency here as it is quite far from the centre island emergency room.
Beautiful little island with a chill crowd. Loved laying here and bumping tunes with my girl. I would definitely return. The sand was softer and cleaner than a lot of other beaches Ive been to around Toronto. Highly recommend this beach to anyone who is LGBTQ friendly and is okay with the nude beach area ;). Loved the water taxi and ferry ride there and back as well. A little bit of a mission..be prepared to walk to the beach area and pack smart. Definitely worth the stunning view of the 6ix from the island though!
Its a nice beach if you like youthful vibes. Take in mind this is a naked optional beach, in a gay friendly environment. I would say its NOT a place for children, but its up to you. Good place to take a sunbath, unfortunately the water of the Lake Ontario is not clean, so I wouldnt recommend to go inside the water.
I came here to get a tan! We looked for a place without nude ppl and then we saw it😅 But the weather and the temperature of the water were goooood! I had a good experience tho😀
Could be the best view in Toronto
A great little beach on Hanlans Island with the options for both clothing-optional and clothing-mandatory part of the beaches.. When in Toronto or living here, Hanlans Point is a must visit placeYou would have an amazing time here at any given point of the year. However, Id recommended going there on summers and spring as its the best time for beach trips!
One of my favourite spots to watch the sunset. Also my favourite beach in the city. It has a chill vibe, feels like you left Ontario without leaving Toronto.PS. A lot of people avoid this beach thinking its a nude beach 😉 but thats only a small area of the beach. Most of it is actually a clothing mandatory beach and youre completely separate from the nude portion.Take the hanlans point ferry here ($8 two way). The last ferry leaves at 11 pm, after that water taxis run but not sure till what time. ($12 bucks one way). There is only one snack bar on the beach which closes early.
The Toronto Island Beach(Hanland’s Pointis a small patch of sandy beach on the west side facing the citys western skyline view.On the weekends & holidays this place is packed. Also note this is the cities clothing optional beach.
You dont want to go there on weekends. It can get so crowded. You just have to know when to go. Weekdays is recommended.
Excellent, sandy, clothing optional beach.
I visited this beach for the first time not knowing part of it was nude beach and it turned into a bad experience, we went to the cloths mandatory beach but naked , old fat ugly guys keep coming to this side and walk around and one decided to lay there and play with himself and there was absolutely no gard or anyone to stop him. People were there with small kids and everyone felt so uncomfortable. He totally ruined a very nice day, I will never go back there as I dont think I can unseen some of the disgusting things I saw there today!
I find it way too busy on weekends so I try to limit my time there to weekdays and I am there whenever the weather cooperates since it my favourite escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and the sunsets there are often quite remarkable.Hanlan’s uniqueness amongst all public beaches in Ontario is an area has been designated ‘clothing optional’. That makes it the only place I can enjoy the sun, sand & water as I am most comfortable wearing nothing more than my own skin.Overall I love this place so much that, weather permitting, it is no surprise that I am there 2-3 days or more every week for the entire summer.
Great view and the beach is massive. Great inclusive space. I’ve had a few unpleasant experiences with catching dudes staring at my female friends and making them uncomfortable, in one case a woman caught at guy taking photos. I’d say those incidents are few and far between but want to mention it since the police situation there is precarious for those types of situations. As with any nude beach: Get naked, have fun, be kind, but just bit a bit mindful of who is around you.Best time: sunset. The view is breathtaking.
Seems like a nice beach, but didn’t really care for all the people walking around with no clothes on. Why do they always have to ruin nice places.
Specific beach where can be free like a bird by creating that merry merry world. Let those thoughts take place, yes pretty much without the Birthday suit 😏 Few months till spring but would all pay of.
Nice beach to pull up to when I’m on the water on a jet ski. Clean beach, a little rocky closer to the airport and shallow enough to walk out into the water a bit.
Minus the 1 really rude group of nudist and the people having an obnoxious rave closeby while we were trying to enjoy a beautiful outdoor performance it was a really nice first experience of Hanlans point.
Large beach on the Toronto Island. Clothing optional beach on the south part. Tide can come in quite high later in the day in the summer. Popular place for boats to anchor.
The beach was clean and it was a beautiful view! Perfect for hang outs, picnic and more! Would recommend! I’m definitely visiting again!
One of Torontos greatest outdoor space for our 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ community going back decades. Still a gem for anyone visiting Toronto or needing a more peaceful view of the city skyline from afar.
Very good place far from citys noise.... Very calming vibes.... Must bring towel amd some food.... Ur running clothes and tent may be.... Youll enjoy ur stay
Absolutely beautiful view of Toronto’s skyline from the beach. I find it most beautiful in summer but there’s something in every season to enjoy. Come here prepared for a nice, relaxing walk. Bring snacks for picnic as there are tons of places to eat and enjoy a picnic.
I stopped by Hanlans Point Beach because I really wanted to see the sunset! It was gorgeous ! Such a great view.
A beautiful place to spend the day - beaches, picnic, cedar maze - and all with the Toronto skyline as a backdrop.
Amazing place, beach with west facing ..perfect for sunset view.
Its relaxing, not a fan of the black sand. It seems to cling to everything. Never went into the water. Saw people swimming in the water, so it is ok to swim in it. Lots of space, if you have a lot of friends 😍😃
A very good beach to hang out with friends. Neat and clean. Clothing optional makes this place more interesting.
Always a safe and fun day! Dont let the blogs tell you what the media is told to say! Social distancing is followed. The water is clean and warm m the sand is definitely cleaner than Cherry Beach. Enjoy summer here!
Great beach, waters clean and some ladies and gentlemen have no cloths on ; )
Beautiful sandy beach with great youth vibe!!! Dont miss out on it during hot summer day!
Nice and clean beach, kind of quiet not so much people or noise, not kids around, few dogs (went on Friday probably weekends are more busy. All people very respectful and in the own business maybe +90% nude, is optional to wear clothes. Water was super cold even summer still on. Bathrooms from Mermaid coffee just outside entrance of the beach. Walking distance from Ferry is nice and not long.
Clothing optional beach located on the Toronto Island Park. Often busy on weekends, this stretch of beach has wonderful city views and clean sand. Good swimming area. Lots of fun for everyone, from swimming, tanning, throwing around a football or frisbee. Alcohol is not permitted on the beach but as long as you are discreet and behaved it is not severely enforced. Keep in mind that you will see fully nude folks and every once in a while there is some frisky business in the nearby wooded area. Excellent place to watch the air show or fireworks. There is a small seasonal grill just minutes away from the beach entrance where you can get cold beer. Take the frequent ferry service or water taxi over and spend the day.
There is a lot of different beaches here. So depends on what one you go to. There is the clothing optional or clothing mandatory beach. Both of them are good. We were actually only there to watch the air show planes practice and have dog go for a swim.
Love this place. Beware very little beach left.Very sad....no ferry also.
Love this place! One of the few clothing optional beaches where you can feel comfortable at any level of nudity. Great opportunity to escape the city and enjoy the outdoors...alone, with the husband or a bunch of friends.
Nice weather even in September. Big sandy beach and have shower at none nude part. lots of secret place to have fun it’s great for gays.At sandy part are lots of girls and family and few gays. Gays pars is in bushes and so great and full of fun. Thanks Canadian gays for hot hospitality.U should get ferry and pay 8 CAD to come here. It’s amazing place.
Finding the spot on the island was quite a pleasure even though it was quite hard to find given that there wasnt any hard path to follow. While it may be a clothing-optional beach most of the visitors were clothed with only maybe 2% of visitors embracing their birthday suits. I like that there was a lot of space to move around on the speech was very clean and amenable to minimal regulation so you could have a great time.
Hanlan’s point is well known as the clothing optional beach. Best way to get there is by taking a water taxi which only costs $10 and that way you skip the long lines at the ferry terminal. During weekdays is super calm and relaxed, nice getaway if you are looking forward to a peaceful location. All the islands are actually one divided in 3 which are Centre, Hanlan’s and Ward’s. Bike them all from one end to the other. Lake remains cold until August when it seems to get a bit warmer. Amazing views of TO Skyline can be appreciated on the way in and out. Go and visit One of my fave spots during summer in TO.
