Popular lookout point offering sweeping, panoramic views of the surrounding valley & lush hillside.
Great lookout of the Hanalei Valley
Very beautiful view of the valley. Its one of the places you dont want to miss if you are visiting kauai.
Just breathtaking! The view of the valley is amazing! I recommend making it one of your stops! There is usually plenty of room for several cars to pull in and most folks stopping are only there a few minutes to take some pics!
Beautiful place to stop and just take in Gods creation
Beautiful lookout! 🍻@nothin_but_views
Great opportunity to see a sublime view of the Hanalei Valley by just driving to the parking lot! We were driving up to Limahuli Garden & Preserve National Tropical Botanical Garden and the lookout is along the way. I wouldn’t have driven an hour just to see the lookout in and of itself, but it was a bonus sight along our journey!
One of the most amazing views. If you are in the Princeville area its worth a look.
Hanalei Valley Lookout is spectacular. Beautiful green lush valley with the green mountains in the background. Just beautiful!
Very cool spot for a 2 min look
I mean, the photos everyones posted speak for themselves. Absolutely incredible views right along the road.
Jurassic Park! Tremendous views of the canyon and surrounding areas. Waterfalls that will remind you of a scene from the Jurassic movies. Sheer beauty and wonderful views.
So pretty. Stop and take pictures
Gorgeous views of the valley below. The clouds are always moving so you can get great pictures of the peaks. Only thing that may be an issue is parking, as it is a pull-off of the main road and some people drive/park like jerks. Just be aware of the surroundings
A great and FREE photo opp! It is an easy stop if you are taking 560 going East. If you are going West, you may need to pull some tricky maneuvering, but it is doable.
Nice descriptive signs and a great view. Slightly hard to pull out off depending on traffic
Amazing spot for photos!
Gorgeous lookout over a beautiful piece of the island. Happened to be sharing the lookout with a mama hen and her babies. Gotta love nature!
Great spot for a quick stop to see the valley below.
Scenic views of the valley.
Decent place to stop, take some photos of the farms, river, and mountains with high waterfalls.
Need a place to stretch your legs after a long drive? This place is where to be. Not only will you get some fresh air but you this vista point is beautiful place to take a family picture or a selfie. Dont forget to say "hi" to Heihei.
Great stop to see the beautiful Hanalei Valley. Can get busy so be careful pulling over and watch for cars when leaving.
A lookout overlooking heavenly mountain with clouds and farms in the valley..
The panoramic view from this spot is fabulous. Binoculars, of course, would be a great help to see even more. However, it is more than just a beautiful landscape. This is an important agricultural site as long as people live here. The most significant area to look at is Taro fields which are composed of many agricultural parcels. This is a principal crop for Native Hawaian people and it is grown whole year around. Hawaiians believe that the taro plant is sacred. In Hawaiian, it is called "kalo". Taro is a tropical root vegetable that can be consumed in many ways. There are taro chips, flour, pancakes, hummus and bread. Also, it can be baked. But the most popular way is to mash taro root into a paste, great alternative to potatoes. Great stop to learn about Hawaian culture.
Has parking, a nice quick stop. Great views
Such an amazing view, it really felt magical to just sit on the rail and take in the sites of the fields and mountains.
Just perfect! We waited to get there for our last day in the island and it didnt disappoint. Beautiful scenary, beach perfect for swimming and surfers were having fun too.
Hanalei Valley Lookout was a truly spectacular sight to behold. Hanalei River Valley is beautiful, and when you get colors in the sky above, its just magical!
This is a beautiful view thats easy to get too and a quick stop capture an amazing view of the Hanalei Valley before heading into it or coming out of the valley. You only need to spend about 5mins here to see all the beauty. Princeville shopping center is located just a short distance form the look out which makes for good eating and shopping.Definitely check it out them head down into the town of Hanalei for some very good eats and beautiful beaches
A breathtaking point overlooking lush taro fields and vegetation with misty peaks forming a backdrop. This beauty spot was the end of our journey, as a mudslide had closed the road beyond that point for us, but these fields offered a fascinating peak at the Garden Isles farming history.
Must see. Beautiful view!
Beautiful spot. Make sure you stop and take in the taro fields below.
I would highly encourage a quick stop in this lookout to take in the beautiful views on the Norths interior and in particular taro fields. Then, you can proceed to Hanalei and beyond to explore the wild North of the island.
Looking at pics of how it looks now vs 2018 its still so beautiful like I remember. Green landscapes and rainy weather. Chickens hanging out everywhere. Loved it.
This is a spectacular view of the valley and the farming and irrigation of the area.
Spectacular views of the wildlife refuge and taro fields, waterfalls etc. Misty sunsets are incredibly beautiful.
Reminds me of the beautiful island of the Philippines. My husband and I chilled here for a bit while we ate our ice cream!
Beautiful lookout. It’s everything you’d ever imagine Kaua’i could be. The waterfall views are amazing after a recent rain.
Limited parking but a great spot to look at the Hanalei Valley. Beautiful panoramic views of the rice and taro fields. Great for a couple of quick pictures.
It really is worth to take a stop at the scenic point
Beautiful view of farmland in the valley below. Well worth a 5 min stop on the way out of Hanalei
Filled with amazing water falls and colorful rainbows, see why everyone that went to Hanalei Valley Lookout says its amazing!
Breathtaking still at a loss for words. The ocean breeze hits you and the fresh air is nothing like Ive ever felt. Theres absolutely zero pollution on Kauai.
Great place to stop and grab some photos of Hanalei Valley.
This is a beautiful, scenic place. Watch for the signs because the parking is in a small area right next to the road. Needless to say, be careful when pulling in and out due to traffic. You will most likely see one of the ever-present roosters like the one below :These photos were taken in 2015. When we went back this year, the bushes and trees have grown quite a bit so you cant see as much of the valley as you could several years ago. However, its still worth the stop.
definitely worth your time if you are in the area. great photo spot
Used to be 5 stars (★★★★★but now 3 stars because growing bushes and trees are in the way to see great views! Well, its still good but as compared to 2008 picture, much less Taro field can be seen. So County? please trim trees well for better views.
Decent place for a quick stop and a quick photo. The island is full of viewpoints like this though so its really up to you to make the detour.
5 star view, 3 star setup. If its not too busy its a great spot. And even when busy its worth the stop. Can get a little crazy when busy though, just be careful getting in and out.
Nice location. This overlooks the location the opening scene of Uncommon Valor was shot.
