C. Sta. Ana, 16, 18009 Granada, Spain, Granada
Peaceful venue featuring traditional Turkish baths ranging from cold-hot, plus other spa services.
Front desk staff was helpful but once you are in the bath is not organize I just left today and one of the masseur was rude and the other masseurs try to cover for her. I went there with a big group but it dint live up to the vibe at least this location
100% recommend this experience. We did an hour massage and an hour in the bathhouse. So special and unique.
Feels Incredibly commercial (spoiler, it isand like you’re being prodded through a conveyor belt. From the first steps in the door we and the people next to us were scolded for not waiting at the proper level of the stairs. Then we joined a small room of 5 other parties where our circuit began. We were pulled early from the baths because a slot had opened up early for a massage that was more of a gentle rubbing of hands. The staff whispered amongst themselves the whole time which was incredibly unnerving. There were two adjacent massage areas that we could literally see into and hear, through what were partitions more than walls. We were then told we could return to the baths, covered in oil, to soak in the tepid, thigh deep pools. The baths were aesthetically pleasing enough with the lights down low and yea candles distributed around. But overall I found myself regretting the entire thing.
Really recommend this after a long day at the Alhambra. It’s perfect. And I even messed up our reservation time, and the colleagues were so kind as to completely accommodate us. It was an amazing experience.
Staff very helpful, made us feel very welcome and relaxed. I can highly recommend the massage aswell as the baths and sauna.
One of the absolute worst experiences I have ever had in a Hammam :(, and I had multiple hammams in multiple countries. I have literally had a local hammam in Jordan for $15 that was better than this one!and a big waste of money as this was not cheap (I paid $145)I took their full package (access + scrub + massage)and all the above were disappointing. The place is not organized, the temp of the hot water pool and the medium water pool are the same. Steam room lacks heat. The scrub was very basic ( maybe because i had an 80-pound lady trying to scrubthere was no pressure at all. and the massage was basically here move her hands on my body without hitting any knots or adding pressure.... I will definitely not be back and will advice everyone to avoid this place
This was such an incredible experience! In many ways this was an immersive Alhambra - low arched doorways into candlelit, rectangular rooms with high, beautifully tiled walls. You soak in hot, medium and cold pools and a steam room, everyone together in swim suits unlike other traditional bathhouses. The massages of warm water, foam and deep tissue are relaxing and sensory. Dont miss it!
Nice ambiance for relaxing, an experience worth trying out. Downside: limited time slots of 1.5 hours including massage is too short. And for certain times you are forced to take a massage, which was ok but nothing special.
It was beautiful and relaxing and special - all 4 of us loved it. When we left my husband said he was sending me to massage school 😆. It was recommended to us by 3 other friends.
Massage is not goodPool is smallTea is goodI’m waiting to do massage around more than half hourMy massage is for 15 min, they did less than that
I dont feel the website for this place does them any favours as it is all vibe, giving almost no info on what to expect when you arrive. The impression we got online before visiting this hammam was that, although it seemed maybe the most authentic traditional baths, it was likely to be quite large and busy. From some photos, we were expecting there may even be tourists walking around clothed, while others were bathing. Fortunately, this was not the case! We were very pleasantly surprised to find it very calm, peaceful and intimate. We would definitely go again. If you do choose to have a massage these are done in a public space, although in a separate area to the baths. But you are in your own cosy alcove and it certainly manages to convey a much better feeling of calm and intimacy than we expected.
Unfortunately a tourist trapWe were so excited to go and even thought of going later to the one in cordoba, but were so disappointed+ beautiful location+ friendly staff+ late opening hours- changing rooms cramped with people / baths very full as well- couples massage - catastrophic:6 people in one room separate by see through room dividers, coming and going at different times, therefore loud, music extremely loud, very cold as you keep your wet bathing suits on and lie under an air condition , Not professional masseurs, very soft, not trained to discover knots.- timing, you get picked out anytime for a massage, so you can’t relax as you might get picked the next second
Magical place , beautiful lights and decoration. A great place to relax and dosconnect from everything. Staff friendly and attentive. Recommended to take a massage session. One thing : disrispectfull clients talk in loud voice…. Wish they enforce silent.
Too much clients inside using all bath and service, staff is nice and helpful, but they walk around all the time in and out, water not not enough even they said that hot and the water is not natural , smell swiming pool, place old beautiful and should be peaceful but not, too busy everywhere, massage not professional, but the grill already do her best I knew, sorry for her.If this business owner separate time for only tourist take photo, I think for the tourist is better because they only want take photo, no need go in the water and not enjoy this.Never will go to tourist commercial , the small business run with family in Spain is super, home food, hand made bag, small village, local people.......Love Spain,
Amazing experience. Great customer service. Wonderful baths and very relaxing massage. Would come again if we were staying in Granada longer!
An incredible experience. I 100% recommend visiting this place. It is like being transported to another world. The burnt orange walls & the blue tiles are beautiful & the whole place is dimly lit with candles & aromas of essential oils. There are 5 separate pools of varying heat & a steam room. My only complaint was it wasnt enough time. We paid extra for a 30 minute massage & assumed this would be on top of the 1 & a half hours allotted time in the spa. This was not the case & 1 hour is simply not enough time to fully appreciate its beauty & benefits.
The place is good, however you only get exactly 2 hours and massage was included with no time reference, that was not clear at the beginning so we missed the sauna
The place is quite beautiful. We went there after visiting the Alhambra and since itll take a bit of effort walking around this amazing monument, its a very good combination. However we took the 15min massage which was not that good, Id recommend going for the 30min at least
Really authentic, cool and calming experience.. I choosed the 45 mins bath + exfoliation and 15 mins massage and that was pretty right although I would of love to have more time for a massage .. the atmosphere is so relaxing and the service is excellent, tea is provided with/without sugar and every detail for the after shower is there..from deodorant, oils for the body, dryer GHD , night cream .. 👍It s a excellent treat for the soul !
I’ve been coming to Hammam Alandalus for 8 or more years, and every year it gets worse.Years ago the music was lovely, now it’s very weird! Why is there jazz in an Arabian hammam? and why does the music end very fast? honestly this is very annoying, it doesn’t allow you to be connected with the place. Before the pandemic, there was shoe covers and the place was very clean, now it’s dirty. Even the cups for the tea don’t feel clean. The new upstairs area for the massages is not nice at all. Also, I was very sad when the reception room changed. It’s very hippie modern, does bot go with the Arabian theme. This is very sad for me to write, because I was the biggest fan of this place, I loved it so much! I’m hope it can go back to being amazing, it just needs better standards because the building and the idea of the place are all wonderful.
The staff was very accommodating as I booked last minute and had a train to catch. On the other hand, this is the first hammam I heard about where you need a bath suit.It felt like a spa rather than a real hammam. Where is the steam room (thats kind of what a hammam is all about?Nothing like the experience of a high end hamam like Kılıç Ali Paşa Hamam in Instanbul.
Definitely worth a visit to experience the atmospheric baths which a dimly lit with lots of mosaic tiles everywhere. Lovely ceilings. You get a cup of turkish tea and the 30 minute massage was of a high standard.
We booked a 1.5 hour package which included the baths, scrub and massage. Although the space is beautiful we unfortunately didn’t have a pleasant experience. Firstly, the baths were overcrowded with people talking loudly with young children jumping in and out of the water, treating it like a swimming pool which made it hard to relax. Secondly, we only had 5 minutes in the baths before we were rushed off to have our scrub and massage. It seemed quite chaotic at times, not what you would expect in a place of relaxation. In the end, we only spent 1 hour in total (rather than the 1.5 hours which we paid a very expensive price for). We suggest that they allow fewer people in the baths at one time and focus on better managing the timeliness of the experience for each client.
Hi There,I have been at the Hammam Al Andalus baths long ago and I was amazed by the beauty of it. That is the reason we wanted to come back again on our next visit to Granada. The welcoming was charming, it makes you feel important as the staff members were greeting you and explaining what to do once you arrive.Facilities to change your clothes and keep your belongings very tidy and organised (very safe as the lockers are electric with a combination code of your choice)The baths had a historical character which totally brings you back in time, you do have cold one (not very popular🥶), hot, mild and the sauna were great and very clean as the staff was making sure everything look spotless all the time. Also you could enjoy a cup of tea while you were there. The only reason I got a bit disappointed is that it felt very busy with other couples up and down all the time and sometimes we could not even fit in the baths as it was full so we were skipping those for later. I believe this is an important fact to keep it exclusive with a smaller guest number at certain times. Also we booked a 30’ relaxing massage which was very very average, I would rather someone who does know what they are doing..
Just loved this experienceThe rituals are nice with hand washingAs you enter into this step back in history of the baths , kind of feel like Alice in wonderland down the rabbit hole 😊The 4 different temperature pools all unique in there own rightThe large steam roomAnd massages excellentA little peppermint tea stationAll extremely clean and well run
The pools were beautiful and very atmospheric. Massages were mediocre at best, very gentle tickling. Would have been happier just to go into the baths.
Really nice and relaxing as always. I paid for an hours massage however...and it was only about 40-45 mins which was disappointing, if I wanted that I would have booked the 45 package.
Had a wonderful time in the spa, the baths were calm and relaxing and the staff were very helpful, organised and friendly. We had booked a 30 minute massage session, Juan was an excellent masseuse, it was definitely worthwhile.
I booked a massage with access to the pools. Place and pools are smaller than it appears online. From what i could see massages were all in one room with people getting their massages next to you. As you could hear people next to you this wasnt a relaxing experience at all.
Great experience! Definitely worth doing. I did the Midra 45 (45 minutes of soaking in the baths, 15 minutes Kessa [full body exfoliation], and 30 minute massage). I am 5 months pregnant and they were very attentive to my needs. The front made recommendations on which areas to avoid (the steam room). They have 4 bath areas (cold, lukewarm, warm and steamand you can venture in and out of each bath as you please. It was not overly crowded. They also have free tea and water as needed. The Kessa was amazing, my skin was silky smooth after. The masseuse was also attentive to my needs and allowed me to be massaged on my sides and asked about comfort with water temperature and pressure, etc. My husband also highly enjoyed his time.
The baths and atmosphere were e great. I thoroughly enjoyed the waters but the massage was awful—a waste of $$$. I’m not sure what that was but it wasn’t a massage. A two year old could have given me a massage better. Also she kept whispering to someone. I give zero stars for massage and 4 for the baths. I want a refund for my massage—- it was a complete joke and disappointment. I had an amazing massage at a Hammam in Valencia but this place is criminal to even offer massage — it should be called ‘apply cream’
The best hammam experience I’ve ever had. Went for the midnight massage, and I honestly was so relaxed that it felt like I left planet earth. Ana was an angel sent from heaven above with the divine gift of touch. There wasn’t a second I felt uncomfortable or tense, she was just exceptional with her hands and gave me a full sensory experience with oils, water, and traditional massage techniques. The baths themselves are so beautiful, and just the cherry on top of the entire experience. I honestly can’t believe how great of an experience I had here — Turkish baths do not even compare. Highly recommend, and ask for Ana.
Sadly didnt have a great experience. From start to finish this was not a relaxing place -- the staff is very frantic and rigid (for example, the main attendant frantically walked back and forth thru the baths the entire time I was there), and the process is very rigid too (they werent able to answer how much time could be spent in the baths nor when my massage would be, but they were very clear when it was over and the guests needed to leave). The setting is very nice, though nothing spectacular. This feels like a tourist mill that runs on efficiency above all. Ive been to much better baths and spas in many other places, and I recommend saving your money and going elsewhere.
Excellent ancient themed place to unwind in quiet soaking pools and get a wonderful screened oil massage. Will go again. Needs a smoother entrance process, maybe 4 people at a time instead of 1 or 2.
Certainly a pleasant experience, very much a treat and lovely front of house staff but just a little spoiled by it not being completely clear where to go at all times (it was explained at he start but there were a few people not sure what to do nextand sadly - through no fault of the staff of course - a loud American couple groaning with pleasure as we were in the massage room. There are other places to go for that, folks... !
I messed up and got my time wrong and they were very accommodating rescheduling me, which was incredibly kind! I had a marvelous massage and time lounging in the baths. I went late (11:30and there were a few times I had entire baths to myself. Antonio was my masseuse and he did a great job with my back. The complimentary spa items/shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom are very nice. Very relaxing after a week of walking!
The most amazing experience. Strongly recommend. It felt like stepping back in time and into a different world. Dim underground corridors with baths of various temperatures. Hanging stars and sky lights above you as you soak in the comforting warmth of the waters. We also had a massage there - really enjoyed it. Much gentler and smoother than the Thai massages Im used to, but in a good way. Thank you Davida (I think that was your namefor the beautiful massage!
Wonderful experience top to bottom. The employees are very clear and considerate and lead you closely throughout the whole experience. The massage I got was fantastic and my masseuse was sure to check in with me often to make sure I was comfortable. The inside is absolutely stunning, we sat in the baths and stared at the intricate ceilings, completely blissed out. Must visit when youre in Granada
In summary; the ambiance was amazing, I did not like the water ritual at all, and the massage was terrible. All the details are below. The ambiance and reception when you enter is very nice. They speak Spanish primarily (obviouslybut were able to communicate with us in English moderately. We only sat for about 5 - 10 minutes in the waiting area before they came and washed our hands with scented oil and took us back. The attendant showed me the towel return and where you can grab a small bag for your wet suit, then the sinks/mirrors/hair dryers, then the toilets, lockers, and showers. From there, there were a lot of directions and I got a little confused, but was able to work it out. You set your locker using a 4-digit pin, change into your suit (and bring the towel they gave youand use the bathroom if needed before heading up the stairs. It was a little chaotic in there, and a lot of people were confused, but the employees pass through frequently, so you can ask for help if needed.Once upstairs, an employee is waiting to greet you and will give you a tour of the baths. The cold room is first. The air is slightly chill and the shallow pool in there actually had little bits of ice floating in it while we were there! Then you go into the steam/warm rooms. The next room has green tea for you to drink which they refresh frequently as well as drinkable water from a spout and an explanation of the scented oils. There are 3 total baths in the warm/steamy area. The first two you see upon entering from the cold room are both the hot tubs, and the attendant told us they are the same temperature. The third tub, all the way back and connected to the shower/massage area is the medium warm tub. After that, he showed us where the showers are and specified that it is very important, we must shower before the bath (with swimsuits onsince this is a very open and mixed-gender area.I asked if you need to wash your face and hair as well, and he said it is up to you. I went ahead and did my face and hair, but you dont need to get your hair wet at any time if you dont want to.Beyond that is the massage and ritual area, where you will be called If you booked either of those packages, as indicated by the bracelet you were given when you checked in.It was recommended to do the medium tub, then the hot, then the cold, so we prepared to take his advice! However, as soon as we got intonthe tub the card us both out for our spa services. They dont guarantee you can go together, so it was awesome that we were able to go at the same time.We booked the MIDRA 45
Went for a spa night the day before leaving to go home. Picked the bath-scrub-massage combo and went at 8 pm. The place is stunningly beautiful- just as pictured in the photos. Candles, soothing music, light scents, and the sound of water. The pools were amazing, but the scrub and massage were just what I needed. Was so relaxed and invigorated at the same time, if that makes sense. Felt totally safe and pampered the whole time. The lovely young man that did my scrub and massage was so kind and respectful. Absolutely would do this again!!?
We went late at night after finishing the Granada half-marathon and it was amazing. Great staff and experience throughout. We hobbled in and floated out. Super experience.
This was probably the highlight of our holiday. It was fantastic! Staff is very friendly. They make it a whole experience, from entry to end. We are already checking when we can go again. Highly recommend going here!
A highly recommended experience. It was our last stop during the trip, and after days of walking, it was just heaven. It felt like out of One Thousand and One Nights. Exactly how I imagined a hammam. The staff was very nice, guiding us through the experience. There was a variety of pools with different temperature of water, and a steam room as well. No need to bring towels or any cosmetics. The only drawback was the changing room; when everyone got out at the same time, it was a bit difficult to approach my locker.I took zero pictures, was too busy relaxing and enjoying myself :-)
Fantastic interior, good massage, I was forgotten about by the host so accidentally stayed an hour longer. Would have been nice if one of the two hot pools was even hotter. Overall a pleasant experience. Dont go thinking itll be like the Turkish baths in Turkey!
Really great experience, especially during the evening.Unfortunately, we think we caught an illness from another guest that kept coughing in the pools.Wished that the staff would encourage other guests to speak quietly as it was disturbing to have a massage with a large group of people chatting in the showers in the next area.
Apart from the building and amenities being absolutely spectacular, the staff (especially Maria Josewere exceptional. I was disappointed upon arrival because there were a lot of other guests being loud (not respecting the quiet atmosphereand the staff handled the situation with the best customer service I’ve experienced in Spain. I cannot recommend this place enough. Very kind, amazing spa, great massage and caring and attentive staff. Don’t miss out on this gem in Granada
This place was recommended to me, and was told that if I had time, to definitely come here. Going here was by far the highlight of my trip to Granada. It was much needed after traveling around Spain for three weeks. I wish I would have upgraded the experience to one of the rituals. I ended up getting a massage. If you like steam rooms, they have the best steam room of all time!
First off, please know that when booking, this is a very commercialized experience, with that being said, I highly recommend visiting. At first it felt very rushed; however, once we received our massages we were felt less rushed and enjoyed relaxing around the pools and hot stone. It is absolutely beautiful. Such a unique experience. It is not like a traditional Turkish bath, but it is super cool and we will be back. Also, I had the absolute best massage there. Definitely recommend.
It was the first experience for me and my wife. We choose massage as an extra option. This place it was recomanded by many people. I will always keep going in this place. "Is not about DESTINATION is about the JOURNEY". Be ready for your best experience.
We had a good time here. Our stay included 30 minutes massage which where good. The place make you feel like you stay some hundred years ago. Professional in all ways. We ordered by phone the same night. What takes it down is that it’s a bit of a traffic machine. I understand that you can’t make it all individual but I felt it like that.
