Lovely customer care but fish bites was more batter than fish an also add a twang of old oil and needed changing

Delicious fish and chips (needed a bit more seasoning - personal preferencebut huge portions of chips and the fish was super crispy and delicious. They were so hospitable and friendly and gave us extras for free! The curry sauce was the best I’ve ever had from a chip shop! Highly recommended!

We are regular customers to this family run restaurant. Its great value for money with high quality food. It reminds me of home food thats made with love. The staff are always smiling and helpful.

Great food! One of the best cheese burgers I’ve had in a while and for a chip shop their chips are beautifully cooked! Amazing service, in particular Armin was extremely attentive. Highly recommended.

The guys at Hamblins could not have been friendlier or more generous and kind. A sausage for my dog and their wonderful home-made tatar sauce as well as cups of feezer cold sparkling water on a sweltering day. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Fish was to die for and to say portion sizes are extremely generous is an understatement. Chips could have been cooked a tiny bit longer but Im quibbling.

The food and service is always first class. They go the extra mile to resolve problems even when they arent things they can directly control.

Really nice chippy with friendly service. I got the large battered sausage with chips and curry gravy. Neither the chips nor batter were greasy and its very well priced, its everything what you hope for from a traditional chippy! Will be going again. Not a criticism, as very few carry it these days, but I just wish more fish and chip shops did Rock (which is actually dogfish). It used to be common but I guess they all stopped selling it as it wasnt worth keeping because it wasnt often chosen, everyone wants cod but its vastly superior to cod. Maybe one day!

Been using hamblins since moving to the area. Its always really good. Huge portions, beautiful batter and amazing homemade sauces. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. A true corner-store of the community.

An absolute local favourite. Nothing like an authentic fish and chip shop to treat yourself with. Their food menu has a wide range of meal deals. Everything is fresh and homemade which is packed with flavour. They have great customer service with friendly staff. They have an exclusive opening times so be sure to get yourself in time.

Went in just before they were closing at 2pm, had sausage, chips with gravy that I can only describe as homemade, absolutely beautiful, would highly recommend, super friendly owner and staff who took the time to explain about the banksy over the road, would highly recommend this place over all :)

I just happened to be passing this place and nipped in for some eats. Had the Seafood Basket, which was great. Everything cooked fresh and not dripping in grease. I just wish I lived over that side of the country so that I could visit more often (or maybe you could branch out and open another place on the South East Coast???).

In my opinion best f&c in the town. Four different fish to be chosen, chips are thick and tasty. You can order by phone and collect in person. Pity they are closed 12am-5pm

I have three local chips and fish shops a stones throw from the house, but Id make the trip to Hamblins each and every time now Ive tried it. Chips were crispy yet fluffy and without being saturated in grease, same for the sausie batter just spot on. Really friendly service and amazingly good value for money! Check. It. Out!!

Went here after reading all the great reviews, unfortunately this place is average at best.. The fish tasted bitter from the bad frying oil. Terrible taste, it might have just been a one-off that they didn’t change the oil, but the chips weren’t that great either and the mushy peas were bland.

One of the best fish and chips Ive ever had! All freshly cooked to order on collection and the fish was incredible.

I enjoyed the fish & chips. Nice big pieces of snow white cod & good mushy peas. However my daughter did not like the curry sauce at all, it was weird not like chip shop curry sauce at all.

This is such a great Fish n’ Shop. I’ve been using this for a number of years and the fish and the chips are always cooked fresh. The staff are really friendly. I often go for haddock when it’s available and each time the fish is cooked to perfection. The prices are very reasonable and being a local resident of St George, it’s so convenient to get to. I have phoned orders through in the past and this has saved time. Friends have also been there and enjoyed their takeaway. Keep up the great service and food.

The best chips I’ve ever tasted, perfect! My chicken burger was huge too, and really good quality! Good fresh salad fillings, and a great choice of sauces to go inside as well. Loads of choices for drinks, and really friendly staff members too. Great experience all round, and I will be back with the family soon for more great food. Thanks! :-)
