Ham Rong Mountain, Sapa - Tourist attraction in Yen Bai, Vietnam
Ham Rong Mountain, Sapa in Yen Bai
Description
Privilege
Nice view of sapa town
Do not waste your time here. You have to pay a 70k fee to enter and the whole place is running down! Nothing much to see or do.
MoreI recommend skipping this self-proclaimed nature reserve or botanical garden. Poorly maintained and lots of large misplaced statues.
MoreBeautiful. Easy climb up. Worth the overlook on Sapa and the valley.
Came completely unprepared for this event. Shoes that had no grip, in torrential rain and fading light. Reached the top in a crazed panic, drenched through. Relieved to have found my way back. Dont climb solo after 445pm around March if you cant read Vietnamese as you may get lost. Great fun
MoreNice gardens to take an evening stroll while visiting Sa Pa.
The road to reach the mount might be hard, but the view is unbeliavable! And that sense of accomplishment!
MoreThe place is very nice during the week when there are no people, it gets very busy and noisy on weekends. Also, there is a lot of encroachment and cutting of trees. Great spot for birdwatching.
MoreGood natural views
Good and nice place for the weekend
Like the Marble Mountain in Da Nang, Ham Rong Mountain, as an attraction, caters to tourists with artificial landscapes and paved paths. When I got there in the morning, loud Vietnamese music was being played, which I didnt like. Still, I gave it four stars because of the interesting paths and side roads (if you dont follow a map), as well as the massive variety of butterflies, bees and beetles. Its an easy enough climb (all stairs), but the steps are uneven and rocky so Ill recommend proper shoes.
MoreAmazing place to chill and make a foto. Easy to catch the top from the city.
A cool place, temperature wise, and a relaxing place with some fun statues (like Tom and Jerry, a tiger, and Scooby Dooalongside lots of plants and flowers, and well maintained paths. You will probably see lots of elderly women doing slow, careful exercise, and you might be invited to join in.
MoreNeed more signs in English to show where the viewing platforms are. We had to go through this rock maze to get to it. Once you get up there you get an amazing view of the whole city & mountains. The gardens are nice.
MoreLovely spot to climb, no obvious signs so get a map if you can. Some rubbish around but overall well looked after. Beautiful gardens and beautiful view.
MoreThe upper region was a highlight of my trip for bird watching. The city looks magical when it’s drenched in fog. Only go if there are occasional cloud breaks, otherwise it would be difficult to see much. Finally, why is it called a nature preserve? What nature is it preserving? It’s mostly a manicured park that has plantings and agriculture, only limited areas have native species. Not an accurate label..
MoreVery nice view on Sapa
Beautiful garden, worth to visit when youre in Sapa Town. A lot of rock formations, plants and weird statues from various cartoons. There are few places to sit, buy some drink and chill. There must be also an amazing view from the top, but there was a lot of fog, when were there so didnt see much of the view.
MoreThe view from the way to mountain is so fantastic! Lovely people! The mountain always in the fog. Sapa is the town in cloud.
More70k adult ticket price for an amazing experience, dont miss this attraction even on a foggy day its well worth it. Climb all the way to the top for some stunning nature scenery.
MoreGood place to see & feel the whole sapa city.
Nice and quiet place to explore. Need to pay entrance fee of 70.000 per pax, not too bad. Place is clean and the view from the look-out (follow “cloud yard” to get thereis great and provides a nice view over the city of Sapa. Paths are well maintained (but slippery when wet), and mostly stairs. Nice area for a good walk!
MoreNo comments! Heaven on earth!!!!
I went up this mountain as a practice before trekking Fansipan mountain, its probably not comparable to it in terms of physical intensity, time, etc., but its certainly a site to behold if you can climb all the way up to the peak.Great location for some breeze and of course, photography. The trekkking itself should be mild (or easyfor most people. But still, do wear some proper shoes as the steps can be slippery.Git yo mountain on.
MoreGood view of the mountains, calming and scenic views along the way. Away from waste-burn-construction-building air pollution in sapa town. It’s right next to central square, conveniently accessible. Avoid tourist surcharge by taxi/grab Drivers.
More6.45 - 7.15: Our car and tourguide will pick you up at the meeting point then depart to Sapa, following Noi Bai - Lao Cai high-way.Along the way, you will have chance to contemplate the beauty of northwest mountains that terraced fields are sparkling in sunlight or dim in thick fog. Have a short break in 30 minutes then continue the trip to Sa Pa.13.00: Arrive in Sapa, check in hotel, have lunch.Afternoon: You will begin the trek up Hàm Rồng (Dragon’s JawMountain. There are several well tended flower gardens along the way. Going through two Heaven Gates, you will get the top of Ham Rong Mountain. Up here, you will have a sensational specticular views of the Hoàng Liên Sơn Mountains, including Vietnam’s highest peak - Mount Fanxipan. This is an enjoyable outing, but it’s not the north face of Everest so you will go down in time for dinner.Evening: After dinner, you are free to explore the charm of Sapa by night, enjoy roasted corn, baked eggs beside charcoal fire or go shopping. Overnight at hotel in Sa Pa.Especially on Saturday night, we highly recommend a stop at the Love Market which is one of unique cultures of ethnic minorities (H’Mong, Dazo. int Lao Cai in pacticular and Northwest of Vietnam in general.
MoreWe did this as guided trek on day 1, while the views of the city and valley and nice, its not worth the trip. Go directly into the rice fields instead (Lao Chai and Ta Van is amazing, and avoid the tourist trap Cat Cat village). However the gardens were well maintained.
MoreExcellent views of Sapa and the surrounds even when the valley is foggy. Only 70,000 VND per person entry and there are multiple WCs, snack stands and cafes on the meandering trails. Very few people there on a weekday so we had many trails to ourselves. Especially good lighting at sunset as the fog rolls back into town and the sun drops behind the mountains. Definitely worth the climb!
MoreMuch fog, many feelings, fresh air
A musy go In Sapa! Loving the weather, people & fresh air here
Beautiful must go in sapa.
I love this lovely town . Lucky i am in their new year days .So most of local peoples are wear tradational custume . Really lovely and colorful. No matter how hight you climb ..the air will help you not to get tired. Love it ...
Moreearly in the morning a lot of cloudy you can not see any thing, the best time in the afternoon : amazing view
MoreStunning and amazing viewDefinitely a great place for visitorsEnjoyable and relaxing
Morefood is quite expensive but atmosphere is fresh
Absolutey awesome, well worth the money (70,000 Dong Per Personyou will never regret no matter what your budget. The view is breathtaking, I would go at sunset though and bring bug spray!!
MoreA must if you love light hiking.
A great view from the top. Lots of tracks beside the main one, as I found out but they all lead to the same place....eventually.
MoreAmazing view... Very huge park
Seems pricey at first (70000 Dong for an adult ticketbut the views are truly spectacular! Expect a 20 minute walk to the top. If you really want to make it worth it, go in the evening just before sunset, it’s pretty spectacular. The whole park area and the amazing views are definitely worth it
MoreQuite tired when climbing... But really happy to see everything here. Beautiful!
Far better than I expected. If you want a walking adventure without straying out into the villages on a hike then this is an amazing place to explore. There are many paths to choose from and areas to relax. Amazing views, and although there are shops and cafes, it doesnt feel as touristy as elsewhere, as a lot is open gardens and mystery paths where I hardly saw any people.
MoreBest place to have whole view sapa city
It was great to stand up there and see the whole Sapa town and Hoang Lien Son mountain partly in the cloud.
MoreEntrance ticket is 70k dong per adult. The hike up was definitely worth the amount we paid for. I suggest sparing at least 2 hours and get yourself onto the Cloudyard which is your largest reward of the entire hike. You get to snap the whole of Sa Pa town area (if the weather is clear). Best to come here during spring as you may see plum/peach/cherry blossom flowers
MoreA fairly long walk up to the mountain lookout, traversing many steps, along the way walking past beautiful gardens and paths carved out of rocks. You will spot the mountain likened to a dragon on the way. Getting past the steps youll be awarded by an amazing view of all of Sapa.
MoreA very huge park /garden located just behind the Stone Church, best to visit in the evening. To truly enjoy the beauty of this place, recommend to allocate at least 4 hrs here. A stairs-hike to Cloud Yard and Heavens Gate is a MUST though may be tiring!!! Cloud Yard allows you to view the whole SAPA city while Heavens gate with the unique black stone formations allows you to get a closer view of the dragon-jaw-like mountain peak.
MoreFamous for Vietnamese, if you have time go climb there. You can see lots of trees, nice air, at the and quite good view. 😊But,, here is NO Map, NO Sign, Dont have exactly road. Just follow your mood or your brain GPS 😅🙊Even if hard to find get to the Top(because it doesnt much sign-like missioncan good experience and good trekking for yourself.
MoreBeautiful place especially in Sep to Oct and Summer time. Quite little service but the public rest rooms are clean. You should walk to the top to see a ancient pagoda.
MoreNice planned area with gardens and stone paths which take you through some interesting narrow passages among a large number of black rocks covered with beautifully contrasting green moss. At the top you have a great view of the town.Came in the winter, so most flowers were non-existent.
